Scarlett James is a twenty-five year old struggling actress who has had a rough upbringing in Leesville, Colorado. Her mother abandon her, brother Johnny and her father when she was nine years. Her dad had worked hard to be the dad and mom while pursuing his dream as a race car driver and almost made it in the professional circuit until he broke his back while fixing their roof during the snow. Scarlett had only had one serious role in acting since she graduate from Brown University in a soap opera. She met her ex-boyfriend Anton Chekhov when she was twenty-two fresh out of college. He was abusive and did a number on her where she had to be hooked on prescription drugs until her dad made her go into rehab. If she knew that her ex was demented and psychotic with ties to the Russian Bratva mafia she would've stayed away from him. Since coming out of rehab she had been trying to get her life back on track and pursue her dreams. She works as a waitress at the Happy Snappy Diner and cleaning offices with the Ever After agency to save money so that she could get out of her dad's house.
Scarlett had just finish working a fifteen hour shift to make a extra hundred dollar. She was tired and couldn't wait to get home to bed and was driving at midnight in a terrible rain storm. When she got home she noticed that the front door was already open and know that her dad or Johnny would never do that. As soon as she hit the living room she her yelling and her dad crying out in the kitchen. She ran in and saw a big burly kicking him in his stomach and threaten him saying he wants his money. As it turn you they had borrow a loan for three hundred and fifty thousand dollars with a promise of paying ten thousand dollars a day. She had to give them all of her money that she was saving which was ten thousand dollars for them to stop beating him. As it turns out it was her brother Johnny who had borrowed the money to build a race track and he borrowed it from none other than her ex-boyfriend Anton Chekhov. Johnny skipped out and now Anton wants all his money by Monday unless he's going to take the house, the mechanic shop and her. She was livid because she didn't know when they borrowed all that money and she had been working two jobs while they got all that money. Her father told her of a plan where they could get the money by Monday. You see Johnny is always doing something type of scheming and always getting in trouble and following the wrong type of crowd ever since he was teenager.
He tells her that Johnny was hired at an underground club and she immediately knows that was another one of his hair brain scheme because nobody would hire him. They'll have to steal a software chip from a vault and the job pays four hundred thousands dollars. However, the caveat is that the chip belongs to Micah Delarosa, an underboss in the Italian mafia in New York. City. He tells her that he will be gone for two days because he was told that it was an in-and-job and no one will know that he was there. She knows that her dad will not be able to do it so she tells him that she will go. Micah is the heir and next Don to the Delarosa empire after is after retires in the next five months. Micah is a handsome thirty-three year billionaire eligible bachelor six-four, muscular with hazel eyes.
The Don must have a wife to solidify the position. His father wants him to marry Eloise Francesco is cheating ex-girlfriend, who he caught in bed with her professor over a decade ago. Micah had been scarred since then and never had a serious relationship and only fuck around. But now his dad gives him one week to fine his own wife unless he will have to marry Eloise at the end of the month. And if he fight him on the marriage thing he will only be able to take the lead of the family in name only because his dad is putting someone else in charge of the company. They were at the Grand Vittoria a hotel which named after his grandfather who started their empire in the US. And it's one of the most prestigious in New York. Micah was pissed off with the meeting with his father about finding a wife. But as he was trying to clear his head and was going to the hotel bar he spot a raven hair beauty sitting at the bar drinking that looks like she has the world and her shoulders and was all up in her head thinking. He decided that this girl was going to be his for the night. Scarlett decided to have a couple of drinks to calm her mind before she go to steal the chip. She had just decided that she had had enough drinks and needed some water before she call it a night. And when she look up there was one in front of her with the most beautiful man that she had ever seen.
He started flirting with her and tell her to come up to his room. She thought why not she could pretend for a couple of hours. She thought that he was a bartender since he was behind the bar unbeknowing to her that it was Micah the man that she came to rob. They went up to his room and decided on having a one night stand with no names, no strings attached only fictitious names. She was is
Bellezza and he was her Mr. Dreamy for one glorious night and she was dreaming of the future with him the next morning. Micah was looking for her when he woke up the next morning even though he knew that's how one night stand work. He thought there was looking for a wife and he meet that one woman he couldn't have. She was the only woman to interest him in years and he doesn't even know her name. Scarlett stole the chip and went back home but when she tried to make the deal it was blank which means no payment. Micah came right in time when Anton guys was beating up her dad and kill them, then he and Brahm took back to his safe house to interrogate them. Micah told her that she stole something from him and he wasn't just talking about the chip.
Micah can't get Scarlett out of his mind he became obsessed so he offers her a proposition. Marry him for a year and he'll pay off her debt to Anton and give her a million dollars half now and the half at the end. He keeps seeing them in the mirror during the passion of their love making. He tells her that if she runs he'll find her and won't stop chasing her. Because the thing with them isn't over. The two got married and was happy but her unhinged ex wants her back and will do anything to get her even exploit her greedy no good brother. Micah will burn the place down to keep and protect her because she was his even start a war if he have to. There's so many things going on in background a hacker trying to steal a chip that could give them the ability to launder their money under the radar without the feds knowing. And in house traitors who are trying to fraught the success of the chip by the Delarosa's. They receive their hard fought HEA by fighting and sticking together.

This book left me unsure of how I felt about it. I liked Micah and Scarlett, I enjoyed the secondary characters a lot, especially Micah’s mom (but oh my gosh Brahm had me all 😍). I appreciated Micah’s unwavering support of Scarlett’s desire for a career. I loved their meet cute, their love story, and the way they interacted with each other. But it was super light on the mafia aspect I expect from a mafia series (especially as it follows Jaxon and Gabriella’s book which was mafia heavy).

However, my biggest issue was the storyline, or more specifically, the pacing. There were parts where the pace was practically pedantic. Way too much inner monologue and no action. The first real meaningful action, outside of the characters meeting, doesn’t happen until around the 30% mark. Then it dries up until around the 80% mark. It left me feeling a bit put off, honestly. I really worried there wasn’t going to be a resolution to either of the supposedly big problems facing Micah and Scarlett.

But as I mentioned, Brahm, Brahm, Brahm! Not sure what it was about him the hooked me, but hooked I am. Unfortunately, now I have to wait for his story.

In Heartless Sinner, Scarlett is an aspiring actress, struggling with money. She works at a diner and for a cleaning company just to survive. She finds out her father owes a lot of money to her abusive ex boyfriend who wants her back. She’s desperate to pay him back because she never wants to see him again. She is told to steal something that’ll give her a huge payday. She’s only given details about the location, not what she’s stealing or who she’s stealing from. That night, she’s nervous but meets a handsome stranger and they end up having a passionate night together. However it turns out the person she stole from is that very same man. He’s the ruthless mafia boss you don’t want to cross, Micah DeLarosa.

The minute Micah and Scarlett meet, there’s instant chemistry. Their attraction is deep. The next time they see each other the attraction is still there. The circumstances are different now that she knows who she stole from. Micah gives her the opportunity of a lifetime. He will pay off her father‘s debt and protect her from her ex. All she has to do is marry him for one year. However, Scarlett‘s ex is also powerful and will stop at nothing to get her back. Will Scarlett take the offer? Will she be able to pursue her dreams? Will Micah be able to protect her?

Faith Summers transported me into the mafia world where some men will step on anyone for more power and do anything to keep it. In the same world, other men will protect their loved ones at all costs. I was on the edge of my seat. There were shocking twists that I wasn’t expecting. Yet, there were some funny and heartfelt moments. I was laughing so much in one scene and crying in the next. Let’s just say women are not as shy as they seem. The scenes between Scarlett and Micah were so hot. I loved the epilogue and I’m so excited we have another story coming out soon.

1.5* Terrible. Endless s*x, very tiny plots which are ridiculous , and wasn’t a proper mafia book.

Aw what a shame. After I actually enjoyed the last book, I thought I might as well read this one. I wish I hadn’t. The plot about a microchip and a blueprint was barely mentioned, I’m still clueless about why everyone wanted it, and how they knew about it! Micah is supposed to be the next Don after his father steps down yet he hardly seems to do any work. The endless s*x scenes are way over the top, and I can’t believe that she wouldn’t be sore after all that s*x!

Scarlett agrees to steal a microchip from Micah’s safe, when her dad really stupidly borrows money from her ex. Her ex who apparently somehow got her addicted to opioids by ‘secretly’ giving her them. 😂😂😂😂😂😂 How do you ‘secretly’ give anyone multiple doses of tablets everyday???? It’s ridiculous! I didn’t like her father as he’s an idiot who puts his daughter in danger several times. When Scarlett goes to steal the chip, (That everyone wants for some bizarre reason.) she has a one night stand with a hot stranger who turns out to be Micah who she’s stealing from. OH GOOD GRIEF! Scarlett is given the passcode to the safe, but again it’s not explained how they that!!!!! 😡😡😡

For some bizarre reason Micah is really taken with Scarlett, I’m not sure why, and makes a deal that she’ll marry him for a year and he’ll pay her debts. Of course they are soon madly in love, but Scarlett’s ex who is in the Bratva won’t give her up.

Sorry but the plot is ridiculous.

This is one dark and dangerous romance where Scarlett is ready to start over after her ex and all the turmoil and abuse he caused her by working several jobs saving. Micah is one powerful and ruthless mafia man that finds himself ready to take over for his father and find those after his software and marry to be the next Don. When Scarlett’s father finds himself in an impossible situation she steps up and does what she believes is necessary to pay off a debt her brother took with her ex then leaving them to pay. When Scarlett is tasked with stealing to pay off the debt she’s able to accomplish it only to be found by her one night stand from the previous night who shows her who’s in charge. Micah offers Scarlett a deal - marry for a year and he’ll pay off her debts and protect her from the crazy ex. The suspense and steam between Scarlett and Micah is one that surprises them so when danger comes her way Micah does what is necessary to keep her safe! Those responsible for the danger and attempted threat are a step behind Micah and boy does he give them what they deserve…his justice!

Scarlett is a struggling actress and when she returns home from her normal job, she finds someone beating her father up. Turns out her brother borrowed money from her ex and has put them all in danger because of it. Her dad tells her about something he is going to do to make some money, but he is too hurt to do it, so she agrees to do it. Once she is in New York she goes to a hotel bar to drink some courage before she did anything. This is how she meets Micah neither shares their names and share an amazing night together. the next day she steals the chip and Micah learns who she really is. Will Micah be out for revenge? Or will he give her a chance to explain?

There may be some aspects that could be triggering for some so be warned.

This is a great story that will draw you in from beginning to end. This is a well written and very entertaining story. Its a book that any book lover would enjoy.

Every single book Faith puts out has been absolutely brilliant. I love her writing and how her characters are written. Her writing hooks you immediately and keeps you anxiously flipping the pages. Whenever I start her books I can’t stop until I’m finished! They’re THAT great!
Micah and Scarlett’s story was addicting right from the start. Their attraction to each other was instant and the chemistry they had was very good! I enjoyed every second of their story. And I was over the moon happy when Micah’s mom, Genevieve, laid into his bitchy ex. But it was even better when his dad finally came around and cut ties, which was a moment I would’ve loved to have seen in the book.
One character that caught my attention right away was Brahm. There’s so much I need to know about him! His story is next, and honestly it can’t come quick enough!!!

She returns home to finds out that her brother has put her father into the crosshairs of her cruel ex.
Scarlett agrees to try to save her father from her ex.
Micah and Scarlett are attracted to each other. A one night stand turns into so much more.
This is a story that moves quickly. The main characters are likeable. Micah is a strong alpha with fierce loyalty to his family and the woman he loves.
Scarlett wants to save her dad from her ex. She is loyal to her father for all he did for her.
There are a number of villains and a small mystery, as to who wants the blueprints.
Enjoyed reading this and look forward to Brahms' story.

In this book we meet Scarlett & Micah Delarosa. After running from her ex and believing that she has gotten away from him. She decides to have a little fun with someone she never thought she would see again. Little did she know this is the one man she will need help from before she is truly free. Micah has heard the rumors about the latest program they are developing being stolen. So he and his business partner put out their own rumor to catch the thief. Little did he know he would find the one woman he can't forget. Can they find a HEA or will others make sure that never happens?

Another amazing story by this author. I would highly recommend it to anyone.

ONS to insta attraction to arranged marriage, mafia, traitors, tension, and lots of spice.

This is a 4 star for me, but that could be me personally. There was almost as much spice as storyline. Which is fine. But the story line was so good it could have been fleshed out more. Like the wedding was one page almost. I would have enjoyed a lot more of the storyline. There was inrigue, tension, mystery and so much goodness.

This is not the first book in the series but can be read as a stand alone, I actually had not read the others before I read this. Everything you need to know will be given to you.

This is the fifth book in the Empire of Sinners series. It has interconnected characters but you can read it as a standalone. Micah Delarosa and Scarlett James have a steaming hot night together but their paths cross again in dangerous circumstances. There’s a lot going on in this story—Scarlett trying to save her dad (who was trying to save her brother), rival factions, evil exes, and a short term marriage contract. I loved how Micah was a tough underboss at work but softer with Scarlett. Also, Micah’s mother—she takes no prisoners! It’s a fast moving story with lots of steam, family ties, betrayal and love.

This is the fifth installment in the Empire of Sinners Series and can be read as a standalone. This must read page-turner is a beautifully written dark, erotic, Mafia romance, filled with action, drama, suspense and twist and turns. It's original storyline had me captivated from the start and kept me on the edge of my seat. I couldn't put it down once I started reading it. Micah and Scarlett are likeable characters with an undeniable chemistry and instant attraction from the start. Highly recommend reading this and I look forward to reading more from Summers.

A one-night stand turns into an obsession and also into a theft. Micah is the Italian mafia boss. Normally anyone caught stealing from him would be made an example of. However, something about Scarlett has him changing his ways. Scarlett had to help pay a debt that her brother acquired, and her father was unable to do it.

What do you get when you have a demented ex, a useless brother, a doting father and a mafia boss all in one story? You get a heartless sinner! Scarlett will be able to help not only her father, but also Micah if she agrees to marry him and stay for 1 year.

Scarlett had a job to do at this gorgeous old New York hotel. She accepted the bartender's invitation. Little did she know her night of pleasure was with Micah Delarosa, whose family owns the hotel, the very man she was supposed to steal an important chip from the safe to earn $350,000 to save her father. She flew back to Denver with the chip leaving Micah recognizing her on his security tapes without a clue about her destination or her name! How their romance develops as they fight her Bratva-connected ex kept me turning pages!

Fantastic Sinner romance!

Book 5 in this series and what a series this is, Micah finally gets a story and he falls fast and hard. When Scarlett needs to do a job to get money to save her father, she doesn’t realize that her Mr Dreamy is the same man she needs to steal from. One thing leads to another and you can’t fight chemistry. Add in an added bonus of money and poof, you have a marriage. You’ll have to read the book to find out what else actually happens though, enjoy. There is a lot going on within the pages of this book and it truly was hard to put down. To me, that’s a definite winner.

This was refreshing that although it was a contracted marriage mafia trope, the developing feelings of both MC didn't get prolonged or that there was a third act breakup. Scarlett was in the arts but with goals of being an actress with some success already. Micah was very much the mafia boss but he actually didn't deny his feelings for her. The plot was good but it was their relationship that really made this book worth it.

This is one of my favorite Faith Summers series, and Micah and Scarlett's story could be my favorite in the Empire of Sinners series. Scarlett's brother has mired the family in crushing debt, owed to the mob. When they come and beat her father horribly, she needs to find a way to get them off their backs and that way is offered eventually by Micah. The characters are compelling, storyline fast-paced. Full of sizzle, steam, action, drama, and so much more, this is absolutely 5 star read for me.

This is Book 5 in the Empire of Sinners Series by this author, and can be read as a standalone. It is a dark mafia romance between Micah and Scarlett. These flawed but likeable souls and the unique plot make for an entertaining read. What starts out as a one night stand turns into something more. It is a love story with drama and steam, danger and suspense, intrigue and violence, sexual tension and chemistry, and an interesting cast of secondary characters. An engaging page turner.

If you like your romances deliciously dark with a ruthless mob boss, you will love Heartless Sinner. What happens when your oh so hot one night stand turns out to be the man you need to steal from to protect your father from your crazy ex? What happens is the mob boss decides to keep you for himself, and now the fireworks start! I loved every page of guilt, betrayals, danger and all consuming passion. This will suck you in and keep you in its grip until the last page! I received this ARC from Bad Boy Updates.

it's no secret that Faith's books are instant reading for me, and this book is no exception. I really liked the fact that the two MCs are together since the beginning of the book and we discover them in different stages of their relationship. I also liked the fact that the two are over 30 years old and have the experience of failed relationships. the story loses a star only because the ending is too abrupt. I expected Anton to cause more damage

Micah was the top Italian mafia boss and ruthless, but what happens when he finds Scarlet stealing from him is not what anyone expected. This was a fast paced story with plenty of danger, drama, angst and twists. Faith Summer is an amazing author and she has another winner. Scarlet’s father is in debt to Scarlet’s evil ex and this puts her life in danger. A page turner that you don’t want to miss. I read an arc copy via Bad Boy Updates and I am voluntarily leaving a review for this book.

This is a new to me author and when I started to read I wasn’t sure but I soon became invested in Scarlett and Micah’s story. Scarlett has been through so much and she deserves someone to take care of her. Micah has been ordered to marry and he meets Scarlett at the right time if not the right circumstances. A true love story full of danger and suspense with a happy ending and now I can’t wait for Brahm’s Story.

Ms.Gray/Summers does not disappoint

This has been one of my favorite of the author’s series. The characters are always well developed and the writing well edited. The storylines are well drawn out and acceptable for the author’s developed world. While this may read as a boring review, it is totally not what I would write about some of the other writings in this sub-genre of mafia romance. The author is head and shoulders above many others in the same area.

Vault Job Love

Scarlett discovers that her brother has brought trouble to their family, and the only way out is to steal from Micah Delarosa. He is not one to be trifled with, but the moment he sees Scarlett, he's got to have her. Their story was intense, exciting, and suspenseful. I really enjoyed this story and couldn't get enough. I look forward to the next one.
