A brilliant end to a lovely series... and I'll never look at an examination room the same ever again...
"...There's a wholeness to you. Not an untouched perfection. No one has that, because if we want to go out and live our lives to the fullest, scars will result. But you have a realness about you, and I can't get enough of you."
Tara Crescent has taken us on a wild ride with this series... A heartfelt romance wrapped up in a sizzling hot package, and I loved every single book. Patrick and Lisa are absolute perfection. Watching their story unfold was a pleasure.

The main characters are smart, educated, level-headed, quirky, believable, mature... and the most real of any fictional couple (especially in the world of D/s) which I've read in a long time. That's reason enough to give this series a try...

Lisa Preston
I loved Patrick. He was perfect. Kind, generous, hard, dominant. We were good together. Fuck that. We were amazing together. It wasn't just the glorious sex. It was everything else as well. It was the way we would reach out and call each other a couple times in the middle of the day, and chat for a minute or two [...] Everything we had been doing in the last few weeks suggested that we were in it for the long-haul.
Patrick walked away from Lisa at the end of the last book. Her confession (that she had been unwilling to use her safe-word one evening) was a huge trigger for Patrick. Even though he said he just needed some time to think, Lisa had no way of knowing what the future would hold for their relationship...

Dr. Patrick Anderson:
"I'm afraid to fuck this up because I love her [...] I love her precisely because she's her own person, and I'm my own, and we can both live without each other. I want her because I can choose her freely, with no sense of obligation. She is the purist expression of my love, because there is no guilt or feeling of responsibility behind it. And I'm miserable without her."
Patrick did some soul-searching in the wake of Lisa's confession. After being married to someone as emotionally fragile and manipulative as Andrea, Patrick was simply unprepared to deal with the thought that Lisa would be so irresponsible.

His solution?
The couple needed to seriously re-think their ability to have a healthy relationship while continuing to have a D/s element...

In addition to potentially letting dust settle on their exam room, there were a lot of other loose ends to tie up with this book:

Andrea, Patrick's ex-wife was still in a coma,
Liam, Andrea's abusive Dom was on the loose, posing a dangerous threat,
Nick, Lisa's former Dom still has a bomb to drop,
The very fabric of Patrick and lisa's relationship was left in tatters at the end of book four...

I often find myself nervous to read the final book in any series, and I was on pins and needles waiting to find out how Patrick and Lisa would resolve their differences and overcome all of the obstacles facing them...

I have to say, I was so incredibly impressed by how this book unfolded... Sorry, I'm not going to give any spoilers, you'll just have to read it for yourself ;)

And just in case you're wondering if the finale to the Doctor Dom series brought the same about of erotic potency as its predecessors...

That's a BIG Yes.

Okay so only one more enema in this one, and a good ole fisting session.

Hand fist PNG and Clipart | Hand fist, Poster background design, Fist

I liked these characters a lot and that is why I stayed with it. They were real normal adults. Which is hard sometimes to find with all the TSTL virgins running around in other books causing stupid angst and drama. The point in these books was that they were healed from previous unhealthy relationships and able to have a normal healthy, though very kinky BDSM relationship. It just kinda got a little boring reading about normal everyday adulting with only the kinky sex scenes to spice it up, especially when there was so much sex it kinda became tedious and repetitive. Cue my enema rant from the last book.

Anyhoo, some people really liked this series and thought it was super hot and steamy. I liked the couple, I thought the series was good, it just wasn't great. Sigh.

I am sure if you have read the other four books of this series you're probably salivating already, and thinking that Tara can not write fast enough! I sure have been!!! SO much so that when Mrs. Crescent asked me to review I dropped all other books and rushed to download Recovery!

*SIGH*

I wasn't disappointed, not that I was expecting to be! For me, Tara Crescent books are an auto buy!

Now, If you haven't started this series. I suggest you do so RIGHT NOW!! It has EVERYTHING you could want!! Lots of passion, chemistry and plenty of intrigue.

*Luck me!!! Book gifted for Honest review!! I <3 Tara Crescent!!*

When a breach of trust occurs, how long will it take for it to be repaired? Patrick is a doctor who can heal the physical brain yet he can't do anything about the hurts in a person's mind. Sadly, the person damaged is himself and he's not able to reconcile an incident in the past which colours his relationship with Lisa. Should Lisa be paying for a slight mistake which is a trigger for Patrick?

Ms. Crescent does a nice job of showing how a person's past experiences ripple out into their present. When D/s is involved and trust is critical, this complicates matters. For me, I found Patrick's worry understandable yet a bit over the top. He's way too sensitive and doesn't see Lisa for Lisa. It's interesting how the story also touching upon this topic. Patrick doesn't seem to be over his ex-wife in some critical ways if he wants to continue a relationship with Lisa. This is frustrating because I want to smack Patrick upside the head. Especially since the incident isn't a remotely harsh discipline.

For Lisa, I only feel pity. Will she now be stuck with someone who is frightened out of BDSM? She finally finds someone who matches her desires. Then to have him go almost to the opposite extreme of her ex-boyfriend. After the smexy medical scenes with Patrick, it really feels as if Lisa's been screwed over. Patrick pulls a bait and switch. He's a cock teaser in the worse way to a submissive who enjoys both D/s and SM. He hooks her onto erotic foreplay including medical kink and a promise of fisting only to childishly rip it away from her. Ms. Crescent does a good job of setting her character up and demonstrating how a relationship could go wrong so quickly.

The BDSM in this story is delicious. I can't complain to the fisting and the medical scenes. For those who know me, both of these are ones I thoroughly enjoy reading. Ms. Crescent does a nice job with the BDSM. It's just the right heat with sweet romance. This kinky erotica is recommended for those with a medical fetish.

3.25-3.5 stars. This was a pretty good serial series. This review is for all 5 parts. This is the story of Lisa and Patrick. Lisa meets Patrick in a bar and they have what seems to be a one night stand, only they feel very compatible and feel a connection to each other. Patrick is a neurosurgeon and Lisa confesses her doctor/patient fantasy to him on their first night together. So they begin to explore those fantasies together and evolves into a BDSM Dom-sub relationship. But they both have had bad D/s experiences in the past and they have to overcome that before they can be happy together long term. It was hard for me to identify with the characters. Some of the doctor play was squicky (there was a lot of enemas happening). The sexy times sometimes got repetitive when it wasn't moving along the plot. Overall, though, the story was good. Lisa and Patrick were likable. They were very polite, almost formal at times and not very relaxed with each other like a real couple would be. But I liked the way their relationship developed and I felt it was realistic with everything they were going through. This was an interesting and different story and I did enjoy it.

Loved this whole series.
Great end to a book...a fisting and a ring lol...predictable with the engagement, but really there is no better way to end a love story...but the fisting made a nice change.
I loved that the series covered a wide range of a BDSM technics...and this story did feature Liam..which it had to, but to be honest I was disappointed in this bit. I thought he would do more to Lisa than he did and that would cause Patrick to realise that he needed to man up and really protect his sub, instead of pushing her away because she felt that on one occasion she didn't want to use her safe word..yet I felt her reasoning at that time, was valid.
Maybe yes she was putting herself in harms way, but I'm sure both would have stopped the punishment before serious harm was caused which was in fact the case.
I realise Patrick had his own issues but I felt it was a bit excessive for what had occurred and the time that had passed.

I did love this book and the series.
I look forward to more from this author x

Damn. Just. DAMN.

I'm so upset right now, I can't believe it's over. I feel so bereft that I won't be following these characters any further. From beginning to end this series kept me on edge and desperate for more... it's so fucking hot and emotionally charged. If you don't fall in love with the characters you don't have a heart! And if your panties aren't soaked from an exam room scene... you must not be wearing panties. HA! This is a total must read. DO IT NOW!

I received this book in return for an honest review. I loved the whole Doctor Dom series. I'm not sure if it was the spanking scenes, some hot medical play, or just that I was reading a great romance between two mature adults. I loved the trust between the two and how their love and insecurities showed through out the series. I am curious about Charles and Natalie- is there a book in the works??

Delicious.

I loved the book(S) but wished it had been one book, instead of 3. Great descriptions of a Dom/sub dynamic. I have yet to read a book but Tara Crescent that I haven’t loved.

This was a lovely romance with BDSM as part of the story. My only criticism is having to buy these novellas as if they are "stand-alone" which they are not.

5 A kidnapping, a fisting and a ring Stars!!

Memory is a funny thing. It plays tricks on you. When you look back on your past, you shape your memories to form a narrative. A story, with a convienient start, a middle and an end. But of course, that not how things play out in real time. ( I loveee this )

This book is the ending of the Doctor Dom series and 9/10 times the conclusion s are a bore where everyone lives happily ever after ugh not always the best.. but this… is my favorite book of the entire series.

This book picks up where Patrick left Lisa due to her admission of not using the safe word which riddles Patrick with his troubles of the past.

This is a story about what to do when you want to build your relationship of trust back …of all the things you could think of I did not think it would be the hottest fucking sex tape imaginable!!!

…real life is not like the movies, and everything doesn’t get magically better when hero kisses the heroine ant the end of the movie.

This series is so amazing because its so realistic you could easily see yourself stepping into either role.. they aren’t perfect Doms or Subs they are human.. they sometimes get sassy and they sometimes need reassurance on if you like things. They have great communication in every role playing adventure and in their relationship

The ring is perfect… now, patrick I’m going to bed … I am dying of laughter… If someone woke me up to propose I would do the SAME THING!!!

I loveeed this ending ~~~

This book picks up right where Book 4 left off. Patrick is still reeling from Lisa's bomb that she dropped. He still loves her, but can they ever play D/s again? Could he trust her not to let it go to far? Patrick is sure that they need have a healthy relationship if anything is going to work between them. This book is about Patrick and Lisa reconnecting on every level. They realize, that their relationship isn't 100% about D/s, they have other things going on for themselves as well. When Liam shows up, he shakes things up a pit and causes some issues. I wanted more angst, more turmoil, more of something! That is honestly the only disappointing part of the story for me. Otherwise I loved it, love the hotness, the communication. But Lisa does finds her voice in this book and starts to ask for what she wants and desires from Dr. Anderson.

A wonderful conclusion to the series. I kind of figured it would head that way, but that's okay. That is what is supposed to happen!

Awesome series! I didn't want to put it down. I was postponing everything just to get another chapter in. :) Lisa's and Patrick's relationship is so freaking sweet it hurts! :) Lisa was very relatable and Patrick was the ultimate alpha male, but he always had a gentle side to him even when he was f#%king rough and hard, he always caressed her cheek or kissed her to remind Lisa that this was a game. The ending fell a little short for me, only because the whole series had such hot sex scenes and nail-biting drama. I guess i expected the ending to be more heart gripping. Over all, 4.5 dominating-stars! So glad i read this series.

Lisa and Patrick's relationship returns to a stronger trust one after the hostage situation Lisa went through. They met each other's friends, and Patrick's house renovation completed. Lisa finally met with Patrick's distant and rich parents. After 1 year from the day Lisa picked Patrick up in a vodca bar, Patrick proposed and Lisa said Yes.

Enjoyed the kink though out the 5 books, and liked the sweetness Patrick had towards Lisa.

I began with the Doctor Dom series somewhat wary having never been in to medical kink. I ended up finding a series that I loved and an author that I will continue to follow. Recovery was a good ending to the series with a very sweet HEA ending, I would recommend this series to anyone looking for a light BDSM romance.

Nice finish off to the series, especially emotionally. A bit of a return to some of the original kink visited in the first book. Overall a good read.
