Explosive Conclusion, But Not

This story really got to me, as I’ve said in reviews of the prior books. This one is also very interesting, but to me the “ending” was a little convoluted.

Not that the ending wasn’t possible, but I just felt that everything came together rather quickly, whereas the story up till then was slow and twisted.

Then we get to the epilogue. It’s completely out of the blue, with no real transition from the main body of the story. I couldn’t understand why it was even there, until the final sentence (the end, for now).

You see, even though the details/intro of the book says that this book is “the explosive conclusion” of the story, it’s not. There’s more to come.

And that more looks to be spread across digital, hard copy, and the author’s Patreon pages.

Unfortunately, I have to view this as an obvious grab for our (the readers) money. And that really disappointed me. I love this author and feel that the stories and writings are wonderful and exciting. But to state that this book is “the explosive conclusion” and then tell us at the end of the book that to really read the conclusion we need to spend more, well “I’m disappointed.”

It bothered me so much that I even felt that I should downgrade my stars to just 2. But I didn’t think that was fair, as it is a good story.

As mentioned I wasn’t really happy with the ending, but then I guess that this really isn’t the ending. I think you can, somewhat logically, quit reading with this book and be somewhat satisfied. So I didn’t want to discourage people from reading it, by giving a low rating.

Why, oh why can’t the powers that be, be truthful to their readers and not tell us one thing in the intro and another in the book.

I liked the story so much that, maybe against my better judgment, I’ll fall for the author’s game (I almost said “con game”, but that’s not fair.) and I’ll spend for the Patreon.

So get this book if you’ve come this far.

I still love the story.

I have been thoroughly absorbed by this tale, which is much more than just a cuckolding story. Garland builds characters, some of whom you will love to hate. Emmie, for instance, who evoked the strongest feelings from me since Nia, from KT Morrison’s Cherry Blossom. But that’s okay; I want that. I tire of straightforward, ‘happy-ever-after’ endings, because the authors know they will get slaughtered if they don’t leave the reader with a ‘happy ending’.

Highly recommended.

Twists and turns.

Very good plot.
Emotions high and low.
The mixture of despair, jealousy, arousal and the eroticism of being deceived is very well portrayed.
