London Fane is faced with the devastating news that, due to her recklessness, she has lost her scholarship to her dream college. With that, her last choice is BlackWell.

When she accidentally bumps into a certain boy in the library, London becomes fascinated by his shyness. So she does everything in her power to get him to talk to her. Even if that means forcing him to help her leave campus and not get caught by security.

August thought that would be it with the troubled girl but he was wrong. After finding out that she was in his class and a project had just been assigned, he knew that there was no way off of this.

Had to DNF at 37%. The romance went entirely too quickly with him falling for her whilst barely knowing her.

“I’d gladly die if it’s at the hands of you.”
Excerpt From
Sweet Temptation
Kadence Eichen

Nothing at this stage justifies him saying this. He says he shouldn’t like her himself, that she’s bad news. We don’t know why he likes her at this point.
The writing is also not my favorite. It’s very tell not show if you get what I mean. She’s supposed to push people away because of her tragic past but so far she’s welcomed everyone in with open arms. I couldn’t find any connection to any of these characters. The dialogue was so cringey and unrealistic that I couldn’t continue with this read. Whispering in his ear in, calling him pretty boy and her being the one to seek him out while she allegedly pushes everyone away is such a juxtaposition to what the book promised. Maybe I should stick it out and wait for the book to get to that point, but I can’t do it.

I believe that this is the author’s first book so I’m sure that her writing will improve as she writes more so I will pick up any of her future works, but this didn’t do it for me.

Arc review-

I can’t even put into words how much I loved this book. I will never get over London and August my heart is full of love for them. Seeing both of them grow so much during the book I can’t. I’m so happy I got the chance to read this as an arc now I can’t wait to buy the physical copy.

This is your sign to read it!!

London's story broke my heart she never deserved anything that happened to her. Her mother is still questionable but it's okay. I'm so glad August was there for her. The fact that he willingly told his grandparent's he'd never speak to them again had me screaming.

She loved him so much she was willing to leave to protect him. He protected her so much I will never get over them. He took a bullet for her!!! I cried when I thought he died I had to put the book down and just cry. I felt my heart leave my chest there was no way for me to accept it.

Thank gosh I kept reading and saw him alive. Even though he died for seven minutes he still did technically die. There kids are adorable I can't I need more books ASAP!!!

I loved this book and will always recommend it, since I first read it there wasn't a day I haven't thought about London and August.

Arc Review

No words could describe how much I love and adored this book. The emotions, the depth, and the connection this amazing author has built with her readers. I was able to easily connect and relate to these characters.

London went through so much at such a young age. The loss of her dad to being separated from her grandparents. Even the emotional and physical abuse from her stepfather. It shattered my heart completely to read her story and what she went through. Tears filled my eyes. Her strength throughout this book is immaculate.

And August is such an amazing character. I love how this author switched the roles where the MMC is a softer character and the FMC is the more bad girl vibe. Even though August is a soft character he is still protective over London. He loves her with every fiber of his being. When London’s stepfather wanted to hurt her we were able to see a side of August none of us ever expected. A side of him that is protective of the girl he loves. And we saw a vulnerable side of London. Two characters who fit each other so perfectly. Two characters who are made for each other.

I am so proud of this author and the amazing accomplishments. This book was truly amazing. I am so grateful to be given the opportunity to read this book and give a review.

📚: sweet temptation by @authorkadencee — releasing October 30th

my ratings: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

aesthetics: 📚✨💫👫🖤🎓💬🍂🔎💭💕📖🌌🏫🖋

tropes: good boy X bad girl, reverse grumpy sunshine, college romance, forced proximity, boy obsessed, strangers to friends to lovers, ptsd & anxiety rep, street racing.

Sweet Temptation by Kadence Eichen was an engaging and heartfelt read! London Fane's story begins with a rough start—losing her scholarship to her dream college. Her only option is BlackWell, where she crosses paths with the introverted yet intriguing August in the library. I loved how their connection developed slowly, starting with London's determination to get August to talk and growing into a deeper bond as they’re paired for a class project. The opposites-attract dynamic really added depth, with London’s boldness meeting August’s quiet strength.

Kadence Eichen did a wonderful job creating a balance of romance, personal growth, and friendship that made me want to keep turning pages. London's determination and August's reserved nature created an opposites-attract tension that made their journey all the more compelling. This was my first book by Kadence, and I'm excited to see what she writes next!

Right so! I’ve been sticking it out with this book and I have got to 61%. This book HAD potential I think the dynamic made for a cute story however the story telling is awful incredibly rushed and quite cringe as well. I understand they are all quite young but the writing is simply too juvenile. The grammar and sentence structure is incredibly hard to ignore and the characters thoughts and words just sometimes don’t add up. It’s just not been executed very well. There were some moments where you can look over the flaws but they are few and far in between. It’s so evident this book was a wattpad book first and it probably should have stayed like that. Kinda mad I spent money on this book to be frank. I’m assuming author attempted to take some inspiration of Archers voice which is a great book but a lot more development in writing and storytelling was needed. I don’t know if I will finish the book but I may simply because i bought it.

I found Sweet Temptation to be an okay read, but it didn’t quite grab my attention the way I hoped it would. While the story had potential, I felt that the pacing was off, which made it difficult for me to stay fully engaged. The characters also felt somewhat underdeveloped, making it hard to connect with their motivations or root for their journey. There were a few moments that hinted at deeper emotions, but the story didn’t dive into these enough to create a lasting impact. The plot twists were fairly predictable, giving the story a more formulaic feel rather than a unique edge. Although there were some sweet moments in the romance, I didn’t quite feel the chemistry or tension.

Can safely say that I absolutely LOVED this book, I’ve been obsessed with this book since before it was published. And don’t even get me STARTED on the nicknames 😩. London and August will always hold a special place in my heart and I WILL be re-reading this book because I just CANNOT get enough of it.

Props to the author for creating such well rounded characters that are both funny and relatable.

this book exceeded my expectations tremendously it was the cutest, sweetest, love story i absolutely had the best time ever reading this book and reading about our characters august and london!! they were so sweet and only had eyes for each other since the beginning!! i also love a shy and quiet man who isn’t as experienced and has a little stutter, but he is protective and loves his girl more than anything & chooses her over anything as well! i love this kind of trope in men!! 🥰🤓🍏🌸📝🧸💖

London Fane is an unenthusiastic student at Blackwell College after losing her dream scholarship due to a 'drive-in' with the law. She soon stumbles upon the human equivalent of sunlight to her black heart, August Reid. As they get closer little do they know that they both have secrets still haunting them that could cost them everything they hold dear, even each other.

This book had me in a chokehold (in the very best way), I loved both main characters and my heart hurt with everything they had been through. August reminded me quite a bit of my partner so I may be *slightly* biased.

Eichen did a wonderful job of describing the frustrations and social/academic alienation that a learning disability like dyslexia can bring. I loved the sexual tension that built up over time, how August grew into himself through exploring intimacy with London, and how London opened up to being loved by someone after being closed off for so long. The last third of the book was a total emotional trampoline, going from elation to heartbreak and back again.

If you love emotionally intricate characters, great banter, teasing, car racing, grandparents who are precious as heck, academia (but not in the snoozefest way), legos, still emo aesthetic, facing demons of the real world, a man who knows what he wants, happy ever afters, and spice (!!), you will love this book!

✨ As always, check TW before reading if there are some topics that are not your thing ✨

I'm simply in love with this book. Watching this book turn from a small idea into becoming published was an amazing privilege. August and London deserve the world and each other. If soulmates exist, I'm pretty sure their each others. August is shy and loves his company, while london is reserved but not afraid to say her mind. They complimented each other so well. Her parents got my nerves a lot same with his grandfather , the fact he fought for them despite him being the quiet one was amazing. This book had so many surprises, plot twist and omg the playful banter was so funny. His so submissive but Dominant when he wants to be. The spice is a 4
