thank you so much rainelyn for giving me the chance to arc read this novella 🖤 there was so much happening at one point that i got the biggest whiplash. like th pumpkin house ?! i literally was like “mmm yummy” and then a “wait what” !!!

eveline is a girl who just needed the pleasure she got the year prior when she was chased around and fucked around the field. she needed that feeling back but no one ever rose to those standards her masked man gave her. when she received an email along with her friends to attend an amusement park full of haunted houses and rollercoasters this is where shit goes down 😳 i was both aroused and scared AS FUCK !! the way i literally fell for these two mmcs is so concerning. zack and eros 😮‍💨 they’re hot, they’re morally pitch black, they’re obsessed with eveline. we find out that eros was the man who met eveline in the field the year prior and ever since then he was completely drawn to her. he stalked her for a whole year leading up to the amusement park. he learned everything he could about her and more. he’s so damn cute. zack … oh. my. god. zack … this man literally gave me the biggest mind fuck. when it was revealed who he really is … my jaw damn near dislocated 😭 he is the master of it all. he claimed eros and now that he has eveline in his grasps … mans is never letting go.

these boys are murderers … but they’re murderers of those who had taken from the innocent. an “eye for an eye” if you will. and damn it if they’re not fucking sexy, filthy, hot as fuck ❤️‍🔥

For a novella, this definitely was spicy and spooky, and had me gasping at the twist! I’m hoping there’s a second book because I want to see the revenge taken!!! 😈

This was such a little spicy novella length standalone. I loved this! Set in three spooky settings of a creepy amusement park, a gothic haunted house and an old theatre room, it was the perfect Halloween read!

Firstly we meet Eveline, who unfortunately lost her parents and brother in a car accident three years ago, however, after Halloween one year, she’s always felt like she’s been watched.

Fast forward a year, Eveline and her friends get invited to an amusement park, they’re all journalists so they went to write up about it.

We then meet our “Puppet” Eros and “Doll Master” Zack (who turns out to be her dead brothers hot best friend 🥵) who lure Eveline back to their doll house 😈🫦

If you love why choose and erotic horror, you will absolutely love this! Eveline had a tough time choosing between her fears, and her absolute love of darkness that comes with them. She made the right choice obviously… which was with both of them at the same time 🥵

I can go on and on with the quotes 🤭 I loved the writing style and the dark atmosphere.
Be prepared it’s getting hot 🥵🔥 Although the plot is lighter, mostly because it is a novella, it is thrilling and interesting. The twisted mind-game they play with each other is really exciting. The character dynamic is awesome.
This was my first MMF read where the male characters are also involved with each other… I loved that, definitely need to read more MM 🤭.

I'm going to start by saying that I NEED more! I didn't want this to end because I love every twisted, depraved and messed up thing in this book.
Ever since her parents passed away a year before she has felt like she has been watched. She has felt like there are constantly eyes on her everywhere she goes. Eveline works at the paper and her and her co workers were invited to this haunted fair. She is supposed to go through the fair and write an article about it when she gets a phone call that changes everything.

The spice in this book! Had me sweating and needing to drink some cold water to cool down. Not one but two masked men!!! YESSSSS PLEASE! I NEED THEM

I really hope there is more to their story because I didn't want it to end because I loved it

Overall, you will have fun reading this short and heated Halloween novella. If you are a dark romance girly … it’s got the typical dark romance tropes (see below). It’s a fun read … but what keeps it from a solid 4 stars is that sometimes the writing/sequencing just felt disjointed and off to me. But the overall mystery behind her stalkers kept me reading and the spice hit just right.

Eveline tragically lost her family and has never felt the same since. Until one night a man in a mask chases her down and makes her feel for the first time since the accident but then he disappears. A year later she finds herself at a haunted amusement park where terror lurks around every corner and not everyone is who they seem.

Umm. I’m no newbie to short horror/Halloween novellas but DAMN the plot was a lot stronger than I was expecting in 100 pages. Thinking back from start to finish the characters really go through a full arc. Without spoilers I loved the last fourth of the book where the characters really lived up to their names. The doll theme was super eerie and creepy and totally perfect for Halloween.

Super spicy in quantity, MM action, masked men, choking, dubcon (in my opinion), vouyerism (kind of in a messed up way), blood play, rope play, and edging/with holding.

The biggest downfall that was also massively saved by the fact that the book was only 100 pages was that our FMCs decision making was awful. If I had to read much more through her perspective I think I would’ve grown to dislike her but due to the short nature of the book and the contents she basically gets away with it. Not completely, because in the face of absolute terror and with a murderer on the loose, why she chooses to let men get her off when they should be trying to escape is beyond me. She makes other questionable decisions but that was a big one.

It takes place during Halloween night, just what I needed to read in this heat!

Eveline has lost her entire family.
She’s feeling lost and alone.
A year ago, on Halloween she was chased through the cornfield by a pumpkin.
You know what happens after that right?🤭

This was a little chaotic but really good.
So much happened at the same time but in the end I didn’t think about it tbh.
I loved the scenery with the gothic vibes and the horror theme mixed with a LOT of smut.
Which we all love, right?😘

I also absolutely love that Rainelyn is from Sweden, just like me! And the Swedish words in the book made it all so awesome!

This was a short, spicy, spooky novella and I loved every moment of it. It takes place in a spooky amusement park, not just one, BUT TWO, masked men, primal play, MMF romance where the MMCs are not only obsessed with Eveline, but also obsessed with each other 😮‍💨

Eros and Zack are unhinged, possessive and everything you’d want out of a masked man chasing you through corn fields and a haunted mansion.

This novella is HOT. It is extremely dark, and with any dark romance you should always check your triggers.

That being said, I devoured this. I am a sucker for a good Halloween novella, add a why choose element and some masked st@lkers who plan every single detail on how to get their girl and I’m sold.

If you’re looking for a quick spicy Halloween novella with two male love interests (who are also involved with one another) and both are equally obsessive and possessive of the FMC and are willing to help slay her demons to see her happy then this is for you.

But . . .

For a erotic dark horror romance novel, there was a LOT of poetic language. I mean, the fmc just rambled with all the big and/or fancy words. It really slowed everything down, which was too bad. This was a great story. I LOVED the 4th act twist. You gotta read it to find out, but IYKYK!

Characters were great, author did a stellar job creating the fmc and mmcs. All in all I really enjoyed it.

It’s a fast-paced, erotic rollercoaster where the stakes are high, and the thrill never lets up.

Right off the bat, Eveline’s predicament hits you hard. Lured into an amusement park from hell, she’s caught between two men who toe the line between desire and destruction. Eros and Zack, the masked men, ooze danger in the best way—one wearing the chilling Ghostface-like mask, the other cloaked in a pumpkin visage that feels reminiscent of The Nightmare Before Christmas, but make it much more... grown-up. They’re creepy but irresistibly magnetic, and the dynamic between them is scorching. If you’ve read Haunting Adeline by H.D. Carlton, you’ll find yourself in familiar, twisted territory—where the danger makes the attraction even hotter.

One thing that absolutely stood out was the tension in those "deadly games." There’s a scene in the dollhouse where Eveline becomes more than just a player; she's a prize, a twisted possession, and it genuinely made my heart race. The primal chase, the bloodshed, and the utter loss of control mirror The Hunting Grounds by Ivy Asher, but with a unique Halloween flair. If you’re into predator/prey play, this book knows how to push those buttons without holding back.

That said, this novella didn’t shy away from shocking twists—there’s a moment when Eveline realizes just how deep Zack and Eros’ obsession runs, and let’s just say, it’s not for the faint of heart. There were a few points where I was both horrified and, at the same time, undeniably hooked, kind of like when you’re watching a slasher film but can’t look away. Eveline's push-and-pull with her captors felt real—fear mingling with a forbidden sense of thrill, reminding me of the raw emotional ride in The Devil's Night series by Penelope Douglas.

If you like your dark romance with a side of genuine terror, Theirs to Chase hits the mark. Rainelyn does a masterful job of making you root for a situation you know is all kinds of wrong—yet you can't help but want more. And while the HEA feels satisfying, I’m crossing my fingers for a sequel because I NEED to see how Eveline might take revenge—or fall deeper into their twisted game.

“Little pumpkin, come out, come out, wherever you are.” The eerie sing-song quality here gave me serious Stephen King's It vibes.

This novella is NOT for everyone. It’s graphic, unsettling, and unapologetically brutal. But if you’re a fan of books like Hunting Adeline or The Ritual, where terror and eroticism blend seamlessly, Theirs to Chase will grip you from the start and leave you wanting more. The mix of horror and heat will definitely haunt you—long after Halloween is over.

Honestly I’m struggling between 3 & 4 stars. On one hand I actually enjoyed it once I got all the way into it and accepted the flaws but on the other, I had issues with it.

Picture it, you’re on a work assignment that turns out to be fake which was made clear not too far into your night and instead of you know, being normal and trying to figure out what happened or have any major concern, you just continue your night as if you didn’t know this information. Unfortunately shit starts to go downhill left and right and while trying to navigate through this literally traumatizing night, you ignore all red flags and common sense just so you can have your pickle tickled which is great, good for you but seriously this author made Eveline one of the dumbest characters ever. This woman lacked so much common sense to the point where it became concerning. I was extremely dumbfounded about her logic and the way she thought and processed things. Eveline’s way of thinking is yes I’m aware of the danger but nothing is going to stop me from cumming.

I’m disappointed as the plot minus the constant running and being caught then touching each other’s no no squares, IT WAS SO INTERESTING AND ENTERTAINING but it was ruined by the cringe “ little pumpkn”, “master, “little pumpkin doll”, “pup”, and “puppet”. I cringed every time I had to read it which was unfortunately a lot. I hate when the plot is so good and had a chance of being so great but is ultimately ruined by the horny and that’s coming from ME, someone who reads things that would make my mother question if she messed up somewhere along the lines when raising me.

It wasn’t bad but I just can’t stop thinking about the what ifs.

side note: I will be reaching out to the author to pay my therapy bill since I UNFORTUNATELY had to read “ you’re going to take this corn (yes literal corn) like the good little slut you are, spreading your legs for a stranger in a pumpkin mask.”

Also, ngl the dudes would’ve been hot if they took advice from Ferb and just shut up.

This novella took me a while to finish because I caught the flu, and let me tell you, my head, eyes—everything—was killing me. But yesterday, I finally completed it, and WHAT A RIDE. Bad things happen, terrible things, and while all the horrific events unfold, our FMC is having the time of her life. At one point (actually, more than one), I thought, "Maybe I want to be her in this particular moment." (I definitely need to bring this up in therapy because, wow, I’m scared of myself!) When you read the book, you’ll understand why.

Creepy, scary, eerie, haunting... and I loved every single word.

This is my first Rainelyn book, and it won’t be my last because her writing is utterly captivating. I didn’t want to put the book down! It’s a quick read—only 10 chapters—but don’t let that fool you. The story might be short, but it’s intense from the very first page.

If you’re like me and spooky season is all year round, or if you love horror, murder, gothic manors, and all the eerie vibes, then this novella is 100% for you.

So, grab a drink and enjoy the ride!

Evelin has been craving the same thrill and pleasure she experienced 12 months ago on Halloween where she was chased and satisfied by a man in a pumpkin mask and has always had the feeling she is being watched. After getting an email from her boss saying she needs to attend a Devil’s Night themed amusement park for work she immediately starts to feel uneasy.

Enter, “Puppet” Eros and “Doll Master” Zack. They lure Evelin to their Dolls House where there is spice galore and shocking twists.

The two MMCs are so twisted and morally dark I love it, not to mention they are very creative! Their dynamic as a duo and with Evelin is great. To say they are obsessed with her is an understatement!

I loved the eerie atmosphere and the fast pace of this novella. If you’re looking for something to cosy up with this spooky season get over to Amazon now! I really hope a second book is coming because I need to see more of the trio and if they’ll get revenge.
