The day of the school festival arrives, and Claudia enacts a plan to gather solid proof of Fermina's evil deeds. However, memories from Claudia's previous life leak into the present, softening her resolve...only for Fermina to reveal her most underhanded tactic yet! Will Fermina's modus operandi--hurting and manipulating people's goodwill--finally bring the condemned villainess's wrath to the surface?
"A perfect villainess wearing the skin of a proper lady."
The wrapping up the first novel was excellent! Hands down, five out of five stars for that!
I know Claudia would say she's foolish for one of her actions, but honestly, I think it makes her human. She's not perfect, even in this second chance life, but yet she is still trying. I like how she "fought back" and realized she wasn't nearly alone as she first thought she was.
Also, considering how I've felt about the romance thus far, I am surprised how much I enjoyed it in this volume! There is one page that was absolutely beautiful, and I was very happy with how things turned out!
Funny enough, though, this left me hesitant about the second half. There seems to be a sort of love triangle of sorts, but not really an actual love triangle? (It's definitely complicated LOL) With everything Claudia has done to get to this point, I feel nervous about the new guy and how this is going to wreak havoc internally for her.
Overall, I'm really, really glad I gave this series a chance! It surprised me in so many ways, and I would like to keep reading the series to find out what happens next!
A bit sad that the series continues and introduces a new (well old) love interest I seriously hope that this Roo character isn't going to cause problems or that things will go weird between the prince and Claudia, we finally had their fabulous moment and I was just crying at that point (and laughing at Claudia being oblivious to previous teasing/things he did). I was just hoping that this would be the end. Revenge done. Prince secured. So I am hoping that this one won't go off the rails. Please. Sure, the backstory was nice, but please just let our main couple be together.
I am a sucker for stories like this where the MC has to out smart the villain in a "Ive been reborn and now I need to get revenge for what you did to me in a past life." And this series has definitely scratched that itch for me. But this volume was disappointing. The Fermina plot line ended in the first few pages, and it ended rather quickly. I was a bit unsatisfied. I needed more of their back and forth and a more satisfying end to Fermina.
Now there's a new plot, which I am not sure I totally care for since it's possibly going to be a weird love triangle that'll emerge while the love interest is gone.
Thats another problem I have, possibly woth this entire series. Im not sure I buy the romance between Syl and Dia. She was so focused on her revenge then when thats settled its romance time? Dunno. A lot of this feels rushed.
The plot of the manga is strung from the "villainess wants to take revenge" trope, so of course, I started to read it like the weirdo I am.
It's entertaining enough for me to want to read more, but there are quite a few problems with the characterization of certain peeps.
FL for instance was a brothel worker but after being sent back in time is super nervous to spend time with her ex-fiancé who threw her out for her half-sister? She gets all flustered but like? Girl, you were a brothel worker for years???? Ur not actually 15 (or whatever age she gets rewinded to idk) and a naive maiden in love for the first time???? I think it would've been more interesting had the author explored how her past would impact the way she currently views affection. Not this, "omg so hot, he's flirting and I'm blushing" stuff.
The half-sister's motivations for wanting to frame her sister is SUPER one dimensional, like super basic, which I guess makes sense since she's just a shitty person?
The rest of the story from the 3rd volume onward (so this one) seems a bit redundant? Like it was expanded for the sake of having more stuff to read about. In comes a man she met in her past life who wanted to buy her from the brothel (in a save her sort of way). The issue I have with it is that it's never really alluded to in the beginning chapters, which just makes this all seem like a last minute addon to the story.
Overall, entertaining, but SUPER generic for the trope. The most basic of basic with no true twist on the trope.
2.5 stars, probably would not read the rest.

I just can’t reconcile the 2 timelines at this point. Would the Syl of the OG timeline really have gone on to marry Fermina with her simple schemes? Maybe if we had seen more of him in that timeline to see the political pressures that might take him there, but without it, I wasn’t interested in seeing them together as a couple. Raul/Roo is interesting, but introduced at this point with no previous setup makes it feel like we are just doing so to extend out the series. Evan’s was better set up and for a most minor role. The clean tie up of all obstacles from the original timeline was a surprising move;you wouldn’t typically get rid of your main antagonist this quickly. All in all! I’ll check out the next volume, but doubt I’ll continue the series beyond that.
This volume wraps up the festival arc and the half sister stuff. Finally able to move past her original date she is able to take that next step into a brighter future, staying with communicating true feelings between Dee and Syl.
This volume quickly jumps into the next story volume in the light novels by giving us another glimpse into her alternate future and the men in it. Here's starts the foreign prince arc.
I'm a big fan of Roo from the light novels and an excited to leave behind the boring sister nonsense and jump ahead into the more charming almost love match.... The next volume will surely be amazing!
HOW DRAMATIC!!!!!! I'm clutching my pearls....right after claudia and prince sylvester finally get out of their own way (ie. he proposes not once, but TWICE since she turns him down the first time lol), claudia gets a crazy visit from a very important man from her previous life. I do hope that this doesn't mess things up with syl, but their backstory is so tragic you can't help but wonder what could've been........
more of this series, please!!

Finally it’s the end of Fermina and her scheming, she was so caught in her hatred that she didn’t think it was going to be that bad. The best thing is that Claudia admitted her feelings to prince Sylvester! But I’m not sure how I feel about this new guy, I hope it doesn’t complicate things.
Fermina's plot comes to an end, Claudia gets engaged to the Prince and then a man from her previous life comes around (Roo) Feels like the end of the first storyline and start of the next.

Once more I seem to like the ideas but not necessarily the execution. There is no moment to relish in "revenge" before we rush through the formation of a relationship and the introduction of three new plots and additional characters in this volume. Nothing gets time breathe or feel organic. It is also a little jarring that these important issues from the past life didn't come up at all until it was relevant to the new plot points. She was poisoned by a thing that has an antidote. Surely that would have been secured when attacking one's enemies. Everything feels too convenient and thus the suspense and sense of conflict is lacking.
