A misfit dwarf. An ancient destiny. One epic battle for two worlds.
Val Stonehold never fit in with other Iron Dwarves. At nearly six feet tall and struggling with her identity, she carved out a life for herself in New York City as a bodyguard and blacksmith.
When an ancient power awakens within her, Val discovers she's more than just an outsider. She's a Warrior of the Red Bear, sworn to protect the Lunar Fae and all of paranormal-kind.
Dark forces threaten both Earth and Avalon.
Val must master her berserker rage and iron magic to stop a rebellion that could unleash chaos across dimensions. With a ragtag team of paranormal misfits at her side, Val races to build a sanctuary for her people while battling ancient evils.
But time is running out.
Can Val embrace her true nature and save both worlds? Or will her insecurities doom them all to darkness?
A long time ago I was born in Los Angeles. That's where I spent many of my formative years. After I became an adult, I moved around for a bit before ending up in a small town in Oregon, very similar to Bailey's hometown. Greenhearth is fake, if you haven't already Googled that, but it's like many small towns with less than 1,000 people.
My pets... I love animals, especially my two even if they do create havoc in my daily life. I have a cat, named Snowstorm, Storm for short. Then I have a rescue, Josephine. She's a Labradoodle - I think. It's hard to say but it's the best I can come up with.
What I'm working on... I'm already working on the next book in the series - was working on it before Bad Attitude came back from editing. And now that it has released, need to stay on track with A Bit Aggressive.

Kicking the bad Guys to the Curb and over the Cliffs
Love it when the baddies get what they deserve, alllll too rare these days. Val the heroine and adorable iron dwarf heroine with giant genes & lifelong alopecia, Tetra, their tech manager Liam and their entire crew is really putting in overtime to make sure the baddies get exactly what they deserve - a double serving of darkness nice and hot behind paranormal prison doors and will never see the light of day again! JUSTICE!
The fun part is how much chaos and mayhem follows Val and her Red Bear shapechanger dog Shadow, , so action junkies buckle up since of our in that beautiful Mustang sentient Genieve, so Val and team always get quite the ride.
This time Queen Julie is along for quite a bit of the action as the fight to take down the villain and the assembled team on the Dark side and it is a big one - so the battle scenes reallllly have it all - LMBPN , y’all seriously need to be in MOVIES! How the film side hasn’t scooped any of the novels up yet for film rights yet is beyond me. (They can’t be too bright if they haven’t discovered the jewels waiting in so many of the series here, right??? Sooooo much potential starting with the original series that started our love of all the Anderle books The Kutherian Gambit…but I digress…) 🙄
Terrific series here for any of the thrill readers like me and and an absolutely worthwhile read
Val's companion, Shadow, has shown, at last, what he truly is.
Although Val can barely believe it, the evidence of her own eyes tells her clearly, that he is none other than the barely remembered Red Bear of the Iron Dwarves, disguised as a huge dog.
But, while Val believes that the Red Bear is waiting to find his true Iron Dwarf Companion, Shadow shows, beyond a doubt, that it is she, in fact, who is one of the fabled Warriors of the Red Bear!
It will take a huge battle with a rogue Elf, called Diana who, before going against the Eternity Throne, joins up with a former Adviser to the Throne: Niamh, who is steeped in Dark Magic, to reveal some of what is happening in the Dark!
Now that Val and Shadow, have had their revelations, I'm going off to start reading the next book in the series: Book 7: 'Guardian of Little Avalon.'
Once I've read this, I'll catch you. on the flip side, to let you know what Val, and Shadow, are up to next!
Val, Tetra, Liam and all the others (including Shadow of course!) are more challenged than ever by the lowlife jerks that keep crawling out from under their various rocks hoping to break the shaky foundations of the current peaceful times.
Val is beginning to learn that she & Shadow are both growing in abilities that have helped them to continue protecting the innocent while dispensing justice against all those who are trying to feed upon the paras & humans that only want to live their lives peacefully. Val also learns more about how both herself & Shadow are more than they realized.
Val and her friends are trying to track down Diana, and with the help of a double agent, bring her and her army down. At the same time Val is struggling with feelings that she is not good enough, as her friends start to suspect that she has the blood of the Iron Bear Clan running through her veins. I love this series and the Para-Military Recruiter series and as always cannot wait for the next book.
One of my favorite series from Jagger. Val is a relatable character with normal insecurities and paranormal abilities. So great to see things change and grow around her. Plenty of action and teamwork. Seeing Julie back on the field is a blast too. Niall is even growing into the group. Just what Val needs.
I love Val and Shadow and her gang. Satisfying story with an end and a new beginning. Wonderful world crafting and blending with our human world. Jealous of Liam that he gets to share it and I can only read about it!!!
Really am enjoying this series. Each book builds on the previous one and continues to develop the characters. Have read both authors before and have never been disappointed. Recommended.
I can't get enough of this series. Val and the gang just keep getting better and better. So many good characters and a great storyline. No spoilers here, just a recommendation to read this series.
I started book 1 on a whim and liked the characters, book 2 followed then 3,4,5,6 with some impatience waiting for 6 (This one) I'll miss Val, Shadow and Tetra when the series concludes
I have enjoyed this entire series immensely. Like most of the characters, though a few got a little more blood thirsty in this one. Great story. Can't wait for the next book.
The story continues , imaginative, fun and wonderfully creative and entertaining. Read this in a day. Couldn’t put it down. Have to wait for the next one so might get some work done. Thanks for speeding my recovery. Please don’t stop xx
As Val grows into herself she brings honor to those who don't fit in. Great battle scenes and team growth with all members growing as well. Can't wait for the journey of growths next book.
Val’s work continues. Her life gets more complicated but she is up for the challenges to achieve her dreams. This series and its characters continue to develop and grow, Love reading and can’t wait to continue seeing this series grow.
This is book 6 and we are getting a little history of Val..not as much as I would like. Slow romance ..which is great.,..the characters are all good..I just wish it would dive more into their thoughts and past
Another great story Great characters Adding some new faces here and there I am still thinking Liam should be a changling, but maybe not Maybe just being a full part of the team is good enough Plus it makes the inclusion more real!
Once again, the story kept me riveted to my seat plenty of action, romance, friendship, community. I love this series. I can’t wait to read the next book.
