The following ratings are out of 5: Narration: 🎙🎙🎙🎙 Romance: 💙💚🖤💜❤️ Heat/Steam: 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 Story/Plot: 📕📗📘📔📙 World building: 🌎🌍🌏🌎🌍 Character development: 😭😖😔😋🥰
The heroine:Rowan Callahan - she carefully planned her life and career as a lawyer and it was going downhill fast when a plane fell from the sky in Chicago, right on top of the building holding the vicious people that were bent on destroying her reputation. She knew immediately that something big was occurring and she ran towards her family farm in Michigan where her father prepared for situations just like this.
The Heroes:Graham Buchanan and Zachariah Sawyer - best friends since their military days, they led a Force Recon Team in the Middle East. After getting out, they opened a ranch for themselves and their brothers in arms, to make a new life for themselves. After the world went into Chaos, his team kept watch around the perimeter of the ranch like it was a military base in Afghanistan.
The Story: Rowen takes her backpack full of survivor gear, which was packed by her father on his last visit. It included about everything she would need to live off the grid, including a sleeping bag, a tent, a taser, a water filtration device and more. As she left the city, within ten minutes, looting had already begun, fires could be seen throughout the city, and gunshots could be heard.
Over a week later, Rowen is deep in the woods of Michigan and hears a scream coming from a farm when she sneaks up on the plate she sees a few men abusing a woman. She accidentally makes some noise and gives herself away and ends up being chased by the men and getting hurt in the process when she is intercepted by Graham.
The book was told in multiple points of view in dual narration by Elena Wolfe and Connor Crais. I really enjoy both of these narrators. Elena has a soft but clear voice and does different voices for supporting characters. She also does a great job showing emotions in her voice. Connor Crais has a deep sexy voice that worked well for Graham and Zach who were sexual beasts and had shared many women in the past.
I must say, I really liked this apocalyptic romance. It is nice that both the heroine and the Heroes were so prepared for the situation. Doomsday preppers are all paranoid crazy people until the things they are prepping for actually come to pass and then they are the best ones to be with when that comes. Though the guys weren’t really doomsday preppers like Rowen’s father, they were just military Heroes still living that life they left.
The menage aspect was super steamy and what could be better than two handsome tough elite military men to protect and love you during the apocalypse and I kind of love the fact that the apocalypse is just a regular one not a zombie apocalypse. I really liked the way this story went and how the relationship between Graham, Zach and Rowan progressed.
I'm not a big fan of dystopian novels but I am a big fan of M/F/M romance books so this one is definitely right up my alley.
The apocalypse is coming...or better said it's already here. The world (or maybe just the USA) has lost all power and energy resources so no more light, water, telephones, cars...basically the world has moved back a few hundred years and without no rules there is only chaos.
Rowan doesn't wait to see what happens. "Armed" with a survival backpack given to her by her father she starts on a journey to get back to her family but things are tough out there and after almost being captured she ends up in a camp in the middle of the wood that's owned by former military men and build like a fortress.
Ohhh...and did I mention all the guys are hot?
It doesn't take long for Ro to become Graham and Zach’s and then we are treated to some HOT HOT sex :P
Ro still wants to go find her family but Zach and Graham don't want to let her go. And when the men that tried to capture her at the beginning finally succeed the guys have to get her back because they realize that their relationship goes beyond just sex...
But things aren't easy and soon Graham and Zach realize that they have to chose between Ro and the only family they have left...their brothers.
Considering the end of the world is coming we can't expect much of a happy ending but for this three there is one...in form of a...

Overall Opinion: Dang, this was a disappointment. I have decided that I really enjoy the survival/post apocalyptic type romance and I was happy when I found this one on loan through my library. Sadly, it was a mess for me. I didn’t connect with any of the characters, I thought it was way too instalove, the h drove me bonkers, and either I missed it or I was just never really understanding what the disaster really was that put them in this situation. Overall, it just didn’t feel well thought out and an excuse to have a ménage romance that might be considered acceptable — especially for a $7 book! Thank goodness I found it at my library...
Brief Summary of the Storyline: This is Rowan, Graham, and Zach’s story. Rowan is a lawyer whose career is crumbling when disaster strikes Chicago that has her on the run towards her doomsday-prepping, vet Dad and sister. Graham and Zach come across Rowan when she is running from some unsavory characters and take her into their compound that is run by ex commandos. There is some head butting, some sexy times, some suspenseful moments, and some instalove...and they get a HEA ending.
Point Of View (POV): This alternated between focusing on Rowan, Graham, and Zach in 3rd person narrative.
Overall Pace of Story: Good. It flowed well and I never skimmed.
Instalove:Yes. Way too instalove for me!
H1 (Hero #1) rating: 2.5 stars. Graham. I struggled with him. He was an unredeemed jerk IMO with some major abandonment issues.
H2 (Hero #2) rating: 3 stars. Zach. He was alright. I did like how he was the light and upbeat character in the trio.
h (heroine) rating: 2 stars. Rowan. I struggled with her too — a lot. She was ‘sassy’ to the point of being a B and she also had some tstl moments that left me frustrated.
Sadness level: Low, no tissues needed
Push/Pull: Yes
Heat level: Hot. They have some hot tension, chemistry, and scenes -- but not so much it takes away from the story. MFM ménage.
Descriptive sex: Yes
OW (Other Woman)/OM (Other Man) drama: No
Sex scene with OW or OM: No
Cheating: No
Separation: Yes
Possible Triggers: Yes Violence/assault/murder (on page) and captivity/rape (side character off page)
Closure: This ends in a pretty good place with them in a committed relationship and she has their baby and what I would say is probably a HEA in a post apocalyptic type story.
Safety: This one should be Safe with exception for most safety gang readers - Does Not have cheating - Does Not have a descriptive sex scene with OW/OM - Does have the h and H1 pushing away - Does have a separation between the h and Hs - Does Not have abuse by mcs - Does (kind of) have a HEA ending
Dystopian Society and MMF? Okay, I’ll give it a go. I’m disappointed that this isn’t a full on series. There’s another book in this series and it’s a novella, so I questioned if I should have even started it, but I did.
This book has a lot of angst and selfish people. I liked everyone, but the main characters. Okay maybe I liked Zach a little.
Ro is the Heroine and she is VERY selfish and at times stupid. She only thinks about herself and doesn’t take a second to explanation the situation. She runs into a group of men, who go out of their way to help her and make sure she heals from an ankle injury.
Graham and Zach have taken an interest in Ro and why not, there’s only one other woman in camp and she’s already married. I get it. But the relationship between the three is hard to read. Just a lot of miscommunication and forced steamy time.
Ro is intent in leaving and going somewhere BUT she doesn’t explain why. When you learn the reason, it’s oh so stupid to keep it a secret and lot of angst was there for nothing.
The writing was really descriptive… like pages and paragraphs of descriptive writing where it was to the point I was skimming. It was just too much fluff.
HOWEVER!
There’s something to be said for the world the author created. I do like the fact it hasn’t been a dystopian society for long and so it explains all the supplies the men had.
I liked the side characters, I wouldn’t mind the story of Allison and the baby girl. They are cute.
I’m not sure if I will continue with Lia’s story only because it’s a novella and it looks like the author abandon this series. Maybe if more books are written.
4 Stars for Flash Bang (audiobook) by Meghan March read by Elena Wolfe and Connor Crais.
Attorney Rowan Callahan is fleeing Chicago with whatever she can carry as the power grid collapses. She is injured when two men find her and take her back to their camp. Her priorities are changing as these men become an important part of her life.
★☆I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review. Thank you!!☆★
It started with a plane. And then the world went to sh*#.
No zombies. No deadly viruses unleashed.
What could be the cause that led to Rowan "Ro" Callaham’s seamless world falling apart in an instant?
Now with an apocalypse taking over the United States, Rowan must gather her strength to make it out of the city to find her family before trouble comes looking for her or die.
Armed with a first aid kid and basic living necessities, she crosses path with two ex military operatives only to be tempted into her greatest battle yet.
Will she do what she’s always done in the past and put everything first before family?
And when these two sexy men come up with two terms that she cannot refuse, what will become of their fate when it evokes a painful memory that Rowan desperately wants to leave behind? Will she surrender to the throes of passion? Or will she fall so deeply that she’ll never want to let go? One thing is for certain: Rowan is Graham and Zach’s "ONE" and they are prepared to do anything it takes to keep her…Even if it means losing their hearts...
My thoughts:A stellar debut for Ms. Meghan March!
Honestly speaking, and I am not just saying this because I had gotten the opportunity to review this book’s ARC, Flash Bang actually made me want even more from this series. While I got to witness Rowan’s, Graham (of whom Rowan affectionately calls “Conan” from Conan the Barbarian), and Zach’s story take flight, I was actually also hoping for Jonah+his wife+and daughter to have their own separate story line +++ as well as Graham and Zach’s other comrades (like Cam and Lia?) getting some lady or man lovin'. *wink wink* ;)
But MOST IMPORTANTLY, I want a Beau book! Maybe I’m just bias because Beau is the name of my late brother but his really intrigued me into wanting to know more about him.
Trust me guys. I found myself just blasting through this book without even checking how much more I had left to get to the end. *And why yes, I do guiltily do have hang-ups like that!* But, thankfully in this book’s case I did not have this problem at all. In fact, I wanted to see more to see more of the aftereffect of the apocalypse and the reasoning behind what started it in the first place. I just felt as if I was kind of stunted in the whole apocalyptic setting since pretty much the entire story (for the most part) dwells in this super camp that these ex military trained men set up and everything you could need or want is in that secluded facility away from the rest of civilization. It kind of made everything feel sort of surreal in a sense like there wasn't really an apocalypse that occurred.
And the ending of this story! Gah! How did I know that it was going to end like that after Rowan's dad started making comments about the secrecy of their camp location?! It was like a self-fulfilling prophecy come true! Aaah! I need MORE!!
Gosh, please consider writing a book two!! Pretty please?!
Rowan Callahan is having a really bad day, the man she thought was interested in her set up a threesome with his dominatrix sidekick something To very much was not interested in. When she refused they started rumors that destroyed her professional career. When a plane hits a building in her city Rowan's father's training kicked in and she grabbed her bugout bag and setnout to find her family. Days of walking with the city going to hell around her and Rowan stumbles across a horrid scene as she meets a group of men in the process of attacking a woman, unable to help and about to be attacked herself Rowan flees to get help. She finds a compound fenced and out comes a giant akin to Conan with an attitude to match. The last thing Rowan expected to find in the midst of a hunting/survivalist camp is love especially with two men
************ Ok this didn't work for me I like strong h's but Rowan was of the overly stubborn TSTL variety, she was hurt but constantly tries to escape without explaining her reasons in a world rife with struggle. G was bossy to the extent that he ordered her around and lack of communication had them always arguing Zach was more laid back and tried to reason with them both. He and his best friend and former Marine commander have shared women for years but G has always been reluctant to keep one. From the first meeting he knows Rowan is the one for them
The sex was just.....meh. One would think in a menage the sexy times would be off the charts hot but nope it sucked lol.
Allll-most three stars. The author's voice was the saving grace here.
I really really wanted to like this one. It started out so well! Well-prepared people face the apocalypse? And are seemingly reasonable? With the promise of hot sex? YES PLEASE.
But then the plot descended into conflict by stupidity with a dose of you've got to be kidding me and here we are at a two star rating.
First Ro tries to break out of the compound (where she's safe, clean, warm, and fed and in no way an actual prisoner), despite being injured. Surprise! She's further injured! But does that stop her from trying to escape? OF COURSE NOT. Well, surely she wouldn't be so foolish as to attempt to leave almost immediately following a break-in by some well-established all-around nasty characters? SHE WOULD. Because she's plucky. And a little dumb.
Lest you think I'm picking on poor Rowan, she's not the only one not using their grey matter to its fullest. At one point Graham, instead of trying to talk down the clearly traumatized and twitchy Lia, lunges for her while she's holding a gun. Sure, braintrust. You do that and see how it works out. GOOD GRIEF. Extra spoiler: He gets shot. DUH. (It's not major, he lives, all is well, blah blah blah...except he keeps on being a big dummy but in different, equally frustrating ways.)
Also, I wasn't fond of how the dilemma of staying or going was solved. How convenient. Blah.
Grumbling aside, the writing is good. Smooth & very readable. I was engaged by Ms. March's voice almost immediately, and am going to try more from her in the future with hopes of the conflicts and plot devices lifting the story instead of dragging it down.
Definitely give it a read if you like post-apocalyptic stories. Like I said, there's a strong voice here that's very readable. Maybe you won't be as bothered by the things that bugged me and will find the whole thing way more enjoyable--I hope you do!
4 Star Read: First off I have to thank my girl for gifting this series to me. I happen to enjoy reading apocalyptic stories. What is even better is that Flash Bang<\b> isn't you average apocalypse story.
FB begins with an apocalyptic event, but that is not the focus. It more of trials and tribulations tale of a young woman, who has just been hit with a Shit storm at work, now must travel by foot to get home to her family.
Upon her travels, she witnesses a woman being brutally attacked by wood dwelling red necks. She's unable to assist the woman because she finds herself on the run from the same inbred sexual deviants, where she stumbles upon her future full of sexual gratification with not one but two men.
Oh, yes there is more to the story, lots more. For example, I love Ro's quick wit smart tongue. Her defiant nature. The love and determination she has to make it to her family.
I do feel that as the reader I need more from the individual characters. The only character I had a tiny bit of interest in their outcome was Ro. Trust me it was a tiny bit. The apocalyptic tale itself felt like a character and the story as a whole kept me reading until the cliff hanger ending, I was expecting.
Among some of my favorites. Outstanding literary work. The characters are well developed, interesting. The liked characters are likable and the hated are unlikable. The writing is captivating enough to keep you interested until the end and leave you wanting more. It has a fairly original or uniquely well-developed plot. The pretense and romance were well balanced and done with properly distributed amounts of hints, behaviors, and chemistry. Not so much predictable if at all. Overall, loved it, I recommend reading!!
This is the incredibly rare DNF. It's a short novel that I looked forward to reading, mistakenly thinking it was an apocalyptic thriller. Um, no. This is porn. I'm no prude, but I could not read it.
This was an ok read. A sexy m/f/m romance set at the beginning of the (maybe) apocalypse, but a fairly shallow story, it sadly missed the mark for me.
Rowan is an attorney who has completely focussed her life on her career. But all of that becomes pointless when the US (at least, the parts of the US where the story is set, we never really find out the full extent of the damage) is hit with an EMP blast. Immediately all electronics are dead, and being the daughter of a prepper and anticipating the chaos to come, Rowan packs up her essentials and starts the long trek home to her family, and safety.
When she inevitably runs into trouble and is injured along the way, Rowan is rescued by a bunch of badass commandos who are ideally set-up in a well-stocked compound in the woods. She is eagerly welcomed into the group – in particular by two best friends who love to share women… and we can all see where this is going to go.
The romance is sexy and really fast moving, with plenty of drama and not a whole lot of chemistry. There’s a lot of alphaness and possessive claiming, some double-teaming, and then grand declarations of love and forever. But Rowan never intended to stay and is determined to return to her family, creating tension when she tries to leave the two men who are very intent on keeping her.
It’s angsty and dramatic, and I’m sad to say, I wasn’t really feeling it. I think the whole thing just moves to quickly for me. I didn’t feel the love between the main characters – there’s lust, for sure, but nothing beyond that, and the drama is annoyingly avoidable. There’s also very little world building - is it the whole US? Is it just the US? Is it an attack or a natural disaster? We don’t know, and we don’t find out, and we have no idea what is happening in the outside world, instead focussing on the goings on within the commando compound, Rowan’s sexy times with her men, and the push and pull of their ‘relationship’ that I just found annoying.
The next book in the series is set up already, with a second woman being rescued by the commandos and having trouble recovering from her ordeal at the hands of sick and perverted country bumpkins. I’m not sure if I’ll read that book, but at least I’ll go into it knowing what to expect.
the only thing even remotely interesting about this is the post apocalyptic setting and even that fell short. The steam is so out of place, dirty talk is corny, it’s insta love and another one of those romances where the FMC gets pregnant in the end! Skimmed through most of this and I’m sure i didn’t really miss much except my chance to DNF.

This was an entertaining change of pace. I listened to it when the audio came out, and *whew!* it is hot. I loved the world building, Rowan's strength, and the men she finds herself protected by when the world as she knew it changed.
For Rowan Callahan when all the electronics suddenly get wiped out it seems like the last ten years, including the cluster fuck of the last couple of weeks, get wiped away as well and she slips back to being the country girl with the ex-marine father who has prepared her for exactly how to survive. But she comes across more than she can handle on the way back to her home ranch and her family and the two men who seem to want to protect her, also want her in their bed and with them forever.
I have finished this book and yet I am still searching…where are the zombies? The aliens? Maybe even the Russians? All staple fair when dealing with post apocalyptic tales of survival. All we had was an electromagnetic pulse (EMP) that wiped out electronics nationwide and then the world went to hell fast. I admit, I am still holding out for some little green men, but a apart of me was relieved from the break in tradition.
Whilst I was reading I also compiled a list of all the things I will need in an post apocalyptic world, and this is what I came up with
*x2 sexy former Marines (Although I am not picky, any branch of the military will satisfy me so long as they have skills.) *Lube
I admit, this is a short list, but I feel it covers everything, unless Meghan March is leading me astray…! Graham and Zach, the above mentioned marines were delicious, growly and commanding in some places, sweet and sexy in others with some advanced bedroom skills to round it all up. And I really enjoyed seeing, Rowan, Graham and Zach fall into their menage relationship, they had some pretty hot chemistry going on and I relished every minute of it.
All this was set in a ranch that had been geared up for all emergencies, including the end of the world and was choc full of sexy military types. I haven’t seen anything mentioned about turning this into a series, but I really hope it does, there seem to be a lot of potential stories, as well as solving the mystery of who (or what?!) set of the EMP in the first place. The latter being something that was never really addressed in this book.
This was a great read, sexy and full of emotional upheaval with such great potential for more in the future.
The Good: I needed to change things up, and what better way than a post-apocalyptic menage, right? Yes, totally. I’ve read Ms. March’s work before, but since it was NOT in this vein (more contemporary tattoo artist romance), I wasn’t sure what direction she would choose, whether it would be sex as the focus with little background or survivalist tale with a bit of sex thrown in for kicks.
I think the story is a decent blend of both and I enjoyed the attention to detail as far as the camp Graham and Zach are a part of when the world goes to hell in a handbasket. If you have to stumble around in the wilderness, may we all be so lucky to to come upon a group of hot, protective soldiers who can defend you and the place you’re living in from crazy redneck meth heads. Just saying.
The Bad and Everything in Between: The condensed timeline is an issue for me because this tries to have it both ways as far as the choices Rowan makes. She’s mistrusting yet humps Graham’s leg almost immediately. The guys are pretty insta-loving it, ready for a relationship after a couple of hours, yet considering the survivalist mentality, it just didn’t seem to jibe with their personalities.
I understand when a romance has a romance take place over a short period of time that allowances must be made for it. However, it’s an apocalypse, so...yeah. Survival of the fittest should include also not the dumbest. Emotionally, shortcuts were also taken and I can understand it even if it felt a bit rushed and then wrapped up in a convenient way.
I liked it, and the menage is fun, even with certain issues of timing and stupidity. But since this is the first in what appears to be a series, I’m willing to stick it out and see how it develops.

ok, I'm about to rant and complain for a while, so be warned if you're not in the mood for bitchiness. After my unsuccessful attempt at reading Sea of Ruin, I was in the mood for a menage, and digged this thing up from the depths of my TBR where it has languished for at least a couple of years at this point. I only made it to chapter eight before I completely lost interest. Flash Bang is not terrible, but it's so abismally generic that I deemed it not worth my time. If you never read anything similar, I guess you could do worse, but everything about is so damn cliche, I found myself snoozing every two sentences. I do not need to read this novel to know exactly what is coming, and to me, that is a far worse offence than it being bad. If it were terrible, I may at least remember some of it, instead of forgetting all about it two seconds after being done with it. The writing style is serviceable, but not great. If this wasn't the third or fourth book I had to DNF in 2021 (despite the fact that it's only February) I may be inclined to be more forgiving, but alas, that is not the case.
What you can expect:
-Generic world building that is never truly explained -Unrealistic and convinient scenarios -Generic cutboard characters you've seen in a million different romance novels -Insta love -Contrived, dramatic situations that would not happen if the mcs would just communicate like normal people -Annoying female protagonist -Asshole alpha males
If you're on the market for something similar but a bit better, try Reawakening by Charlotte Stein. I'm thinking of rereading and reviewing that one, but from what I can remember, it's better written than this, at least from an emotional perspective.
Cliffhanger: Not exactly. Lead in for the next book, but not a cliffhanger. HEA: Yes Cheating: No Rape: No, but some hints of a secondary character having been brutally gang-raped. No descriptions, just side mentions Violence: Yes, some fight scenes POV: 3rd person alternating Sensuality level (1 being kissing only and 5 being Penthouse Letters graphic:: 3, menage scenes, explicit and graphic descriptions Grammar errors/typo level (1 being what you'd see in any book, 5 being this read like a rough draft): 1
This book was great. I enjoyed the story (although it could have used a zombie) and I loved the characters. Ro was kickass and determined and the men were pure alpha ex marines. It has a sort of cliff-hanger, so I really hope there is a next one as there are lots of characters that could get their own stories!
This book is horrible but that’s just my minority opinion. Clearly there are plenty of people who enjoy this kind of porn and to hell with plot lines and character arcs. A 3.9 on goodreads is pretty good after all. The synopsis lead me to believe it was some sort of post apocalyptic survival novel, boy was I wrong.
Flash Bang is a book I've been meaning to read for ages, so I'm glad to say that I finally got around to it, and it was good - a little different to Meghan March's other books, but I enjoyed it.
I liked the whole 'apocalypse/end of the world as we know it' scenario, it added some action/suspense to the storyline. This book did have the expected hot times/chemistry between Rowan, Zach and Graham. The ending of the book was a little open-ended, so I'm hoping the story gets wrapped up a bit more in the novella.
Rowan Callahan life as an attorney has been destroyed by co-workers, which she worked very hard at creating. Rowan missed Christmas, bdays, most holidays to keep her career first. Now a plane has hit Chicago and the end of the world is coming (military breaded) now none of that matters because she must get to her father & sister the best way her father has trained her.
On her way to her family farm now six days of hiking it Rowan stumble into so trouble and now has to run for her life. As she runs away from trouble she believes she has broken her ankle and stops for rest. As she stop she not aware that she has trips over some silent alarms and thats where she meets Graham which is camouflage from face to army attire. Graham not knowing the danger carries Rowan over the shoulder back to his ranch. Rowan tries to escape because is this the same trouble she found earlier, but fails. As Graham sits Rowan down after he gets back behind the gate at the ranch Rowan meets Zach (the charmer) Graham best friend and the other people that live on the deer ranch.
Graham & Zach decide they want to keep Rowan but Rowan is up against time to meet her family because she knows they are waiting on her. Rowan doesn't want to let them down. Graham & Zach has always share everything with a menage and its no different with Rowan. They proposed a deal with Rowan that they would escort her home if she share their bed and once her injuries healed they would take her home. But now that they had her they don't want to let her go.
I enjoy a good apocalypse book and was not opposed to the subject matter of this book, but it fell flat. Not enough substance, character development and way too many eye-rolls on my end. I expected more out of a highly rated five dollar indie read, which is why I chose it. Typically there is a good reason behind the higher price tag, but it's just an over-inflated ego, probably from untruthful enthusiastic friends who eat too much five alarm chili with jalapeños after being double teamed.
