WHO IS THE ULTIMATE BLACK CAT? Tensions rise between Spider-Man and Green Goblin in the wake of recent events! And a new villain steps up to the plate! What is her connection to the Black Cat on Kingpin's Sinister Six?

Really good entry in the series, and finally we get more Spider-Man action (“back in my day, there used to be multiple fights per issue, now you’re lucky if you get to see Peter in his suit…”). MJ acknowledging how ill-prepared she or Peter are for his new life was great, as was the reminder that the danger kinda turns her on.
Everything here was great, but I do have an issue. I don’t mind the slow pacing, but the fact that this is all supposed to be happening in real time is messing with things (I feel the same about Ultimate X-Men). Peter and Harry’s fight with Black Cat happened two whole months ago, but because last month was dedicated to the Ben/JJ Paper plot, we only now get to see the Six reacting to it. Why couldn’t the issue 10 Paper plot be weaved throughout issues 9, 10, and 11 so it unfolded alongside other things? I don’t know, I’m not Jonathan Hickman. I reread everything since issue 7 last week and I’m kind of shocked at how little has happened, and how little crime fighting this Spider-Man seems to do in his first year. Entire issues just talking about suit technology and interpersonal relationships and international conspiracies.
Again, all good stuff, and I can tell it’s building toward something… many things actually. But I’m getting a little impatient, is all. Each issue costs $5 and not every issue feels like it’s worth keeping up with monthly. There’s plenty of series that tell long overarching stories and still give you the goods every single issue. But I’m hanging in there.
always miss checchetto but this was a good read. it briefly kept me from thinking about how miserable it is to never be good enough to people you care about.
So this was very good as usual, I just wanted wished that Peter had met with Felicia in the way he met with Martin Li, as enemies, instead of Martin. I mean, that’s what I was expecting considering the cover…which was not a shocking thing to expect right?
So while that was a bit disappointing, the chat between Peter and Ben at the end, and definitely the talk between MJ and Pete absolutely made up for it. The talk between MJ and Peter was an absolutely necessary one and a clear organic development from the early issue where she finds out and takes it in stride.
I hope Ben doesn’t die but man that exchange at issue’s end definitely felt like foreshadowing.
Ultimate Spider‑Man #11 finally delivers on the Spider‑Man action—and still dives deep into character. It opens strong with Peter stopping a bank robbery by Mr. Negative, bringing back the quips and heroics that had been missing.
What follows is a more emotional chapter: a heartfelt conversation between Peter and MJ about fear and responsibility, and a quiet, powerful moment with Uncle Ben on the anniversary of Aunt May’s death.
Meanwhile, Kingpin quietly gathers the Sinister Six, setting up bigger things to come. The art is sharp and cinematic, capturing both the action and emotion.
A strong return to form that balances heroics and heart.
I mean, what can I still say? Well, maybe start off with the one tiny criticism I have for this issue in particular (kinda spoiler-ish) but the cover is a bit of clickbait, I’m not going to say in what sense but yeah, it is a little misleading and that’s why I’m only giving it four stars rather than five.
Otherwise, it’s still an excellent continuation of an excellent book, Hickman knows how to properly pace and build up characters, with some excellent moments that I can’t wait to see where they lead up. Still a masterpiece.
What to unpack here. Spider-man was at his most annoying, quipping and sending the bad running. M.J. was in her best form. She’s a mother and worried about what could happen. But Ben knew Peter’s secret and gave him the best advice he could. I like this Peter. He’s a dork, but he’s got the responsibilities weighing on him that make him a better hero than the other guy. He’s also got more to lose.
Another series that can't be enjoyed piecemeal. The Black Cat's entire first appearance consists of standing in the shadows of a single panel, mute. Parker wears a curated beard under a cloth mask? Perhaps masterful storyteller Hickman has never worn longjohns over hairy legs, but that's a recipe for unnecessary pain... but Petey's Spidey-tough, so it's okay.
Deception never gets rewarded with high praise. Deceptive cover, solicit, for what a single panel? Rest of the issue is a fair bit of dialogue, a missing person, identity issues, and some witty remarks.
Good to see some classic kind of action. Guest art again that's sometimes okay sometimes really goofy looking, and has some borderline traced shots from the Raimi films.
Really starting to notice the covers don't really show anything that happens in the comic itself.
Ben knows who Peter is ! A solid issue that just keeps the wheels moving on this hectic train. Black Cat is here and Ben knowing who Peter is…. Wow. I love how different this series has been compared to other Spider-Man stories. It’s so refreshing and keeps me excited for what’s next.
Cool to see Peter deal with a crime on his own. I liked the respect Mr. Negative had for Spider-man. Really cool scene between Pete and Ben too. I'm very excited for Christmas Spider-man.
First things first, the cover is a huge clickbait but at the same time, I feel that this issue had a sort of depth that was missing in some of the previous ones surely.
Another great issue. Finally seeing Peter handle crime, but also Ms. Negative comes on the scene. Also Felicia is so dang hot in this. Oh and the convo with Ben and MJ? Perfect.
Another good issue, pacing is feeling a bit slow and messy in places but the story remains strong and kinda carries. Art is consistent and eye catching so no complains there either.
