Broken King is a captivating tale that looks at the youngest of the King brothers who is raw, broken and lost and falling into a dark tunnel of despair.
This is a second-chance romance, weaving together an array of emotions of intense drama, raw emotions, profound regrets, and powerful life-altering events and mistakes. This story deals with depression, suicidal thoughts and lost love and pulls on the heart strings.
The main character, Ronan, is a ball player and had it all until fate stepped in and took it all away. Now he is at a loss and is forced to reassess his past actions and contemplate his future. Can he make it right with the one he loves and so carelessly hurt or will she walk away for good?
With five king brothers there is plenty more for future stories and I can’t wait to dive into all of them.

The King Brothers have all had their own struggles and dealt with loss in their family. How does one come to terms with a horrible accident, which changes the course direction of your career, life goals, and lots of choices to come. This story deals with real life issues: depression, suicidal thoughts, and the possibilities of why to continue on. Beautifully written story about two people who find their way back together ❤️ Ronan and Kate have gone through heartbreak and now to see if each can help heal the other.

Ronan is depressed and refuses to leave his room. He had always dreamed of playing professional baseball. Having just been accepted into the minor leagues, Ronan was well on his way to achieving his dreams. Then, in a flash, his world crashes down around him. He had been in an accident with a drunk driver. Both of his legs were broken and he lost his right hand. When he attempts to commit suicide, his brother, Marius, finds him. Mathias and Ava insist that Ronan stay with them so they can help his recovery.

Kelly tells Kate that Ronan is living at his childhood home because he tried to commit suicide. She remembers the day they broke up because Ronan cheated on her with Amanda, a perky, bubbly cheerleader. Kate decides to visit Ronan, remembering how she was never able to really move past her love for him. Ronan doesn't want her to pity him and snaps at her, claiming he doesn’t ever want to see her again. In tears, she leaves his room. Ava and Eleanor encourage her to continue visiting. Ava believes that Ronan’s depression might be helped by Kate; she knows that Ronan still loved Kate despite losing her five years ago.

Ronan drops a picture frame. Ava’s new nanny, Sabrina, enters his room to clean up the glass. Instead of giving him any pity after he cuts his foot on the glass, Sabrina helps him to put two bandaids on his foot. She tells him it doesn't matter that he used to have two hands, since he has one. Later, Sabrina takes the liberty to assist Ronan shave his face. Ignoring her flirtation, he hopes that Kate visits again.

Kate’s next visit, she sees Ronan’s improved appearance and that he has finally emerged from his room. Unfortunately, Sabrina went outside the pool in a skimpy black bikini. Kate recognizes that the nanny is young, perky, and has a perfect body. When Ava invites her to go swimming, Kate notices Ronan is in the kitchen, looking out the window. Jealousy and disappointment erupt inside Kate.

This is an intense romance novel that explores the rekindling love between Ronan and Kate. Trust is a major component, which Sabrina seems to be the catalyst that causes Kate’s own insecurities to surface. Ronan may be oblivious to Sabrina’s intentions because of her abrasive remarks that come off rude, but Marius seems to notice her. I found it entertaining to watch Ava and Mathias talk about having two babies, Theo and Matty, causing them realistic sleep deprivation for new parents. The unpredictable events and intense dialogue between the supporting characters make Kate and Ronan face their overwhelming fears. This book definitely falls on my favorite list and I look forward to continuing the series.

Broken King is the third book in the King Brothers series, and it was just as good as the prior books! It’s a breathtaking second-chance romance.

It’s now time for Ronan to share his story, which is unforgettable and full of emotions. Ronan had it all at one time in his life. He had a girlfriend who had a beautiful soul who loved him for who he was, not his family name. However, Ronan made a terrible decision that tore them apart. He dreamed of playing baseball and had the talent to do that. An accident tore that away. Now, he is in a terribly dark place that his family is trying to pull him out of, but he doesn’t have any desire to leave the shadows and begin to put his life back together. Until that beautiful girl, Kate steps back into his life. She might be the one who can show him there are other dreams he can achieve.

Kate was madly in love with Ronan. He was her first boyfriend in high school, and she wanted him to be the “first” for everything in her life. After getting her heart broken, she flees. When she returns home, she hears about his accident, and she decides to go visit him. The first meeting went very badly, but she wouldn’t give up on him. She can’t turn off her love for him, and she is determined to be there and help him reclaim his life.

This series has been one of my favorites. Each brother is so very different, and Scott does a great job of making readers fall in love with each of them, although it takes more time to fall in love with some brothers. The characters are so multi-layered and complex. She reveals something new about them with each chapter and each book she writes. She gives you more insight into characters from her previous books without taking anything away from Ronan and Kate.

Broken King is a perfect title because Ronan is broken in body, mind, and spirit. Kate is also broken. Each has their own issues to work through. Ronan’s are obvious, and Kate has self-confidence and trust issues, which Ronan played a part in with their past. Scott turned their issues and past into a beautiful story of redemption, hope, second chances, and making different dreams when your prior dreams go up in smoke. I highly recommend the entire series!

Broken King is the next book in the King Series and it may very well be my favorite. If you haven’t read any of the series books you really need to check it out. The book works as a standalone but reading in succession does fill in some of the pieces of who and what’s happening around the main character focus of this book.
Ronan is broken. Mind, body, and soul. He has no desire to do anything about it either. A drunk driver took away his hand(literally) and his dreams.
So, what does he have left to live for?
That’s exactly what his family is trying to prove to him. It’s just the matter of him finding himself and pushing to be the best version of himself despite his disabilities. Could the reappearance of his biggest mistake be just what he needs? He loved Kate to his core, but he screwed it up and she ran, so why is she here now?
Kate can’t believe what happened to Ronan, and without hesitation she wants to be there for him. However, he doesn’t want her around.
If only she could get him to trust and believe she’s there for him, no matter what he needs. With the help of Ava and them becoming friends it gives her reason to come to the King estate. And as much as she likes Ava, she’s there because she wants to talk to Ronan. To tell him she’s forgiven him. To see if maybe they could try again.
But does he want that?
So many questions and you have to read on to find the answers.
Will Ronan ever find himself again?
The author has the reader rooting for him. Hoping this book takes you to a place he will succeed. Unfortunately not every book is sunshine and roses, so there are bumps and bruises along the way. But having faith in a character is the same as having faith in a peer. Only wanting the best outcome, and knowing if they really want it they can succeed.

The Sweetest, Most Heartwarming Second Chance Soulmate Romance

I am a sobbing wreck right now… K.M. Scott has absolutely ravaged my heart with the most inspiring and heartfelt story I think I have ever read, making this a 10 star read for me! This is the only book I have read by Scott, but that was all it took to make me a fan… I will absolutely be reading everything by her and all her pseudonyms! I love to read, and I read everything I can get my hands on, but it takes someone special, with a talent unlike anything I have experienced before, to make me feel something that makes me FEEL it in the depths of my bones! I will never forget this book, its characters, or how it made me feel! Ronan has everything going for him until one unfortunate New Year’s Eve and the accident that completely changes his life in an instant. In that moment, he has lost everything, or so he thinks. Kate has loved Ronan since their first date. She knew he was her one true love and the only man she would marry, until he admits he slept with someone else while they were apart during college. She doesn’t find out about the accident until she comes home from a six month vacation in Europe with her best friend. Can she make him see he still has her heart and his whole life in front of him, or will someone else come between them? Scott has poured her whole heart into this story, and I completely felt it. The ending is so beautiful. I have never felt so shattered and made whole again by any book I’ve read until now! Please go read this book, I need to know that I am not the only one to experience this feeling! Absolutely amazing!!!

My heart. My goodness, every King brother finds a way to wrap around my heart and tug on the strings and Ronan was no different. K.M. Scott does it again with Broken King, the third book in the King Brothers Series. This time we see behind the smile and quietness of Ronan and find out what happened. Dual perspectives of Ronan and Kate.
Since book one in this series, we have been getting glimpses of Ronan, the youngest of the King brothers. From the young 17-year-old baseball prodigy with his high school sweetheart Kate to the lonely quiet brother in the second book. Now we finally get his story. It wasn’t just a single moment that truly broke him, it was a series of events that made everything worse with each blow. First losing the only woman he ever loved, then his passion, baseball, taken from him after an accident. Kate never lost the hope of one day ending up with Ronan, even as the years passed, she was still proud of his accomplishments and wished him well but the day she finds out he’s back she doesn’t hesitate to show up for him. To show him he isn’t alone, and he can be healed he just needs to let her in.
Can Ronan drop his walls? Will Kate finally get her happy ever after with her first love? I hate spoilers so I won’t say anymore but this one be ready the emotions are strong with every turn of the pages. Now the wait for Marius’ story, Lone King. Could he truly be open to the idea of love after seeing his brothers' stories unfold?

This is the 3rd book in the King Brothers Series. Each book can be read as a standalone as they are focused on a different member of the King family. This story is Ronan's story. I found this story to be a real emotional ride and I couldn't help but get invested in Ronan's story and his happiness. If anyone deserved a happy ever after it was him.

Ronan had it all, he was a talented baseball player, came from a rich family and had the girl of his dreams. But things take a horrible turn for Ronan.
Firstly he loses the love of his life after a stupid mistake he made and then years later he loses his hand in a car accident that wasn't even his fault.
Now he is alone with no hope for the future. He becomes angry, resentful, and struggles with feelings of complete helplessness.
When Kate comes back into his life he pushes her away. As much as he still loves her will she wants him now he isn't the man he used to be?

Kate was left heartbroken by the mistake Ronan made but now she knows he's struggling and she wants to help. At first he pushes her away but she is determined to put him back on his feet. Even friendship with Ronan is better than not having him in her life. But what happens when friendship starts to turn into more? Do they have a chance of finding love a second time? Can they make this work with all the obstacles against them? Or will past mistakes leave scars that maybe too big to overcome.

Broken King is all about Ronan who is the youngest King brother. He had a girlfriend when he was a teenager named Kate. They were perfect together and so Inlove. When they both started college and went to different colleges, things got harder. They didn’t see eachother nearly enough. Ronan cheated on Kate one night which didn’t mean anything to him. He knew Kate was the one for him and can’t believe he ruined what they had because he was lonely. Of course Kate was heartbroken and broke up with him.

Years later, an accident nearly takes Ronan’s life. He wishes it did. Now he’s left depressed, lonely, feeling sorry for himself and absolutely miserable. He was taken back to the King Estate after a failed suicide attempt. He doesn’t come out of his room. He doesn’t want to talk to anyone.
Kate hears of his accident and has to go visit him and see for herself how he’s doing. Ronan is g very nice to anyone who attempts to talk to him and Kate gets the same treatment. Sue doesn’t give up easily. She keeps coming back even to have lunch with Ava with hopes of
Catching a few mins of Ronan.
Maybe Kate being around is just what Ronan needs to stop feeling sorry for himself and realize he isnt Broken after all. Will Ronan be able to see past his own injury and try to be happy again?
I thought this was a well written book with a lot of emotion.

Ronan had the world at his finger tips he was on top of the world, great girlfriend, a career is baseball but when he cheated on Katie she dropped him to the curb and when he graduated high school and got a minor league contract he was on his way to "the show". Until one fatal not his world comes crashing down around him.

Kate has heard that Ronan is back but bruised and battered and not in the right head space, she decides to put all the hurt from High School aside and gets the courage to visit him, but when she sees how dejected he is and not the cocky confident boy she loved her heart breaks into two.

But he rejects her and wants nothing to do with her, so when his family intervene and ask her to persist she is determined to unlock the love in his heart.

This is a lovely story of determination and destruction but with a moral of you can do anything you want if you just have determination. Kate was a lovely character for Ronan and in his deepest darkest history she wanted to help him become the man she knew he could become.

I also love the writing of this story and it had me gripped from the start, the secondary characters were a brilliant addition to the story and although this is the third book in the series you can read this as a stand alone story.

I can not wait for the next book in this series.

This is an engaging and emotional second chance romance story in the enjoyable ‘King Brothers’ series. Ronan King and Kate were in a relationship during high school, but then he cheated on her. They then went their separate ways and Ronan was drafted to a minor league baseball team. Following a horrific accident Ronan is unable to play ball again and looses everything that went with it. Ronan is left severely depressed and feels he has nothing to live for, until Kate visits him. Having been devastated when her relationship with Ronan ended she was proud that he was living his dream. Kate discovers that Ronan is no longer the same person he was and is in pain.
Ronan always regretted loosing Kate but doesn’t think she could love him now. Whilst Kate always hoped that they might end up together but thinks it might be too late. I was taken on an emotional rollercoaster reading this story and really felt for both Ronan and Kate. The storyline does include real life issues such as depression and suicidal thoughts, which gives the story a realistic feel to it. Both Ronan and Kate are relatable characters and their chemistry came across in the narrative. It was nice being back with the King brothers and I look forward to the next brother’s story!

This is such an amazing book. It is part of a series but can be read as a stand alone. Within the first few pages, I was finding myself falling in love with the characters in this book. They have growth and development that is needed to make the book progress but the journey they take to get to where they are going is what just made my heart sink and soar. The unimaginable happens and then there are the pieced to deal with in the aftermath. It is a great redemption story that has you pulling for both characters all through out the book. They thought their lives were forever changes when they came back into each others lives and it really looked like it was. Then the beauty of this book happened and I couldn't stop turning pages to see if what I was reading was actually happening. There is the push and pull with any growth that people go through. The characters do go through that as well. It made me love them even more. It is a quick read because you will get so involved and enamored with the characters that you just can't put this book down. I highly suggest this book and reading the series because this book will make you want to continue with the series.

Broken King (King Brothers) by K. M. Scott. This is such a good series and they can all be read as standalone but I always recommend reading them in order to better understand the characters and stories. This is Ronan's story and its a very emotional read. Ronan has had two loves in his life, first is baseball and his dream is to be a pro and his girlfriend. When he makes a huge mistake and loses his girlfriend, Kate, he feels like he lost the love of his life. He finally gets called up to the semi pros and he is loving it but after a horrible accident it changes his whole world. He can no longer play ball so he turns mean, bitter and just miserable. Kate was so hurt by Ronan but she still cares about him and wants to help him but as soon as she tries he pushes her away. She only tries to show him that he has his whole life in front of him and she would be part of that if he would only allow it. The harder she tries the more he pushes her away. Will she be able to help him get back on track with life or will he completely give up and lose everything. Such a good second chance romance.

Not as dramatic as some of the others in this series. Just as good as the other brothers’ stories. This King brother, Ronan, has two life goals, to play professional baseball and to love Kate. His goals are working out until….Ronan messes things up with Kate by cheating on her. And, he is struck by a drunk driver causing his dreams of professional baseball to crash down around him.

Now, Ronan is stuck in his misery. He is sullen and angry. When Kate returns from a 6 month journey to Europe, she finds out about Ronan’s injury. Kate visits him but it does not go well. He screams. She cries. She leaves. But Kate is determined.

After Kate makes additional visits to the house, Ronan starts to want to be around her again. He makes strides to become less angry, less surly. It works. Kate is willing to come back and visit with Ronan. Cue happy music.

This wonderful love story gives Ronan his second chance at life and love. It is a heartwarming story. A good addition to the series.

Broken King was a great addition to the King Brothers Series, it was book number three. I’ve been in this series since book one and I have really enjoyed reading about the King brothers budding relationships and the strong women who tame those grumpy alpha men. This book is about the youngest King brother Ronan. Ronan has been involved in a serious car accident and falls into a deep depression and very much wants to end his life. After an attempt to do that he returns to the King estate where his family desperately wants to help him recover. In the past Ronan dated a girl named Kate, whom he cheated on, who upon hearing about Ronans accident decides that she just has to see him. These King men are very moody, especially when feelings are involved, and Kate gets treated the same. Will she be able to help the King family convince him otherwise? Will she be able to forgive him for how he messed up in the past? I think you will enjoy reading about these brothers.

This is a great series! Each book can be read as a standalone. The series is about the King brothers. This book is about Ronan. He is the youngest in the family and has always been his dream to play major league baseball. The night that he got drafted, he got into a terrible accident. His career ended before it even started. Since he lost his hand, he feels like he has nothing to live for. But Kate, his one true love, reenters his life. Without being whole, what can he offer her now? Kate never stopped loving Ronan. Now she needs to try to show Ronan that life is worth living. There is so much to live for. Can she convince him so they can have another chance at love? This is a fantastic second chance romance which at moments had my emotions raw. Keep a Kleenex box near you when you are reading. I’m not sure which is my favourite, all three are so good.

Broken King (King Brothers Book 3)

Ronan is the sweet King brother, some of that comes from being the baby of the family and the rest is that is just because of who he is.

His well planned out life was ruined in the blink of an eye and he spirals down as low as a person could. He is surrounded by his family and their love, but it wasn't enough. Then he sees Kate again.

Kate is Ronan's first love and the one that got away due to his own stupidity. She is back in his life and things start to look better for him.

I have loved the other books in this series, but there was something about Ronan and Kate's story that struck me and is still bouncing around in my head. Think this is the best one yet. The relationship between the brothers is spot on, I could picture the fight in my mind. As a mom it would have driven me nuts, but I don't see brothers acting any different no matter their age.

Love truly does heal all wounds, the physical and the emotional.

Having read several books by this author before, I knew I was in for a compelling read—and once again, I wasn’t disappointed. This is the third book in the series, but it can definitely be read as a standalone. I will warn you that you'll go back and pick up the previous ones because the author is an expert at crafting a completely engaging read. In this emotionally charged story, Ronan once had it all. But after a devastating mistake and an accident that ends his baseball career, he's left with nothing. Haunted by his past, he’s desperate for a second chance with Kate, the girl he once loved. Kate, now living her own life, never stopped caring for Ronan, despite the heartbreak. When they reunite, both are forced to confront their past and question if love and redemption are still possible. This heartfelt novel, like others by the author, beautifully explores themes of loss, regret, and the hope for a second chance at love.

A warning to those of you that may not like a cheater or self harm. Both of those subjects are touched upon in this story so read at your own risk. Broken King was a great third installment to the King Brother series. This book follows the story of Ronan and Kate. They were sweethearts up through the beginning of college when Ronan admitted to being unfaithful. From there it seemed that he lost everything. He had a budding baseball career that was taken away from him after a very bad car accident. Kate has been abroad but as soon as she got state side and hears about Ronana she tries to make a connection. At first Ronan isn't too excited because he thinks she is just there out of pity. Eventually he feels like life just may be worth carrying on but will Kate be there to help and support him? I have enjoyed this series and out of the three books so far this one seemed to pull at the heart strings.

Broken King is book 3 in the King Brothers series, but can be read as a stand-alone. This is the first book in this series that I have read, and now I want to read all of them!

Ronan King had a promising career in baseball, and had just been signed to a minor league team On New Years Eve, all of his plans were ended in an instant, when a drunk driver hit his car, causing his hand to need to be amputated.

Kate's sister Kelly tells her about Ronan's accident once she returns from a trip to Europe with a friend.

Kate and Ronan dated during high school and college until Ronan made a stupid mistake, and slept with another girl. Now, years later, when Kate finds out about Ronan's new situation, she goes to try and comfort him and help him recover from his accident. At first, Ronan wants nothing to do with any of the people around him, because he feels like his life is over now...until Kate comes back.

This is a great book with relatable characters and a guaranteed HEA.

Ronan thought he had his life planned out which included a career in baseball and a future with Kate. A wrong choice he made ended his future with Kate and a wrong choice that someone else made ended his career in baseball. Since then, he has been in a downward spiral until Kate comes back into his life.

Kate was devastated when her relationship with Ronan ended, and she has never forgotten her first and only love. After learning what he has been through she wants to be there for him but if they are to have a future, they will have to deal with what happened when they were together and apart.

The love that Ronan and Kate shared hasn’t diminished over time but the still have a lot to overcome as they take us on an emotional journey as they try to find their way back to each other.

This is the third book in this series which is just as great as the previous books. I highly suggest reading the previous books as well to help your enjoyment of this series. I enjoy this author’s creative characters that heat up the pages. This is a second chance romance story that is engaging and hard to put down. A well written story about Kate and Ronan. They had a past relationship but then his life fell apart. Years later she still has feelings for him but he needs to heal. Will she be the one to heal him and get a second chance? I really enjoyed these two characters. They are strong, steamy and connectable. I enjoyed their chemistry and watching their growth. Their story is fast paced and easy to read. This is a romance story that you don’t want to miss. I highly recommend this book.

Broken King is a second-chance romance story of Ronan and Kate. Their love story starts as high school sweethearts who have plans for their future. Those plans change when poor choices are made. Ronan and Kate go their separate ways for a little, but the love they have never left. However, a tragic accident brings them together again but Ronan isn’t the person he used to be. Without giving too much away, Ronan has to remember who he once was and that he can be that again, and Kate is the one who may be able to help.
I enjoyed this grumpy sunshine type of story. I thought the traits of the main characters were endearing and I loved seeing the growth. The story was straightforward and a quick read. I loved how the story continually moved and didn’t have tons of filler info. I have not read any other books in the King Brothers series, but I would in the future.

Ronan is an aspiring baseball star and Kate thinks that he is her forever. The plans she has in her head are crushed when he admits that he did something terribly wrong. A few years later, something tragic happens to Ronan and his life is forever changed. Once Kate gets wind of what happened, she is immediately drawn back to Ronan and wanting to help him. Their desire for each other remains unknown as they venture through Ronan's current circumstances. A true testament to love overcoming obstacles. Watching their second-chance romance blossom and their love grow for each other despite the odds was fantastic. The characters were well written and the raw emotions could be felt throughout the book. I can't wait to read the next book in the series.

This book is a fantastic additon to the series and, for me, is the most emotional one so far. I connected instantly with the characters in this. They were going through so much, and it felt like they had a mountain to overcome, and yet their connection was completely undeniable. I had to know more about them and see how things would play out for them
This author really knows how to write a strong series. Each one of these books has been fantastic, with them all even better than the last. I am hooked as soon as I start reading one, and this book is no exception. This is a brilliant book and I would recommend the whole series.

This book grabbed a hold of my heart and broke it in pieces. Broken King by K.M. Scott is the third in the King Brothers Series. I have read both others and truly don’t think you have to read the others first, but it’s a bonus if you do! This story takes place after Ronan King is injured in an accident and has come to live with Matthias and Ava. Nothing seems to get him out of depression until his first love comes back to see him after hearing about the accident. Of course, little things ensue throughout the story, and you find yourself rooting for the two of them to make it! Definitely a must read!!

This book was heartbreaking. At the start of the story Ronan gets into an accident and loses his right hand. My heart broke for him. He had everything going for him and then this happens to him. It devastates him. He then moves in with Ava and Mathias because they are worried for him. Kate finds out what happens and visits Ronan and that interaction doesn't go very well. There were a lot of rollercoasters in this book true to K.M fashion. I rooted for them the entire time and definitely did NOT like Sabrina at all. I loved this trilogy and seeing the characters from the past books made me a little giddy. I will always cherish this series!

This was such a good book for me. It is book 3 in the series. However, it can be read as a stand alone book. This book follows the life of the youngest King brother, Ronan. Ronan has big dreams and seems to be on track to fulfill them. Until an accident takes his hand. Ronan becomes angry with the world and doesn't see any reason to be motivated to try to see the good that is left. Until Kate comes back into the picture. Kate is the love of his life, well she was anyway until one night of stupidity ruined everything. She had to have come back for a reason though right? Will Ronan ever come out of that dark place? Will he get another chance with Kate? Pick up this book to find out.

This was a great 5 star read. My emotions were all over the place during this read. This is the third book in the series and it keeps getting even better. Ronan and Kate’s story took me on a heck of an emotional rollercoaster. Ronan is trying to start over after a huge life changing event. Kate has always wanted a HEA with Ronan. Can these two finally get the HEA they have always wanted? There is so much more to this great read. The author does a great job with her writing and I can’t wait to read more from her.
