Being taken sucks! But what sucks even more was being groped on my first day at Stonehurst Academy. So, I did the only self-respecting thing any feral Omega should do. I stabbed him.
Thrown into obedience class and tortured was not my idea of fun. But I was handling it... that was until three irresistibly attractive alphas walked in and took my breath away.
The Penthouse Alphas. Draven, the psychotic leader with a death wish Cole, the dark, possessive Alpha with a magic tongue Jake, the chaotic comedian with a dirty mouth
In a world where Omegas are seen as nothing more than a possession, used to breed the next generation, my protectors will stop at nothing to free me from the clutches of the Academy, but at what cost?
Omega Amy is a dark standalone reverse harem Omegaverse set in a dystopian society structured with the alpha/beta/omega dynamic. No choosing, no cheating, and a guaranteed HEA! There are no supernatural or paranormal elements in this Omegaverse outside of alpha traits such as barks, pack structures, and enhanced physical abilities. This book is part of a series of standalones, and can be enjoyed on its own, without reading any other books in the series. Content warnings are available inside the front cover of the book.
I read an ARC copy of this book and thoroughly enjoyed it. Amy’s negative relationship with her Omega side is apparent right from the side, as is the dystopian society, which reminded me of Handmaids Tale, where those that can birth children are forced into packs. When Amy finds her pack, she takes a while accepting what it means for her. But they wait, patiently, and they stay in the background protecting her against the likes of the Omega Taskforces son Andrew, who is determined to destroy Amy and make her his own. Through their escape attempts and torture scenes and you’ve got one action packed ride!
This lacked a lot of structure, needs editing badly and could have more than half of the exclamation marks removed.
I liked the premise of the plot but it all fell very short and was honestly a complete mess. The lack of trigger warnings was also a little shocking for the heavy things that occur in this book.
Who doesn’t love a possessive, touch her and die alpha or alphas? And to top it off a bad ass Omega?! Reminded me of hand maids tale but more kick ass and sped up. Looking forward to Reading Omega Scarlett and hope she’s as bad ass as Amy!!
For some reason my review did not put stars on it lmao 🤣 it was a five from me I look forward to learning more about this universe and this was an epic beginning
Loved Amy shes strong never gives up on future plans, her men are amazing and care for her a lot..
The thing I wish was better was more time with her men we didn’t really get to know any of them, to many questions that never got answered, also it got very confusing in some parts at the middle and close to the end of the book.
Overall, 3 to 4 stars I thought this book was a little dark but mainly fluff.
Started a little rough but then dove deep into a whole other world where people are caged for not conforming. Such an amazing dystopian-type romance. Very entertaining to read.
This was a really good read. Amy is an Omega who refuses to conform to society. Who can blame her when Omegas are treated like possessions and only for breeding the next generation? Unlike most OVs this one doesn't revolve around her heats, there is still some spicy scenes. But her revolt against the Omega Taskforce is the main focus.
DNFing at Chapter 5 with a rating because life is too short to give books this bad another chance.
Look. I'm aware this is this author's first book, but not editing the fucking thing is going to make a bad first impression. This book is poorly written, breaks POV-Amy cannot see the fire burning in her own eyes in first person-and breaks tense. The author also repeatedly struggles to keep one person's actions with their own dialogue to the point where it gets confusing to read. You don't write Amy smirking in the middle of Janine's dialogue. Children are taught this.
The worldbuilding is nonsensical. Omegas are so precious there are saunas and massage parlors at their dystopian academy, but they wear shock collars? But the cafeteria in which they eat has mold in it while the rest of the academy is shiny and nice? Amy also, for some reason, believes the Birthing Grounds are a rumor and is shocked they exist... Two separate times because two separate characters tell her this as if it's new information both times.
Amy is also just clearly written by an author who has no idea what makes a badass female character. She essentially dances around a squad of trained soldiers but makes no real attempt to escape, is easily subdued once caught, and just starts running her mouth to people immediately like a C-movie action hero despite the fact none of her quips are interesting or funny. Her internal monologue is super repetitive and not at all interesting. We get it. You're a raging inferno or whatever. Guess we can't use that page space to think up a plan.
Also describing an unpleasant alpha as "stocky" and making a comment about a woman having "too many cake crumbs on her ample breasts." We get it. Jesus fucking Christ, you'd think this was written by a 13 year old on Wattpad.
Such a disappointment. I gave it four chapters. I'm unwilling to give it any more.
NO TW/CW PAGE EXISTED FOR THIS BOOK AS OF 02/28/2025. TW: Rape, abuse, attempted rape, forced breeding/heat
As soon as I read that the FMC was raped by one of the side characters and NO warning was given, the book deserved it's one star review.
This book had promise, but failed in its execution. It felt like the author wanted to write about a dystopian world, but didn't put any thought into the people besides borrowing cliches from other series.
PSA to the author: Terms of endearment are not capitalized unless their placement in a sentence warrants it. Correct: "Here, drink this sweetheart." Not correct: "Here, drink this Sweetheart." This author, alongside other KU authors refuse to pay for a proper editor are very confused on this very simple rule. If the author cannot afford a good editor, Google exists.
The author has a very toxic relationship with ellipses. Someone should tell the author that it's okay to use correct punctuation for a sentence.
Here are the REALLY dumb nicknames used: sweet girl (which appears as Sweet girl, sweet girl, Sweet Girl), good girl, baby (which appears as Baby), beautiful, honey and Cherry Red. Why are RH authors so unable to use a characters name? Why do they insist on not following the standard editing policies?
I absolutely loved this book! I won’t add any spoilers in the review, but my first thoughts were that the FMC was hard-edged, strong and kept her wits about her. She is clearly trying to fight back against the Taskforce, until they take her. At the academy she has to learn a new way of surviving. And with everything that happens to her, she continues to fight and never gives up. Her alphas are hot, protective and stand by her. I love that! Overall if I could give it more than five stars, I would!
Amy is an omega in hiding and unfortunately, gets caught and sent to Stonehurst Academy - where Omegas are treated horribly and expected to bow down to alphas. However Amy is a stubborn one! And OF COURSE it turns out the Penthouse Alphas are her scent matches!
I gave this 3 stars because I liked it - just didn't LOVE it. I know there's a second book that revolves around another omega that was mentioned in this book and eh...not sure if I'll pick it up or not. Please check your triggers on this one as there is SA (not within the pack).
So this started off good for me but I got bored. I didn't like how some things were explained in details. While more important things had no details given. Just the balance of the story wasn't right for me. You should read it for your self because my opinion shouldn't matter, and you might love the book.
This book needs a lot of editing. There are so many inconsistencies it makes it almost unbearable. There was gratuitous abuse along with gaping plot holes. There is virtually no world building or character development. This is a rushed plot hole ridden story.
Amy is an omega trying to hide as a beta. She gets busted and is sent to the academy. Drama ensues along with some pretty traumatic moments. For some reason the story didn’t flow for me.
I really enjoyed this book, it was dark (Check TW) and gritty. I loved how the FMC never loses her fight or sense of morals, even when in love. This book had me turning pages so fast, needing to know how it would end. To say I was gripped is an understatement. I can not wait for the second book.
