Knot Our Omega: A Wolf Shifter Sweetverse Romance

Rate this book
I’m a failure. Failure as a shifter. Failure as a female. Failure to my family.

Twins are alphas. Full. Stop. It’s a given.

Only, with my first shift came proof I’d built my future on assumptions. My sister presented alpha immediately, but me? I’m nothing but an omega. It was fine. Really it was…until it wasn’t.

On my eighteenth birthday, my pack emerged, drawn to me by my scent, the perfume of a newly blossomed omega. Their decision was made in seconds. They rejected me in favor of my taller, more beautiful, more alpha sister.

She accepted my pack as her own, not even pretending to give it a thought. Without a mate, I’m a liability and, since presenting, my family treats me as such. I’m their maid. Their cook. Their embarrassment. I was once one of their princesses.

Now I’m something that needs to be put out, like the trash. They prove that point by selling me to the first pack that will take a weak omega like me—the DarkShadow Pack.

I’ve heard of them—the whispers, the stories told in the dark—the secrets. They’re a pack of ruthless brutes who don’t deal well with others and aren’t strangers to the shifter judicial system. No omega in her right mind would accept them, but I don’t have a choice. It’s either them or death. Please let me have made the right choice.

Knot Our Omega is the first in the Stuck in a Rut shifter why choose sweetverse romances. Each stand-alone novel features an omega female and her brutish, brooding wolf shifter alphas. Knot Our Omega features an omega strong enough to tame the wildest beast, the dream that leads them to find their mate and empty their bank account, a misunderstood pack, omegaverse goodies including heat, rutting, marking, perfuming, slick, and all the knotty goodness you love. And of course, a happy ever after that includes an adorable baby or two.

This was a sweet Omegaverse novella.
There were quite a few typos that pulled me out of the story, and a few details that didn’t quite add up.
But overall, it was a soft and enjoyable read.

Plot Holes, Inconsistanty, and Spelling Errors, Oh my!

For anyone who enjoys OV, prepare to be confused. For anyone who enjoys wolf-shifter books, prepare for questions. For anyone who enjoys decent grammer and spelling, prepare to be let down.

I knew I was going to struggle with this book by chapter 2, but I liked the permise, so I decided to push through. I think it also helps that Mazzy J. Marsh's books are know to be filled with spelling and grammer errors, so I knew that was going to be a problem going in.

There are a lot of "twists" in this OV world that don't make a lot of sense, including packs. Rumor's parents are an Alpha pair. The fact that her sister ends up with her pack, makes no sense since "packs are built to take care of omegas." It also makes no sense that several times they pack said "maybe your sister is reaching out to see if your heats line up" since the alpha sister wouldn't have a heat..... speaking of heat, Rumor's didn't even last a day, despite all the build up and concern they had. They litterally say "you've had a rough 10 hours" discussing the heat AND the events that happened right before it with the bad guys.

The characters in this book do shift into wolves, but the pack structure doesn't make a ton of sense. There are Omegaverse style family packs (like Rumor's three guys, or her sisters guys [never clarified how many]). These can be a wolf pack on their own, or exist inside larger wolf packs. The alpa of a wolf pack has no clear explained difference than the alphas of the omega packs.

Biggest Plot Holes.....
1) Rumor's family doesn't want any one to know they birthed an omega. Yet they make a public posting about auctioning her off. They have private viewings, allowing people to come in and look at her, knowing who she is and why they are getting rid of her. Who airs the dirty laundry they are trying to hide like that?
2) How far away is the "b@stard pack" from Rumor's birth pack? In chapter 6 they say its over 6 hours away. If that is the case, why does no one think it's strange that Rumor's sister showed up for a random Saturday farmers market? This also doesn't match the time line of her getting back to her family pack later.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ — “Weak?” Nah. She’s fire in a velvet glove.
Let me just say it: Knot Our Omega by Mazzy J. March grabbed me by the feels and refused to let go. I devoured this book in one night, then stared at my ceiling thinking about found family, rejected worth, and all that knotty shifter goodness we don’t talk about in polite company.

From the jump, I felt her. The heartbreak of growing up believing you’re meant for one life—one identity—only to have it yanked out from under you like a rug soaked in betrayal? Oof. And then your own pack—your twin, no less—just swoops in, takes your fated ones without hesitation, and no one even blinks? Yeah. That kind of pain hit deep. I wanted to wrap this girl in a blanket, hand her a sword, and burn everything that wronged her.

And yet, this isn't a sob story. This is her rise. Her omega awakening isn’t weakness—it’s power, but soft and strong in ways those smug alphas never saw coming. She’s not the problem. They are.

Enter the DarkShadow Pack—and holy primal instincts, YES. They’re rough around the edges, judged before they’re understood, and exactly the kind of messy, loyal chaos she needs. The chemistry? Instant sparks. The pack dynamics? Deliciously tense. The slow realization from these hardened men that she’s theirs? Chef’s kiss. Protective, broody, scarred alphas who don’t know what to do with this soft, sweet omega with a spine of steel? Yes please. More please.

This book gave me:
• 🔥 That “you belong with us, always” energy
• 💔 Beautiful healing from abandonment
• 💋 Sizzling heat and all the omegaverse goodness (yes, knotting, marking, slick, all of it—don’t judge me, I was feral)
• 💪 A heroine who doesn't need to scream to be strong
• 👶 A baby epilogue that had me teary-eyed in the best way

And maybe the best part? It reminded me that strength doesn’t always roar. Sometimes it cries. Sometimes it survives. And sometimes it chooses love even after being taught it doesn’t deserve any.

So yeah—I came for the heat, but I stayed for the heart.

If you love omegaverse, second chances, found families, and big bad wolves who fall to their knees for one soft-spoken omega? Knot Our Omega will absolutely scratch that itch. And maybe a few others. 😏.

What I liked- I liked the way the men cherished the heroine. And I liked the friendship between the women. And despite its faults, the book is smooth and compulsively readable. And I liked Penn.
What I didn’t- I felt like the men had only surface quirks to differentiate them from each other rather than character. And the story was defined by tropes that felt tired. The Cinderella trope, for example was over the top with the evil family members who literally forced the (incredibly beautiful) heroine into being their servant. It It was over the top without having anything new to say.
I was on the fence about whether to give this story three stars or four. Ultimately, I decided that it should get four stars because it was compulsively readable, as in I was glued to my Kindle until I had finished it. Was the story clichéd? Yes. Was I able to put it down? No.

This was a very short and underdeveloped book.

Rumor is an Omega wolf who gets sold by her family to a pack of alphas. These alphas have a bad reputation for being bad guys. In reality they are generic nice guys and have no personality. Who knows how they got their reputation.

The generic nice guy mates treat Rumor nicely and have a farm.

Alas, prior to the book starting, Rumor was rejected by her fated mates in favor of her sister. Her generic fated mates didn’t want her because she was an Omega. Her sister is a generic evil mean girl. Mysteriously, her sister is infertile and decides to kidnap Rumor so she can keep her in a rape dungeon for the generic fated mates to impregnate. We don’t know why her generic evil sister thinks this way or knows she’s infertile. I don’t think the generic fated mates even have names.

Rumor’s new nice guy mates rescue her and her old servant friend. They’re such nice guys that they leave the generic rapists alive and don’t follow up on the whole kidnapping issue.

They live happily ever after, I guess. It’s hard to tell since Rumor’s evil sister is still around and so are the rapist fated mates.

There were emotional parts to funny and even some sensitive talks. The alphas Penn, Vargus and Wilder were the complete opposite of other Alphas where they cherish, support and welcome Rumor to be the woman she wants to be, and do what she did before her Omega came to. From a hostile pack to a pack that is the complete opposite of what's she's used to. Very sweet!!

Rumor, 20, Only omega born into the all mighty all alpha producing Bronson Pack, her twin Reyna is the alpha of the two. Once Rumor presented as an Omega she was downgraded as a servant in her parents household, while her sister rubs her alpha status into Rumors nose and plus the 3 fated mates that were Rumors, quickly became pledged to Reyna. Trigger warning- Rumor did try to commit suicide and was talked about it and how her own mother wished the poison did work instead. Rumor is also up 'For Sale' to the other alphas, which Rumor didn't even know.

Darkshadow Pack aka b@stered pack, all three were products of men cheating outside of their mates,

This was an engaging series opener and I have to say that poor Rumor got the short end of her family when she presented as an omega. Her fam prided itself on only producing alphas so they were cruel and abusive with her, even her twin sister. When they decide to sell her to get her out of their lives, she ends up being bought by the Dark Shadow Pack. Vargas, Penn and Wilder have a terrible reputation that they've encouraged to not have to deal with the inequities of their society. They bought Rumor with hopes she'd choose them but they had so much healing to do with her first. I love that their reputation was completely opposite to how they truly are. There is some spice in this one but, understandably, it was towards the end of the book. There's also a fair bit of drama, some danger and hot chemistry. I really enjoyed this one and look forward to the next book :D

Rumor is half of a set of twins. She was suppose to be an alpah but on her 18th birthday she presented as an omega. Her life became a series of spite from her parents and sister.
Vargas,Wilder. and Penn are bond mates and called the bastard pack. One has given up on finding an omega.
Then Penn returns from town with the news of an auction going on for an omega. He gathers their money and heads to get their omega. Her family takes his money and sends her on her way with the warning she is not to return.
Her life with the Darkshadow Pack, the bastard pack, the ruthless ones. But to her they are anything but. She is having trouble understanding what her life was to what it is now.
A fantastic story with psychological programming that has the reader wanting to beat he parents and family.

I really enjoyed this book. Rumor was an omega after being raised with her twin sister believing that they were both alphas. When she presented as omega, her family rejected her and treated her like a servant and kept her separated from her family. Then one day she was sold to the DarkShadow Pack as their omega. Penn, Vargas and Wilder had almost given up on finding their omega, but when they heard of Rumor’s family selling her, they all knew she was their mate. This story had the right amount of heat and drama and angst in it to keep my attention. I loved how the guys won Rumor’s trust and love and saved her from her sister and saved her friend Lily as well and they have their happily ever after together. I’m hoping that Lily has her story too.

This could have been so much more with more attention to detail put into it. Knot Our Omega was plagued with typos, plot holes, and inconsistencies. There was a terrible case of just not giving any details when it mattered. Do I need multiple pages of smut? No. But the fact that these scenes were barely a paragraph and they had the same vibes as the fight scene, both in the lack of details and the lack of feeling, left me wanting more.

I liked our main characters for the most part. Penn, Wilder, and Vargas were pretty good for unassuming mild soft alphas. They were fairly forgettable. Rumor only stood out in how pathetic she was. She was raised as an alpha up until she was 18. So for only a year was she treated poorly as an omega. Are we just to assume that her entire personality was also so . . . useless?

I just wanted more. If the het-omegaverse is going to insist on being cozy, then give us something.

This is the start of a new series and it’s a great story. It’s well written with great characters and it’s sweet with just a bit of steam. The DarkShadow Pack wants an Omega and when they find one is for sale they decide she’s the one. But their reputation is that of horrible beasts who take what they want without consequences. But Rumor has been treated so bad by her pack and family that she’s happy to go with Penn, Wilder and Vargas as their Omega. Loved this story and this beginning of the series. Anxiously awaiting the nest in the series.

Knot Our Omega

Rumor an omega born into an alpha only family. Her family ostracized her, not only her parents but her twin sister as well. The day that Rumor presented her fated mates rejected her for her twin sister. They treated her no better than a servant since she was an Omega and wasn’t worthy.

Her family sell her like a pig for slaughter. The pack that buys her is known to be ruthless and no one crosses them. However, they aren’t that way at all. Pennington, Vargas and Wilder are great alphas and treat Rumor like an Omega is suppose to be.

Her family is a piece of work and I hoped that they would have more consequences for their disgusting behavior.

Rumor is part of the twin daughters of alphas. As she turns 18, she turns into her wolf, an omega instead of an alpha. Now her twin has her pack and her mates and her parents have decided she is nothing more than a servant. Now she finds that she’s being sold to whomever pays for her.
Great story, first time reading a ‘knot’ story, and I quite like it! Everything, the story, the characters, everything is really great! Grab this book and enjoy the read!.

I enjoyed the story. Rumor and her twin sister assume they are both alphas since they were born to alphas. When she transitions, she finds that she is an omega and an embarrassment to her family. They use her as a servant and then sell her to the Darkshadow Pack. She's heard that they are ruthless, mean bastards. Vargas, Wilder and Penn need an omega and hear of one up for sale They are outcasts and feel that she is too. They bring her home and now the journey begins.

Rumor is an omega, but an omega born into an alpha only family means she is treated poorly, especially up against her twin sister who is an alpha. When her fated mates show up, they reject her for her sister. Now she is treated like a servant in her home until her parents give her to the DarkShadow Pack, a pack with a bad reputation. These are of course unfounded rumors, and Rumor discovers this after spending time with the alphas Pennington, Vargas and Wilder. The romance was sweet, the characters were interesting, and I cannot wait to read more in the Stuck in a Rut series!

I received this book with the understanding that I could leave a voluntary and honest review.

In this book we meet Rumor, Vargas, Wilder, & Penn. Rumor knows she is a disgrace to her family but she never though she would have to go through so much just to find her mates. Vargas, Wilder, & Penn thought they were destined to be alone until they heard about an omega who needed help. What they didn't know was this omega was to be their omega. Can they all find a HEA or will others make sure that never happens?

Another amazing hit by this author. I would highly recommend it to anyone.

Tropes- MFMM

This was good, but as with many novellas, it would have been great if it had been longer and gone into more depth. I was just left wanting to know and see more. The relationships are actually pretty well developed as most of the book is their interactions. What is underdeveloped is the world building and exterior conflicts. We are told the MMCs are considered cruel, but we never know why the world believes that. We see the FMC mistreated by her family, but we never see any consequences for them.

Fun Easy Story

This is a very easy story about a shifter who became an omega at 18 even though they all thought she would be an alpha. She has difficulties fitting in with her family after she presents. She’s eventually purchased by an infamous pack, but finds happiness. There are some twists in the story, but overall it’s pretty short and sweet.

Things that really bothered me and took me out of the story: timelines would randomly jump and there’d be no forewarning; typos & misspellings or just using the wrong word; glaring plot holes; too much foreshadowing.

Feels like a 3,5 ☆ book

Hated Rumor's sister and family
Just because she turned out to be an omega, she's the black sheep of the family?

Loved the true mates: Vargas, Wilder & Penn (or Pendleton Savage) of the DarkShadow pack

But I do would have liked a bit more interaction with some outside characters like their friends from the Black Wings pack
And maybe also more info on the guy's itself. Vargas mother tongue is apparently Spanish

All in all, it's a nice quick read

Omegas evil twin

A slight twist in omegaverse where a family of Alphas and their larg pack treat omegas as servants, less than. Her alpha twin sister hating her for her omega status when she was supposed to be alpha like her. That sister, ( mom too honestly) needed real retribution in my opinion you don’t let a snake that has already bitten you go Scot free. The guys were nice, especially considering their reputation.

This shifter romance is a great start to the Stuck in a Rut series. When Rumor shifts for the first time as an Omega, instead of an Alpha, she is sold to the Dark Shadow Pack. They have a bad reputation, but Penn, Wilder and Varges, have a soft spot for their little mate! This is a fantastic shifter reverse harem romance. I am excited for Knot My Omega series!.

Good story line

The story is good but it could use developing - characters, world building, continuity throughout the book and just overall descriptions. The story line is there and there are parts that are developed well but as a whole I was left wanting to learn a lot more about everything. You forget they're wolf shifters because it only comes up on the last 20% or so of the book.

Her family pack treats her like a servant when she presents as an Omega. Luckily for her they put her up for sale because that's how she finds her pack her who treats her like a princess. Too bad her old pack isn't quite ready to let her go. This was an entertaining story. I look forward to reading the next story in the series.

I thought that this was a good story. Rumor's life before being with her men could be listed as some trigger ⚠️ warnings. Verbal and emotional on her. Physical on those she cares about because they don't want to hurt her. I wish there were consequences brought about for her 'family' as they were atrocious.

rough…

The story has great potential but the writing needs a chunk of help. It reads like the framework of a story rather than a completed work. There needs to be more descriptors, better fleshing of scenes, and more depth to development of characters and storyline. The potential is there…the writing is just not quite elevated.

Cute Story

The story was cute, I think the storyline is a good one, it just felt very rushed. Like someone trying to tell a story as fast as possible and leaving out some of the good parts. I also felt that Rumor and the Alphas were oblivious to things in spite of information being right in front of them.

Painful to Read

This "book" was more like a series of ideas strung together than anything resembling an actual book. There was zero character development and no world building whatsoever. I've gotten lazy about my Never Again list, but it turns out that Mazzy March is on the list because every book of hers that I've read has been a waste.

Beautiful!!

These authors are new to me and I just became a fan. I love omega stories and they did a great job.
The story of Rumor is compelling and has all the feels you could want. Her mates show her how an omega is supposed to be treated, which is the complete opposite of how her family treated her.

Definitely a short read. First time reading this author. Told from all POV. I enjoyed the storyline and the characters. The spice was rushed and not typical for an omegaverse but it was enjoyable enough that I will read the second book. There’s not a lot about the bonding/marking and what it means, which would have been helpful.

This book was a real page turner. I sat and read it all on one sitting. I love the dynamics of the three alphas wilder pen and Vargas along with how they treat Rumor. Rumor being an omega may have been the worst thing to her family pack but being an omega will lead her to an amazing pack!
