Can you really blame me for loving the scandalous texts exposing Bridger Sanderson for the jerk he is? As far as I’m concerned, it’s sweet karma for ghosting me after we hooked up two years ago. Cocky, infuriating, and way too gorgeous for his own good, Bridger thinks he’s untouchable.

The best part?

He’s convinced I’m behind the messages.

I wish.

Unfortunately, my life takes a turn for the worst when Bridger uncovers my secret side hustle. Now he’s blackmailing me, forcing me to stick close—we’re talking 24/7—until he figures out who’s airing his dirty laundry on campus.

I should hate him for dragging me into his mess.

And I do…

Mostly.

Except… the more time we spend together, the harder it becomes to ignore how he looks at me. It's almost like he can see straight through the walls I’ve built to protect myself. Or how his own guard slips, revealing the cracks in his armor when he thinks I’m not paying attention.

The only person who’s ever gotten this close is ColdAsIce17, my anonymous confidant on the school chat app. With him, I can totally be myself.

But what happens when the lines blur between the guy I hate and the one I can’t stop thinking about?

What happens when I realize... they might be the same person?

Don’t ask me how I read this in less than three hours, but I did, it was an out of body experience and I seem to just soak it in.

However, now I’m heartbroken because the series is over.

I don’t even know what to say right now.
I’m literally laying in bed at 1 o’clock in the morning trying to figure out how to put all of my feelings in this review without giving spoilers.
I am pretty crushed by parts of this book and it had me feeling a lot more emotional than I was expecting to feel.
Both the mains have been through really tough lives, regardless of how they seem on the outside and how they act they are both very strong people that in the end, just desperately want someone to take care of them.
How can you trust somebody when your life has taught you you can’t? I know a lot of us who have had rough childhoods or even situations that happen later in life that shake you to the core, grapple with this issue. The scary truth is the only thing you can do is jump.

There are so many twists and turns in this book and the big plot twist was jaw-dropping.
My only thing is I kind of feel like it was gotten away with.
Even when reading the epilogue, the fall out is not mentioned. Let me tell you, I have not wanted to throw hands with a character the way I wanted to throw hands with this specific character and I think when you guys read this book, you will fully be ready to get tapped in. That’s my one criticism of the entire book. I needed a smack down WWE- Stone Cold Steve Austin style OK?????

This book was a chef's kiss! The tension between Holland and Bridger was palpable even two years after whatever happened between them. It's amazing how they gravitated towards each other without even knowing who the other person was.

The chemistry between Holland and Bridger was fantastic throughout the entire book – I couldn't get enough of it! I loved Bridger's determination to find out who was spreading rumors about him, especially since he suspects Holland. The scene where he catches her dancing outside and blackmails her was intriguing.

The fake dating trope was a highlight for me! Watching Holland and Bridger get closer and learn to trust each other was wonderful. I'm also interested in Garrett and Bridger's story and can't wait for the new series, especially the next book!

Overall, Holland and Bridger deserve all the happiness. They've been through a lot, and I'm so happy they found their way to each other.

📚 Book #7 [Final] in the Western Wildcats Hockey Series[ Interconnected Standalones]

🏒 Hockey Series

Bridger & Holland are a true match. They have both had a hard life but in different ways which brings emotional baggage to their "fake relationship". There were a lot of emotional twists and turns that I didnt see coming. I did figure out who was sending the texts pretty early on, but the why behind them that one I didnt catch onto.

I really would have loved to see Bridger throw some hands with his dad, but alas it didnt come. I did love getting to see where Holland & Bridger ended up in their Epilogue, and we get a glimpse of who the next characters will be in the next series...which im stoked for.

Solid book, from a new to me author. Ill defiantly check out the other 6 books in this series now.

🏒 hockey romance
🩵 college romance
🏒 enemies to lovers
🩵 second chance
🏒 fake dating
🩵 blackmail
🏒 close proximity
🩵 secret identity
🏒 3rd act wobble

📍“I grin, my chest tightening in a way that feels alarmingly permanent. It’s the moment I realize that whatever this is between us isn’t so fake after all.”

📍“I never stopped wanting you, Holland.”

Maybe three or four chapters in, I had this thought: I have to manifest this series never ending! Jennifer Sucevic must write 20 more of these, and if we run out of players… we could do novellas, extended epilogues, destination weddings… whatever works.

Well, joke is on me. I never get to manifest it because soon enough I realized this would be the last Western Wildcats Hockey book. {brief break to cry into my pillow} I love them too much to say goodbye. I will miss them too much to even entertain the idea of being apart {insert longer break to cry more into my pillow}

But worry not *cleans nose* because Jennifer Sucevic is going to keep writing in this world *wipes eyes* and I can’t wait for some cameos {insert long break to cry a lot more into my pillow}

This is one of my favorite books in the series. Holland is everything I love in a FMC: feisty but not b*tchy; strong and driven but also vulnerable and caring.

I also love a flawed character and our MMC is just that… just enough to make me immediately root for him. Bridger made a mistake and he lost the girl. And things were never the same. I don’t know if anybody has ever watched the series Heroes. But if you did, remember the “save the cheerleader, save the world” thing? I kept thinking about that… save what you broke with Holland, fix your life 😁 yeah, my brain is quite the place 😂

All to say, this was AMAZING, I’m going to miss the series way too much, and Jennifer Sucevic is the queen of college sports romance 👏🏼

This story follows Holland and Bridger. After a night together a few years ago, Bridger ended up ghosting her. Now, damaging rumors and lies are swirling on social media, and Bridger is convinced Holland is to blame. But what happens when Holland has a secret identity—and Bridger is willing to blackmail her unless she does what he says?

First off, I highly recommend the audiobook. The duet narration by Angelina and Grayson is fantastic. Bridger and Holland had great tension between them. With the added layer of family drama from both sides and their struggle to trust each other, you could really feel their chemistry grow throughout the book—even if they were a little hesitant with each other.

Now, regarding the dancer storyline—I loved it. But I’m a sucker for MMCs who get overprotective, want to save the FMC, or get her out of a tough situation. This is the first book I’ve read where she continued doing the work, and I guess my mind was waiting for that moment… but it never came. This is more a personal preference though. Also I don’t know if I missed it but I wanted to know what was being said about Bridger on socials.

Overall this was a great read I really enjoy Jennifer’s work.

Though I have only read books 6 & now this one in this series, I am REALLY liking it! These characters and this world are wonderfully addicting. I really enjoy loathe to lovers when it is done right. The pacing needs to be on point, and I like when there is some delicious backstory that only the two MCs know. Well that is the case in this one. Bridger and Holland hooked up in freshman year, but then Bridger ghosted her. He got freaked. Ever since then there has been this underlying tension between them. All of their friends know she is out for him. The way that Jennifer paced this one was chef's kiss. We have this tension where they are clearly both still attracted to each other but both are scared to get hurt. Meanwhile Bridger is getting burned on this mass texts that are going out to everyone on campus. He wouldn't be surprised if Holland is behind them. He uses a secret that he finds out about her to get her close which felt SOOO scandalous because clearly he wanted her in his bed for more than one reason. I liked watching both of their walls fall while still trying to cling on to the fact that they had a bad history. I liked watching them navigate a fake relationship where they got cozy. I liked how they both pushed each other and found themselves wanting more. The tension was perfect. The chemistry was perfect. The DANCING was YUMMMMM. Once again, these two made each other better. They pushed each other while balancing supporting each other.

Holland feels like she is carrying the weight of the world. And none of her friends know. They don't know she has a side hustle or that she is doing 18 hours of credits so she can graduate early. She is beyond driven and wants to move past how she grew up. So imagine her surprise when leaving her job one night that she runs into Bridger Sanderson. The guy she hasn't stopped thinking about since freshman year. Even though she won't admit it. The guy who ghosted her despite their chemistry. The guy who is getting slammed on mass text around campus. And who now apparently thinks she is behind them. So he blackmails her into staying with him for a bit until he figures out who is doing this and stops them. She has to be his fake girlfriend. Which is so hard because everyone knows how she feels about him. Well at least kind of. Not even she is ready to admit that she admires him and that she thought they had a future all those years ago. But the more she is around Bridger the more the lines get blurred. The more she realizes their chemistry before is nothing on what they have now. She finds herself liking spending time with him. She finds herself wanting more. So when he tells her he messed up all those years ago, all bets are off. But then she finds out who is behind everything and before she has a chance to act she loses Bridger before she ever really had him. Will he come to understand her decision to wait or will he walk away without a word like before?

Bridger can't seem to shake this person who has it out for him. He can only think of one or two people that could really be coming for him. And unfortunately one of this is Holland. The girl he regrets ghosting from freshman year. The girl has found himself thinking about on more than one occasion. The girl who he now knows has a secret that she will do anything to not have found out. Which is how she comes to stay with him for a bit until things are revealed on whoever this is. It's how he finds himself sleeping in the same bed with his dream girl but not knowing how to navigate this strange turn of events. Lines are blurring. Their chemistry is insane. He is realizing how much he messed up when he walked away before, and when he tells Holland that things shift between them. He is realizing that he wants this fake relationship to be real but is also having a hard time trusting that it isn't her. He KNOWS in his heart it isn't but what if it is? And then new information comes to light about Holland and Bridger is beyond confused. It's like he has been lied to his whole life. Even though he did walk away he realizes it was only temporary because he wants the real thing with Holland and is hoping she wants it too.

This was a great read! The tension and chemistry were spot on. The private dance scene was scorching so was the shower- IYKYK. These two were great! I loved watching them fall completely for each other and learning more about the other characters and potential future main characters. I definitely recommend this one for a spicy hockey romance! I am really looking forward to going back and reading books 1 through 5.

Someone has been watching Bridger Sanderson. And reporting online all of his business. It's been a weight around him, and it's making his father angry. He doesn't know who's doing it. Or does he?

Holland and Bridger have a past. And now that Hollands best friend is dating his teammate, she's back in his orbit. And he's for sure that she's the one behind the messages. So when he finds out Hollands secret, he figures that keeping her super close will reveal who's behind them.

What he doesn't expect is how she makes him feel.

Holland is a great FMC. She's had to work hard because of her upbringing, and I loved that she wasn't letting Bridger roll over her.

Bridger isn't a simple player either. His family situation is... well, his dad is not "Dear old Dad."

This is a smacking of enemies to lovers. These two are NOT friends. Or friendly. And forced proximity?! Yes, please. And, of course, we get to see all of our favorite players and their girls. With also a little bit of mystery mixed in.

Be warned, it's also a little bit sad at the end. Knowing that it is the end. I hope that Jennifer will keep writing hockey.

More 4 1/2 🌟 We are taken back to the Western Wildcats hockey series with Never Your Girl, the final book in the series. This one is full of banter, tension and intense chemistry featuring Holland and Bridger. If you ever want two characters to have a happy ever after is these two as they both have difficult and challenging pasts and I loved the way they both supported each other. This enemies to lovers, fake dating hockey romance with the right amount of angst and a plot twist leaves you invested. I really enjoyed this one! I received a complementary copy

Never Your Girl ARC Review

i was very fortunate to receive an ARC of Never Your Girl by Jennifer Sucevic from ValentinePr, thank you so much!! 🩵

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5

“because i can’t lie to myself anymore. i don’t just look at holland. i feel her. in my chest. under my skin. in the spaces of my life that used to be empty but are now charged whenever she’s near. and that terrifies the hell out of me.”

this was my first time reading anything by jennifer and i so badly wish i would’ve discovered her a long time ago!! i will definitely be binging the rest of this series as well as her other work ASAP! i absolutely loved this book from beginning to end! while this book was part of a series, it definitely can be read as a standalone but i think i would benefited from reading the other books to be introduced to the other characters.

holland and bridger were everything, i couldn’t get enough of them! their chemistry was undeniable and the banter between them was so fun and flirty, i couldn’t get enough of it. they’re such relatable characters because of everything they’ve gone through and experienced. and their ability to share their strengths and vulnerabilities with each other was so important! the way they understood each other, supported each other, and just clicked was everything. they both went through so much and just really wanted someone to lean on through the highs and lows and they were able to find that in each other.

thank you once again to valentinepr and jennifer sucevic for giving me the chance to read never your girl early! 🩵

✨ One Night Stand Gone Wrong
✨ He Falls First

Okay I'm not ready to leave the western wildcats! This series has been to good from start to finish and they all hold a special place in my heart, But I LOVED Bridger and Holland so dang much.

I love an enemies to lovers where they really are enemies and these two absolutely were. Bridger and Holland had a one night stand a couple years bock and now he thinks that she is behind the hurtful anonymous messages he's getting on campus.

The tention and sniping/ banter beteeen these two was top notch, and I loved seeing them slowly begin to see things from the other's perspective while realizing neither was over the ONS from the past.

Also the spice was spicing, and their little dance scene had me sweating. SWEATING.

Plus we got to see bits and pleces of all the hockey boys we loved! I can't wait to take a piece of this world with us to the next series.

This is the final book of the series and I am so so sad. I’m not ready for it to be over. I’ve enjoyed getting to know all the characters and their stories so much.
This book focuses on Bridger and Holland. Although part of the series, it can be read as a standalone. Reading the other books will definitely help you know the side characters a bit more and help you understand the team/family dynamic.
Bridger and Holland both have had difficult lives at home and for Bridger it gets worse at school when text messages attacking his character start being shared with everyone on campus. Due to Holland and Bridger having a rough history, Bridger believes Holland is the one behind it making the start of their relationship rocky. Of course, eventually the truth comes out but along with the truth behind the messages an even bigger surprise is revealed, something I didn’t not see coming at all. It threw me for a loop.
I loved the profession of Bridger and Holland’s relationship and their ability to talk and resolve their issues. The one thing I do wish was included, was a little bit more about how things progressed with Bridger and Garrett after the truth was revealed to everyone, even just a mention of him in the epilogue would’ve sufficed for me but that didn’t happen.
Other than that, I loved everything about this book. If you love hockey romance, this book and the whole series is a great next read!
Thank you Jennifer Sucevic for such a fun series. And thank you Valentine PR & Luna Literary for the ARC of this book.

My Rating: ❤️❤️❤️❤️

General Thoughts: I loved the prior book in the series (my first by this author), and so I was super excited to dive into this one. She teased this book in the prior one, so I was excited to finally get to dive into it. It was an enjoyable read. I enjoy how Jennifer approaches her stories and characters. She does a great job of including secondary cast and giving nods to those who have read the series in order, while not alienating those who haven't. Both books I've read have made me want to go read the others in the series. I thought the story was engaging, as were the characters. I wanted a bit more of a connection and to dive into the characters a bit more, but honestly, the author did a great job. It was an enjoyable quick read, perfect for fans of college hockey romance. I received a review copy for free and am leaving this review voluntarily. Thanks to the author and Valentine PR.

Spice Meter:❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥 Spicy. Not as spicy as book 6, but still spicy.

The end of the Western Wildcats era feels bittersweet. Nine fun, emotional books that made me laugh, cry, swoon, and fall in love with every twist and turn of this romance rollercoaster.

I was especially eager to dive into this final book just to uncover the identity of the mysterious stalker who’d been tormenting Bridger. It only took eight books to finally get that answer!

Bridger and Holland always seemed like polar opposites. They never quite worked, neither as friends nor anything more. With their intense history and constant tension, it felt impossible they’d ever end up together… or so we thought.

This story beautifully explores themes of chosen family, trust, and the idea that people aren’t always who they seem. It’s a reminder that needing someone isn’t a weakness, it’s a strength to recognize when to ask for help.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/🌶️🌶️ I was not expecting such a fun and entertaining read, this one was a bit different from the past couple of books, and it had a bit of mystery to it too. It was like that Gossip-Girl vibe where you’re left wondering what’s really going on. I loved it, but my favorite had to be Holland. I love strong females and she was strong, sexy, smart, and unexpectedly, a stripper too. I did not see that coming, but it was a pleasant surprise. I wish we got more of her perspective while she was working, but Bridger falling for her was a plus. I did think Bridger was slightly crazy sometimes, I thought he was gonna lose his mind from all the pressure. Thank God that didn’t happen, instead we’re left with a cute love story, and a satisfying end to the entire series. I highly recommend this book for the sweet romance between Holland and Bridger, college hockey romance, hockey player x stripper, enemies to lovers, fake dating, forced proximity, second chance, one night stand, the one that got away, messaging pen pals, mystery, college life, and a surprise twist in the end.

This is a funny hockey series with a bunch of books. I haven’t read the first ones and jumped in towards the end and it didn’t affect the reading experience at all in case you only want to read some of the books.

This one was actually a bit emotional, I felt so bad for Bridger and how he has been treated his whole life and then how shitty everything’s been at school for him…Holland is a perfect black cat character with her own struggles to say the least.. however, her character could have had a bit more depth but anyway.

They are very cute together tho 🤭 the problem in the beginning of the book, where he ”must have eyes on her 24/7” is a bit of a stretch. Like, where did that thought come from so spontaneously? There could have been something more revolving that decision than just ”I think it’s you and to prove it I’m blackmailing you to be with me at all times” 😅

Never Your Girl is the seventh and final book of this series, and the second book I’ve read from the author as a whole. The first being Break my Heart (book 6 of the Weston Wildcats series), after reading that book I was wanting to go back and read the whole series, now having completed this book too, I will definitely be reading the others.

Bridger’s character as a whole gave me this goofy yet serious vibes. He can absolutely have his fun, tease people, make jokes but as expected he is also so sensitive and emotional, he’s human and makes mistakes too. His family life quite honestly sucks, if I could only drop kick one character from this book, it would be his sorry excuse of a father.

Holland had a childhood no child should have, she became the parent at a very early age and which resulted in her becoming the hyper-independent Holland we know here. I didn’t actually like the FMC at the beginning, the attitude she had at the start tested my patience but in reality I knew there would be a reason behind it, that something had to have happened between the two previously.

The chemistry built between these characters through messaging was genius, I say this because they’re being themselves 100%, and they’re supporting one another so when those qualities start appearing within their real lives you just start rooting for them even more.

I have wanted this story for so long! Some crazy twists I didn’t see coming but the ending was a little fast and came together way to nicely.

The heat level in this one is a lot less then the others but the story/plot is a very emotional one and so I loved getting to really know our hero and heroine!

Couldn't put this book down!

"I can't lie to myself anymore. I don't just look at Holland. I feel her. In my chest. Under my skin. In the spaces of my life that used to be empty but are now charged whenever she's near."

Bridger and Holland were so fiery! All the enmity between just fed the fire of lust and denial between them. When Bridger blackmails Holland into being with him 24/7, all the tension between them explodes. The main thing I loved about them was also the softness that came with all the chemistry. Bridger had his issues and Holland had her hang-ups but being in each other's lives only made them so much better. I loved the camaraderie between Bridger and his teammates/friends, I enjoyed the snappy dialogue between Bridger and Holland, and I loved the revelations and how things were resolved. This was a fab read.

ARC kindly provided in exchange of an honest review

I can't believe this is the end of Western Wildcats Hockey! It breaks my heart because this series became one of my favorites and I loved its characters so much, and even though it's sad to say goodbye to all of them, I think Jennifer Sucevic couldn't have ended WWH with a better story. Holland & Bridger exceeded all my expectations with their love story and that dynamic where they can't stand each other but can't avoid their attraction. Plus, I really liked finally knowing who was behind the messages that were turning Bridger's world upside down, seeing the Wildcats being the best as always, and getting those little glimpses of the couples from the previous books.

Holland is a character who intrigued me since her first appearance and who I LOVED getting to know in Never Your Girl: her personal story broke my heart, especially those moments when I read her feeling alone even though she's surrounded by people who love and support her unconditionally, like Willow, one of her best friends, and the rest of the girls in the series with whom we see her strengthening her bond throughout the book, especially towards the end of the story. One of the things I liked most about Holland was her strong personality and determination to achieve her goals, her sensitivity, and the fact that she ALWAYS says what she thinks and feels, especially when it comes to Bridger. I also loved that Jennifer Sucevic shows us the vulnerable side of this character.

Bridger is one of the most popular Western players, the son of the Dean, and a boy who carries the burden of being "daddy's boy" who gets everything he wants thanks to his last name. However, that couldn't be further from the truth because his family situation is quite complex, and it broke my heart to slowly learn everything he has to endure. Furthermore, Bridger has been watching an unknown person air his private life through the university chat room for months, which leads him to fail at his game, have more problems with his dad, and become obsessed with discovering who is behind the messages. A plot that took a completely unexpected turn and had a conclusion that I loved.

Holland and Bridger hate each other, she because of their past together, and he because he's sure she's behind the messages, but the attraction and connection from that first meeting never disappeared, so Bridger takes advantage of the situation to get closer to her in one of my favorite plots: a fake relationship, which gives them the perfect excuse to be honest with each other, be vulnerable, and support each other unconditionally in the most difficult moments. In addition, Holland and Bridger also exchange messages anonymously with other people with whom they also share a special connection.

🏒Bridger: 5/5
🏒Holland: 5/5
🏒Plot: 5/5
🏒Love story: 5/5
🏒Secondary characters: 5/5
🏒Universe: 5/5
🏒Covers: 5/5
🌶️: 3/5

🏒Bridger: 5/5

Holland and Bridger have a history, rocky, complicated kind of history. He thinks she's behind the mysterious, anonymous messages that have appeared spilling his business, so he's blackmailed her into a fake relationship so he can keep a close eye on her. Except he didn't take into account what the close proximity would do to all those feelings both have been avoiding acknowledging for so long. Fake is quickly turning real, even if neither quite trusts the other completely.

With Bridger and Holland's story, we've come to the end of Western Wildcats Hockey, and what a story to conclude this series with! Both Holland Bridger had hard lives, and had suffered because of it. They had their walls, they didn't trust others, and were definitely not looking for love. Thankfully they found it, though, and it was so much fun getting there. Snarky, witty banter, and delicious chemistry. I'm sad this series has come to an end, but Jennifer chose a great couple for the conclusion.

Jennifer Sucevic is back with the final instalment in Western Wildcats Hockey series.
The finale Never Your Girl is book 7 and has us following the story of Bridger Sanderson and Holland Tate, through their dual narrative in this Enemies to Lovers, Fake Dating, Forced Proximity, College Hockey Romance.

Bridger and Holland’s story was an intriguing one to follow, seeing as there was a lot unpack and navigate through in terms of the storyline development. As well as their character development alongside it too. Though more so when you took into account their relationships, seeing as unbeknownst to one another, they shared more than one with each other. It’s what led to a sort of bumpy ride.
Then again with the addition of some drama that came from their personal lives that included their families. And in Bridger’s case from within the sports world, given certain teammates causing problems.

It was interesting yet insightful seeing how Bridger and Holland were in regards to the two different shared relationships they were navigating through.
Though mostly in their online relationship, which to them was with a stranger on the other end, unbeknownst to each other.
Seeing how they opened up and gradually became vulnerable allowed for more depth in the development of their characters. All the whilst brought out the emotional depth, due to a lot of feelings and emotions to navigate through. Especially when it came to Bridger and Holland’s complicated childhoods that made its presence known at times. Further adding into developing with their stories.

Although some of the secrets upon its reveal was not surprising, having figured it out early on.
That’s not to say there weren’t some surprise twists thrown in along the way that caught me off guard, having never thought or expected the story to go in that direction.
And from the revelations that later came to light, you can most definitely say Jennifer threw me for a loop, simultaneously shocking me too.

My main critique would have to be the Blackmail aspect, not only was it not followed through to a tee. It didn’t last as long as I would’ve liked or expected when it came to seeing it develop and play out within the story. Despite it’s importance within the book.
Other than when the situation came about, there was rarely any mention of it, thus making it feel a little redundant as it was never used to its fullest potential. Especially alongside the Enemies to Lovers aspect.
This brings me to my other criticism and that was the Enemies aspect, it could’ve done with being stronger. It too did not play out long enough IMO and with the lack of conflict, it caused it to lose the excitement and entertainment that usually comes from the trope, at least to me.
Which again in all honesty to me in turn led to the fizzling out of the Blackmail trope way to early too. At least that’s what it had me thinking and feeling.

Never Your Girl from Jennifer Sucevic still managed to be a good, enjoyable read. Having kept me invested and pushing through, even with my critiques.
And while it was bittersweet saying goodbye to Western Wildcats Hockey series with the finale that was Bridger and Holland’s story.
I look forward for more to come from author Jennifer Sucevic with her next new series Chicago Railers, that will be kicking off with Bridger's cousin Steele and Lilah’s story Make Me Yours.

Bridger Sanderson AND Holland Tate story

“𝕊𝕖𝕖𝕞𝕤 𝕝𝕚𝕜𝕖 𝕨𝕖’𝕣𝕖 𝕒 𝕞𝕒𝕥𝕔𝕙 𝕞𝕒𝕕𝕖 𝕚𝕟 𝕗𝕒𝕜𝕖 𝕕𝕒𝕥𝕚𝕟𝕘 𝕙𝕖𝕒𝕧𝕖𝕟”

Bridger Sanderson
defenseman of the Western Wildcat hockey team is being plagued with disparaging messages.
The college’s Chancellor’s son is unable to find out who is behind it much less able to stop it even with help from the college IT, the Campus wide smear text continues and he is almost sure he knows who is behind it .. almost.

✨Can you really blame me for loving the scandalous texts exposing Bridger Sanderson for the jerk he is? As far as I’m concerned, it’s sweet karma for ghosting me after we hooked up two years ago. Cocky, infuriating, and way too gorgeous for his own good, Bridger thinks he’s untouchable.✨

Holland Tate
Smart College Student who felt slighted when BRIDGER Sanderson ghosted her after a past hook-up, she wasn’t mad at the plight the gorgeous hockey player found himself in..oh no..Instead she wished it was her who was making his life miserable. But to have him accusing her of lying was even more insulting.

But as BRIDGER turns his sights on Holland, it lead him to her secret which he uses to blackmail her into staying with him, thinking that fake dating and keeping her close is a way of finding out if she’s-the one behind the Text Messages on campus.
But unfortunately this arrangement has evolved into something that neither of them could have imagined.

Truth be told they both have secrets coupled with hurt and loneliness, but the more time spent around Bridger, Holland has became aware of how heartbreaking his life truly is.

And so begins the Banter and the undeniable attraction and so much more between them.
As they fight to remain cool and indifferent towards each.

✨What happens when the lines blur between the guy I hate and the one I can't stop thinking
about?
What happens when I realize that they might be the same person?✨

✨’I didn't want to risk my heart again. But...I can't help the loneliness that creeps in at the edges. Like maybe being on my own isn't all it's cracked up to be.’✨

As this story develops, we are taken on a sweet journey about trust family and secrets discovered by the author new to me with two incredible storyteller at the helm!

Angelina Rocca and Greyson Owens were amazing as is expected!
These two held my attention with their incredible performances that just brings this story to life with their own unique style of storytelling!
Simply beautiful!

My first book by the author and I totally enjoyed it.. she gave me two main characters in complete opposites but who both have something in common.
Jennifer Sucevic gave me a character to love and a story to champion… the Ending was perfectly executed!

Through the whole series Holland Tate has been the badass babe who didn't give a rat’s ass what anyone thought about what she said, what she did, or who she was. She didn't make excuses for anything. And this story gives us the perfect window into the life of Holland and how her outer shell became so resilient and hard to penetrate. We know the only one who has truly seen the squishy center is Willow. That is only because they have known each other since elementary school.

Where Holland doesn't trust anyone and has a hard time warming up to strangers Willow is the polar opposite. You could say that their being roommates at college is a good thing because it takes her out of her comfort zone. Now it's their senior year and Willow is still having to drag her to hockey games. The WAG (only girlfriends & only one wife) has deduced that it has to do with a player. After a process of elimination, the decision is that Bridger Sanderson is the likely candidate.

Now the poor guy for the last several books has been under a cyberattack. Both visually and verbally. Each time this happened he would get called into his father's office. Who happened to be the chancellor of the university not to mention, he would leave with a handprint on his face. Which in turn sported a bruise the next day. Yet, no one stepped in. After a win, everyone would head to Slap Shotz. While there everyone gets a text at the same time. Holland catches the shift in the room. The way discussions die mid-sentence, the joint intake of breath, the sudden uncertainty that crackles through the air like static before a hurricane.

Anonymous message:
Make sure someone sends the hockey ho penicillin in the morning. We all know she’s gonna need at least one dose. Maybe two.

Damn. Shots fired. She knows she shouldn’t smile. She really shouldn’t. But there’s something darkly satisfying about watching the mighty fall, especially when that fall involves Bridger Sanderson. The same type of texts have been terrorizing him for months now, and no one has been able to trace their source. Not the tech department. Not campus security not even the chancellor himself. As far as she’s concerned, Bridger deserves it. If she didn’t believe in karma before, she certainly does now. “Oh boy,” my bestie, Willow, mutters from where she’s sitting across from her.

“That’s not good.” “Says who?” Holland arched a brow, not bothering to hide her amusement. Willow tips her head in Bridger’s direction. “Probably him,” Willow asked her, “Are you ever going to tell me what happened between you two?” Holland takes a long sip of her root beer to buy time. Not deterred in the least by her silence, she lifts a brow, prodding her for an answer. Only then does she grudgingly say, “Nope.” “Ahhh. Now we’re finally getting somewhere.” She holds her hand up.

“Stop. We’re bordering on information overload. Why must you be so dang chatty? It’s such a personality defect.” But the tables turn when Bridger finds out a secret about Holland and uses it to blackmail her into doing what he needed her to do. A case of keep your friends close and your enemies closer. This was such a good book.

📚ARC Review: ‘Never Your Girl’ by Jennifer Sucevic📚
📅 Releases April 4
•Rate: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

✨About the Characters:
Holland
Holland is such an interesting character. She is tough but not too much, sweet yet sassy. She cares deeply about people. And often she’s putting herself in positions without a second thought, just to survive. Her childhood wasn’t ideal, but despite everything, she kept fighting and carrying the weight of the world on her shoulders. She is a very private person and finds it difficult to trust, but as the story unfolds, we see her slowly letting Bridger in, and it was so heartwarming to witness. Their connection grows naturally, and the way she opens up to him makes their bond feel even more special.

Bridger
Bridger’s childhood was far from warm, yet he turned out to be such a strong and admirable person. I am so proud of him. There’s a bit of mystery surrounding him, but at the same time, he has this openness that makes you want to know more. He tries to keep his emotions hidden, but around Holland, we see glimpses of his vulnerability, which makes their relationship even more beautiful. Even though his dad is a complete piece of sh*t, Bridger didn’t let that define him. Instead, he became one of the most thoughtful, respectful, and caring people, and I absolutely love that about him.

From the moment they started texting—without even realizing who they were talking to—there was this undeniable connection and a sense of safety. And once the truth came out, their bond only grew stronger, even with a few bumps along the way. The way they understood each other, supported each other, and just clicked was everything. Their banter? Absolutely perfect! It was fun, playful, and added so much charm to their dynamic.

One of my favorite things was how, without even realizing it, Holland saved Bridger. She was exactly what he needed, and he was exactly what she needed. Both of them had been through so much in their lives, and all they really wanted was someone to stand beside them through the highs and lows. And I’m just so happy they found that in each other.

✨My Thoughts:

I had been waiting for this book, and I was beyond excited to finally dive in. And let me tell you—it did not disappoint!

One of the things I love most how all the characters have each other’s backs. They’re more than just friends; they’re like a little family, always there to support one another. This book took me on a rollercoaster of emotions—there were hot moments, hilarious ones, heartbreaking ones, and even moments that made me mad. And yes, I cried (but they were happy tears!).

This story has everything I could’ve asked for and more. I loved every single second of it. And even though this is the end of the series—which makes me sad—it was such a beautiful and satisfying conclusion.

I cannot wait to see what’s coming next! I have my suspicions about who the next couple will be, but I’m going to keep that to myself for now. Whatever it is, I just know it’s going to be amazing!

I'm coming to realize that I really do love me a good enemies to more kind of romance. With Never Your Girl, Jennifer Sucevic ticks all those boxes for me as Holland Tate and Bridger Sanderson find themselves in a fake relationship that changes to real love one page at a time. This new-to-me author hit all the right spots allowing both college students to remain independent and determined yet drawn to one another even when they pretended to hate one another since a failed hook-up two years prior. But as Bridger feels desperate enough to blackmail Holland so that she is with him 24/7, what starts as frustration, mistrust and anger slowly becomes the best thing to ever happen to both of them.

Not having read any of the other books in this series didn't allow me to feel like I was lost. In fact, just by the interactions with the other members of Bridger's hockey team in this book has me wanting to go back and read the rest of Sucevic's backlist, they are all so endearing! The writing is clean and engaging. With the hockey guys a family that Bridger needed and always provided not only support but good-natured ribbing that was truly adorable.

But the main crux of this book was the ongoing battle between Bridger and Holland to continue to fight the crazy-good attraction and connection they had even though they truly seemed to get one another like no one else. As secrets are laid bare and each sees another side of their assumed enemy, I loved that their contempt for one another fell by the wayside the more time they spent together. That there was more than each saw on the surface as Bridger now understands the whys of her side job and Holland tried her hardest to understand his animosity. With mystery text messages sent to the entire student body as the underlying cause for plenty of angst for Bridger, figuring out who it was wasn't hard for me but the extra surprise at who the culprit turned out to be definitely added another layer to this storyline. And offered up a bit more empathy on both my and Holland's part for the beleaguered hockey star.

Overall, I really enjoyed this book. It was an easy read, devouring it in one sitting and I loved that Sucevic didn't overdo the drama but made it believable for both Holland and Bridger to overcome the obstacles, doubt and stubbornness to realize just how perfect they are together. As for the future, I'm very curious about the next couple to get their time in the sun and the start of a new series as these hockey players leave college and start their lives out in the world.

I totally understand the popularity of this author and this well-written series and I'm very glad to have been given the chance to read Never Your Girl. It's a keeper with enough steam and plenty of heart to make me smile.

4 big stars!
