Wataru Mitogawa (ミトガワワタル) is a Japanese manga creator best known for illustrating the manga adaptation of hit anime Gargantia on the Verdurous Planet, as well as writing and illustrating the manga Samurai Edge and GUNBURED × SISTERS.
It’s pretty much what you would expect. It gets a little awkward at times with the titular “girlfriend” in typical manga fashion. It has a couple bonus manga stories at the end that are even more awkward.
The premise is initially interesting, but it feels like the concept has run its course by the time the main story ends. As a rom-com, it doesn’t really do anything noteworthy other than the 8-meter tall love interest. There are some cute and sweet moments, for sure, but overall it’s aight. There are two more volumes but I don’t really have much interest to continue.
I’m a bit curious as to why Seven Seas went with this title for the English release - Chieri and the MC aren’t dating😭 pretty sure the Japanese title just has Chieri’s name in it instead. Seven Seas moment ig, they’re always a bit weird with the titles they pick tbh.
Anyway, this was a little different compared to the standard high-school rom-com series. The female MC is huge, and there’s some changes in her lifestyle because of that. This first volume was nice, and I like Chieri and the MC’s dynamic. Might pick up volume 2 at some point.
Finished the entire series. Giantess fetish x Gyaru fetish was not something I was ever prepared for. Honestly the concept was different so it was cool - I only had meh feelings abt the ending (2⭐️)
