The conclusion to the High Republic Adventures series. Eriadu has become an open battlefield in which the Jedi and their allies have to make a desperate last stand against the Nihil, whose leader wants to unleash a catastrophe which will devastate the planet and kill millions.

This book is a bit of a mess, with overly-busy artwork confusing over-packed pages featuring all too many characters. It's hard to tell who's who, where they are and what they're doing most of the time and, for me, the fact that it was almost impossible to actually follow the story of the battle meant that it was really hard to get into this book.
Added to that is the fact that, due to the bonkers way the High Republic publishing initiative was planned, there are important events relevant to these characters that don't even take place here. The most egregious example of this is that we're given an 'Oh, by the way...' moment regarding the death of a major character of the Adventures books, which presumably happens in one of the adult or YA novels, but which we're somehow supposed to feel is connected to what we have here.

As well as all that, I found it pretty tedious that Older's only touchpoint for development between two characters seems to be for them to fall in love, to the point that almost every other Jedi character now has a love interest (despite that being against the rules of the Jedi). I was onboard for Lula and Zeen's romance, but I really didn't need scenes of people declaring their romantic feelings toward Farzala Tarabal or Emerick Caphtor.
Sometimes people can be close and still just be friends, you know.

Overall, if you like action you'll have plenty to get stuck into here, but for me this was a pretty disappointing end to the series.

An okay ending. I really enjoyed the focus on Farzala in the final issues. It really elevated his character and gave him the spotlight he needed. I think he honestly might have become my favorite from the adventures line after these last issues.

The artwork really was getting on my nerves this time. The style is just too busy for my taste, and I found it incredibly difficult to track and visualise what was going on in the Battle of Eriadu.

The ending felt a bit too neat, with a lot of "sacrifices" where the character didn't even die. I enjoyed the sparse dialogue in the final issue as it showed each character reminiscing on all the trials they went through that ultimately led to victory.

Overall I think phase 1 was the strongest for the adventures comics, with this coming in second. The final battle was just spread out a bit too much. Felt like there was a lot of wheels spinning by the end.

Interesting that the galaxy was a much better place back when Jedi were allowed to kiss and/or be gay.
Kinda weird that they just forgor like that...

Then again everything that happened in Eriadu guaranteed that Wilhuff Tarkin would be born so that he could then go on to blow up Alderaan.
Of course, Tarkin is hinted to also be gay...

Goddamn, it really is all connected.

Eriadu is free :)

And Lula and Zeen are married and will be together forever and ever and ever and I love them more than anything 🫶

Overall not as impressive as I wished for the finale, with some nice but also some lacking artwork, but still a charming reunion and victory for our rebels and Jedi and heroes and pirates and best friends.

And so it ends... thank goodness. I have developed a deep sense of fatigue when it comes to the Battle of Eriadu, because I've read every angle of it. Additionally, this was such a messy final volume. Everyone is everywhere. Plot threads are tangled together without any care for cohesion. But the hopeful ending is nice.

This isn't bad. Loads better than the previous volume and it's great to finally get one (outstanding) artist who covers the entire book. Great work, Harvey Tolibao!

Another extremely over starred book when I gave it a one. Just run away from this failed high republic.
