A Ghost Cat, Medium, Wolf Shifter, Witches, Curses
This cozy mystery has a lot of paranormal aspects. Poltergeists and Pastries is a quick read, a short novel. A writer comes to investigate a cold case in which three people died under mysterious circumstances. The main character is a medium with a ghost cat familiar. Some of her family are baker witches. The detective is a wolf shifter witch. The story has poltergeists and curses, too. There are sacred areas, too. And that doesn’t include all the paranormal aspects in this book, but I don’t want to give away anything.
I doubt I will remember much of this story after several months, since I didn’t find it particularly captivating, but it was a way to pass the time. I missed out on a little background since this was not the first book in the series, but I think the author filled in everything you would need to know to read this book on its own.
Amelia is once again called in to investigate a supernatural event plaguing Mystic mountain. An author is in town, Emily Cane writing about the goings on at a local bakery where years ago a lady, Margaret Murphy and her staff are all found dead. But now Emily is being haunted by spirits who want to control her for their own ends. She needs help and Amelia is just the one to give it. Can she exorcise Emily and get to the root cause if what is still running amok in the bakery? Another exciting supernatural instalment with Amelia and the Mystic mountain gang. Love this book series and alway look forward to the next one.
I am really enjoying reading along as Amelia is beginning to become more comfortable not only with her new powers and abilities, but with living in Mystic Mountain and being around all her relatives. In this story, she ends up taking on a really nasty poltergeist and helping her aunt out at the bakery, not to mention, helping a famous author as well. These stories all move along at a good clip, the characters are all engaging and I absolutely adore Charlotte! I can’t wait to see what Amelia ends up dealing with next in Mystic Mountain!
A really fun book full of magic and chaos. I enjoyed the characters, how they are supporting each other through challenges. And the storyline keeps you going through all ups and downs. So much fun to read. I received a copy of this book from the author. I am leaving a voluntary and honest review.
Mystic Mountain is turning into a very deep and detailed story of the characters and locations that are found in this town. Not your typical murder mystery however it is a lot more intense, and the characters are very well developed and the adventures continue.
Another great addition to the series. There are so many twists and turns that it made it impossible to put the book down. I had to keep reading! And the ending…whoa! Did not see it coming. I think my jaw hit the ground! I’m waiting anxiously for the next book.
