At least, that was the plan…

Sophie Nichols knew regret. It slithered through her dreams every night. ... He’d seen too much death, lost too many friends. Life was short. There had to be something more. But damned if he knew what it was.
Burnout is a refreshing read about how two completely different people, from two opposite worlds can come together and build something incredible. The moment I read the blurb I was intrugued by the story behind it and now I'm so glad I gave it a try. You see, this story is not your typical MC book where club business and that lifestyle is in the front of the story, heck no, it's about how one lost man, who happens to be the sergeant-at-arms for the Rogue Riders MC helps a woman in need, Sophie, who's a real badass cop.
I loved Sophie. Her past was terrible and I was glad to see she had someone to help her get through that difficult time. She had her moments but aside from that I really liked how sassy, smart, super loyal to her brother (even when he didn't deserve it) and witty she could be. Especially her comeback lines to Hunter were simply awesome and they sure gave me a laugh.
“Fuck me,” he muttered. Sophie reached for her shirt. “Well…I tried.” ... Hell , she hadn’t even hesitated before trying to poison him, and then she’d cooly turned her back and walked away.
And as for Ace, most of the time I did like him but there was just that one scene where I simply had to think 'Men, what fascinating and yet stupid creatures!'. But he did manage to redeem himself as the story progressed. Also, the fact that he knew what to do with a real woman brough him some points for sure. ;)
“I made a mistake. You aren’t just a bad guy. You’re a very bad guy with a very dirty mouth.”
They made a great yet unusual pair and worked well together on getting Sophie's brother back. The sacrifice Ace made at the end was unbelievable and so swoon worthy. But I was still very grateful how the author concluded their journey. This is definitely a short and at times sweet read I'd recommend!
3.5 stars. This novella is sexy as hell. Ace is a biker sergeant at arms and Sophie is a cop. One adventurous night Sophie decides to go to her brother's party where she meets the sexy alpha that pushes all her buttons. Their start is rough as they are from two different worlds, but I can see how they work. Although Ace is possessive he doesn't stifle or control Sophie which was what her ex did. The plot is interesting and the support characters are sure to bring some strong elements to the continuing story. Sophie is determined to find her brother and is willing to cross lines she's never walked over before if it means his safety. It is a HFN with a cliffy, which frankly annoys the bejeezus out of me. Safety gang: you're going to have a BIG problem with this one. Our H has an interaction with several OW... though its flimsily explained away and I do mean FLIMSY as HELL. No rape/abuse. No virgins. If it wasn't for that big faux pas, it would have been rated higher.
Sarah Castille is brilliant, and in her latest Legal Heat series, she proves it yet again. She brought to life two awesome, complex and fleshed out characters, threw them together in a fast, gritty action packed story, and still managed to give me all the panty melting, gooey, blush worthy moments of a romance that I can't get enough of.
Burnout is like no other biker romance I’ve ever read. In the past, biker books tend to turn me off rather than on, for all the typical reasons (OTT violence and the cheating that tends to kill any warm fuzzies that I need when reading a romance.)
But from the beginning I was sucked in and I couldn’t put this one down. I loved Ace. He is tough, dangerous, sexy as sin and definitely book boyfriend material. He was the perfect blend of bad ass and alpha. He goes through a lot of emotional growth in this book (which is refreshing in a biker romance!) and I was addicted to his every word! Just everything he said and did was Hot!
Then there’s Sophie. I loved her dedication, her strength, her sass. This was no doormat h, Sophie had her set of rules and stuck true to them. She knew who she was and didn’t let others dictate what or how she should do things. Loved that she had a brain and a backbone. She proved to be Ace’s equal, in and out of the bedroom. She was as vulnerable as they come but didn't let that stop her from doing what needed to be done. Very badass!
When a sexy cop meets a dangerous outlaw Looking for a fresh start, Sophie packs up and moves to be closer to her brother and away from her painful past. What better way than letting her freak flag fly for one night, with a highly inappropriate but oh so tempting biker? She knows he’s bad news, but sometimes a girl just wants to let go and have some wild fun. And Ace definitely fits the bill, bringing out the wild streak in Sophie she didn’t even know she had.
Rules get broken and boundaries get pushed Underneath the ink, the cut, and the chromed bike, Ace is more than the sums of his parts. He walks the walk and definitely talks the talk. Being shuffled from foster home to foster home as a child, Ace has never known real family, affection or emotional relationships. But when a curvy cop crosses his line of vision, Ace falls fast and hard.
Ace freely admits he isn’t a relationship guy, not because he doesn’t want it, but because he has never experienced that deep a connection with anyone before and he sees his past as a crutch. The closest he has come to that level of connection is the brotherhood that accepted him and gave him a purpose. When he meets Sophie, she changes how he sees things. Makes him feel things he never felt before. For Sophie, it’s about getting past her emotional fears. She was burned in the past and panics at the mere mention of long term or serious commitment.
Something else that is really great about Burnout is that both MCs talk to each other. There is no misunderstanding, no lies, no deception. They were both up front and honest. Ace and Sophie worked so good together and made an awesome team. There’s a part where Ace wants to go bust some heads and do things his way, but he knows Sophie can handle herself, so he backs off, allowing her to make her own choices. I loved that. From beginning to end this held my attention.
There was a lot of things I loved about this book but there was also some teeny tiny things that I could have done without. Overall these didn’t bother me too much because like I mentioned before, the author does a really awesome job of fixing them that in the end I was able to overlook them and move on.
Safety: Yes with exceptions

Castille does MCs like no other! Hot and fast, with a huge heaping of emotion. Castille presents a tightly woven plot that was exciting from the first to the very last. I found the conclusion extremely satisfying. That’s not to say that what came between the covers wasn’t also fantastic. The fast paced plot didn’t let up for a second. At the same time, it wasn’t just action. Romance and heat lit up the pages as I got caught up in all of the emotions surrounding me.
Talk about an odd mix of characters that fit together perfectly. I enjoy the fact that the main character in this novel wants the camaraderie of the MC without the 1% stigmata; the brothers and the loyalty without the underworld aspect. Yet he still has the Alpha male aura that we expect from an MC sergeant-at-arms. Countered by a heroine walking a fine line between her desires and being a good cop this cast was absolutely fantastic.
Castile has once again created an unforgettable novel that I’ll never get enough of. It’s a one of a kind tale that can be read both as part of the series or on its own.

Have I told you how much I love Sarah Castille's writing? No? I'm sure I have. I have adored everything I've read by her. Just go find my reviews on her other things I've read and you'll see. She is talented and writes some hot stuff. However, I was just a *tad* bit disappointed in this one. Don't get me wrong, I liked it. I liked it alot. Ace was hot with his alpha biker badass dirty talking self, who knew what he wanted and would do whatever he needed to get it. And Sophie was great! I LOVED that she was a cop and strong and feisty. I sometimes wonder about authors who don't have a strong female character for their alpha bikers. Those type of men need someone that will not only melt for the guy, but stand up to them, and who can have their back if something happens. Sophie totally fit that description. So what was my distraction with this one? I felt it was a little bit repetitive. We got the info about Sophie and her ex, Ryan, several times and we got info on Ace and his horrible childhood in foster care more than once. I just felt we didn't need the many reminders of it. And that is all on me; someone else may not have noticed it.
All in all, this was a steamy way to spend my rainy day. Go get this. You won't regret it :)

From the moment I started this book, I knew I had discovered something truly special, I was barely three sentences into the story and I immediately felt a connection to the characters, and felt myself being drawn into Ace and Sophie's world. The moment Ace entered the picture I knew he was going to be a force to be reckoned with, and definitely a character that would stay with me long after the story was over. There is just something about a smooth, dirty talking bad boy that I cannot deny, each sexy word he uttered hit me to the core, made me weak in the knees, and had me swooning like a fool! This is by far one of the most impressive, and most memorable first reads I have had the pleasure of reading in quite a while, and I cannot wait to get my hands on more sexy little reads from this very talented author!!
If you like your fairy tales a little on the naughty side and equipped with a dirty talking alpha that aims to please, then look no further... Ace Logan is DEFINITELY your man!!! Sophie Nichols has just transferred to a new police agency and the night before she has to report she goes to her half-brothers party at his place. While there she notices all different type of people but she really is not in the mood of being a cop this night. She knows that the man who is trying to pick her up is a biker but she is still attracted to him. After some verbal back and forth he tells her to go get him something to drink. She goes and gets the worst drink possible and with a smile hands it to him. She is disappointed when he gives her no reaction but as soon as she leaves he has to wash his mouth out. He is also impressed with her for no one stands up to him like that ever. He now wants more than ever when the party goes hay wire with shooting, yelling and screaming. In the aftermath her brother is gone. He is Ace Logan the sergeant in arms of the Rogue riders MC. Not knowing that now he was supposed to be looking out for her. She decided that a one night stand with a hot biker would not be so bad after a divorce, and her ex in prison for assault and attempted murder, her. The morning after their night together had him thinking that she was into dress up or roll playing, that is until he realized that she was not joking she was a cop. Her day gets worse when she finds out about all of the illegal activity that her brother was into and is still into. Now she is suspended upon investigation of herself. After not seeing or talking to Ace in a few days she decides to go to their club house and wait outside. When she is noticed and brought in by one of the bikers from the party, what she sees makes her more upset with herself more than anything. Ace just as pissed off does not know how to fix things either. When they do finally get together she opens up about her past but he does not about his. They do agree to work together to find her brother, and decisions need to be made as far as her staying or leaving the force. Whether they can be a couple if she stays with the force, and why won’t he open up to her. When they come to finding her brother all of these other questions get answered with a few surprises. A better story than I thought it was going to be. Good characters also. I got this book from netgalley. I gave it 4 stars. Follow us at www.1rad-readerreviews.com
There are some MC books that I can't really get lost in and enjoy them but sadly this just wasn't one of them. I'm not saying this was a bad book just maybe not for me. Maybe if I read the first two books I would have felt different about this one.
Sophie is a police officer and she is starting over in a new city where her step brother lives. She just got out of a possessive marriage with a man who not only cheated on her but tried to kill her. The last thing she wants is a man in her life but after meeting Ace at her brothers party she thinks a one night stand is just what she needs.
Ace is basically an enforcer for the club and he is at Jason's house, Sophie's brother, to hash on details on some club business. When he spots her he wants to know everything about sweet Sophie. After they are together the first night Ace knows he can't get enough of her and if he really wants to be with her he will have to give up what he loves most. Riding.
The characters were just okay for me. Since this is a novella I just felt getting to know them and them getting to know each other was rushed. Plus they had stuff going on around them like Ace getting stabbed, Jason missing, her being suspended from the police force I mean when did they fully develop the relationship? All they did was have sex.
Towards the end Jason is recused but then what? He isn't mentioned again? What happened? This story just left me with more questions then answers.
The writing was good and I loved the way these two couldn't keep their hands off one another. Castille delivered multiple sex scenes that not only contained lots of dirty words but lots of details which I loved. In my opinion I just think this book would have captured more of my interest if it would have been full length and contained more details about them and their growing relationship.

"Asking a club of outlaw bikers for help went against everything she believed. But the law had let her down."
Sophie - a beat cop in Toronto for four years , now a member of Vancouver Police Department's Investigative Division
Ace - an outlaw and the sergeant-at-arms for the Rogue Riders MC
They meet at Jason's party , the hook up and they have a one night stand. Or so she hoped. Sophie was in for a big surprise when the next day she finds Ace at her door step. Now with her brother being abducted by a rival MC Sophie must find other ways to help her brother, because the law she strongly believed in just gave up on her.
The reason why I'm rating this one just 4 stars is because the comparison between Ace and Ryan was too much in the spotlight.
Ryan did that Ryan used to Ryan never I remember Ryan Ryan always Unlike Ace, Ryan
Ok, I got it already!Your ex was an abusive ass ! Get over your ex..just get over the past already !
On the bright side !'ll admit that the plot twist at the end of the book did caught me by surprise. I was expecting something else, like Ace's brother to pop out of nowhere and change the rules of the game .Very well played !
Also I'll give credit to Sophie , I really like her for being able to stand up for herself and handle things on her own.
Sarah Castille did it again with the Legal Heat series. A story filled with hot bikers, hot sex, secrets and unbridled lust that turns into love.
Ace was an alpha male with an alpha attitude with a libido that heated up the pages of this book. He had a hard time with the direction the MC was going and Sophie ended up being his salvation and his way out. But, in order to do that, he had to put himself on the line, lie to brothers that he admired and give into the feelings that he fought so hard to ignore.
Sophie thought one night with Ace would cure her lust for the badass biker. But, she soon found out that that wasn’t the case, at all. But, finding out about how her brother was living his life, the people that he was associating with and having everything come to light in the worst way, was too much for her to handle. She put people like her brother and Ace away. Now, she needs Ace and his connections to find her brother and put an end to the trouble he caused her with the PD. What she has to do to end this game is unbelievable but, she does it. And, she couldn’t be happier.
I was surprised with the direction Sarah Castille took this story. I was also thrilled with how she brought Sophie and Ace full circle. There really wasn’t any part of this story that didn’t have me turning pages and waiting to see what was going to happen next. But, that’s what I have come to expect from this author. A continuous story, no stone left unturned, hot males, strong woman and a storyline that always keeps me engaged … that’s what Sarah Castille gives to us, each and every time.
I enjoyed this short but sweet MC romance. I really liked the love at first sight aspect and the soul searching choices Ace and Sophie made in the end. The conflict and drama reeled me in to this entertaining story.
I really liked the main couple in this story. Ace was an outlaw biker with good ideals. He was tired of the death and dirty deals but he was still loyal to his club. Sophie was a cop who didn't cross lines. They both had some disillusionment about their life choices. Sophie relocated to be with her shady brother, Jason, and meets Ace at a party. They hook up for a one night stand that had them both wishing it could be more. They go their seperate ways in the morning but then a crisis involving Sophie's brother throws them back together again. Jason had gone missing, the cops aren't helping, and Sophie's own job is uncertain. So where else is a girl to turn but her hot biker.
Ace and Sophie had a relationship where the conflict was unsurmountable, unless one of them made the ultimate choice. Her job or his club. Who would be the one to give up something that meant everything to them. I think readers will be quite surprised by this story and the way things turned out in the end.
This Legal Heat Novella doesn't skimp on heat or on heart! Sophie Nichols moved to Vancouver to escape the regrets of a failed marriage. She works as a police officer because she loves rules and order. But when she meets arrogant but sexy outlaw biker, Ace Logan, at her brother's party, she can't help but be drawn to him. He was everything her ex wasn't, strong, and commanding with a body made for sin. But he was an outlaw and criminals and cops didn't mix, did they? Ace couldn't help but notice beautiful and sexy Sophie. But it was her sass, and confidence that made him want more from her and himself. Could he convince her to break some rules and give him more? Ace and Sophie were fun together. Their banter was witty and they had great chemistry. Ace had a surprising romantic side leading to some very steamy and hot sex. There is some suspense and drama and a few twists keeping you engaged throughout. This story had it all, great character growth, interesting secondary characters, intrigue and hot & steamy love scenes. I usually am not a fan of novellas but Ms. Castille has successfully demonstrated how a short story should be written.
Great read, great storyline and great characters. Could have been a tad longer but good.
Sophie was a kick butt woman! She is a cop and she is full of sass! Had lots of drama in her life and trying to find herself. Her brother is something else though. I can't believe she trusted his word about his life. I kinda had issues with him doing drugs and she was like oh well. But he did help her out when she needed it. Sophie takes what she wants for sure!
Ace is interesting too. He also had a hard life and just looking for a place to land. He sure is a dirty talking man....sexy. He is also tough as nails and protects what's his. I like him because he fesses up when he is wrong and puts it all on the line. I liked that about him, honest and upfront! It made him very irresistible.
The storyline does take a twist that I didn't see coming. You can read this without reading the others and not be lost. I think I will be reading some more from this author. Great read enjoy!

Yep did it again. Haven't read the first two, but don't need to in order to enjoy this one.
Ace and Sophie were great together. What was given up so they could be together...amazing. I kept waiting on the ex to make an appearance so Ace could beat him up. There are still a bunch of great guys to get HEAs.
Sarah Castille can writes an MC guy in Ace Logan that can be sweet and emotional aware in Burnout. Sophie Nichols is a cop, which should be the complete opposite to what a biker should ever want. Castille makes this unlikely pair outlaw Biker and cop work so well you wish the book was longer.
First time ever one night stand…anyway that was how it was supposed to be for Sophie. Sophie was a good cop who was looking to start over in a new city her brother lived in to get over her ex-husband trying to kill her since he couldn’t have her. Whew, that was a lot of info in one sentence! Yes, Sophie was once married to a man that she believed in and loved only to find out he was a cheater who mentally abused her and only wanted to control her. When she filed for divorce he figured that if he couldn’t have her, then nobody would. Once he was put away for 3 years for something other than attempted murder Sophie’s brother talked her into coming to live in his city. Sophie transferred and continued with the job that she loved and believed in…a cop. Once arriving she went to her brother who happened to be having a party at his house. It wasn’t just any party; Sophie could see that this was a bunch of people she probably would have encountered on her job when she was arresting people. After a short time Sophie was being ass grabbed by someone and a dirty, hot, sexy biker came to her rescue. Ace knew that there was something about Sophie and he wanted to get more acquainted with all of her gorgeous curves and those hot as hell boots she was wearing. Plus after finding out that Sophie did not want a relationship but just a hot one nighter who was he not to oblige her request. Pretty funny when the morning after came and Ace woke up with Sophie standing in front of him in her cop uniform. That sure calmed things down pretty fast for Ace when he was already thinking about another go round with Sophie.
Ace had his own back history as being placed in child services at a young age only to be abused by these same people. He didn’t believe in the system itself but did believe in justice. He was part of a breakaway MC who wanted to play batman. They believed in giving justice to those who were denied it by the regular justice system. Over time though even this MC had members ready to be become the outlaws that one percenters are known for. So once Sophie’s brother was taken by a very dangerous and deadly group of gun runners Sophie tried going by the law that she believed in only to be turned away when she requested their help in finding her brother. It was Ace who stepped up with the MC to help Sophie out. By this time the one night turned into a lot of “one nights”.
So what happens when the guy you are falling for is an officer in a MC and since MC’s are very male regimented will this go against everything Sophie was trying to get behind her since her ex was so controlling? What happens when the rest of Ace’s MC Brothers find out that his girl is a cop? Ace and Sophie sure burned up the sheets together but is that enough to bring two opposites together and make it anything but a one nighter? This book had me reading it straight through because I was so drawn into the Ace/Sophie relationship and couldn’t wait to find out if Sophie stayed on the right side of the law she believed in or if she had to turn to Ace and let his MC help rescue her brother. I am hoping the author continues with this series because there are a lot of bikers in this story I would love to read about. Oh, and how about a book on Jackie, too she seemed pretty BA herself. Sorry to name drop but once you read this you will see that there is a great supporting cast in this book.

REVIEW: 3.25 stars--BURNOUT is the re-release of a contemporary, adult novella by Sarah Castille originally found in the February 2014 RIDING DESIRE anthology. BURNOUT is an erotic romance story line belonging to Sarah’s LEGAL HEAT series. This is Vancouver police officer Sophie Nichols, and Sargent at Arms/ Rogue Riders MC member Ace Logan’s story. BURNOUT can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty.
Told from dual third person perspectives BURNOUT follows the forbidden relationship between police officer Sophie Nichols, and MC member Ace Logan. Sophie’s transfer to Vancouver from the Toronto PD finds our heroine embroiled in a drug war where her younger brother is a major player and held for ransom by a local gang. What ensues is the building relationship between Ace and Sophie, and Sophie’s determination to rescue her brother-at all costs. Sophie finds herself asking for help from the local MC, and with it comes the man who calls to her heart.
BURNOUT is a quick read; a fast paced build to love; a story of insta-lust/love where our leading couple find themselves on both sides of the law. The rush to the finish is less than satisfying; and with it comes too many unanswered questions, missing details and information about the players in question, and unbelievable plot points that are hard to believe or accept especially as it pertained to the MC.
The world building is awash with graphic sexual situations and strong adult language. There is some violence although most of the action is behind the scenes.
BURNOUT is an entertaining read but one that left me frustrated due to the lack of information and resolution, and the questionable credibility of the MC trope and the resulting outcome of the story line premise.
Lies, outlaw bikers that are HOT, kidnapping and how can I forget a lust between two characters that will definitely burn up the sheets.
I fell in love with the Rogue Riders MC especially Ryder, Ice and Ace. There were a couple of more bikers that I liked seeing again like Matchstick and how he liked helping the women in the stories. He helped Lana in the last book and he will be giving Ace some smack because Sophie got hurt.
So Sophie is a beautiful young woman that has had a devastating past. She was married to a man that she thought she knew but she didn’t know him and all. This man Ryan almost killed her and now she is living in the same city as her step brother someone that has been there for her since all that happened. But she didn’t know half of his life she doesn’t know who he truly is.
Ace is the sergeant-at-arms for the Rogue Riders MC and he also lived a horrible childhood. When he was just a child he and his brother lost their mother at a very young and their father didn’t take care of them. They were put in the system and then separated. He didn’t find a family that loved him and showed him what was right and wrong instead they just used him. Now he is part of a family and had brothers that he had protected and now those same brothers are going to protect him.
Burnout was a good novella and it was full of surprises. The characters were well developed but there was something missing in order for this story to be wow. I know for her there were times that Sophie was annoying because she wouldn’t stop comparing Ace to Ryan. It was also very short and the storyline seemed to be cut short. I still have questions I want to know more about the Rogue Riders MC. I also wanted to see more of Ace and an important person in his life I wanted to read more about them. Then there was Jason, her step brother, what happened to him will he ever have communication with Sophie again. I love how Sophie was a very independent woman that could take care of herself and she loved her profession. Now as for Ace he was a scary biker but loved how he was able to put himself aside and change. The chemistry between Sophie and Ace is explosive and they were perfect for each other.
Ms. Castille is an amazing writer. Her creativity is amazing and I can’t wait for her to come up with another book for this series. I would love to see more of the Rogue Riders MC.
I totally recommend this book.
Received ARC from NetGalley in exchange of an Honest Review
Due to credibility issues with various aspects of this book and its stilted writing style, Burnout was not a hit with this NetGalley reviewer. Though I often read this genre, the delivery of this one just didn’t work for me.
I.e., Being the upstanding police officer she was portrayed, this heroine would not be so nonchalant about the actual or even prospect of all the rampant criminal activity occurring around her. She certainly would not be OK with her brother snorting cocaine at a party she was attending, along with obvious biker thugs. Nor would she have bought her brother’s story he worked as an accountant. It was pretty obvious he made his living off criminal activity. She would have tried to bring him to the right side of the law.
Having just now read the synopsis for the other books in this series, I can definitely say this whole series isn’t one I plan on pursuing.

Sophie is a beat cop with a lot of spunk, sass and attitude. ACE is part of an MC and is smitten with Sophie. When her brother vanishes, she feels alone as the police aren't (actively) looking for him as a missing person but rather a person of interest for other crimes that Sophie had no knowledge of. ACE was hired to keep an eye on her and is conflicted due to the electricity/attraction. Sophie had originally agreed to one night with ACE, but one night just wasn't enough for either of them. Between the attraction and the action (both in and out of the "bedroom"), I had a difficult time putting this book down. This story is written well with great development but didn't pull me in the way all of Sarah's other books have. It's hard not to like anything she writes because she does it so much better than a lot of authors out there for me. While the MC aspect in this book wasn't as gritty or hardcore as opposed to others, ACE's role within it as well as a few side characters within were portrayed very well. It was refreshing to see an MC wanting to change their outlaw reputation and the ending left me happy for most of the characters in the entire book. I'm addmittedly one of Sarah's biggest fans and would recommend any of her books. I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review
Sarah Castille's big tough macho alphas, whether they are bikers, MMA fighters, or lawyers, are often evenly matched or sometimes even completely flummoxed by their equally strong, smart women. Rookie cop Sophie and MC enforcer Ace fit this formula beautifully. Instead of a cliched battle of good cop v. evil biker, Sophie and Ace are fiercely loyal, loving people whose intense sexual attraction is tested by the fact that their loyalties lie in completely clashing direction.
What I enjoyed the most was that Ace, despite his rough, tough biker lifestyle, never once expected Sophie to give up her badge and hop on the back of his bike with a trashy skirt and heels. When Ace realizes he has fallen into insta-love, practically minutes after his bout of insta-lust, he gets that he is in love with all of Sophie and even finds himself proud of her for being a good cop.
The insta-love came pretty much out of nowhere, as did the too neat ending. I have to blame the the novella format which really did Sophie and Ace's story a disservice. I'm hoping that ballsy Jackie gets a book, too.
3.75 stars

This installment may be a novella in length but packs the heat of her full length novels.
Sophie Nichols has just transfered to the Vancouver PD to be closer to her brother and to get away from her ex. Her first night at her new home Sophie goes to a party to meet up with her brother where she meets Ace Logan, Sergeant at Arms for Rogue Riders MC. Ace is pure alpha male and has a smoking hot body and aura that Sophie can't resist. When Sophie's brother asks Ace to watch over and protect her until he can figure out a way to get himself out of trouble he readily agrees.
Sophie decides Ace is just the man she needs to get her mind off things for one night problem is one night just doesn't seem to be enough for either of them. When she finds out just how much danger her brother is in Sophia turns to Ace and his MC to help her rescue her brother when her fellow boys in blue let her down.
Sophia and Ace had great chemistry together and I loved how strong and independent Sophie was. I would highly recommend this book to anyone looking for a steamy MC read.
I received this book compliments of the publisher in exchange for my honest review and opinon. All ratings and opinions stated are my own.
Can a MC romance be sweet? YES. I am not an expert on MC romances but have read several and I really enjoyed Ace and Sophie’s story. Ace is the typical alpha male – I see, I want, I must have - but he also realizes he cannot always dictate. Sophie is strong enough to stand up to Ace and knows she can handle herself without relying on Ace (or any other man) to always protect her. Unfortunately, she was in a possessive relationship that ended badly and has trust issues. Ace has his own set of problems but they come together to help each other. Their solution to the law/outlaw dilemma was surprising and sweet. There is a previous book in this series (Ice/Lana) which I have not read but it is on my wishlist. I would also love to read any future books on the other members of the MC and the direction it is going.
I received a complimentary copy from the publisher through NetGalley.
MC books are one of the romance genres that need to be really good in order to work as both MC books and as romance novels, or in this case, novellas. This one was good. Sophie was interesting, and it is always great to see the female lead in a romance be fully able to take care of herself. Ace was interesting, in the rough alpha way that the MC heroes often are. But also sweet and Sarah Castille did a good job keeping the balance of the 2. While with a novella it is hard to fully invest in the characters, this one was worth the read.
The plot was a little predictable and you had a pretty good idea exactly what was going on with her brother, but as this was not really a huge focus of the story, this was not an issue.
The writing was strong with no issues with dialog that seemed odd or stilted. Overall, it was enjoyable.
This is a great book by Sarah Castille. This book is A Legal Heat Novella. Sophie Nichols is a rookie cop, she knows the dangers of a one night stand with the sexy biker Ace, but she is unable to resist. Ace is the new sergeant at arms for the Rogue Riders MC and doesn’t need any complications in his life especially from Sophie. When Sophie’s brother is kidnapped by a ruthless criminal gang, Ace is her only hope to find him. If you are looking for a great spicy romance, then you need to read this book. I am looking forward to reading the next book by this great author. A Review copy was provided to me in exchange for a fair and honest review. The free book held no determination on my personal review.

I enjoyed this short MC romance book. Ace has lost many friends and brothers and has seen his share of bloodshed. Ace, is attracted to Sophie from the moment he sees her: she challenges him rather than falling at his feet. They have a one night stand which turns into so much more than either imagined. Ace and Sophie's world couldn't be more different: one breaks the law and the other follows it. Ace knew that one night would never be enough with his sweet Sophie. Ace is such a sweet biker, protective over Sophie but patient and understanding. I thoroughly enjoyed Ace and Sophie's story: their characters developed nicely throughout and the reader gets both Ace and Sophie's point of view.
I really liked this one. Sophie, a cop trying to run away from her past, hooks up with Ace, an outlaw biker, at her shady brother's party and takes him home for a one night stand. Ace get the shock of his life when he finds out she's a cop but he that doesn't stop him from pursuing her. Lots of hot sex and suspense thrown in when Sophie' brother gets in trouble and the police aren't willing to help. I really liked Sophie and her chemistry with Ace is off the charts. I also liked getting to know the other bikers and the cameo of Lana and James from Sarah's other biker story in the series, Barely Undercover.
Sophie is a cop. Sophie was married but her ex is in jail after almost killing her, so she moves to be closer to her brother. Ace is an outlaw biker who grew up on foster care and doesn't believe in love. They meet at her brothers party but she doesn't know all the illegal things. She agrees to a one night stand but Ace wants more. When her brother is kidnapped, the cops don't want to help so she turns to Ace and his club. Sophie has to learn to trust her instincts and Ace has to decide if he wants a life with Sophie without the club. Awesome story. Hot biker. Sexy cop. Sex in various places. *RECEIVED A COPY FROM NETGALLEY*
