Ask my Abyss deep dive you into this time. Extracting theories of thoughts wrapped in blankets of soul ,surfing through the fullness of voided heart eventually rising like musings of poetic mind, Ask My Abyss answers it all. It answers turmoils, It answers black, It answers toils. It bring you back. This book is for poetry readers who are seeking depth and simplicity in each line of the book.
… how far have you reached while I write, she asks at the end of her book …
I find it interesting, at the outset, that the poet talks about growing up in the foothills of the Himalayas. For I’ve trekked there and climbed there, as high as Everest base camp, and a nearby peak that soars to 18,500 feet (Kala Patthar) though there are different readings when it comes to its height. I still have my bells and singing bowls and rice paper woodcuts from the monastics at Thyangboche. (The monastery burned down in 1989 and was rebuilt.) No, I was not part of one of those tourist climb groups. I did it myself with a friend and a wonderful Sherpa companion.
Here Ms. Sharma’s poetry includes what I will call her sublime silver thoughts, thoughts that slip in under the skin like sharp and precise needles, as well as numerous and luminous lit lines about her ongoing quest for authentic life, a quest she draws us into and makes our own search - what the Blackfeet who live near me would call a vision quest.
She moves silently and thoughtfully, and can take you by surprise with her thoughts, and her long reaches into what may be true in our lives and the living things around us (which is everything). Her poems have a deceptive and profound simplicity that strike far into the mind and spirit.
. . . .
How far have you reached while I write Have you ever extracted rainbow from white light
. . . .
Maybe I will walk a little bit more Fall more than I thought Love more than I fought Maybe I will feel a little bit more Numbness of heartbeat Intense emitted heat Maybe I will drive a little bit more Underneath the sea of thoughts Deserted sand The cracked drought Maybe I will live a little bit more Surviving till moon bathed in light Reaching no where The circular flight Maybe I will walk a little bit more More than I believe Hoping for calm A gasp of breath in breathe 🌺
Thought-provoking reading. I really enjoyed this book and particularly liked 'Life gets its meaning' and 'How far have you reached'. I would recommend to all who enjoy poetry and the deeper essence of life. I will enjoy exploring Nitika Sharma's other books.

Life is a path of roses and thorns. Nitika has beautifully shown it in this book of hers through poetry. This book is a must for those who love poetry & even for those who are not into it as they too would love it. It helps to soothe the pain as there is no life without pain and pain is not permanent. Keep giving us more such books of poetry Nitika.
Ask my abyss is such a lovely book I was asked to review this by the author and I'm so glad I did, her words really stuck with me and broke my heart on certain parts I hope the author knows how beautiful her work is and I'll definitely be reading more.
My favorite quote from her book was "Find your comfort in chaos" I will be getting this tattooed
I read these poems before bedtime, and I found them to be very soothing and reflective. It is a short read, and this collection is good for multiple readings. A passionate exploration of the soul’s journey and the ongoing quest to achieve fulfillment in darkness, and in light. I will share some words that felt resonant to me. I’m not posting spoilers.
“The moment when sun talked to solitude & soul smiled.”
You should explore the collection yourself I promise you will enjoy it! A wonderful addition to any library.
It seems to me that the author wants to dig into the depths of all those things that have remained suspended within herself, the title is captivating and so is the cover, profound verses await me
Thank you Nitika for the honour of asking me to review your precious book. Facades is my favourite. Each of us contains an abyss, few are aware of its vastness. Keep writing, keep growing towards the light.
Poetry always holds a soft spot in my heart, and much like the author, poetry came to me first in the form of pain. I really enjoyed reading these poems. The large text in the middle of poems confused me at first I thought there was an issue but I learned it was all style. I was asked by the author on Goodreads to read and review this book (without compensation) and I'm glad I did. It made my night off a wonderful one. I'm looking forward to reading more of her poetry and other works.

The author's evocative prose draws the reader into a world of enigmatic characters and thought-provoking scenarios. The narrative unfolds with a mesmerizing blend of tension and introspection, leading to a gripping and emotionally resonant climax. This book is a must-read for anyone fascinated by the complexities of human nature and the intricacies of the human mind.
If you're looking for a novel that challenges conventional thinking and delves into the depths of human experience, Ask My Abyss by Nitika Sharma is an excellent choice.
First, if you read the About the Book on Amazon, you will see that it needs serious editing. Fortunately, it is not indicative of the rest of the book. There are some slight grammatical errors that I am not sure are errors. They could be part of the poetic voice. Poetry has no rules. Many of the poems in here are short, yet impactfull sentences. Brevity can be beauty. Many of the longer poems have a great rhyme scheme. If you like poetry, I recommend this book.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. The author is very gifted in writing poetry and radiating inspiration. "Stay Still" was my favorite poem. It's so raw and so deep. I highly recommend this work of art.
Love this poetry book . Love the language the meanings and words. A very talented interesting writer here Look forward to reading more ! My fave was ‘stay still ‘

Nitika Sharma asks us to go deeper into the human heart with the beautiful poetry collection Ask My Abyss! The abyss, the void, these dark spaces often associated with shadow and sadness. Sharma takes these spaces and makes something beautiful and healing out of them with this meaningful set of poems! We travel on a road of light through the darkness, eventually finding ourselves in a better place. I loved how these were poems about healing through the emptiness and finding fulfilment again. This was an interesting and moving look at the human soul and the endless endurance of the heart, perfect for anyone looking for some deep insights or healing this season!
Ask My Abyss" is a mesmerizing collection of poetry that delves into the depths of human experience with raw emotion and lyrical finesse. Each poem is a journey through the complexities of life, love, loss, and self-discovery, inviting readers to confront their own abysses and ask the difficult questions. With haunting imagery and profound insights, the poet navigates themes of identity, longing, and existential ponderings, leaving an indelible mark on the reader's soul. This book is a testament to the power of poetry to illuminate the darkest corners of our minds and hearts, offering solace and understanding in a world fraught with uncertainty.
I read these poems over the past three days as I drank my morning coffee and it was a great way to quietly reflect and relax before getting into a busy day of work. My particular favorite was Facades.
I would encourage any reader to go through this work slowly, even read out loud. You don't need to analyze every word but you should take the time to let them process through your head so you can better absorb them.
very moving work of poetry that leaves no corner of one's emotional psyche unexposed. At times harsh and sharply written and others, leading into the light with warm feeling lines and sentences. Recommend this to all readers of poetry, and even avid readers in general. You will be moved by this artist's effort. well done
The deep thinking and lovely poetry, in this book, touches your heart, mind and soul. It helps you think about where your going and where you've been in life. And hopefully you won't just continue to walk blindly through this world and life, but cherish each day!
What an awesome book. The author's poetry is very powerful and emotional. The author writes on topics such as love and sorrow, which everyone can relate to. This book is an inspiration. A must read! A++
I really enjoyed the poems, well done. The one Destiny stood out for me. It spoke to me at this moment of time. "The chess ruled pawn." really hit me on an emotional level. That is what you hope for in such a work, so thanks. Loved it. Looking to be moved, this book will have something for you.
A wonderful collection of short poems. Although poetry isn't necessarily my first choice of literature, it's great to read something new and thoughtful. I enjoyed the longer poems a bit more and would have loved to see more of those to keep me captivated longer.
I thought this was a lovely book of poetry. The subjects are meant for introspection and if I could give this a 4.5 stars, I would. I only took off half a star for cadence in some areas. Otherwise, I truly enjoyed reading Sharma's poetry. It takes on a life of its own.
