As a sex addict, Lily Calloway must do the impossible. Stay celibate for 90 days.

Cravings and fantasies become her new routine, but while Loren Hale recovers from his alcohol addiction, Lily wonders if he’ll realize what a monster she really is. After all, her sexual compulsions begin to rule her life the longer she stays faithful to him.

Progress. That’s what Lily’s striving for. But by trying to become closer to her family—people who aren’t aware of her addiction—she creates larger obstacles. When she spends time with her youngest sister, she learns more about her than she ever imagined and senses an unsettling connection between Daisy and Ryke Meadows.

With Lily and Lo’s dysfunctional relationship teetering and unbalanced, they will need to find a way to reconnect from miles apart. But the inability to “touch” proves to be one of the hardest tests on their road to recovery. Some love brushes the surface. Some love is deeper than skin.

Lily and Lo have three months to discover just how deep their love really goes.

"Our I love yous encompass years of heartache, of hurt, of laughter and pain."

love, love, love, love, love, love, love, love, love, love, love, love, love, love, love, love, love, love, love, love, love, love, love, love, love, love, love, love, love, love, love, love, love, love, love, love, love, love, love, love. 🥲

"Grab tight, love."
"I miss you, love.
"Talk to you later, love. "
"Just relax and breath, love."
"No yet, love"
"Hold on, love."
“I wish you’re here.” “I am there, love.”
"My eyes, love, not my cock," he says, a smile behind the words.

You know the moment you’ll close a series it’s gonna hurt when first, you regret not giving a five star to the previous book while reading glimpses of the protagonists’ relationship since their very start and actually thinking how it’s gonna be hard to say goodbye to the characters when you are only going through the second of ten books or so long series.

" We started a fake relationship. We ended it. We dated. We loved. And then we separated. Pain, happiness, joy and hurt ricochet from each path taken and from each memory uncovered.
One decision can change my life forever."

Lily : the novella was more centered on her and how she perceived her addiction, how she acknowledged its repercussions on her relationship with Lo and how in a certain way she kept him trapped in his as well, when she didn’t want to break their "addiction pact" by providing each other the help they needed. Lily’s complex character in the previous book was pretty understandable in how it has never accrued to her to seek for help or to reach for support from her family.
But it’s also understandable that for certaines personnes the need to have a contextual response to why she was so selfish or self-centred in "Addicted To You" is necessary, even if it was obvious that her acts and thoughts were dictated by her addiction and the therapist’s sessions highlighted it perfectly.

"All I’ve ever wanted was for Lo to be happy. I just never thought his happiness would coincide with my depression. It seems stupid and moronic, but in order for him to become healthy, he needs to stop focusing on me so he can worry about his own problems."

First, with how Lily had this universal thought and believing that her addiction problem wasn’t tangible because she never had a triggering event to detonate it. It just happened and she just became a sex addict without any traumatizing event. She downplayed what she was going through and believed that everyone would think and do the same.

"Keeping my addiction from my family has always put this intangible gap between us."
"Because I think I know…I think I know that I’ve always felt this way, even before my addiction. Before there were any secrets at all."

Second, how she always felt and was attributed the transparent role between her too charismatic and too successful sisters. How her mother lost any interest in her when she understood that she had "no talent". why do i have the feeling that their mother is equally or more atrocious then Lo’s father and yet she doesn’t receive the hate she needs? The way she treated her daughters in this book was abominable, always running and trying to put together a "perfect family image" to the world when behind closed doors she starved one, criticized and slapped another and didn’t even acknowledge the existence of the third, Lily.

"We have an unhealthy,
co-dependent relationship.
I know this. "
" I want to grow with him.
I want to be with him.
I want to love Lo without people telling me that our love is too much. "

Lo : There weren’t much present-apparitions of his character in the novella but the flashbacks brought some life into his personage and with their moving and nostalgic retailing, they translated some important events that marked their relationship.
I don’t know If I’m an emotional mess right now or if the flashbacks are actually pretty emotional, but I cried a lot while reading them. The way Lo talked to Lily, the way he touched Lily, the way he called her "love" again and again in these segments of their past made his persona so lovable and attaching much more than in the first book. When both of them talked for the first time in this book since the last events of the previous one I cried SO HARD. The way that both of them were finally conscient of the toxic environment that they build together and lived in for years and tried/are trying to do better and be better for each other and combat their demons, ugh.. if this is not freaking well done character development.

Side Characters :
just gonna mention Ryke and how he got on my nerves
Ryke, his character was disturbing in this book, his devotion for helping Lo in the previous one was admirable but his obstinacy to remind Lily about her addiction and in how Lo was better off without her was irritating. The way he was talking to Daisy wasn’t appropriate, at all, and portrayed his personnage in more of an ugly way.

Ps: loved to buddy read this novella with my loves, Aliki and vio, and can’t wait to read the 3rd book altogether and with milo🤭🤭

“i love you and no other man will ever say those words and mean them the way i do.”

“i’m remarrying you, lil. fuck, i’d remarry you a hundred times until it stuck.”

“you don’t make me miserable. you make me want to live. and i want to live with you.”

“no, lil. you’re the opposite. you’re my stability…my home.”

loren hale is so bf. these quotes have seriously done something to me. every time lo calls lily “love”>>>>>

5 amazing stars. i’m convinced that none of these books are gonna be rated any lower. idk how, but i liked this book even more than the first one…these books are just going to keep getting better and better, i seriously don’t know if i’m prepared. this book had me blushing, kicking my feet, giggling, smiling till my face hurt, but then it also had me sobbing. again, search up trigger warnings my loves🏼

“our i love yous encompass years of heartache, of hurt, of laughter and pain. and every time we say those words, i feel the rush of our childhood. i couldn’t imagine ever losing that.”

“he’s my best friend, my whole world.”

“he’s always felt like home to me too.”

“he’s still lo. he’s still mine.”

how can anyone not absolutely adore lilo🥺they are literally so precious. the way they talk about each other and to each other is so🤌🏼i’m in love with the way they love each other. them having to spend time apart while they work on fighting their addictions, but still being so madly in love with each other literally broke me. all lily wanted was lo, but she knew they both needed this, that they both needed to be apart so they can be in a healthy relationship. them realizing that all they were doing was hurting one another and enabling each others addictions literally made me sob because i can’t imagine unintentionally doing that to someone i love :( i literally need to shut up because at this point i’m rambling and sobbing.

“how do i bear the hurt of being so lonely without hating myself at the same time?”

“hope. that’s all i have to go on right now. it’s my driving force. it’s literally what keeps me standing.”

can i just say how proud i am of lily? don’t get me wrong…i’m just as proud of lo as i am of lily but since this book is only in her pov it hits different. you go through her journey of fighting her addiction, with her🥺every time lily cried…i cried with her. honestly i don’t think i would’ve been able to handle going through lo’s journey with him at the same time. they’ve already come such a long way while they were apart. i can’t wait to read the next book and see how different their relationship is compared to how it was in the first book.

RAISY AND COBALLOWAY. how is it that this book isn’t even theirs and i’m already obsessed w them!? krista and becca ritchie really knew what they were doing because even tho this book was HEAVY on lilo…i can’t stop thinking about the raisy and coballoway scenes…they’re literally engraved in my mind.

i’m a slut for men with the last name meadows, that i know for sure.

“then whoever fucked you didn’t do it right, sweetheart.”
daisy is stronger than me because i would’ve instantly folded like okay boo show me how it’s done right.

GUYS THIS HAD ME DYING…..

“did you orgasm at all?”
“i’m…i don’t know.”
“you didn’t then.”
“but i was…”
“wet?”
“yeah…wait, no, i wasn’t.”
“this was your first time?”
“no big deal.”
“yeah, that’s a big fucking deal. what kind of asshole enters a girl on her first time without getting her aroused first? it probably hurt like hell.”
“not really.”
“i don’t believe you.” GUYS GUYS GUYS “in fact, you should stay away from any guy who doesn’t make you come at least twice before he fucks you. keep that in mind.”

PLSSSSSSS i WILL be remembering this scene when i get to their book. this book was seriously 10/10 and then it was the way connor always shows up for rose when she needs him and the way he GRINS every time he challenges her or literally anytime she’s talking…shut up they’re so cute😭

“you’re right. you don’t need a man, rose. but you need me.”
yes she does🥹

lilo, coballoway, and raisy make up my entire heart and i wouldn’t want it any other way🥺🫶🏼

ps: thank you krista and becca ritchie for this amazing series🥹it’s authors like you both and books like yours that keep me going every single day🫶🏼🫶🏼

“You’re right. You don’t need a man, but you do need me.”
Okay but that’s literally the hottest statement I’ve ever read.

Lily and Loren are both working on their addictions, and I’m so happy that this wasn’t something that is being done quickly. The Ritchies did a great job in making this as realistic as possible.

Lily has let a lot more people into her life. I’m glad that almost everyone in her life is really there for her and is helping her in this journey. I especially enjoyed Rose’s involvement. She is a really good sister. It’s important to have these characters to highlight what kind of people one needs in their own life during a difficult time. I’m also glad that we delved deeper into the root of Lily and Lo’s addictions.

I also really liked her therapist!! She teaches Lily that she doesn’t need to completely stop having sex, but she needs to find a healthy balance. She also lets Lily know that she shouldn’t feel guilty for being this way. There is usually this guilt for some people having trouble with addictions or their mental health because they feel like they have “everything” they need and other people have way worse problems. This is always a great reminder for everyone.

Ryke’s character was really cool. From afar, he seems like a total jerk, but I surprisingly liked it. I just like how real he was. Sometimes we do need those characters who genuinely do not care to impress anyone. He really cares about Lo and Lily and does a great job in helping them get through these tough times.

I also like her sisters. They are all different and unique. I saw that Daisy and Rose have their own books, but I don’t know if I’m interested enough to read them.

I also really hope to get more of Lily and Lo. Their bond is just everything.

I’m hoping to read the next book soon!!! Also, the parents in this book suck!!

The minute after I finished Addicted to You I started listening to Ricochet. Safe to say I am becoming addicted to this series!
We started a fake relationship. We ended it. We dated. We loved. And then we separated. Pain, happiness, joy and hurt ricochet from each path taken and from each memory uncovered.

This companion novel starts off right after book one leaves off, and it lasts 90 days. 90 days where Lo is in rehab staying sober and 90 days where Lily must live in the real world staying celibate. Both are getting the help they need and fighting their addictions. Even though they’re not together physically, they’re still together fighting their addictions and trying to stay strong for each other.

This, like the first book, is entirely from Lily’s pov. I really wanted more Lo in this one, like maybe some of his time away, that’s the only reason it wasn’t quite a 5 for me. I still loved it lots. It was great to get a little more time with Ryke and Daisy- I can tell their book is going to be fun!

I listened to this book, and the narration was fantastic. I think the woman who voices Lily does a fantastic job capturing her. Now on to listen to the next one and get my next fix of Lily and (hopefully more) Lo!

“Each day feels like an obstacle. And a victory.”

The missing half star is for lo’s absence

The other 4 are for lils journey with her own growth and character development. I was extremely proud of her and her willingness to take a chance on herself. Aside from the crumbs we did get of the others and lo especially through lils glimpse into their past and few present day interactions.

The closeness and bond between lily and her sisters (esp rose — the sister I’d love to have) and just the intimate overall look we got of everyone interacting here was so enjoyable! I couldn’t get enough. Rose and Connor’s banter was for sure engaging — they’re so alike and I love them sm lol. Idk how I feel about Ryke just yet as I like him bc his heart seems like it’s in the right place but certain things that transpired just felt off even tho his support is much appreciated. The support given from mostly everyone was invaluable to say the least.

Lily’s journey to recovering from her addiction isn’t an easy one as it isn’t for lo, so I know to expect the highs and lows between them. But for now, I lovedd her ability to push forward to give herself the chance to get better and be open to the help she needed.

I admired the inclusion of therapy, in helping her identify where the addiction could’ve stemmed from, and how she can work through that without placing guilt and shame upon herself. It felt like such an important step to getting her on that path that’ll eventually solidify her recovery as well as lo’s. More importantly, so they can be truly happy after much hurt and pain inflicted and enabled among each other 🫶🏼

“Our I love yous encompass years of heartache, of hurt, of laughter and pain.”

As for the few crumbs we did get of lo, they were so pleasing and it was everything. Some of it included diary like entries of lils past memories: from their journey in the beginning as friends, to their relationship as lovers, and lo navigating through his own recovery. Evidently, the connection between them begins to strengthen here (despite his absence) bc of all that they’ve been through and as they grasp what’s crucial to their well-being along the way — they begin to work on improving and abstaining from their toxic behaviors.

I lovedloveloved lo being able to comprehend and doing his best to help lil sort through her own addiction. He wasn’t enabling nor testing her limits esp during that Skype scene (I was internally screaming for lily). As a result of all that and this — the communication between them improved immensely

Overall, it met my expectations, it made laugh and feel as the emotions were deff felt here given the writing and this being lily's personal journey with her recovery, and I’m so ready for Lo’s pov finally.

4.5 ✨

Some quotes I loved:

“No, Lil,” he tells me with a short laugh. “You’re the opposite. You’re my stability…my home.”

“I am transfixed by Loren Hale, my everything.”

“I want to grow with him. I want to be with him. I want to love Lo without people telling me that our love is too much. One day, I hope we’ll get there. Hope, that’s all I have to go on right now. It’s my driving force.”

“Eyes on me, Lil.” The times he has said this 🤌🏼

“I’m some girl who decided to fill the emptiness in her heart with sex. Neglect and loneliness drove me to this place. A single choice to start and then the inability to stop.

“Giving something up isn’t the same thing as losing control. It’s the opposite, Lily. You’re taking back control.”

“We started a fake relationship. We ended it. We dated. We loved. And then we separated. Pain, happiness, joy and hurt ricochet from each path taken and from each memory uncovered.”

WHEN THEY GET A THERAPIST 😍😍😍

I loved this sequel so much!!! This is becoming one of my favorite contemporary series (a bit early to say since I'm only done with two books, but I have a feeling).
Objectively, this was so much better than the first book. The writing has improved so much, the story had a nice flow (some chapters were a bit longer than I would like them to be but you can't always win). It's not very thick so it's something you can read in a day, but so much was told in not even 200 pages???
I love Lily and Loren so much. They showed so much growth and I'm excited to see them evolve while also rooting for them to be happy together and as individuals.
I loved Lo more than Lil in the beginning (I mean he's just impossible not to adore), but she's also now growing on me, MY GIRL IS BECOMING SO MATURE 🤭💅
As I said before, side characters in this series are AMAZING and I can't wait to read about them more. I won't spoil anything, but I'm starting to dislike Ryke, the whole thing is weird to me (sorry if you like him). On the other hand, CONNOR OMG hope I get more of him in the next book.
Enough rambling, I LOVE LOVE THIS SERIES and starting book 3 RIGHT NOW!!!

WHY not 5 stars? I'm giving it an opportunity to get even better (why am i like this) + I JUST WANT LO AND LILY TO HAVE A CONVERSATION THAT'S NOT ABOUT THEIR ADDICTIONS PLS 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏

4.5⭐️ the only reason this isn’t a full 5 stars is because it was lacking Loren Hale for most of it and that’s simply: unacceptable. I am fully in love with that man, there’s no going back. I felt so much emotion for Lily throughout the whole book, how hard she was fighting is so admirable and the same goes for Lo. They deserve everything good in this world. I also love Rose so much and I love much she supports Lily. When this series is over I will be fully broken :-) sos.

First reread:
i basically cried the whole time 🥲 lily my precious ❤️‍🩹

───

I loved seeing Lily’s character development and getting insight on her addiction. I loved the scenes with her therapist. I needed more Lo but also understand that it was important to see Lily go through this journey.

She loves her sisters but just doesn’t know how to take care of them when she can barely take care of herself. She underestimates herself and what she would and wouldn’t do. She’s the biggest overthinker which is so very relatable, and it’s why I appreciate her inner monologue so much. It feels very realistic, especially with what she’s battling.

I love the greyness of all the characters. To be able to see their flaws but still be able to empathize with each character brings them to life. Even the characters you want to hate, that you feel like you should hate like Jonathan Hale, you feel such complex emotions towards him. I hate him one second but then the next he says or does something where I appreciate his character a lot.

I loved learning more about Ryke. HOWEVER, I did NOT love the relationship between Daisy and Ryke. I feel very uncomfortable with the way they interact. I felt like Lily was voicing my thoughts whenever she was around them. I’m interested and kinda scared to see how that whole relationship is going to play out though.

I think we’re all old enough to feel the scars of our upbringing. Now we just have to find a way to heal.

can this series last forever? like, can krista & becca ritchie never stop writing about this beautiful storyline? another 5 star read within the series, hands down.

lo is away at rehab for the entirety of this book. (yes, he is finally getting help)! therefore this novel is in the point of view of lily and is centered around her getting help as well which i honestly loved. she’s truly such a raw, honest, likable character. and rose is an incredible sister to her. we also get more of daisy in this! the only character i’m not feeling anymore is ryke…shady. but i just savored every sentence of this book. the writing style is immaculate; simple yet powerful. at times my heart ached and other times it smiled, yet i enjoyed every second.

the authors did a fantastic job at showcasing the importance of getting help, whether it be therapy or rehab. not only does it change your own life but it trickles down to those around you. and nobody said it’s an easy road but those who truly love you will stick by your side for support. lilo i’m cheering you guys on! i’m so happy to be able to add another lovely 5 star to my collection.

“Where are you?” I whisper.
“Right here. With you,” he whispers back.

I can fully understand now why Lilo is so loved by so many people, myself included now. It's just the way they both are the key to each other's future how they really complete each other. An each of puzzle pieces that really matched. Though in the dark times too but I hope they will be in the bright times soon.

Lilo is jsut the characters that you couldn't help but to really cheer and hope nothing but the best for them. Also hoping that everything will work out in the end for both of them. And I do, I really do from the bottom of my heart.

Now on to the review.

I suppose this is a pretty long novella if I must tell you and honestly there were some parts that I enjoyed and didn't. But mostly I enjoyed each of Lily and Lilo's scenes in this book, I really couldn't careless about the family drama in this book especially about Ryke and Daisy. It just felt like an unnecessary filler for me in the book, in which you'll be perfectly fine if this didn't exist in the book. And since some parts were just annoying as in it was unnecessary for me and I couldn't careless about everything except Lilo, some parts really feel dragging for me. Though I'm not sure why I did feel that in the flashback scene, I was just really leaning towards the present Lilo.

About the characters, I really love and I mean love it so much how it turned out for Lily in this book. How she unraveled, how she came into some sort of realization, how vulnerable she was, how in the end she became strong, how she really trying to accept and gave people chance. I love it so much and I think she evolved pretty good in this book, though this is still 2nd book and it's still to early for bigger picture but I still love her. She really turned out great. Loren turned out pretty okay too, I mean I didn't see him a lot in this book and I did feel he was getting better and I love that for him. Can I just simply say that I really love Lilo and how they turned out and really complete each other? I just couldn't wait for more of their story now that he got out from rehab.

Now, Coballoway also held a special space in my heart and I just found both of them adorable and so stinking cute. I can't help but wanting to pick up their books immediately. Ryke, on the other hand, turned out to be a fucking jerk and 24/7 pissed and I couldn't for the life of me to figure out why. He was so bad- like so so bad in this book that I really don't like him. His character consistency didn't add up in the first book and I got so many questions about him. Also I'm very uncomfortable in the way Ryke and Daisy interacted in this book considering Daisy was an underage. And Daisy was annoying so was her friends and like I said I couldn't careless about both of them because my solely focus was on Lilo.

Now the plot though- frankly it wasn't a mess but it wasn't tidy either. Like it was an abstract and to be honest when I read this I'm not sure where the fuck are we going in this book? But I suppose it served the job, to give us a glimpse how is Lily without Lo while trying to battle her addiction. Was I satisfied with this book though? Well, nope. But I do understand that it meant to be that way so we could read the 3rd book. So yeah- the plot was meh. But since I was just so immersed with Lily and Loren, it didn't bother me that much.

I want to give this 4 stars, but I honestly can't considering the plot and how some unnecessary parts were added also with other family drama especially Ryke and Daisy. So 3 stars.

I still want to continue this though though. I really hope it gets better.

ㅡㅡㅡㅡㅡ

Some choices define us. And in this moment, I make a decision that will change the course of our lives forever.
Or maybe, I just prolong the inevitable.
Either way, in my heart, I know this feels right.

One thing for sure, this series is really addicting, specially because of the wide set of characters. It got me hooked and more interested in reading the other characters’ books. I still not really into Lo and Lily and as much as this made me feel super eager and more excited to get into Rose/Connor’s and Ryke/Daisy’s books. I feel like I need a break from all of this drama. A break from the whole genre, lol! However, I’m still committed to this.

Highlights:

-The cliff jumping scene!!!
-Every Rose/Connor freakin scene. Those two are superior!

#1 Addicted to you ~ 3 stars
#2 Ricochet - 3 stars

I loved it! I was curious how it will all work out... Lo in rehab, Lily alone for 90 days... and well, it was very well played. Though we didn't have much Lo in present, we had plenty of him through flashbacks from the past. They showed how LiLo's relationship began and why they started enabling each other's addictions.

I loved how Lily and Lo realized that they needed to change to have a healthy relationship. Sure, they still have a long way to go but the urge to work on their problems is there.
My last tear falls. I can’t move to wipe it. I am transfixed by Loren Hale, my everything.
“I love you,” he says again, “and no other man will ever say those words and mean them the way I do.”
Beside our main couple and their epic love story, we also got more of Connor and Rose. And you can't do nothing but love this overconfident, know it all, preppy boy and this sophisticated, frosty, independent girl.
“She’ll be intelligent and know more than Connor and me put together.”
“That’s impossible,” Connor tells her. “We’re the two smartest people in the entire world. You put us together, and you get a superhuman.”
Not to mention Ryke... because really... I love him... can't wait for his book. There was so much of him here, it was like prelude to his and Daisy's story.
“Hate to break it to you, but sex is ten times better than skydiving.”
“No it’s not,” she rebuts.
Ryke leans forward on his chair a little. “Then whoever fucked you didn’t do it right, sweetheart.”
All in all, loved this one and highly recommend!

elly if u see this click OFF im telling u now this will not be nice . do it for me just click off . i havent done a rant review in AGES my anger has been simmering for so long i just cannot hold it back 😞😞 BACK AWAY ELLY ‼️ all other stans stay cuz i need yall to assess ur priorities and why u like shitty books cuz no way no way no way . fuck me anyways

not only was this book unbelievably boring , a lot of shit and a lot of PEOPLE [!!] pissed me off 😁😁 so good luck to ur faves because i fucking hate all of them because i enjoy life actually 🤔 lemme start 😵‍💫

writing.

writing and writing style - pota sasabihin q na lang to sa tagalog kase di ko gustong maoffend ang mga tanginang gago dito pero PUTANGINA buong librong ito nagbibigay ng kuto FJDSKFNDJN swear before i didnt and now i,,, i wont speak nalang okay 😞😞 i dont even know if thats proper grammar filipino writing is not my strongest suit BUT YK WHOSE WRITING IS ALSO NOT THE STRONGEST ?? these fucking sisters yup what a segway . either the writing is pretentious or lily speaks like a fucking movie caricature cuz the way she speaks… is it ever rlly that deep . like these bitches are so corny u are in college . no one speaks like that . shut the fuck up . like the writing is so unpalatable not because its good but because the use of adjectives is so fucking excessive that u have no idea whats happening cuz knb really wanna sound smart 😍😍 stop it . u sound dumb . i cant read 8 more books of this if the writing stays static because i might kms 👍👍 also forgot to put this in but the authors dont know subtlety at all every line and every nuance is spoonfed to us come on is that not annoying like,,

dialogue and scenes - i hate to tell the sisters this and all but,,, no normal person says anything the characters are saying . like they are not real . maybe i just dont know rich people but everything they fucking say is just so stupid like theyre so art thou and yes like what this is not shakespear were in pennsylvania 😭 or something idk its not the most fun to read about white privilege lol it kinda makes me wanna fucking die so that was fun that was really fun . ill talk about that more below cuz trust me i have thoughts 🙏👍 when do i not tho FKJSNFKDJNJK

random filler/idk where to put this shit - the white privilege in this is fucking insane . the class privilege too but well u can only be this exorbitantly rich and willfully ignorant if u are white of course , so lets discuss it 😵‍💫 i understand people find fiction as a manner of escapism , itd be stupid of me to denounce that as i do the same . i just find it kind of uncomfortable how much shit all these people get away with because ik theres only one way they could get away w it . separate fiction from real life , i get that , but its kind of hard when the stories portray real life struggles , no ? if it was a fantasy , thats fine , thats a whole different world . if its dark romance , thats fine too ! cuz most dark romances are spaces for random sexual fantisies , not to reflect real life issues . books like these though , books that grasp to be a source of comfort for people who have serious problems , will inevitably be harder for the lines to be kept completely separate . here , take this line . “Hell, I wouldn’t have been accepted to Princeton or the University of Pennsylvania without my family’s prestige." rn , im trying so hard to convince my parents to let me into this big international school that costs so fucking much because i want to study abroad , specifically in the states in one of the ivy leagues . my family has to work for that fucking money , bro . i have to work to be the best because i dont have the resources to just fucking get in . and thats a reality ill have to experience because if i do achieve my dreams , if i do get into an ivy league like ive always wanted , what of the expenses ?? im from the philippines , there isnt that much fucking money here . and once im in that school , privileged people like lily calloway who have rich families will always remain because they have fucking connections and money . that fucking sucks bro . " her family chose that life not her " is that supposed to make me fucking feel any better ??? fuck off really just fuck off . another thing that pisses me off about this whole thing is that all the characters act like theyve really been through the brunt of it . like yeah sure u have trauma but to act as if ur the most unfortunate person on this earth then strutting into galas wearing a gown that could pay for my tuition crying your eyes out because u didnt want to be here GOD . lily acknowledged that privilege once because she was deflecting her problems , not because she actually cared . everything about their money and their whiteness and their refusal to accept accountability and their selfishness and them acting as if no one could ever have it worse than them,,, its such a slap in the fucking face

plot.

overall plot, premise, and random shit - this is a like novella or something so its more character driven but that doesnt exempt it from being bad 😭😭 " this is a novella its not gonna be state of the art quality " no one cares assess ur reviewing priorities because they do not sound quality 🙏 overall the book was just boring like god i love boring shit but this was just,,,, not good . the first book started out so strong and then,,,,

characters.

➷ lily - god this review will be so long cuz i have so much to day but LILY my girl do u want elly to murder me 😭😭 work with me and shut the fuck up please 😞 bc my ass will be dead by tomorrow im sure of it anyways lets start !! lily , as im sure u hear awhile ago in my white part , she isnt my fav KJSFJDNK . but even disregarding that and pushing it to the back for a second,,, shes kind of annoying yall like sorry 😭 shes always mentioning that shes a nerd and that shes different and while her feeling invisible is valid , her saying shes a nerd every two seconds is fucking annoying . pabebe ass DO U GO TO ATENEO ANSWER QUICK 😟😟 its like knb put one interest for her and its just : nerd . her life revolves around being fucking whipped for media this is why we shouldve never stopped bullying nerds 👎 like im obsessed with books dont get me wrong but it isnt all i talk about cuz im not a loser ????? like pleek HELLO ?? also more serious topic now , how she acted to ryke being molested ?? god she can die . both her and lo . LAUGHING ???? i understand the person who SNUCK INTO RYKES BED AND STARTED GROPING HIM AND WAS INTENDING TO DO MORE WHILE HE WAS FUCKING ASLEEP is a minor , but at 15 u know not to fucking do that . fuck lily for laughing and for calling him ridiculous. the fact that she was almost sa'd as well but when it happened to ryke she laughed and called him names,,, the double standard is insane . that wasnt okay thats never okay its kind of funny to me actually how people never bring that up and are like if u hate lily calloway ur a loser !!! do u lack a moral compass answer quick . god i am physically incapable of liking her . do yk how terrible that is ? telling someone about something that happened to you and being called names for it ? god . this girls needs to get a fucking life

➷ lo - and fuck u too loren hale . he was my favorite cuz he wasnt here to talk and cause mess but uhm “The part where Ryke is scared of a high school girl. What a pussy,” he says with a laugh. like he needs to get jumped bad . this is why everyone hates u . lily and lo soulmates 😍 invalidating someones sa experience 😍 “I can handle you. I have a greater chance of getting raped outside this room. “You honestly believe they’ll rape you?” He’s being ridiculous. they have one friend and its each other . god thats insane just patheticism . anyways lo is kinda vile and terrible and mean but yk what its funny i had a laugh

➷ ryke - ryke is no less of a freak than the other two . just evil people all around just terrible !! daisy is fifteen this entire novel . fifteen . god shes a CHILD and hes flirting with her , making comments about her boobs , talking to her viscerally about sex EVEN AFTER lily was like shut the fuck up . hes fucking insane climb rocks and never come back please 👍 Ryke leans forward on his chair a little. “Then whoever fucked you didn’t do it right, sweetheart.” GOD shes fifteen fuck get it through ur thick ass skull . i understand he doesnt intend to flirt , and thats really his personality , but when there are kids around maybe fucking change ur attitude u sick fuck . god . PLUS HES SO NOSY ???? NONE OF THESE PEOPLE HAVE FRIENDS ASIDE FROM EACH OTHER AND IT SHOWS CUZ ALL THESE BITCHES R JUST PATHETIC LOSERS 👎👎

➷ daisy - daisys annoying . sorry ! sorry . She nods with a goofy smile. “Some fashion lines like the quirky thing. You know, the bushy brows, gap-tooth sorta look.” … “I kinda wish I had a cooler signature trait.” its so hard being conventionally attractive omg… also cmon does that not sound motivated somehow LIKE IDK shes just annoying . shes supposed to be the girl with mental health issues so i was like omg shes so me but wow the ignorance really just permeates through every fucking character its laughable

➷ rose - no one likes rose . " shes an ice queen " is this fucking avatar the last airbender ?? rose as white katara guys #REAL . please . “His therapist is also his ‘best friend.’ So no, we do not have that in common. I actually have people close to me that I love. Like you and Poppy and Daisy…” u see how not a single friend that isnt her family was mentioned ?? what a lewser . u suck rose . no friends , no nothing . i hope shakespear wrote somewhere that u should get that stick out of ur ass hmph

➷ connor - connors a guy who has a cat so i would like him but he encourages rose to be herself and thats not something i want so fuck connor too

➷ samantha - samantha calloway is so delibirately obtuse and such a fucking 3d villain its laughable . im pretty sure people like her exist but cmon shes just pathetic . the writing for her is so poor give her motivation or something fuck ??? like drama for drama for real . “Women like us have a figment of power. In the end, we’re all marionettes to men...” white feminism always just rattles my bones i hate it when white women speak like im so serious . i dont even think hcing these characters as filipino could fix them . just terrible .

romance.

➷ lilo - lilos cute i fear . although theyre both terrible people , the couples kinda cute 😒 THE FIRST PHONE CALL ☹️☹️☹️ CUTENESS !! funny thing that happened tho : "I’m trying to be better about it, but some things still make me uncomfortable. Especially since Lo isn’t here to help ease me into this new, terrifying social world.” like lo would deliberately make it worse ive seen it before . ive finished one book and ik that for sure just embarassing 😭 the first book made it seem as though theyve only seldom touched each other but no theyve BEEN touching i was like woah

➷ cabolloway - i wished u guys murdered each other during one of ur debates im tired of the both of u #justice4sadie

➷ raisy - walk in a jail cell ryke , yeah ? then never come out . better yet die doing something u love , climb a mountain then fall violently to the ground 🙌

final thoughts.

my lip started bleeding during a sex scene . dont know why . thought that tiny bit of information would be more interesting than anything that happened in this book . also did not proofread gn 😋

** FULL SPOILER-FREE REVIEW NOW POSTED **

I am LOOOOVING this series!! Totally ADDICTED!!!

This the kind of story that I most love to read -- a story of two people who are so completely and deeply in LOVE with each other fighting as hard as they can to overcome the obstacles in their lives and be together.

Ricochet is a full length companion novel to  Addicted To You and continues Lily & Lo's tumultuous, heartfelt and emotional journey. I can't get enough of this series!!!

“I love you,” he says again, “and no other man will ever say those words and mean them the way I do.”

As a quick, spoiler-free recap, Lily and Lo have been in each other's lives since they were kids, they are both best friends and lovers, but they each have an addiction -- she's addicted to sex, he's addicted to booze -- and in the last book they reached a point of no return where things needed to change... I won't mention any more though because I don't want to spoil the story for anyone. But just be sure to read book #1 first!

From the first few pages of this book, I was reminded why I love this series so much with this quote ...

"I don't think many people can understand what it's like to be so invested in someone... We have an unhealthy, co-dependent relationship.

I know this.

And I'm trying to change, to grow beyond him, but why does that have to be a stipulation?

I want to grow WITH him.

I want to BE with him.

I want to love Lo without people telling me that our love is too much."

The story told in Ricochet takes place over 3 months in between the first and second novels but I consider it a must read for anyone interested in reading this series. When I first heard about it and realized that it was a full length book as opposed to a novella, I wondered why it wasn't just labelled as the second book in the trilogy but, having read it, I now understand.

It has a very different vibe than the first one. While it is still told from Lily's POV, we see a lot of Rose & Connor and Daisy & Ryke which serve to set up their books which will be coming next year as spin-off novels, but we also do see quite a bit of Lily & Lo too through both flashbacks and present day scenes but just, given their situation, their interactions are a little different than in book #1 but no less emotional.

I just loved them together SO much!! As I mentioned before, they're exactly the kind of couple that I love to read about. In this book we see them both trying to get better and rid themselves of their addictions. But the road is not easy and they each have their own battles to fight but what gets them through is holding on to their unshakable love for each other.

"You make me want to live. And I want to live with you."

The pacing of this book is also a little different than the first - there were some slower parts but there were also some absolutely EPIC scenes that gave me shivers!!! Seriously a few of the scenes were just pages and pages on end of pure awesome! I love that there is a larger character group than just Lily & Lo (even though I love them to bits and they're the highlight of the story for me) but I love the whole family dynamic and seeing each of these characters' issues and quirks and personalities play out. It's genuinely the kind of cast where I'm interested in pretty much everyone.

Lily's therapist also was another highlight. With her help, Lily begins to see a light at the end of her tunnel as she's shown that maybe there is a way for her and Lo to use their love to help one another heal.

"Rose tells me that he's enabled you your whole life, and in turn, you've enabled him… In order to become healthy, you're going to have to do the reverse. Instead of enabling each other, you'll need to help each other."

All the scenes with Lo once again tugged each and every one of my heart strings. I think it's a sign of how invested in a story you are when even the mention of someone's name kicks your heart into overdrive. If it's possible, I love him even more after reading this book!!

Lily and Lo had so much to work through both individually and together but what I loved most about them, and the element that has put this story on my favorites shelf, is how much they wanted to be together and how they were pretty much able to go to any lengths to help each other heal. And how not being together was just never an option, not really. That is the epitome of the kind of book I love and the reason I'm so addicted to this series -- where you have damaged characters with a ton of issues fighting to be together and to make a functional relationship work -- where it's not about stupid mistakes but genuinely about overcoming the obstacles life gives them. Together.

"If we want to stay together, like REALLY stay together and not go back to enabling each other, then yes, we're going to have to talk. I need to know when you're freaking out, and you need to know when I am so that we can stop each other from doing stupid shit."

With Lily & Lo, I really felt like the emotions were deepened because their relationship went back to childhood and so their lifelong history together really gave their story so much more depth.

"Am I [a trigger]?"

"No, Lil," he tells me…"You're the opposite. You're my stability…my home."

I really just want to highlight how much respect I have for these authors for not incorporating any "stupidity" into the story. There was genuinely no "drama for drama's sake". I absolutely adored that there wasn't any "big bad" trying to keep them apart. Facing their addictions was big enough of an obstacle and I loved that there were no external plot elements that came between them. Everything that happened made sense and the focus was on them finding a way to be together and to be healthy. I have to say that I am SO impressed that I am now two books into this series and not even once have I rolled my eyes at anything. It was just them working as hard as they can to make their relationship work. And. I. LOVED. It.

"He's given me hope again. That I'll kick this addiction. And I won't have to be alone when I do it."

Also for the record, since I know many of you are wondering about this -- there is no cheating!!

This might sound like an odd combination but I almost feel like fans of the Crossfire series and the Find You In The Dark series will enjoy this. *happy sigh*... I just love these books.

This series shows the journey of two people willing face their worst demons for the sake of love. Lily and Lo's story is heart wrenching, emotional, and addictive. If you're looking for a new series to fall in love with, I highly recommend picking this one up!!  ♥

THIIIIS COUPLE OMGGG!!! I CAN'T EXPRESS HOW MUCH I LOVE THEEEM. They came in my life to stay for good, i can't get them out of my mind. The only reason i reduced one star, is because i wanted more lilo content. At this point, i really don't care for the teasers about the other couples, sorry not sorry. GIVE ME EVERYTHING ABOUT LILO I WANT IT ALL.

The flashbacks of this book are my weakness and stregth. I can't get enough of them. I adore the time before they got together, how they would tease each other, the tension between them, how bad they wanted each other. I already have gone back and reread all of them and i am planning on doing it again and again and again. The fact that lo would repeatedly call her love, waay before they got together, because lily told him one time that it was her favourite endearment!!! I WANT TO SCREAM EVEN AS I WRITE THIS. I kept giggling and kicking my feet everytime the word love came in the book!!

I was so sad about their current situtation but at the same time so happy and proud of them for battling their demons. Every time they interacted i had butterfliees in my stomach and i wanted to cry at the same timee. Can't wait to see them getting back together stronger and healthier.

I really related to lily at the scene with her therapist. Not because we had similar life, or similar problems, these were completely different. But for the guilt she was feeling, how her problemes were not "traumatic enough" for her to react that way. She wanted something wrost to have happen to her to "turn her" like that and was embarrased that there wasn't. I related so much to that, and i think many people will as well!! How we always think about things could have been way worse, so we dont deserve to feel sad, or grief, or react to our current situation. This i come to realise is so so toxic way of thinking, everyone deserves to embrace their feelings and to seek help, to heal. It doesn't matter the situation, how you feel is valid and important!! Life afterall, doesn't consists of huge lifechanging events, (these events are usually rare) but many small moments which provoke different emotions, and feeling them all is worth it!!

Now on the negative parts (i am not gonna focuse a lot on them). As much as i liked Ryke in the previous book, i desliked him in this one. I hated how he treated lily in the begining chapters. I liked his bickering with daisy at first, but i believe later on it developed to something inappropriate for her age and how close they were. I hated how he spoke to her and really wanted to skip those moments!!

All in all i am super excited and can't wait to read the rest of the books. Lilooo i am living for you babeess <3

Ps: this wa smy first buddy read with lilyya and vio AND I LOVED IT. Can't wait to read the next book with you as weeell❤️🤭

"You're my stability... You're my home."

Ricochet gutted me on an emotional level. At first I was afraid I wouldn't like it because Lo isn't around and I thought the long distance won't be able to compliment the book but I was surprised to find myself pleased with how the whole situation was handled.

In this companion novel, Lo and Lily were apart and they were working on getting rid of their addiction-- Lo being in a rehab miles away while Lily being celibate and spending her time with her sisters Rose and Daisy.

I love how everything turned out good for both of them despite the loneliness they've endured. With this experience, they were able to test themselves and find out if their love for each other stays the same.

Will we still love each other if he's sober and I'm wading through the things that torment me? Will he fit into my life if I'm struggling with my addiction while he's healthy and absolved from his?

This novel also included bits and pieces of happenings from their past. Through the flashback narration, I was able to appreciate Lily and Lo's characters more because of their imperfections that made them more human and vulnerable.

I love how the secondary characters were also highlighted here-- like Daisy and Ryke's romantic build-up and Rose and Connor's irresistibly charming love affair. I just wish that there's more Lo and Lily phone/Skype interaction here and better yet, a Lo POV.

This novel as a whole, was a soul-wrenching continuation of Addicted to You. I legitimately cried and swooned and everything!

I'd heard this book was bad/filler because it has the separation trope but it was shockingly well written. Lily and Lo's relationship was really well done. They both healed separately, not instantly or completely but enough to get their relationship to a really healthy and cute point where they help rather than enable each other. Rose, Lily and Daisy's relationships and respective characters were expanded really well and interestingly, and Rose and Connor's relationship was really fucking good. I'll be honest, I've read/heard about a lot of their relationship in their separate books and I honestly think it was better in these earlier books when they're side characters. I hope I'm wrong, I hope it gets better as opposed to being ruined by angst, but we'll see. My only complaint was Ryke. I like him as a character, but he was constantly doubting Lily and although he has a good connection with Daisy, he's in like his early twenties and she's 15. He needs to stop talking about sex with her. I love a good age gap, but only when the characters are at a similar point in life (and fucking legal). A 25 year old and 35 year old makes sense but like even a 16 year old and 19-20 is sketchy, yk what I mean. Anyways, aside from that this was really good and I'm hoping the series will continue to get even better 🤞🏻

description

You know when you read a book, and you become so HOOKED, so OBSESSED with the characters that you just wish they were real? That you could be a part of their story, or maybe just jump into the pages and hold them and hug them and tell them it'll all be ok? Well that's exactly what I want to do with Lily & Lo. The pain they both went through during this book just tore me up inside. I love the fact that they are both finally willing to try and get their lives in order because of the love they have for one another.

I just love how they love, so passionate and so unapologetic.

I JUST LOVE THEM!!!! I know I said love like 16 times in this review, but I just need to get it out. I haven't felt this passionate about characters in a series in a long time and it's just making me want to burst with giddiness!

"I no longer craved for something more. He was enough."

Side note- I LOVED (I know, again) getting to know more about Connor & Rose and Ryke and Daisy. They are so entertaining and also a nice little break from the heaviness that surrounds Lily & Lo's addictions and recovery. Especially the banter between Rose & Connor (I am SO looking forward to their book) and Ryke's blunt demeanor.

I picked up Ricochet as soon as I finished with Addicted to You - I got so immersed into the lives of these characters, that I ignored everything else: buddy reads, reviews, friends, boyfriend... And it was worth it!

First, I would like to point out one thing. Ricochet is a full-length novel that must be read before Addicted for Now, second book in the series. Don't mind that it is something-point-something. This is not a novella that you can skip and not miss out any important details. I know that it was published after second novel, but I don't think I would be able to enjoy reading Addicted series if the authors haven't decided to write these in between stories and build, lets call it a bridge that connects timeline.

One thing that is different if you compare it with other two books, is that story is equally focused on all characters although it is told from Lily's point of view. We find out more about Ryke and Daisy, but also about Connor and Rose. I was worried in the beginning that it would turn into Gossip Girl fanfiction - they are all rich kids with too much free time - but it did not. Steam level is much higher than in Addicted to You - snippets to Lily's past were cold-shower-worthy. And there are barely any explicit scenes - Krista and Becca Ritchie know how to write perfect build-up of tension and emotions.

I became Ryke's fangirl. Most of the readers are all about Connor, but Ryke is such an intriguing character. I cannot wait to find out more about him and Daisy.

And, it is official - I got addicted! Big thank you to all ladies who chatted with me on Twitter, Instagram and Goodreads - Siiri @ Little Pieces of Imagination, Amy @ Foxy Blogs, Angela @ Feeding My Addiction Book Reviews, Nick @ Nick's Book Blog, Lisa @ Lost in Literature.

Pain, happiness, joy and hurt ricochet from each path taken and from each memory uncovered.

RICOCHET is a companion to the sequel: A full-length New Adult Romance that continues where Addicted to You left off. As a companion novel, it bridges the gap between the first and second book. It is highly recommended to be read before Addicted for Now.

RICOCHET is the three months that Lily and Lo go about working on ridding themselves of their addictions. Being healthy in both mind and body is their goal. Learning what triggered their addictions is a big step in recovery. The back history of their relationship told throughout the book helps the reader understand how this couple goes from best friends to lovers.

I'm officially hooked on this series and will be moving onto the next book right away.

Addicted series is interconnected with two spin-offs. The authors have written the books in 3 “phases”. Each phase is a complete story line with a satisfying enough conclusion.

Recommended reading order:
PHASE 1 (Lily & Lo):

PHASE 2 (Rose and Connor) | (Daisy & Ryke):

There are a lot of things I didn't like about this book, but Lily really grew on me, and as an academic rivals to lovers enthusiast, I can't wait for Conner and Rose's book. Daisy and Ryke on the other hand, the idea of them getting together in later books fills me with so much rage.
