When Andie Marriott and her high school sweetheart, Liam Graham, went their separate ways after graduation, she had hoped they would eventually get back together once they finished college. When those hopes were dashed, Andie was determined to move on and find love with someone else. Everything was going well until she discovered her boyfriend of the past five years was cheating on her.
Liam Graham, a confirmed bachelor and serial dater, makes flirting look like a full-time job. He’s only been in one exclusive relationship fifteen years ago with his high school love, Andie. Since Liam and Andie reconnected after college, they’ve been neatly tucked into each other’s friend zone, or as Liam’s grandmother calls it, the safe zone.
When Liam mistakenly invites two women from prestigious families to be his date to an important event, his grandmother and co-founder of the family’s business has had enough of his flirtatious shenanigans and informs him it’s time he settle down if he has any hope of becoming the company’s next CEO.
To improve his image, Liam convinces Andie to be his pretend girlfriend, but navigating their fake relationship proves more challenging than expected as the lines between what’s fake and what’s real become murky.
Are Liam and Andie willing to risk their fifteen-year friendship to give their former romance a second chance?
Liam's Proposal is a dual perspective friends-to-lovers, second-chance, workplace romance. It includes fake dating, a fake engagement, an endearing friend group, and of course, a happily ever after. This is a closed-door romance, which means there are no explicit sex scenes on or off the page. There are some heated kissing-only scenes but none of the spice included in an open-door romance. There is very mild, infrequent use of low-level profanity.
I am a mother of four adult children, stepmom to five adult children, and grandma to 20 grandchildren. I LOVE Coke Zero (seriously LOVE it!) and peanut M&M's. I spent five years as a single mom when my children were all very young.
That was then. This is now. I have been married to the love of my life since 2002, I have a BS in Liberal Studies, a teaching license, and an MS in Education and Administration. In 2016, Ron and I relocated to Utah, where I am continuing my 25+ years in education. I have taught high school, elementary school, and middle school; and believe it or not, I am most at home with those crazy, insane middle schoolers! Tweens and Teens! Would someone give me an "Amen" please?
Recently, I have begun a new romantic comedy series, and who knew I would love writing in this genre so much?
Besides my day job, I am also a classically trained pianist. Music is a huge part of who I am and how I express some of my deepest emotions. I also enjoy kayaking, taking long walks, and hanging out with my children and grandchildren.
I write in order to connect with others--soul to soul, heart to heart. I listen to and perform music in order to connect with and ignite creative energy. I like to put it this way:
Music puts me in touch with my emotions. Words, put my emotions in touch with my readers.
n book one of An Unlikely Romance, I get to combine my enjoyment of kayaking with my addiction to romance. I hope you will love reading the series as much as I love writing it.
I loved this story! Friends-to-lovers, amazing close knit friendship group (read the other books in the series if you want more of their stories), LIAM!!! He is such a sweet, sizzling hero. My ultimate favourite is Grams, who in her infinite wisdom says: 'In the end, I chose the path I knew would bring me the most happiness. And that path was your grandpa. It doesn't mean we never fought or had disagreements. We were constantly poking each other. But despite our differences, we made the decision to choose to love each other every day. And equally important, we chose to forgive each other every day.' Amen! Andie and Liam discover what reigniting their relationship could be like, and it's got ALL THE FEELS. 'Just the boy who took me to prom two years in a row. Just the boy who carved our initials in the trunk of a noble fir at the top of the canyon. Just the boy who gave me a necklace with a bicycle-built-for-two charm dangling from it, because it reminded him of our first date. Just the boy who wrote me an insanely long letter while serving after-school detention during our junior year. Just the boy who has remained my best friend for the past fifteen years, despite our painful parting when we went our separate ways to attend separate colleges. It's just Liam. And like he said, it's just a kiss.' Ah my heart!! I also really liked the way Andie's toxic relationship with Derek was dealt with too. 'Sometimes we have to allow our dream to die before we can clearly see that we've escaped a nightmare.' Liam was so protective towards Andie in the earlier books, I was not surprised at all that this only increased in this story. Swoon! Read this if you like a page turner, because you won't be able to put it down!
Just finished Liam’s Proposal and I’m totally in love with this book! 😍 Liam and Andie completely stole my heart. Their chemistry is off the charts, and I couldn’t get enough of their banter and those sweet, swoon-worthy moments.
Liam is everything you want in a romance hero—strong, caring, and just a little bit stubborn in the best way. And Andie? She’s got that perfect mix of independence and warmth that makes you root for her from the start. Together, they’re absolute magic.✨
What I adored most was how real their connection felt. The way they navigated their pasts and the challenges in front of them was so genuine, and it made every moment between them that much more special. Plus, the supportive side characters added so much charm to the story.
If you’re looking for a book that’ll make you smile, swoon, and maybe even tear up a little, Liam’s Proposal is definitely one to pick up. Trust me, you’ll fall in love with Liam and Andie just as much as I did! 💖
Liam is a sweetheart and I have loved him from the previous books in the series. I really enjoyed getting to know Andie in this book!
Things I loved about this book: -This friend group is so great. They know how to have fun, challenge each other, rib each other, but also are fully supportive in the moments that matter. -Andie doesn’t let Liam get away with the easy way out. I loved that she had expectations of him and made him do the work. -Liam and his reactions to things. His growling especially at his brother.
My favorite quote from the book: Nell often describes the four of us as overgrown puppies who like to chew each other’s ears and bite each other’s tails. I suppose there’s some truth in what she says, but when all is said and done, the four of us are a pack. Who knows, maybe we’ve finally grown our adult teeth. And now our pack is expanding. At one time, that thought would have made me a little sad, as if by expanding, we’d be dividing the group and weakening the glue that binds us together. But nothing could be further from the truth. Because the truth is, love is never divisive. There’s not a finite amount of it to go around. Love is infinite. Rather than dividing our share of the love, when we include others in the pack our ability to love only increases. It multiplies. And our pack becomes stronger as a result.
I thoroughly enjoyed reading Liam’s Proposal. Some of what I loved are:
- I love the characters and their relationships. I appreciate how Melinda included the teasing and love between the friends group. - The story flows well and further develops the relationships from previous books. I love how even though the story was about Liam and Andie, there were updates on each couple from your previous books. - I enjoyed getting more of a backstory about Liam and Andie. It really helped me understand what they’ve been through of the past 15 years. - I absolutely love Grams! She’s feisty and sneaky in a classy way. - I appreciate Melinda including an Epilogue to close up loose ends and complete the story.
I definitely recommend reading it.

Liam’s Proposal is book 3 in the An Unlikely Romance series. This is a true friends to lovers story. I don’t always like the friends to lovers trope (it seems fake and forced sometimes), but Melinda has done an amazing job. Liam and Andie felt real; their history felt real and not one bit forced or fake. I loved the banter between the two and I loved how no matter what Liam was always going to and protect Andie. I loved the fake dating too! They needed to be forced into this situation so they could figure out how they truly felt. Liam and Andie’s story is my favorite so far!
Gram is absolutely hilarious and I love how she convinced Layton to help her out with all her scheming. Even though they don’t always get along, the Graham family is always there for each other — it was truly special to read! Don’t even get me started on the dynamics between the whole friend group — their bond is truly exceptional. Be sure to read the first 2 books in the series to meet Max and Maziee, Nell and Larson, Alex and Bree!!
I very highly recommend this book and the whole series!! Thank you to Melinda for an ARC copy of this book! All opinions are my own.
I was already in love with Liam, but I think I fell even harder after finishing this AMAZING READ! I’m a sucker for fake dating, and this was one of the best executed storylines with that particular trope.
Grams and Layton quickly became two of my favorites, and I thought the Graham family dynamic was the perfect way to gain a deeper understanding of Liam.
There were plenty of swoon-worthy moments, and I highly recommend this read. It releases on August 31st & you can find it on KU!!
This is the 3rd book in the Unlikely Romance series, and I feel for Liam (MMC) hard! I have enjoyed these books and have really come to care about all these characters, but Liam has my heart! This book has fake dating, friends to lovers, and a scheming sexy brother who just likes to stir things up! Some scenes were written so well that I wanted to dive in and be the MFC. I loved this book and can't wait for the next one in the series!!!
Loved this one! Second chance, friends to lovers goodness with a ‘we never truly got over each other’🫠. I loved Liam & Andie together! And he is an avenging angel🤍. Loved Grams too and I can’t wait to see her mischief with Layton haha!
Such a fun story! Liam is such a sweetheart and it was so fun to see him continued from the first two books in the series. While it can definitely be read as a stand-alone, I’d recommend reading the first two before this one to get a full view of the characters! Friends to more is always one of my favorite tropes, and this was so well done. Definitely recommend this read!
Thank you Melinda for the ARC! All opinions are my own!
After reading this book, the title makes me laugh so hard 😂 Iykyk. I’ve loved every book in this series 📚 The banter 😘 the history 👀 between Andie and Liam, the found family 💗 and the meddling family 🙃 were all so amazing.
Andie. I love her character so much 🥰 She’s honest, kind, and dedicated 💪🏼 In her work and personal life 🥹 she puts her all in. I love the hold she has over Liam without even knowing it 🤭
Liam. He’s been my favorite 🤩 of the group since book one and his book did NOT disappoint 🤭 His southern drawl (darlin’ 😭🫠) 🤤 mixed with his playboy 😏 attitude just 🫠 he truly is a playboy though and this book shows the impact that an amazing woman 🥰 can have on a wild spirit like Liam’s. His relationship with his grandma too 🥹
Liams family CRACKED 👏🏻 ME 👏🏻 UP 👏🏻 I NEEEEEED a book for Layton 🤣 the protectiveness and the RESPECT Liam has is 🫠🥰😭🥹 and y’all I wanted to slap Derek into the next year.
⚠️CW: makeouts, MMC has a past being a bit of a rouge 🌶️ (nothing on page, just mentions of his past), fight scene, minor swearing, innuendo ⚠️
This was such a sweet read! I am a sucker for fake dating tropes and Mrs. Morgan did it perfectly. I absolutely fell in love with Andie and Liam and their love for one another. This book is perfect for you if you enjoy : -friends to lovers -fake dating -workplace romance -close knit friend group This book was the pick me up I didn’t know I needed!
*ARC REVIEW* I had the privilege of being selected as an ARC reader for Melinda and I devoured this series!! Liam and Andie's story was my favourite 👀 I love the writing style, I love the story and how it touches on important topics throughout the book and I loved their relationship throughout. It's a typical dale dating and friends to lovers style book but boy I loved it!
I wish I could give this book more stars it's so good that the main characters are so easy to like, and how they are with each other is so sweet at time you want to shout at Liam I know I did lol for being a typical bloke and can't see tbe wood for the trees but he gets with the programme and when he does its wow. All I can say it read it you won't be sorry
But did he propose? The angst and the meddling it seems that everyone knew that Andie and Liam belong together. At the beginning of the book my impression of Liam was not the best. He is at a work event with a date and his other date shows up. Did he accidentally ask two girls to the same event? Yes, yes he did. Did his pants pay for the indiscretion with red wine? Of course they did. Being introduced to Liam in that light gave me the impression that he would be one cocky son of a gun. What we really got to know was a man who was just in love with his High School sweetheart and was just so hesitant to make the move so that the friendship wouldn’t suffer. Andie on the other hand was just getting out of a 5 year relationship where she was cheated on(no we don’t like Dereck). The fake dating that leads to them actually talking about the past relationship and just overall communicating just shows how sometimes it is the wrong time but the right person. Personal growth plays a big part. The development between Andie and Liam is just stellar. They get each other and sometimes no words are necessary.
I was lucky enough to have the opportunity to read an ARC copy of Liam’s Proposal which releases on August 31st.
Liam and Andie’s story was sweet, funny and included a few of my favourite tropes such as fake dating, a found family friendship group, and a second chance friends-to-lovers romance.
They had great chemistry, banter and their friendship felt extremely realistic. Liam was super sweet, thoughtful and attentive, and it felt like he was always putting Andie’s priorities first, even if it meant hiding his true feelings.
Grams and Layton’s scheming made them instant favourites and it was clear that they only wanted what was best for Liam and Andie from the beginning. I’m really hoping we get to see more of Grams’ meddling in the future.
This was number three in the An Unlikely Romance interconnected standalone series and I will definitely be going back to read Alex and Larson’s books.
If you’re in the mood for a heartwarming tale that will make you smile, Liam’s Proposal by Melinda Morgan is a must-read! This sweet story follows two high school sweethearts who, despite drifting apart, have remained steadfast friends through life’s ups and downs. Both secretly harbor feelings for each other but are too afraid to jeopardize their cherished friendship. Morgan does a fantastic job of bringing these real, warm characters to life. The story is beautifully written with just the right amount of steam to keep things interesting. The banter between Liam and his love interest adds a delightful touch, keeping the narrative fresh and entertaining. Liam’s Proposal is a charming and engaging read that will tug at your heartstrings and leave you rooting for these endearing characters.
Liam’s Proposal was a light fun read. Reminiscent of a Hallmark movie, this light hearted romance just makes you feel good. After reading the first two books in this series, I have been looking forward to Liam and Andie’s story and I finally got to step into it and adore their friends to lovers story. It was also a pleasure to catch up with past characters and continue to enjoy their stories. It was like getting back together with my own group of friends. As a women’s self defense instructor, I also found myself almost cheering out loud during one particular scene. With the introduction of a new character, I’m glad to know there will be more to come. Disclosure: I received a free copy of this book to review.
All of Gram's efforts to drive Liam and Andie together unfolded without fail. While their fake dating blurred into real feelings, you could see the shifts and growth between Liam and Andie. They each were dedicated friends and once out of the "safe zone" there was no stopping the outpouring of feelings!
A very sweet and swoony, closed door romance with a second chance for the best of friends!
I read this book without reading the previous books in the Unlikely Romance series. While the previous couples make appearances frequently, the storyline and friendships are easy to follow and decipher. All points of a great interconnected standalone!
Thank you to Melinda R. Morgan for this ARC opportunity!
Friends to lovers, fake dating, & second chance romance. Three romance tropes that I love. I really enjoyed the concept of this book!
While this book is a standalone novel, I felt like reading the previous books would’ve given me more context into main character personalities.
I’d say 50% or more of the book surrounded the main characters work lives but it didn’t necessarily feel like the level of detail was relevant to plot or character development. It took away from the fun and cute romance aspects of the book. That pushes me more towards a 3.5 rating ⭐️That being said, I’m excited to see what this author write next!
Liam's Propsal is a closed door romance and the most it includes is some kissing with tongue. However, this was still a really cute book to follow along on. This was on the shorter side, but still held a lot of detail pertaining to the story.
Liam and Andie were high school sweethearts that went there seperate ways after school. They reconnected and are now close friends, but that all changes when Liam asks Andie to fake a relationship with him.
Even though there was no spice, I still enjoyed and absolutely love Liam and Andie!! This was a really great read by Melinda and if you haven't read the first books in An Unlikely Romance series, please do!!
Grams and Laydon were fun whenever they were on page!
As much as I loved the chemistry, love, and banter between Liam, I was equally pissed with how long the "fake" proposal stuff was dragged out and how their fallout was all miscommunication and annoying as it was very abrupt and without any closure. I would have loved some blast-from-the-past scenes to understand the high school them more.
Overall, it was a good, light-hearted read that made me smile almost the entire time while reading as if I was going down into a warm puddle.
Oh gosh this book is an immediate 5 Star! I couldn't put it down!! Liam is by far my favourite book boyfriend at the moment, I was fully invested from start to finish!
So super grateful to read this as an ARC 🥹 I'll never get over being lucky enough to to ARC reviews! 🥰
🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟/5 Wholesome! Not spicy 😍

This is the third book in the series and Liam and Andie were so cute together! I loved their strong friendship and how well they knew each other. The way they care for one another was so special. Andie has been the only woman Liam has ever loved and it showed in his protectiveness of her. Grams and Layton were hilarious and I loved getting to see the characters from the previous books. This is a second chance romance and it made me so happy that they finally got their HEA.
I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
The third book in this series, Liam's Proposal follows friends to lovers Liam and Andie, while still keeping us in the loop with the previous couples from books 1 and 2.
I loved this storyline - the characters were so relatable, and I especially enjoyed being able to delve deeper into Liam's character after the first books.
This swoonworthy romance was hard to put down-make sure to get your copy!
I was so lucky to be able to have early access to Liam's Proposal as a ARC read. This book was everything I love with a good romantic book! Liam and Andie's story was such a great one. One that felt like it could be so familiar and like it could happen to you. One that if you had a best mate that was the opposite sex growing up this could easily be you! Tropes include fake dating, friends to lovers. Grams was a favourite out of this story, such a sweet caring funny scheming cheeky grams. I have really enjoyed reading this and will be going back to read others. So easy to read and did not want to put down. Well done Melinda such a winner
I got the pleasure of reading this book and it to chapter 4 and couldn't go any further for me it was too much talk about business and land development that made it hard to progress any further I liked the prologue it made me laugh the fact the MMC got not 1 but 2 glasses of wine poured on him Tha characters were Likeable and apart from the business talk in chapter 2 the writing was easy to read
