Hedonism: A Couple's Journey

Rate this book
When I first suggested it to Lauren, she just said no. A straight-up no. But then things slowly changed, and here we are, walking through the main lobby of our hotel. Oh wait, I probably should have said, the resort is called Hedonism II. You know the name, in fact, I'm sure a lot of couples talk about it in the heat of the moment.

Just the word is enough to spark images of the resort. Images of what you think it's like.

But even with all my fantasies, even with all my research, I had no real idea until we got there.

There are all sorts of people there. The exhibitionists with the bolt-ons who love showing off, and then the total opposite end of the spectrum, like my shy wife who wanted to just chill by the pool in the non-nude area and see what happened.

And then one night, after a few too many cocktails, we saw it, the image that would change our lives. As we walked around the corner, we saw this absolutely tiny redhead lying on her back on a table, with two guys absolutely using her for whatever they wanted. And that was the idea planted. That was the first time Lauren came face to face with what this place really was. There was just one question. Was Lauren watching the very well hung boys or the tiny redhead?

Welcome To Hedonism; this is our first time, and it's starting to get real!

interesting

Not sure how I felt about the story, but I gave 5 stars not for the story itself. I gave the stars for how it was written, the character development.
Ease of reading the “flow” story. It needed a conclusion, the woman humiliated the husband. Lauren showed total disrespect for her husband.

Starts great, horrible ending.

The book started great, and then the author totally ruined the story. Four couples visit a tropical resort called Hedonism.

Michelle - Bitch #1. jfc does she ever shut up? Loves to invade personal space and grab body parts. And the cruelty at the endof the book shows how big a bitch she and Lauren are.

Lauren - Bitch #2. She plans the public humiliation of her husband and Hayley's husband, Edward, with Michelle. Lauren wants to break the agreement she and her husband have to not have sex with others on this trip. So she and Michelle manipulate Lauren's husband into a situation he isn't fully comfortable with, but feels like he can't back out of, and part of him doesn't want to. He has a quickie with Hayley on a picnic table, so Lauren uses it against him to have an all-night full f*ck with Michelle's husband. "I'm not asking you, I'm telling you I'm going to f*ck him." She doesn't care about her husband's feelings or what he might have wanted from the experience. It's all about what she wants. She tells her husband multiple times, "It's only this one time, I promise." Dude, she's lying. Dump this woman.

Hayley - Bitch #3. She helps Michelle and Lauren publicly humiliate her husband so that she can have sex with Lauren's husband.

Lauren's husband - conflicted, aroused, and angry. It would be nice to see a guy actually grow a spine and stop the situation and force a real conversation with his wife. Why didn't he leave? Why didn't he push Michelle away? Is he blameless here? No. But his treatment in the final chapters is beyond horrible and ruined the whole book for me.
A better plot twist would have been for him to answer Lauren when she asks, "Just this one time, I promise," and say no. Then get up from the bed and tell her that she lied and manipulated people to arrange this, and he doesn't agree, then leave. See what she does. Then he would not have been at the mercy of her manipulation. This marriage is in trouble unless he has no balls and lets her manipulate him every time she wants to have sex with another man.
And what is with never knowing Lauren's husband's name?

The problem with this book is that the issues of jealousy and feelings are never dealt with. Michelle loved rubbing "consequences" into his face. Where are the consequences for the women lying, manipulating, and humiliating their husbands?

I gave this book 2 stars because it started really great. But the longer I thought about it, the angrier I got, and I reduced it to 1 star.

I won't read another book by this author.

There is a plot to Hedonism: A Couple's Journey by Leah Jenkins. A couple takes their holiday at a notorious resort and by the end they are part of why the notoriety is applicable. The progress of our ready for it husband and not so much so wife is step wise, time consuming and almost not important. We know where this is going and the process tends to read more like a how to, or travel guide. How to books do not need a plot.

The predictable last night all in party was for me a bit of a let down. I do not like a part of the MC couple being humiliated, or maybe just over whelmed. A good time should be had by all and more than once.

Too mechanical, too much of a how too. In fairness it seems like first time is a major thread in swinger, cuck and cukqueen, but as everyone has pretty much the same second thoughts. A better writer should have something making their version, unique to the book.

Powerful beginning for a couple making a cautious move into the swinging lifestyle’.

Hedonism is a resort catering to casual nudity and sexual activities. Our main couple has discussed it from time to time, mainly the husband, as a never happen idea. Well, through unexpected events, it does happen. Some things they got into and liked, it was exciting. By the end, the husband felt pretty much overwhelmed, not so much the wife. Fair amount of hot action. Interesting read.

I chose this book by it's cover and by it's name. I was disappointed. When I see Hedonism I expected to read about an orgy/ debauchery in action. In other words multiple sexual event with more than 1 or 2 people. I know the word hedonism mean more than this but this is erotic literature I expeected more.

A trip to Hedonism challenges and enthralled a couple

A brilliantly told and created story of a couple meeting up with three other couples at Hedonism. The shared enthusiasm builds gradually to a surprisingly erotic climax. Highly recommended.

Building the Anticipation

I was impressed by how the author built the tension and kept it going to the end. Really enjoyed this- well done Leah!
