Thanks so much to NetGalley for the free Kindle book. My opinions are my own and are freely given.
It is so crazy to think how many recipes I have seen on TikTok, and yet I don't think I have come across a single one of these yet. That doesn't mean they aren't popular at all, just that they are on a different side of TikTok than I am on. It's just wild to think just how many videos there are that you never see (even ones that you want to that the algorithm just keeps shadowbannig, even though they claim that isn't a thing).
Really can't wait to try tons of these recipes! This also has reminded that I really need to write down all those recipes I want to keep before the app goes away forever, so I am so glad to see someone is putting these recipes in a cookbook, since I probably will forget.
I love a viral recipe but I hate trying to follow a recipe from a video. As well as some viral classics, the book included a lot of recipes I haven't come across, with easy to follow instructions and measurements. The only drawback is that there aren't photos of every recipe. I'm a visual person and I like to see what to expect when I'm picking out a recipe. That said, I have flagged quite a few of the recipes that I look forward to trying!
Thanks to NetGalley and Adams Media for a copy of the eARC for an honest review.
“From viral Whipped Lemonade to trending Pasta Chips, explore some of the most popular, post-worthy TikTok recipes that are taking social media by storm.”
It’s fun to try out recipes you see online, but you’re never sure if they’re worth your time. So many SOUND interesting but are they? Really?? This book, like its predecessor, collects recipes popular on TikTok and gives the reader the opportunity to decide for themselves.
I guess this book is ok in the fact that it slims down the recipes and saves the reader from trawling through them online, but to me that’s half the fun. Another issue I have here is there are nowhere near enough pictures for a book based on visual media. I’d say give this one a miss cause it’s not really groundbreaking or required reading.
I received a free ebook copy from NetGalley in exchange for a fair review.
A nice variety of those viral recipes. The recipes are easy to follow and in general, fairly easy. The pictures of the foods are appetizing. Tips and variations are peppered throughout. I enjoyed it.
Thank you for the ARC. I recognized some of these recipes from TikTok and am excited to try several of them. I liked the photos attached but wish every recipe had a photo. Photos are what really catches my attention. Overall, a fun recipe book.
Book Review: The Unofficial TikTok Cookbook, Volume 2 by Palestrina McCaffrey
Rating: 3 Stars
I picked up The Unofficial TikTok Cookbook, Volume 2 with the same casual enthusiasm I reserve for scrolling past a 30-second pasta transformation video at 2 a.m. The cover alone hooked me — bright, tempting, and radiating the kind of confidence only a cookbook that promises “viral” recipes can pull off. It’s like a glossy social media profile for your kitchen, and I was ready to fall in like, follow, and maybe even duet.
What you get here is essentially a curated playlist of 75 TikTok-born recipes and trends, organized into a single, very tangible place. Think whipped lemonades that foam like tiny citrus clouds, pasta chips that snap and crunch like the plot of a reality show, and the infamous baked feta pasta that has turned otherwise sensible people into ardent carb romantics. There are simple salads (hello, refreshing cucumber salad), novel snacks (Dubai chocolate bars, which sound fancy until you try one and realize you are indeed fancy), and beverages like dirty soda that make you question if soda has social status now. The book is aimed squarely at people who want to replicate the latest food trends without having to decipher a thirty-second sped-up video and(or) an army of cryptic comments.
The recipes are presented in an approachable, step-by-step format that’s genuinely user-friendly. If you’ve ever attempted to follow an influencer’s three-minute tutorial only to emerge with a mysterious pan of something, this book is a breath of calm. Instructions are clear and the techniques feel accessible for pretty much anyone — from the culinary-curious teenager packing a dorm mini-fridge to the stubbornly traditional adult who only recently agreed that almond milk is a thing.
Now for the honest bits. The cover did its job: I kept opening the book just to admire it. Inside, I found a surprising number of recipes I’d never encountered in my feed — which is saying something, because I’d been doomscrolling for weeks. I actually bookmarked a healthy stack to try, imagining a future of impressing friends with trendy, Instagrammable snacks. However, the book left me wanting in one significant way: a lot of recipes don’t have photos. As someone who’s visually oriented, I like to know what I’m aiming for. Following a recipe without an accompanying picture feels a bit like trying to assemble IKEA furniture with only the Allen key and a prayer. You can make it work, but you spend half the time wondering if your version should look slightly more like a sculpture or a casserole.
So why three stars and not four or five? The instructions are solid and the selection is timely and fun — perfect for gifting to a college-bound kid or a friend who keeps asking “what’s trending now?” But the lack of visuals for many dishes means it’s less of a glossy, reassuring cookbook and more of a textual treasure hunt. For the price and the ambition (75 viral hits is no small feat), I was hoping for a little more eye candy to match the earworm-level catchiness of the recipes.
If you’re buying this as a toolkit to recreate social media sensations in real life — and maybe to finally make sense of that viral whipped lemonade — it’ll serve you well. If you’re buying it because you want to scroll through a cookbook the way you scroll through a feed, expecting photos for every single item, you may come away a bit disappointed. That said, I’m still excited to try the recipes I have bookmarked, and I think this would make a delightfully practical and trendy gift for young adults heading off to college.
Final verdict: A fun, practical, sometimes-photo-shy collection that’ll get you making the viral dishes everyone’s talking about — but don’t expect a full visual parade. Three stars: delicious intention, modest execution.

Ever scroll through Reels and save a recipe thinking, “I need to try this someday”? This cookbook is that someday, finally bring 75 viral dishes straight to your kitchen. 💫
From the creamy Whipped Ricotta Toast and indulgent Stuffed Cream Cheese Bagels to Carbonara Ramen and the loaded Italian Sandwich, every recipe feels vibrant and fun. There’s heat and comfort in the Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich, a playful twist with Smash Burger Tacos, and quick flavor hits in Tortilla Wraps and Chilli Oil Noodles. Sweet and refreshing treats like Tanghulu, Brazilian Lemonade, and Whipped Lemonade make dessert and drinks just as exciting. 🍓🍋
What I love is how approachable it all feels, with step-by-step instructions, easy-to-find ingredients, and layouts that make recreating viral recipes stress-free. Some dishes are quick snacks, others indulgent experiments, but all are packed with flavor and personality. It’s the kind of cookbook that inspires you to get creative, try new things, and just have fun in the kitchen. 🍳💛
Whether you’re making cheesy cheese roll-ups, rich Turkish pasta, or experimenting with trendy drinks, this book makes it all doable. Full of playful energy, gorgeous recipes, and a little bit of viral magic, it’s perfect for anyone who loves food trends and wants to bring them home.
Thank you to NetGalley, Palestrina, and Adams Media for providing me with an early ARC of this Kindle book!
This is a super-fun cookbook! Yes, you can find most of the recipes on Tik-Tok but it is really cool having everything together with beautiful photos in book form! And yes. I will be buying the actual book when it comes out. I love my Kindle, but I still enjoy my real cookbooks with actual pages to flip through. But back to my review! I have been making the Carbonara Ramen for quite awhile now. It's a great quickie lunch that feels more special than just a pack of Ramen noodles. Soup-in-a-Jar is on my "recipes to try" list as is the Feta Fried Egg. I also plan to try my hand at the Dubai Chocolate Bar soon and French Hot Chocolate this Fall. I write all this as I am smelling my Biscoff Nutella Brownies in the oven. 'Nuff said there, I think that name speaks for itself. Although I do wish there was a photo for every recipe, I still definitely recommend this book.
Thank you to #NetGalley, Palestrina McCaffrey and Adams Media for this ARC. All opinions are my own.
This is a fun cookbook to look through. I believe that it will appeal to some people because they will like the convenience of having these recipes in an organized book where they can find things easily when they want to use them. It's an appealing book in that it has pictures and easy to follow recipes. There is some nostalgia to the fact that they have all been circulated around TikTok. However, for me, this is not a book I would personally invest money in. There are too many other places I'd put the money where books are concerned. But that is because I'm on social media and already knew the majority of these recipes. So, for me this was duplication. However, I think a lot of people will really love it. So, I definitely would encourage people to check it out.
Thank you to NetGalley for the ARC. I voluntarily chose to read and review it and the opinions contained here are entirely my own.
I thought the cookbook was a lot of fun! Most of the recipes have pictures of the final product, which is a huge plus! I prefer cookbooks that have pictures, and this one did not disappoint!
The photos were colorful and inspiring, encouraging me to want to try the recipes myself. Many recipes were new to me. I didn't recognize them from TikTok, but they still looked appetizing.
Most of the ingredients were basic staples in the kitchen, making the recipes easily accessible for most people. The instructions were clear and precise. In fact, the folded tortilla wraps recipe also included pictures of each step to folding and filling the wraps, which was very helpful. I appreciated how the author listed all the essential tools needed for the recipes, as well as the must-have pantry staples, at the front of the book.
There are a variety of recipes that you're sure to find a new favorite for your family.
Thank you, NetGalley, for the ARC; opinions are my own.
These are fun recipes if you want quirky stuff. Many of them require an air fryer and special ingredients and a lot of them are a lot of work. They also tend to be really unhealthy, like taking standard junk food and finding a way to make it even unhealthier (example— add coffee creamer and vanilla syrup to Dr. Pepper). There are not nearly enough photos and no nutritional information. Most of the recipes are really heavy on calories, processed carbs, sugar and unhealthy fats (like deep fried). Some recipes use MSG but honestly that’s the least objectionable ingredient in a lot of them.
This might be a fun way to get a young person into cooking. Be aware that a lot of the recipes are extraordinarily high in calories and unhealthy ingredients but it could be a fun library read with the kids.
I read a temporary digital copy of this book for review.
This cookbook was so much fun! My favorite thing to make was the cracked latte! Yummy! My kids favorite was the carbonara ramen. air fryer cinnamon bagel, and frozen jello grapes. We enjoyed looking up the recipes and then using that in a hashtag on TikTok to see what others did with the recipe. This cookbook was fun and I look forward to making more items from it. The instructions were easy to follow and I loved when there were pictures. I wish there were more pictures or step by step pictures. Only because I am not a chef and need all the help I can get. I recommend this cookbook if you are looking for fun things to make that you may have seen on TikTok!
Thank NetGalley for an ARC of this book. I voluntarily read it and gave an honest review.
This cookbook is such a fun way to bring TikTok trends into the kitchen! We loved trying recipes we had seen online—like the Baked Feta Pasta and Million Dollar Spaghetti—and finally getting to taste them ourselves. The step-by-step instructions made everything easy, even for quick weeknight cooking. It’s also a great gift idea to share with friends, since the recipes are perfect for cooking together or just laughing over the latest viral food craze. We found our favorites like Dirty Soda and the Hot Cocoa Bombs, every dish feels like a little adventure. If you enjoy TikTok food videos, this book makes it simple (and delicious) to recreate them at home. Enjoy your cooking adventure together.
This cookbook offers so many recognizable recipes that I have seen while scrolling TikTok. It is so fun to have them compiled into one place. For anyone that loves looking at cooking videos online and gets inspired to try them at home, this is perfect! All those recipes are now in one place with easy to follow recipes and great pictures.
Most of these recipes are not "inspired" or a "culinary treat" but instead are quirky recipes if you are in the mood to try something fun or funky. For this reason, I see this cookbook perfect for that cooking teen in your life, and less for an adult.
The Unofficial TikTok Cookbook, Volume 2 is a lively and creative collection that brings viral food trends into your own kitchen. The recipes are fun, approachable, and designed to impress without taking too much time.
This second volume keeps things fresh with new ideas while staying practical for everyday cooking. It’s less about perfection and more about experimenting and enjoying food, making it a great pick for younger cooks or anyone who loves playful recipes.
A fun, colorful cookbook that captures the spirit of TikTok food trends. Thank you to NetGalley, the author and publisher for the opportunity to review this book.
It's colorful and features a lot of quick recipes. I'll admit that I'm a bit skeptical since so many of these are more for the look than for the taste, but I'm also not really the intended audience I think.
My teen, however, loves this.
I think the whipped lemonade may be the best recipe in the book and, yum!
Not every recipe has a photo, which is a bit odd since it's honestly a book of things that were posted on or that you *want* to post on Social Media.
I received this ARC from netgalley for an honest review. This cookbook was a mixed experience for me. Some of the recipes were fun, creative, and easy to follow, while others felt like filler or didn’t turn out quite as expected. The biggest drawback for me was the lack of photos for every recipe—I find visuals really helpful when cooking, and their absence made the book less engaging. Overall, it’s worth flipping through if you enjoy TikTok food trends, but it didn’t quite deliver consistently enough to earn a higher rating.
TikTok really be making you feel like Chef Emeril! This cookbook features some fun and trendy TikTok recipes, plus a few pictures to go with them. I can't wait to try out a few myself. My favorite is the “TikTok Cinnamon Rolls,” & they were a huge hit with my nephews!! It's a fun, lighthearted cookbook that your favorite TikToker would absolutely love!
A huge thanks to NetGalley, the author & the publisher for the opportunity to check out this advanced copy; it was worth it.
This was such a great cookbook and had great recipes in it. I love looking for new things to cook on TikTok and this was a great book to give me the actual measurements of the recipes. I really liked the variety of recipes and flavor profiles in it! There is something in here that everyone in my family will enjoy. A lot of these recipes are easy enough that even my kids could follow them.
Thanks Net Galley for giving me this ARC. I really enjoyed it.
As someone who is on TikTok too much, I watch a lot of cooking videos. I recognized many of the ones featured in this book. It's a fun assortment of recipes that would appeal to new as well as more experienced cooks looking for something different to try. I hope a future volume will include healthier recipes you can find in the app.
I am a library associate and received an advance copy from #NetGalley.
This is a fun cookbook that brings together all of the recipes I always want to make but forget to save on social media. I appreciate that the recipes were shown in a way that felt easy to understand and make with clear ingredient lists and easy to follow steps. This book will work well for cooks of all skill levels and add a touch of fun to every day cooking.
Thank you to NetGalley for sending me an Advance Digital copy of The Unofficial TikTok Cookbook, Volume 2. This is a very thorough cookbook with a lot of descriptions on how to go about finding if the recipe on TikTok is a good choice for you or not. Each chapter has several recipes, but not all of the recipes have pictures included. Overall, I thought it was a good cookbook.
I enjoyed this book thoroughly. I feel like I am always saving recipes from TikTok, and it was great to have them all in one place. My kids and I made a bunch of the recipes during the last weeks of summer, and everything was so simple and delicious.
This would make a fun gift for the TikTok fan in your life. Trust me, if you’ve spent any time at all on TikTok you’ve seen some of these recipes! Now this book provides instructions and measurements so you can recreate them at home. Even the viral Dubai chocolate bar!
Excellent book. Really liked the recipes in this book! The photos were great and the recipes were very easy to follow. Would very much recommend this to a friend!
I loved this cookbook! Tons (!!) of fun, easy recipes, with great pictures and step-by-step, easy to follow instructions. Loved this, and think it would be a great gift for this holiday season!
E-ARC generously provided by Netgalley in exchange for an honest review! Thank you!
This was a great cookbook featuring some of the most iconic recipes from TikTok. There were plenty of delicious recipes to cook and easily devour. The recipes are super easy to follow, being mostly contained on one page, and the amount of ingredients was simple as well. I absolutely look forward to trying out the recipes that I saved to enjoy in the future.
I like how it was arranged. The photos were well done. It might be a more useful cookbook for someone who isn't as picky of an eater as me. I didn't find any recipes that I would make. I do wish there was credit given to the original posters.
