Owen Mulligan writes scary stories for horror fans. He grew up reading Ray Bradbury and Stephen King and watching scary movies at the drive-in. He lives in Vermont where you might find him roaming the woods or exploring mysterious locations. His books include The Nightmare Crypt and Strange Hauntings. He is currently working on The Nightmare Crypt Vol. 2.
The story follows Danny Wheelock as he attempts to help his mother solve the mystery behind the recent haunting of her home, but this leads to several shocking revelations that end up putting them in extreme danger. Definitely a page turner! I would recommend to anyone who enjoys a good horror!.

I picked up this novella just because it was a new/unknown author to me and the subject was inticing. I'm glad I read it because I think Mr. Mulligan may have a promising future as a writer if he just acquires a proofreader. It started out quickly, as is important in a short story and got right to the heart of the tale but it was a bit confusing as to whether it was a horror story or a mystery. Once it was clearly both, I settled in to decide who-dun-it! Cute short story by an author who has some potential!
This had me hooked from the description and cover and was so glad I got to read this. The plot had that feel that I was looking for and enjoyed the overall feel of this, it was a strong start to the Strange Hauntings series. It was everything that I wanted and was glad the characters had that feel that I was looking for. I’m excited for more in this series and from Owen Mulligan.

This is a haunting tale of a family that recently lost a loved one and strange things start occurring. I enjoyed this short story. It is the right book to read during October. It is the first book in the series, and I cannot wait for the next book to read.
