Excellent book! This continues the story of the Alpha Games, with Camille (an enforcer/investigator) coming in to try to figure out what is going on with the dark magic that is sabotaging the contestants. She arrives undercover, with only a few people knowing who she is and what she is doing there. Dean, the alpha running the games, and his beta know, but Deans brother, Jax, does not. But he is immediately drawn to Camille, and his broken, half feral wolf will do anything to be near her. But the human part of Jax will not let Camille be hurt by his wolf, because he thinks that nobody is safe with him. Camille, for her part, has been hurt before by a wolf that said he wanted her, but then threw her over when he found his true mate. So when Jax and Camille find out they are true mates, and Jax rejects her, saying it's for her safety, she is having none of it. She is going to make this wolf see that they are meant to be together or he can pound sand. The tension between these two is great! Add in the mystery and high stakes of the games, and who is trying to take out the finalists, and you get a book that I could not put down and read in one sitting!!
This is a great story, with lots of spice, a FMC that is a total bad-a$$, and a broken wolf that is healed by love. I give it 4.5 stars and highly recommended. You for sure need to read this series in order, so start with Rogue Games, the first in this series.
