You’ll need a microscope to find the plot, but who cares because this was pure fun. 1000/10 audio experience with duet narration. If I hadn’t done the audio my review might be different.
He’s fated to her sister but completely obsessed with her. We’re talking watching her while she sleeps obsessed. It’s a romance in a fantasy setting with questionable world building, but if you want a spicy book with a man who is truly down bad, this is such a fun ride.

I loooved Roman and his crazy antics, 😍 but I'm still not sure how I feel about Violet. 🤷♀️
Despite the OM/OW drama and Roman's initial fated relationship with Violet's twin sister, it was overall SAFE.
There's just really something about a guy who's sooo down bad and ready to do anything to prove his faithfulness to his woman. Someone who wouldn't hesitate to make things happen without a second thought, even if his methods are freaking unhinged. 😂 Roman's definitely more off the rails than Rennick (book 1's H). 🤣
Anyhoo, I still enjoyed it, but I think I liked the first one better.
Will write a better review after the book is released so as not to give anything away. If there's one thing you should know about me, it's that I can't for the life of me write a spoiler-free review, so this'll have to do for the meantime. 😅

The plot is okay-ish. I mean, ngl, it didn't hold much of my interest, sorry. I think it was way too long for something that's not even complicated. While the author said the story focuses mainly on the romance, I honestly didn't see the MCs interact with each other romantically for the most part. I think the romance aspect only appeared in the last 30%-ish??
Sure, it was cute to see them become childhood friends with mutual crushes on each other, but when the day he finally found out who his fated mate was, this puppy love/infatuation they had going on stopped eventually. Violet didn't want to hurt her sister, and she accepted the fact that the gods made this bond, so there's not much she can do about it.
The first half of this book was all about them being friends. There's not much to it aside from the fact that Vi's sister ran away to be with her secret lover. You'd think in the second they would pick up eventually, but nope, they still are friends because they're waiting for Roman's 25th birthday to know his new mate.
Idk, how to put into words how I felt about this book, tbh. I probably expected more romance but wasn't satisfied with what I got. This slow burn wasn't doing it for me, and I think so much time has been wasted because Violet didn't want to risk her heart on the line.
It wasn't unrequited love for the most part, she did love him at one point. But it seemed like only Roman had tried to be with Violet. I mean, the guy did lots of morally questionable stuff just to be with her, and yet, she still wasn't sure how he felt about her. What more does he have to do to prove his undying love?
She even realized at one point that their relationship was one-sided after all these years, so she promised to do better for him. Idk, but this realization made me feel sad for Roman. While I do love an obsessed man, I want the same dedication from his woman.
Tbf, I understood why Violet moved on from him, but it doesn't mean I have to be fully accepting of it. And if you ask me, what do you want her to do? Should she pine for a man who's meant for someone else? Well, I'd probably say to believe Roman when he told her he loved her and maybe help him find ways to break the bond. They confessed to loving each other anyway, and they still have years before his upcoming wedding. Who knows? Maybe they'd find some sort of miracle. But then again, I know this is not the plot, so I'm going to shut up now. 🫠
Anyway, she lived her life after she friend-zoned him, but Roman held on and tried to find ways to make it work between them. So when they eventually ended up together, I wasn't interested anymore. It was torture to see him put in so much effort for her while she was oblivious to them (not her fault) and was okay to just being friends with him.
While I feel sad that this comes across as unrequited love at some point, I still enjoyed the fact that Roman was devoted and relentless in finding ways to make Violet his. Even though some of his actions were questionable at best, they made me like him even more. What does that say about me?? 🙃
Anyway, he's the only bright spot in this book (for me), and his ridiculousness made this story more entertaining. As for Violet, I didn't end up liking her, not even until the end. I think she was lucky to finally have him, but honestly, I feel like Roman can do so much better, just saying. 🤷♀️

Rennick was amazing, but I think Roman may have beat him😍
Roman is the definition of a man written by a woman. Even as a child, he knew Violet would be his one day and he did everything in his power to make that happy. He was obsessed with her, and I was obsessed with this book😂
Compared to the first book, this book was much longer (446 kindle pages I believe) which gave us more time to understand and love all of the characters. Don’t get me wrong, I loved the first book, but I thoroughly enjoyed this longer book since I was able to know and connect with the characters so much more!
Roman and Violet first meet as kids and immediately feel a sense of friendship and attachment towards one another. We are able to see their relationship progress over the span of a decade and how even though they were faced with many challenges, they made it out together in the end.
Violet’s insecurity involving her sister and how she always seemed to be second best was really sad to read about. It didn’t help that the person she loves (Roman) is supposed to be Vivian’s mate, not Violet’s. (Don’t worry nothing romantic happens between Roman and Vivian) Even though Violet struggles with these insecurities, Roman is always there to assure her that she is always first to him. Roman loved Violet with his ENTIRE mind, body, and soul.
No matter the circumstances, Roman never left Violet’s side. Maybe Violet wasn’t aware that Roman was always with her every night, but he was. Roman will stop at nothing to protected the woman he loves, even if he is fated to be with another. Every single thing he does is out of love for Violet. This man is DOWN BAD for her!!! He is unhinged, a slight stalker *insert the clip of Edward watching Bella sleep from the Twilight movies here*, and obsessed, but he is a lover boy at his core. (He just shows it in a morally grey way of course😏)
I don’t want to write a whole list of the things Roman did that were swoon-worthy because you truly need to read and swoon over his actions with me. I will say: some branding, bite marks, tattoos, and offing💀 those who cause Violet harm or emotional damage, may be involved😉
I can’t end this review without mentioning the side characters, especially War. That tigon familiar stole my freaking heart!! He was by Violet’s side whenever Roman wasn’t and took care of her like he was her familiar, instead of being Roman’s familiar. War had some hilarious scenes which I loved but also heartfelt and cute scenes throughout the book that further solidified my love for him. Jamie does such an amazing job at writing side characters, which makes me love her stories and writing even more.
I went through so many emotions while reading. Happiness, frustration, sadness, anger, relief, humor, ect.. This book brought ALL of the emotions🤧🥹 Before I start safety info, I want to add a few quotes that I highlighted:
“He was hers completely and irrevocably, and he would do whatever it took to make her his, too.”

“He didn’t know how long he sat there, watching her sleep, but eventually his lids grew heavy. If he fell asleep, he didn’t think his glamour would hold to conceal him. Then he left, vowing to never return. Except he did return. Every night.”

• In current-ish time, Violet is dating OM and only kisses him. She is in “love” with him but doesn’t love him like she loved Roman. On page light kissing between the two but nothing progresses. This relationship does not last long on page but they have been dating for 1 year.
OW info-
• Roman is fated mates with Vivian (Violet’s twin) but does NOT have ANY romantic feelings towards her. He does not like her as a person either. Vivian forcefully kissed Roman to make (her sister or her secret boyfriend) jealous when they were young. Both were repulsed by this. This was Roman’s “first kiss” if you want to count it as such. All of Roman’s first were with Violet. Violet saw this kiss and it made her jealous but Roman explains.
• Roman has a female guard that follows Violet to watch her when he can’t. This guard has fallen for Roman and tries to touch him (out of comfort or to be near him) but Roman feels nothing for her and always pulls away. It makes Violet jealous so he does set the record straight and deal with this OW.
Other info-
• Violet and Roman go to pleasure houses (on page) to watch the performers do smexual acts. Violet enjoys this but Roman ONLY cares about Violet and does not watch/ find pleasure in watching the performers.

Roman's obsession is stronger than the underwire on most bras... and those are made of metal 🤷♀️.
If only all men were as obsessed as Roman is 🥹because this man will do anything for his woman.
If you thought Rennick from book 1 was obsessed, you need to meet Roman 👀😮💨

This is similar to book 1 in that we meet them when they're young, but it's also different... like VERY different 😅.
Violet and Roman/Rome (10-25 years old) meet and there's an instant connection. They become close friends and she's able to make him feel like a normal person, not as the Prince from the Tropical Fae Kingdom like everyone else. They bond and quickly realize they like each other (when they're 12). But then, on his 13th birthday, he gets whispered the name of his fated mate...
And it's not Violet ☹️
His mate's her twin sister Vivian 😒😐
Both are heartbroken, but the Gods have spoken... what can be done?
While Violet gives up hope (since her sister and her parents are ecstatic 😑). Roman makes it his mission to find a solution 👏

—how obsessed Roman is 👀. He eats (🔥), breathes, drinks (yes. DRINKS 🥵💦) Violet 😅. If he could crawl in her skin, he would 🤷♀️. Not once did i doubt his OBSESSION (in all caps 🫠) even when it “seems” like something’s up (darn ow 😑)
—he stalks her 🥹. I mean. How cute is it that he watches her while she sleeps 🫶🥹 all while he glamours himself so she doesn’t get startled if she happens to see him when she wakes up😭. He’s just sooooo considerate ❤️😭
—the 🔥. For a v, Roman doesn’t come to play 😅 he comes (PUN VERY MUCH INTENDED 😉) ready to give Violet ALLLLLLL the pleasure possible 🫠 and pleasure her he does 🥵
—their first real kiss happens at almost 60% followed by some 🔥 times, including him 💦 with what he does to her 😅🫣 and before 70% they FINALLY go all the way 😮💨🔥 over a decade in the making 🫠 and Roman makes up for lost time 👏. This man is INSATIABLE 🥵
—christening the royal crown seats 😅. Roman is all about ensuring those seats are saturated 😅

In today's modern romance era where I struggle to find a good BBF, where cheating and manwhoring MMCs are so prevalent, it literally pains me to rate a book with a (almost) perfect MMC so low but this was just so freaking irritating and made me dislike book 1 😭

1)I did not think I'd be getting yet ANOTHER book in this series where the couple spends so many years apart 🙄😒!!!!! Roman and Violet started off as best friends and fell in love, but her twin is named as his mate, they even confess their love for each other yet it takes over a DECADE for him to figure out a way for them to be together. Mind you they live in the same kingdom. Violet thinks they can't be together so she loses her virginity to a guy who turns out to be an asshole, stays single for a while then eventually FALLS IN LOVE with another man while Roman is there loving her desperately and stupidly trying to think of a way for them to be together. They spent years apart and it was resolved so easily!!!!!!!!!! Years while he was just there obsessing over her! Then......I kid you not.......then Vivian is finally out of the picture right...... I'm thinking they'll finally get together.....NOPE Violets stupid ass decides to go away for a year!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Where they write letters to each other etc but hey at least she didn't fuck anybody else during that year so yay for that 🤨
2)They stayed apart for I think 12 years in total, they were finally able to be together because Roman slyly convinced Vivian to be with her lover......the same lover that bitch had years ago!!!!!!!! You're telling me he's been obsessed with Violet for years but couldn't be together and after 12 years of thinking this was the solution??????? Vivian had that same lover since her teens...... didn't he think of convincing her to break their bond by marrying the om since then??? 12 years and this was it??? FFS
3)This book was so similar to book 1 it pmo so bad I went and lowered my rating for book 1😂. Like seriously WHAT WAS the reason?!?!?! In book 1 I kinda understood why the h was with om considering her and the H were from different kingdoms and he couldn't leave until her got to the right age but these two were in the same damn kingdom from the beginning so there was no reason for this long drawn out snooze fest while I waited for somebody to buy a clue and figure out how they could be together!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
4) this was boring and stupid and unnecessary and if this is the author's pattern for all the books of the series I'll have to tap out at this one.
5)I actually didn't like Violet much at all.
6)Roman would've been defying the gods and traditions to be with Violet, it's made out to be a really big deal, heck it was the reason they couldn't be together even though they were in love......yet he eventually confessed to his parents and they were on board immediately? So everything that came before was just unnecessary drama? Because even Roman and Violet fell into a relationship like no fine had passed between them! Heck the staff were calling her your grace within the blink of an eye 🙄
7) Ow drama just like book 1🙄 the H has a friend who's in love with him but he's too clueless and naive to notice😑🥱she of course causes drama and tries to come between them.

Ok guys! This is gonna be a long review with spoilers. So get ready.
Ok first 40 % not great
Last 60% AMAZING!!!!
So while I loved this book in the end… my rant below won’t reflect that as much 😅
🥰So I ended up loving it but it felt like 2 different books for me. And the good out weight the bad for sure but it was touch and go there for a while.
😅I have a lot to say lol cause I had such high expectations for this book. AND IT DID fulfill that expectation… FOR SURE.
BUT….EVENTUALLY…..
🥱Damn that first 40% was rough for me. Like really dragging and rough. It was cute and sweet to the H and h bond and become besties and stuff but did we really need to see EACH YEAR FROM 12-25yrs old?
This bit took up 40% of the beginning and it definitely NEEDED to be condensed to 15-20%.
Yeah it’s cute to see to kids bond but it’s also not romantic and well… not that fun to read. I’m not gonna connect to a 12-17yr old like I would 18-25yr old.
There had to be a way to give us that connection and bond without it dragging and taking such a chunk of the book!
I EVEN CONSIDERED DNF… like I would never want to do that based on the first book.
I think another issue for me was since they were young there was a real Lack of OTT JP UNHINGED scenes. Like I wanted him to step up WAY earlier and decide to break the bond I mean it took forever.
‼️I mean there is nothing more frustrating then reading a H who’s hands are tied for a HUGE chuck of the book BUT ALSO who didn’t even make the choice for quite a while to do something about being mated to the h sister. Like it always took something massive to happen to kick start his ass.
⌛️So I wrote out a timeline as I was reading cause the progression was just to slow for the kind of H I want to read in this series. And yeah it has a lot to do with the fact that they are kids… but like… that’s my point. No one wants to read this much young kids crap. Keep in mind all these scenes are long and detailed…
12yrs old they meet and bond and become BFF
13 yrs old he gets the name of his mate (h twin sister) he isn’t happy but what’s he to do. Acceptance 🙄
14 yrs old more fun times more friendship scenes and bonding.
15 yrs old more friendship more bonding. H gets his familiar. And the H realizes he wishes the h was his mate and he does question his familiar about if a bond has even been transferred but the familiar says no and don’t mess with it to he doesn’t.
16 yrs old he deciceds to find a way to break the bond. He starts research. At this point they both are in love w each other. This is when he starts to get determined to figure out how to change the bond. Cause the sister kisses him and it hurts the h when she sees. The h also decides she has to end their friendship to save her heart and be happy for her sister and him.
So this is at 25% before decided to break any rule to marry her and have her at any cost.
‼️Now mind you, we havnt actually seen him DO ANYTHING. We hear that he is researching and he is Stalking her but what else is he doing to figure this out? The clock is ticking‼️
17-18 yrs old lots of staking on his part. They are not friends anymore and havnt talked in years! The h has moved on has new friends and school and is dating. The H is staking and obsessed but still no progress in the research area. Meanwhile he has to be closer to the h sister (his mate) to prove to everyone else that he is w her and he keeps his feelings and action for the h a secret.
-At 18 he can no longer threaten men against dating her either cause it’s officially announced who is mate is.
19 yrs olds the h has lost her V card and is sleeping w her boyfriend (2X) so the H FINALLY FINALLY decides he will defy the Gods If he has to…..I mean really! Now at 19!! Oh and he was able to push the wedding back 1 year.

21 yrs old and 38% before he decided he would kill 🔪🩸ViV (the mate) if it was the only way to be w the h. He also will kill the h boyfriend. He makes sure they are not fucking but she falls in love w OM… so like that’s not ok either.
Now they decide to become friends again since she is in love w her BF and he is in “love” with the sister… he isn’t but he is playing the game… so 5 years before they are finally in each others lives again… fucking BS man BS to read. I do NOT like reading about my h and H w OP. Not in love for sure and not for 40% of the book! THIS IS A ROMANCE! For fucks sake I want to only read about the h and H w each other not others.

So while I loved this book in the end… my rant below won’t reflect that as much 😅
🥰So I ended up loving it but it felt like 2 different books for me. And the good out weight the bad for sure but it was touch and go there for a while.
😅I have a lot to say lol cause I had such high expectations for this book. AND IT DID fulfill that expectation… FOR SURE.
BUT….EVENTUALLY…..
🥱Damn that first 40% was rough for me. Like really dragging and rough. It was cute and sweet to the H and h bond and become besties and stuff but did we really need to see EACH YEAR FROM 12-25yrs old?
This bit took up 40% of the beginning and it definitely NEEDED to be condensed to 15-20%.
Yeah it’s cute to see to kids bond but it’s also not romantic and well… not that fun to read. I’m not gonna connect to a 12-17yr old like I would 18-25yr old.
There had to be a way to give us that connection and bond without it dragging and taking such a chunk of the book!
I EVEN CONSIDERED DNF… like I would never want to do that based on the first book.
I think another issue for me was since they were young there was a real Lack of OTT JP UNHINGED scenes. Like I wanted him to step up WAY earlier and decide to break the bond I mean it took forever.
‼️I mean there is nothing more frustrating then reading a H who’s hands are tied for a HUGE chuck of the book BUT ALSO who didn’t even make the choice for quite a while to do something about being mated to the h sister. Like it always took something massive to happen to kick start his ass.
⌛️So I wrote out a timeline as I was reading cause the progression was just to slow for the kind of H I want to read in this series. And yeah it has a lot to do with the fact that they are kids… but like… that’s my point. No one wants to read this much young kids crap. Keep in mind all these scenes are long and detailed…
12yrs old they meet and bond and become BFF
13 yrs old he gets the name of his mate (h twin sister) he isn’t happy but what’s he to do. Acceptance 🙄
14 yrs old more fun times more friendship scenes and bonding.
15 yrs old more friendship more bonding. H gets his familiar. And the H realizes he wishes the h was his mate and he does question his familiar about if a bond has even been transferred but the familiar says no and don’t mess with it to he doesn’t.
16 yrs old he deciceds to find a way to break the bond. He starts research. At this point they both are in love w each other. This is when he starts to get determined to figure out how to change the bond. Cause the sister kisses him and it hurts the h when she sees. The h also decides she has to end their friendship to save her heart and be happy for her sister and him.
So this is at 25% before decided to break any rule to marry her and have her at any cost.
‼️Now mind you, we havnt actually seen him DO ANYTHING. We hear that he is researching and he is Stalking her but what else is he doing to figure this out? The clock is ticking‼️
17-18 yrs old lots of staking on his part. They are not friends anymore and havnt talked in years! The h has moved on has new friends and school and is dating. The H is staking and obsessed but still no progress in the research area. Meanwhile he has to be closer to the h sister (his mate) to prove to everyone else that he is w her and he keeps his feelings and action for the h a secret.
-At 18 he can no longer threaten men against dating her either cause it’s officially announced who is mate is.
19 yrs olds the h has lost her V card and is sleeping w her boyfriend (2X) so the H FINALLY FINALLY decides he will defy the Gods If he has to…..I mean really! Now at 19!! Oh and he was able to push the wedding back 1 year.
”Roman would kill someone before he’d allow them to touch what was his. Because she was his, and he was hers. He’d never touched another woman, and he never would.”
🤬I mean ok… but it’s been 3 years since you talked to her and she thinks you LOVE her sister. What did you think would happen? You let this happen. SO FRUSTRATING! No fun to read man not fun.
20 yrs old is more of the h moving on and living her best life. While we are told the H is stalking and obsessed but with no real action. The h meets a new guy and starts dating another boy🙄 so not fun to read.
21 yrs old and 38% before he decided he would kill 🔪🩸ViV (the mate) if it was the only way to be w the h. He also will kill the h boyfriend. He makes sure they are not fucking but she falls in love w OM… so like that’s not ok either.
Now they decide to become friends again since she is in love w her BF and he is in “love” with the sister… he isn’t but he is playing the game… so 5 years before they are finally in each others lives again… fucking BS man BS to read. I do NOT like reading about my h and H w OP. Not in love for sure and not for 40% of the book! THIS IS A ROMANCE! For fucks sake I want to only read about the h and H w each other not others.
‼️They go to sex house to watch . Him so he can learn and be good for her. She cause she loves to watch. This becomes a regular thing for them.
22 yrs old before he devises an ACTUAL PLAN to get Viv (the mate) to fall for OM and run away.

‼️He comes up w a plan when it’s down to the wire and I’m sorry but it’s not ingenious he should have thought about this years before and saved them all a lot of heartache.
23yrs old and 40% he FINALLY tells his parents he won’t marry her and that’s that. But like way to wait till THE end when SO MUCH damage is caused
24 yrs old and 52%before he tells her how he really felt the whole time! Gah why oh why oh why. It just dragged. But now the real book begins….

Vivian, Violet, Victoria… like why give a side character another V name?
-Maybe if we saw more of what he was actually doing to fix the mate bond it would have read better but it’s all him complaining and little mentions of research but it was soooooo disappointing and tiring. There wasn’t any real progress and we are told things not shown them.

I dont blame her for being with OM cause what is she suppose to do? As far as she knows he is really with her sister and she has no choice but to move on. It’s an impossible situation. This is pure unhinged and vicious fluff, and I ADORE it! The MMC is very much an "I'll kill anyone or anything that looks weird at my woman" and goes through with it. It was delicious to read about! I will eat up any and every book in this series. It's fantastic and works as a great palate cleanser in between plot heavy fantasy books ♡

I absolutely loved viciously yours so when I saw that there was another book coming out in the same world I was ecstatic. The MMC’s in these books are more than a little unhinged and I’m currently living for it!
Roman is the crowned prince who is told the name of his fated mate by the gods on his 13th birthday. The problem is the gods must have made a mistake because they say Vivian who is the identical twin sister to Violet, the girl Roman loves. As time goes on he realizes that he really can’t stand Vivian but his friendship with Violet grows.
Roman is an unhinged stalker that will do anything for Violet but there is something so compelling in these super morally dark characters who go completely feral for the women they love.
Just a note there is no relationship between the MMC and FMC’s sister.

Obsessively dumb.
The first part of the book was good and had a promising plot and enjoyable. Very sweet and I loved the characters. Then we got to what seemed like chapters 300 of them punishing people and doing the dumbest stuff. I sincerely hate when authors waste time, like nobody is stopping you from writing a good short book, you had something going there for you. This was a complete waste of time towards the end. The book had so much potential and maybe one of the more original plots I’ve seen in a while with a character that wasn’t trying to be a “hard-4$$” but it seemed like it was completely demolished by the unnecessary amounts of smut scenes and chapters devoted to them professing their love to each other towards the end while we were waiting for the bigger conflict in the story to go down and it did it was very underwhelming. I like SMUT but it seemed like you went out of your way to continue the story just to write more SMUT scenes. It was cute the first 3 times and now I’m wondering if the author lost some momentum and just decided to insert some BS to fluff the book up. Another thing that drove me crazy was that I could not follow along to safe my life. I didn’t even really know the names of half the people or what they were doing until toward the end of the book because she would introduce characters and half heartedly describe who they were and where they were located. You could’ve done sooo much more with the plot you had and the characters you wrote and then the quality of the writing declined and it truly felt like you lost your passion and drive. You had a good chance to have us on the edge of our seats with the rebels and the relationship between the twins. But instead you made a tyrant king who in reality would never be loved and a doormat FMC who you repeatedly reiterate “she’s kind and has a good heart” but baby nobody believes that in what world are we eating the bs you’re feeding us. Trust I’ve read some FD UP books so i can’t even say this is not my cup of tea I’m just overwhelmingly disappointed with how the direction of the book went. I’m also really concerned for the readers of America if this book has 4.23 stars. It felt very lazy.

★★★★★. Thank you so so much to the author, Jamie Applegate Hunter for this ARC! Please be aware this review will have some spoilers, but not many! My safety part of the review probably has the most spoilers.
The cover and fanart just by itself I knew this book was going to be 5 stars and oh my it was 5 stars PLUS! The banter, the angst, THE LONGING, THE YEARNING, THE OBSESSIVE MAN WHO WAS ONLY ABOUT ONE WOMAN. If there is one thing Jamie can write, it’s a possessive, obsessive man THE RIGHT WAY!
Roman, UGH ROMAN. I didn’t think Rennick could be beat but yet Roman topped him and continued to top him all the way until the epilogue. This man quite literally breathed for Violet. He saw her and fell hard and fast. He fell for everything about her and branded himself on her. His whole being became about Violet. His backstory was sad, but I am glad his parents were so supportive of him. My heart actually broke reading his point of view of the mating night and how he was so devastated for not only himself yet for his woman. And yet this man went above and beyond to get her and was not letting anyone stand in his way.
Violet, my precious girl. I loved her so much. Her backstory broke me and her insecurities were so real. Her constantly comparing herself to her twin, Vivian and thinking nobody wanted her but wanted Vivian broke me. I loved reading her confidence grow by herself and not dependent on a man. She learned to love herself for herself and became stronger. Her point of view of the mating night actually hurt so much more. I loved how she put her foot down and moved on. Her relationships with everyone in the book was so innocent and just beautiful.
For my safety people, Roman is mated to the twin Vivian. He has NO FEELINGS for her whatsoever. He remains a virgin for Violet. There is one kiss with Vivian but he pushed away the minute it happened. Violet is not a virgin. I loved this because it showed she wasn’t waiting around for him. There is a sex club they go too, Violet gets intrigued by watching and Roman watches Violet. This is completely safe with the perfect amount of angst and other woman drama (sister and a guard) needed.
“He didn’t know how long he sat there, watching her sleep, but eventually his lids grew heavy. If he fell asleep, he didn’t think his glamour would hold to conceal him.
Then he left, vowing to never return.

Consider me OBSESSED!
Obsessively Yours had an entirely different formula than Viciously Yours, and I loved it for it. It was deeper, more sentimental, and by far more angsty. Roman and Violet's story was so bittersweet and complex, which took me by surprise as I was expecting a more lighthearted story. Not only was it one of my favorite tropes, "childhood friends to lovers," but it also made the love story more convincing and realistic, and the expanse of their love gave it time to flourish. Initially, it was more difficult to read as Violet's situation was quite sad, especially regarding her relationship with her sister Vivian. But regardless, the end provided a lot of fluff to redeem it, which is also the reason why I also adored the fact that it was so big. Also, the whole story was fuller and unpredictable, filled with different characters, storylines, and world-building.
P.S. HOT DAMNNNN WAS THE SEXY SCENES SPICY AF...JAMIE GIRL PLEASE HAVE MERCY.

The storyline, characters and chemistry were perfection!
I stayed up entirely too late the two nights I read this. It was so unputdownable!

Roman is the prince who is told by the gods on his 13th birthday. Violet bring his best friend prayed it would be her name announce. It was instead her twin sister much to Roman and Violets disappointment.
Roman is the most over the top possessive MMC and I ate it up. The lengths he would go to to keep her safe and to keep men away from her was amazing.
Jamie Applegate Hunter writes funny banter right up there with Meghan Quinn. So much of the dialogue cracked me up. The spicy scenes almost caught the pages on fire!
I ate this book up and was so sad when it ended. This series is perfection!

Roman is batshit obsessed with Violet—in the best, most intense way. He’s unhinged, possessive, and somehow still incredibly sweet and attentive to her needs. Their connection since childhood? Whew. I was hooked.
The twin dynamic between Violet and Vivian broke me. When Vivian said, “I don’t like you, but I love you”—I straight up cried. The emotional chaos is real, and I was here for it.
Rennick from book one still has my heart (sorry Roman), but this was a wild, spicy, deeply emotional ride. The dual POV worked beautifully, giving us insight into Roman’s obsession and Violet’s heartbreak. It’s chaotic in the best way, with dark romance vibes, heavy moments, and seriously intense spice.
Would I recommend it? Yes, but definitely check the TWs. This one isn’t light. But if you’re into obsessive love, found family, twin drama, and morally black heroes—this will grab you by the throat.

I’m obsessed. This was amazing. The VIBE.
The synopsis of this might throw some people off at first, but please guys don’t worry about it. There is NO sister double dipping (let’s be real that’s not even an option here) and the MMC does not ever look in any other direction. This book is called ”Obsessively” yours for a reason lol he’s OBSESSED. This was AWESOME.
I enjoyed all the characters. The main characters were incredible and well developed. I’m in love with Roman and Violet. I also absolutely hate Vivian (just shows how well written she is). All the side characters were awesome as well. (I LOOOOVE Slayton)
The romance in this was AMAZING. The pacing was perfect. I loved everything. The switch between POV’s as well as the respective amount of chapters they each had was perfect. There was never any time to doubt or anything like that because I was always able to read from the right person’s POV. I loved reading about them as children. I loved reading about them as teenagers. I loved reading about them as they grew up. The development of both their relationship was incredibly well written and thought out. It came slowly but not too slowly but at the same time great with the age. They had bumps in the road and Violet is just an amazing person (that wouldn’t be me) Everything was so on (in?) character as well. It was amazing.
And there is no way I can make a review about this book without mentioning the Queen (Roman’s mother). WHAT AN ICON. She walked her husband like a dog and OWNED everything she did. She’s amazing. Please I’m begging for a book or even a novella about Roman’s parents.

This book took me foooooorrrrrreeeeeevvvveeerrrrr to finish because I got a new puppy and he’s like a baby omgahhhhh😂😂🐶 but also,this book kinda dragged for me and was a bit more convoluted than it should have been.
Violet and her twin Vivian are born on the same day as Roman so they have a chance to be a fated mate to the future king. I loved how Roman and violet first met and how their friendship turned into love ❤️ but Vivian was the name that the gods chose to be Roman’s fated mate and violet steps aside to make sure her heart can’t be broken. Vivian meets other men and loses her V to a guy named Dominic. Dominic makes a statement to a group of people in public that he effed violet and also wished he effed the twin sister Vivian and Roman goes nuts on him. Violet thinks it’s because Roman was defending Vivian nd not her 🫤🫤🤦♀️🤦♀️ violet also meets another man Titus and never sleeps with him but she falls in love with him also. He is a part of the rebels who are against the royal rule and was told to seduce Vivian to break the bond (I’m pretty sure?) but he falls in love with violet as well when they start dating. Titus marries Vivian and breaks the fated mates bond so Roman becomes free to marry violet, which they do.
She leaves for a YEAR to the other kingdoms to learn about sewing and clothes 😳😳 so Marissa, Titus’s sister, tries to seduce Roman and get in between Violet and Roman. Roman was a clueless fuck. But he’s also a V so it’s not like he looked elsewhere
Roman likes doing puzzles similar to Rubik’s cubes 😂😂🥴🥴🤪🤪
Anybody who wrongs violet, Roman basically fucks them up. Violet was kind of a bland character to me 🥴🥴 this book dragged a bit for me but I finished 🤷♀️

Okay Jamie I was not familiar with your game! This was delicious from front to back, Roman and Violet were the perfect friends to lovers trope, and the slow burn was so frustrating but sooooo good. Roman is obsessive and a loverboy to his core and Violet knows her worth and is also lowkey a little crazy. Roman is literally the embodiment of “touch her and die”. All in all this was such a good read.

Perfection in a book, I said what I said.
The way I was sucked in and didn't stop reading till it was 5 AM should be studied.
Let's start with my hatred for Vivian. Not even two chapters in, I already felt such hatred towards her that I couldn't contain it. She truly made Violet's life her problem. What do you mean you hate your sister because she's actually sweet and nice...while you are a mean psycho. No wonder people liked Violet more, with that attitude, you were lucky you didn't get beat up once or twice (by me, if I could, you would catch these hands Vivian!). She deserved everything she got, even if Violet was, of course, way too nice even in the end.
Now, onto my sweet baby Violet. She was the cutest kid; her interests didn't match those of her sister, but even then, she still tried for her. She was so creative with her bracelets and embroidery, starting from a young age, to know what she would do when she was older. She was so thoughtful and caring, while also knowing how to have fun, and once she opened up, she was sarcastic and a prankster. Her getting her heart broken made mine hurt; she was too selfless for her own good. There's honestly nothing I dislike about her, even her merciful streak was fine with me because if not, Roman would have killed way more people.
And Roman, the unhinged man that you are. You wanted to kill a chicken the second Violet was 'hurt' - if that doesn't scream down bad, he did a hundred other things that did (I'm trying really hard to be good and not spoil it, but he has propelled to my number one book boyfriend...overall!) He was loyal to the death, willing to fight mystical, unknown gods that could befall the whole continent for her...he's just THAT guy for real. Not content with winning over Violet's heart, he had to have mine too, greedy man, but I forgive you.
Let's not forget about his mom. The best queen I could have asked for. She was where Roman got the 'crazy' gene from. Her being like: “People disappear all the time,” validating his son murdering his competition? Gagged!“I’m so sorry. We’ll kil—” Double gagged! Her skipping over Roman and running to hug Violet had me crying laughing. She was an icon, and I pray we get more of her in the future. (Props to the king for attempting to balance her, key word attempting).
The secondary characters really stole a bit of the show. Griff, Ares, Slayton, Babs (a literal chicken), and War had me laughing, and I was so happy for everyone in the epilogue.
This love story was so well done and paced out. How it started innocently with them passing notes in class, being friends, and falling for each other, knowing it couldn't be. The angst, the pain, the following obsession because the girl he loved was not next to him. Their flowing so easily into lovers after the obstacle was 'broken' was perfect. The way he never tried to stop her from living her dream, how he supported her, and even accompanied her in any way he could. And the spice?
Chapter 31? I have no words. Only moans (JK or not). And I know Jamie said this was purely romance, but the whole plot twist on who was who and why things were going on was so unexpected and well done.
I didn’t think I could like someone more than I liked Rennick but fucking Roman had me, hook, line and sinker, and I don’t see myself getting over him…unless Jamie outdoes herself once again in the next book…
The gods were blacked out drunk or something while making their decision because in what world would Vivian and Roman fit?
Outside of the story, a technical thing I loved was 'the underarm crystal', which was such a smart adjustment for deodorant. I love it when fantasy is done right.
The little crumbs about Fawn and Dean/ Amos and Clover just made me feral for the next books. Gods, I love this series so much. Jamie, please, please, please never stop writing these unhinged, obsessed men.
Oh, and while I’m here…a small itty bitty novella about Roman’s parents, please? Pretty pretty please?

I say that so you understand going into my review - I was obsessed with this book before I even read a single page 🤭.
Roman is everything I hoped he would be AND SO MUCH MORE. Violet is perfect and so incredibly relatable.
My favorite thing about these books is how palatable the world building is, super easy to understand and allows my little adhd brain to focus on the characters and their story - which is angsty, and swoony, and of course absolutely unhinged.
In this world, royal fae hear the name of their mate on their 13th birthday. Roman and Violet had little teenage crushes and both separately hoped he would hear her name.. but unfortunately he heard her twin sisters (who by the way, is nasty trashy). However, not even the gods could stop these two from loving each other (even if from a distance) and finding their way back to each other.
Roman is everything you want in an over the top, obsessive, possessive, unhinged man.
Babs absolutely stole the show but oh man do I love War! All of the side characters, really.
My sincerest thank you to Jamie Applegate Hunter for the ARC, I cannot WAIT for the audio to come out so I can add it to the reread rotation.

GAHHH DAYUMMMMMM. I’m not sure what it really is about this series—maybe it’s because I’m obsessed with anything Fae & Fated Mates, but you’re damn straight I just downloaded book 3.
Violet & Roman were so dang cute. Their chemistry was off the charts and I absolutely adore a “friends to lovers” romantasy. I think what I also love about this series so far is the side characters—each MC have friends that truly bring the story together and add in the perfect amount of humor.
The spice so far is insane. Like I have to keep putting my kindle down and walk a few laps around my house. Don’t read this when you’re ovulating.
This series isn’t anything super serious, and honestly I love it for that. Just a damn good time with the perfect amount of plot, humor, and spice. Idc, I love it lol.

4.5⭐️ This was an interesting take on the fated mates trope. I loved Roman as an MMC. He absolutely played no games when it came to Violet. He did the sweetest things to make her feel safe and that hit me in the feels. The familiar Ward was great I really loved his banter. Great solid standalone.
