I like my dark beastly stories with a bit of class, not nonstop explicit content that feels totally forced. The characters didn’t have enough depth to make me care about them either. Plus, that heavy hopeless sadistic vibe the story kept pushing? Definitely not my thing. So yeah... you can imagine my reaction.
I won’t lie, the idea behind this story actually has potential. With stronger development, it could turn into a pretty solid read.
If you’re into extreme, no-boundaries, cringe-worthy-smut and don’t expect much else, you’ll probably enjoy it more than I did. Personally, though, it just wasn’t for me.

2 It’s breaking my heart to do this⭐️⭐️
I am frustrated because this is not lacking in talent, it’s lacking in experience.
This felt like reading a story from a fantastic, raw creative talent, without any editorial restraint. 😢
How do you rate a book when the originality is incredible, but the execution is terrible?
The story itself was easily 4–5 ⭐️’s. It was wildly original and yes, I wanted to turn the next page, like my life depended on it. But the execution often made absolutely no sense.
Should I forgive enormous flaws because the story feels alive?
I genuinely don’t know. I used every lifeline I had trying to answer that question.
Because this story is good. Very good, in fact. With proper editing, this could have been on par with Feathers So Vicious.
Events are skipped constantly. We go from A to B without any explanation of how we got there.
Characters appear in random places, out of the blue.
Most of the emotional developments occur off page, and major transitions are told to us in hindsight, instead of being shown.
If you can be graceful about the mistakes, you actually can enjoy this story, like I kind of did.
The two princesses are born into the human world, where most women have been stolen by the Urekai and women are now rare. Because of this, the youngest daughter is disguised as a boy her entire life to spare her from the fate that comes with being female.
The humans and the Urekai, a shifter race, have been at war for years and both sides have committed terrible atrocities against each other.
Daemon, the Lord of Kings, went feral during the war and is now permanently trapped in his beast form. This was supposedly done to protect the Urekai from the humans. Now he apparently needs human women/princesses in order to stop himself from slaughtering his own people in fits of rage and frustration… although the reasoning behind this was never fully explained. 😭
When the Urekai lord Vladya travels to the human world to buy the known princess, he unknowingly also brings home a “prince” for the beast… who is, of course, also one of the sisters.
Daemon genuinely felt like a beast. There was no humanity left in him, and the brutality worked because he did not behave like a man pretending to be monstrous. Check your triggers.🖤
Along the way, Emeriel, the princess disguised as a prince, develops a deep connection with Daemon and slowly awakens parts of his humanity. Unfortunately, many of the emotional turning points between them happen off page, so instead of experiencing the tenderness as readers, we are often told afterward that it happened. 🤦♀️
Still… the beast’s protectiveness and growing softness toward Emeriel were fantastically done. That relationship absolutely carried this entire book for me.
I also loved Vladya’s friendship with Daemon. Their loyalty and history together felt far more emotionally grounded than much of the plot itself.
My biggest issue besides the structural chaos was probably the sisters’ relationship. It felt simultaneously codependent and emotionally shallow, and many of their actions made no rational sense whatsoever.
And lastly… the he/him narrative was confusing at best.
Emeriel identifies internally as female the entire time. She is disguising herself as a man for survival, but it is not presented as her identity, so constantly maintaining the male narrative voice became strangely distracting after a while.
The sisters are repeatedly moved across locations without journeys, transitions, or explanation, and the almost identical arcs given to both of them started feeling repetitive instead of meaningful.
But did I love the relationship between Emeriel and the beast?
Omg yes. That was the whole book🙌
Should you read it? Not in its current state. If this was reworked by an experienced editor, this could be a sensation.
Chance of divorce? I am not continuing the story. So I don’t know😭
Does the cover fit the content? 1/10 😂

This is probably the worst booktok made me read. It got on my TBR list because of the trigger warnings. I wanted to read something dark, something that would challenge me. This book is not it. It makes me cringe, and not for the right reasons. It is bland. The story falls flat and the characters and plot twists are cliché, at best. Take my advice and spare yourself the experience. I can't for the life of me understand how it has such a high rating here.

January 2, 2025Ok, so this book will be published in February of this year. However, this story is available to read in pay by chapter format. I HATE to admit it, but I got sucked into it through the pay by chapter format and I was bored on New Year's Day so I figured, 'Why not?' I falsely thought that by it being published into a book that it would not fall into the same pits of doom that most pay by chapter books do, but boy was I wrong. $19 later and 33 "chapters" in, this book had almost made no progression, and to be honest, I wasn't that much of a fan of the things the author had chosen to take place, thus far. The older sister was raped by the "beast" which is the MMC in beast form. Grant it, he's supposed to be insane and stuck in the beast form, but talk about ick. I'm just not a fan of sword crossing or swords going in sister sheaths... In this time too, the ONLY interaction the FMC and MMC have had is him breaking out of containment to rape her in beast form too! Then he returns to his cage, where the FMC (who is ONLY referred to as he/him the entire time by the author's 3rd person telling of the story-- even though we KNOW it's a girl pretending to be a boy to keep herself safe) is now at risk of being raped by everyone because the Urakai don't care if you're female or male (so why the hell the need for the disguise then???) It just kept dragging the story out all in the hopes of getting people to sink more money into the pay by chapter platform. I cannot fathom how this will translate well AT ALL in book form. You can not have a successful story that is so far in without any interaction between the MMC and FMC. There's a reason why some author's swear by hitting "beats" in their story. It's because if you lose your reader, then you have no need to even write a story in the first place. I hope this author is successful. I truly do. I admired how unafraid they were to hit on some more nitty gritty, raw topics, that maybe some other authors wouldn't for fear of not being PC, but I cannot continue on with having already sunk that much money into it and NOTHING happening. I think this author would benefit highly from focusing more so on her MMC and FMC... even pay by chapter readers are going to want to know MORE about the two main characters and less about everything else going on around them.

First of all, that cover is so... innocently looking. I wouldn't even realize how depraved and dark this book is without the warning some of you wrote in your reviews. So, for that, I thank you very much.
I went into this, prepared for the worst. I mean, I've read my worst and it involved a fucked up cult eating a fetus repeatedly, so it can't be worse than that, right?
Well, if anyone understands that reference and wants to know if it was as dark as that? Well, it was dark but not as black-hole-you-can-never-escape-from-this-hell dark. But pretty fucking dark if you're a casual reader and rarely dip into the pitch-black dark romance genre. So, be prepared for a lot of rape scenes. And I mean A LOT.
As for the book itself, if I try to relate to my experience with other media, I would say, it feels like you're marathoning the Saw movies. It left me feeling so very tired, desensitized, empty and feeling numb to humanity. Because at the end of the day, it was just sexual assaults left and right. You can't escape them and just have to endure it till it's over.
And my god, did it take its sweet time to be over!
Truly, I still don't know what to think of this book. While reading this, I kept waiting for the other shoes to drop. Like, how far will this author take us? Well, she brought us somewhere all right.
I think the author was right to write that preface about leaving behind all your RL morals and ethics there before starting this one. Because the vibe I got from this one is like
a fantastical dystopian romance, where the human is the lower race and female humans are everyone's sex toys. Hell, it even began with an assault scene and things just progressively got worse for our girls.
This series followed two sisters and their forced journey to the realm of Urekai, where they were tasked to serve a mad beast, sexually. This is where the almost beastiality aspect came in. But hey, it didn't bother me too much. Like I said, be prepared and you'll be alright. It was the casual SAs and groping that actually nauseated me.
One thing that I enjoyed was the pacing. Despite having nothing happened, the story seemed to move very fast. I seemed to swallow this book and the second book whole in just 24 hours and that's a huge surprise for me. However with that said, the characters didn't exactly get properly fleshed out. Another thing that I noticed is that the author seemed to have a hard time establishing chemistry with our main couple (and the secondary couple). And this is especially true in the second book. Their sex scenes are burning through my phones and their intensity left me hot and bothered; however, whenever they're talking outside of bed, their conversations turn janky, jarring and displaced. A good romance (hell, even smuts) book can't only have their people banging their brains out fantastically and turn clinical when they're behaving normally. That's just bad story.

OMG THIS WAS GOOD! FILTHY, BRUTAL AND PRIMAL. OMEGAVERSE AND KNOTTING LOVERS, THIS WOULD BE FOR YOU!! It's not omegaverse per se, but the signs traits were similar.

Gosh! This took me by surprise! I don't understand what's with all the 2 stars review. English is my first language, and frankly the CONTENT matters more than grammar. Those reviewers were pretty harsh, calling out on typos and slamming this as amateur work, but as a connoisseur and huge ass fan of good authors for PNR, SHIFTERS, OMEGAVERSE genres, rest assured - THIS WAS SURPRISINGLY GOOD!
The story features 2 couples - the MCs and the heroine's sister with the MMC's best friend.
EMERIEL was raised as a male her entire life to protect her identity and gender. Why the fuck is that so? Well, apparently I think it's because they live in a misogynistic world whereby the women were treated poorly and as royalty, were used as bargaining chips. When her uncle sold both sisters to the Urekai - shifting beasts - Emeriel sought only to protect her sister. Who knew things would get so complicated when she realizes that she's the perfect mate - a Syren - whose body can accomodate and mate with the beasts. In other words, she's the only one who can bring the beast back from the brink and make him whole again. She's protective, strong, loyal and loves with her heart.
Not gonna lie, the sex was brutal, painful at the same time, if you have a kink for rough, breeding and knotting...gurrrlll this will set you panties on fireee!! It was HOT. I don't care what anyone else says. I guess it's kinda...bestiality?
Since the story is on-going, know that the characters' development is a working progress and process. The world building was okay, not very intense but we get the gist of things.
DAEMONIKA (sorry if I butchered the name) - boy, did I like him better when he was stuck as a feral beast. Primal instincts beats logic hands down. When a person starts using their brain, everything just goes to shit, because of all the WHAT IF'S and I SHOULDN'T. As a beast, he was so in tune with protecting and possessing Emeriel - he just went with the natural flow. Everyone thought their Grand King suddenly developed a taste for boys LOL! Book 1 was mostly Daemon in beast form, they didn't even talk and strangely, it didn't matter. The bonding process without words captivated me, even though it was riddled in brutality. The pacing of anticipation was good.
In Book 2, Daemon's now back to his human form, and gosh, I gotta say, nothing hurts a woman more than being told that the male she's in love with is still hung up over his dead wife. Daemon woken up from centuries of feral wilderness still remembers the death of his wife and sons like it was yesterday - I liked and disliked him for it. Naturally, he can't be expected to fall in love or even want to have a relationship with ANYONE let alone his soulbond mate. Poor Emeriel. She was like an unwanted sidepiece and now everyone's out to get her.
In a nutshell, there's a lot of hot sex but emotionally? Wow. The author just drove a stake through my heart because I'm hooked. Both MMCs are now rejecting their potential mates, setting them free and I'm stuck with a cliffhanger. LE SIGH!
GOSH! I'm feeling some serious Olivia Rodrigo revenge songs for Book 3. I hope the ladies will stand up for themselves, they're worth more than some males who can't appreciate them and now that they've gotten their freedom (from slavery), I hope Emeriel and her sister will finally be able to LIVE and BE HAPPY.
OVERALL it's hot, it's angsty and it's got me hooooked! I'm counting down the days until the next book!!!

Like many others, I discovered this story through a Facebook ad hinting at an alpha beast and human girl romance, which intrigued me. Despite having mostly read only professional books over the last decade, I had been meaning to return to reading fiction for some time, so I decided to give this one a try.
At first, in the author's defense, I must say her writing skill is not as bad as many other readers have pointed out in their reviews. None of the typos or grammar mistakes bothered me, really. To be fair, when I started reading this on a pay-per-chapter application (later I found it on Kindle and finished it there), I was expecting the unpolished writing you usually see on places like Webnovels.
When I started this story, I imagined it to be some kind of darker, kinkier version of something similar to The Beauty and the Beast, but, oh boy, how wrong I was. Instead, I entered something undeniably disturbing, especially when it came to sexual content, with a lot of sexual abuse, raping, and forced sexual encounters that all made me feel like I was reading a porn movie written in words. Though the worst part of all this was - I couldn't stop. The urge to continue reading despite all that was enormous, and as the story progressed, I didn't even notice the brutality and violence as disturbing anymore, as if they fit right there in that world, casually.
I am planning to read all the other books and finish the series because overall the plot (even though many say there's no plot at all) is captivating, at least for my tastes. I already have my favorite couple (and it's not the beast and "the prince") I am rooting for, and I really hope for their happy ending. I have many theories about how their story could evolve, and I cannot wait to read if any of them were anywhere close to whatever the author has planned for them. Thank you for taking me on this unexpected journey, Kiss Leilani!

I am planning to read all the other books and finish the series because overall the plot (even though many say there's no plot at all) is captivating, at least for my tastes. I already have my favorite couple (and it's not the beast and "the prince") I am rooting for, and I really hope for their happy ending. I have many theories about how their story could evolve, and I cannot wait to read if any of them were anywhere close to whatever the author has planned for them. NOTE: This is an honest review in which I do discuss some of the possibly spoiler-ish issues in the book. You have been warned. That being said, this is dark. Read the triggers. Don’t read the book if you can’t handle them.
In a dystopian society, where being a woman is a rare enough thing that they are treated as a commodity; Emeriel is a princess dressed as a prince, whereas her sister Aekeira, her elder by two years has spent her life as a woman. Emeriel tries her best to protect Aekeira, but when her sister is being constantly sold by the king for the use of his lords, it’s not always successful.
When the shape shifting beast lords, the Urekai, come into the human city, they buy Aekeria for their feral beast lord King Daemonikai. Emeriel is determined not to let her go, so she agrees to go with her sister as a bonus slave, still in her male disguise.
The two princesses are not well treated there, because this is definitely dystopian, and very dark.
Aekeira has been a victim her whole adult life, she’s no stranger to r*pe and abuse, and this book doesn’t gloss over her suffering. Her time with the Urekai doesn’t prevent her from experiencing it again, unfortunately, including at the hands of Lord Vladya, ostensibly the “good guy” amongst the Urekai.
Emeriel has been kept somewhat safe from those abuses so far, but it doesn’t last long because she does suffer from a heat which puts her in the crosshairs of the feral beast, and several encounters with a dubious notion of consent.
Normally, these are instant dislike/stop reading triggers for me, but this book is rather strangely compelling. Firstly the setting of the book explains why this happens; this is NOT our world, NOT our rules, and is perfectly normal for our unfortunate heroines.
Secondly, the underlying story is actually interesting. I find myself wanting to know a bit more about the Urekai, and why they are the way they are. And if humans tried to kill them off some time ago, then it seems understandable as to why they might hold some grudges.
Does this explain their actions, yes, and to a point even excuse them. Does this mean you have to forgive them? No.
It’s not the best written book, there are far too many grammar/spelling issues to say that, occasionally confused the reader and making me have to reread a section for full comprehension. It is, as I said before however, a compelling book. The story is interesting, the situation intriguing, and I probably cringed way more at the machinations of certain characters I hated, than I did at the horrors our heroines experienced. This in no way dismisses those experiences, it just shows how they are placed in a society where women have little to no agency, and humans as a whole have even less agency. (I admit to being more horrified by the girls’ experiences at the hands of the humans than at the claws of the Urekai, simply because one had a reason to hate and mistreat humans, the others had no reason to mistreat women).
Ultimately, this was a disturbingly engrossing read, than fans of dark fantasy and dark fantasy romance may enjoy if they can get past the horrors our heroines experienced!

I came across this through NovelBar, and like a crazy person - I spent way too much money to access a chunk of the book I could have gotten a lot cheaper through Amazon. I should have learned my lesson after the last time that happened, but I digress. So apart from kicking myself for that, I absolutely love this series. I'm trying to be patient for the next set of chapters to come out so I can just binge read to my hearts content. I very much recommend this series if you like some spicy romantasy, but I'd suggest waiting if you can. I love the characters, well...most of the characters. Some are ones that you'll love to hate. The plot was interesting, and of course the smut is plentiful and interesting. This book/series is definitely NOT for the light of heart, there are some very very dark scenes - you've been warned.

This book was so hot and cold ! One minute we’re getting somewhere then the next it’s just nothing. It didn’t have to be drag out that long we get it there sisters they protect each other there slaves everyone getting r*pe and torture and we know she’s his soul bound why drag it that long ! One minute I think we’re getting some where and then the next there doing chores like no ! This book could have been so much better ! And then there’s book 2 how long we got to wait til they know she’s a girl in that one or till there finally together or till we know the sister is the lords soul bound like uhhhhhh!

I picked this up after seeing AI-generated TikTok videos about it constantly on my FYP. The premise sounded genuinely interesting, and I was pleasantly surprised to discover it was an actual published book. Unfortunately, after reading over half of it, I ended up more frustrated than entertained.
This book had the bones of a really compelling story. A princess disguised as a prince in a dark fantasy monster-romance setting? That should have been an instant hit for me. I went into it very open-minded, especially as someone who enjoys fantasy romance and even some monster romance here and there. Apparently, though, I’m more of a “vanilla monster” reader — give me werewolves, vampires, maybe even a gargoyle romance for the Gargoyles 90's Disney show nostalgia, and I’m happy. But this book crossed into territory that felt more sloppy and excessive than immersive.
My biggest issue was the lack of direction and organization. The plot jumps around constantly, scenes transition awkwardly, and the world-building is almost nonexistent despite the story clearly trying to establish a medieval fantasy setting. The editing was also rough. Typos, grammatical issues, and inconsistent narration repeatedly pulled me out of the story. At times, the writing honestly read as though it had been AI-generated or at least heavily AI-assisted, which made me start wondering whether “Kiss Leilani” is even a real author or a pen name generated for content farming.
The third-person narration was especially confusing. The protagonist is biologically female but disguised as a prince, and while I understand the intent behind using he/him pronouns publicly, the narrative itself constantly flips back and forth in a way that becomes distracting. It repeatedly reminds the reader, “he is actually a she,” to the point where it interrupts the flow rather than enhancing the tension of the disguise.
The story’s internal logic also falls apart if you think about it for more than a minute. We’re told women are incredibly scarce because of some vague disease that wiped out much of humanity, especially women. Realistically, that would make women highly protected or valuable in society. Instead, women are treated as disposable sex slaves and abused constantly. If men supposedly hold all the power and value in this world, then why is the prince himself so easily sold off and mistreated? The societal structure never makes sense, and the book does little to explain it.
Another major issue for me was the sheer amount of sexual assault and non-consensual content. I enjoy spicy romance and smut when it serves the story, but this felt excessive to the point of becoming uncomfortable and repetitive. There’s barely time for emotional development, plot progression, or meaningful character relationships because nearly every chapter swings back into explicit content. At some point, it stopped feeling provocative and just became exhausting.
The relationship dynamics were also frustratingly inconsistent. The male lead already has a territorial human blood host who behaves possessively toward the protagonist, despite the protagonist supposedly being his destined soulmate. The blood hosts themselves are written almost like mistresses, with feeding scenes portrayed in highly sexual ways involving climaxes and emotional attachment. It made the soulmate connection feel hollow and honestly came across more like emotional cheating than romantic tension.
I also wanted to mention the Urekai themselves, because this is where I thought the story had the most potential and where it disappointed me the most.
The Urekai are introduced as these feared werewolf/vampire hybrid “beasts” who can shift between a human-looking form and a monstrous beast form. Humans fear them because they are described as savage, violent, and driven by predatory instincts, particularly toward humans. Going into the story, I genuinely expected the author to challenge those assumptions. I thought the entire point would be to show that the Urekai are actually more nuanced — perhaps misunderstood, more civilized than humans believe, or at least morally complex beneath their monstrous exterior.
Instead, the story does the opposite.
From the moment the characters enter Urekai territory, the narrative never really expands beyond the humans’ initial fears and stereotypes. The Urekai are not developed into a sophisticated or deeply layered society. They remain almost exactly what the humans described them as in the beginning: violent, sexually aggressive, and ruled by their baser instincts. There’s no meaningful exploration of their culture, politics, traditions, or emotional depth beyond lust, possessiveness, and brutality. It made the world feel incredibly shallow considering how much potential the concept had.
The "prince" and princess are assaulted within the first few chapters, and honestly, that almost made me stop reading immediately. I kept going because I assumed there would eventually be some kind of redemption arc or reveal — that perhaps the story would subvert the “savage beast race” trope and show there was more beneath the surface. But that moment never came. There’s no real payoff, growth, or deeper commentary that justifies how heavily the story relies on shock value and sexual violence.
That ended up being the most disappointing part for me. This book had the framework for an interesting dark fantasy romance with morally gray creatures and complicated cultural tensions, but instead it leaned fully into the cruelty without giving the reader enough substance, emotional depth, or world-building to balance it out.
What made this even more frustrating was the explanation the story gives for why the Urekai behave this way toward humans. The reader is essentially given a very surface-level justification that humans betrayed the Urekai centuries ago, and because of that betrayal, the Urekai now treat humans with cruelty, violence, and extreme hostility. But the book never really explores this history in meaningful depth. It’s presented as a blanket excuse for their behavior rather than a nuanced conflict between two societies with complicated histories.
A generational betrayal storyline could have added real emotional weight and moral complexity to the world-building, but instead it feels vague and underdeveloped. The explanation is so simplistic that it ends up reading less like thoughtful lore and more like a convenient way to justify the constant abuse and violence throughout the story. It left me feeling like the author introduced potentially interesting political and historical tension but never actually committed to exploring it beyond the surface level.
I really did try to push through because the concept had so much potential, but by around 60%, I gave up. Between the disorganized storytelling, weak world-building, inconsistent characterization, nonstop smut, and constant editing issues, reading this book started to feel more like work than entertainment.
Overall, this was a disappointing read with an intriguing premise that never lived up to its potential.

I am not a "omegaverse" reader. This was my first toe dip, and it just confirmed that anything to do with that kind of genre is not for me. If you like that kind of thing, maybe this series is for you... but overall I found it to have: typos, cringe dialogue and was predictable and pacing was off. Just, not written well overall IMO - or whatever the heck "web novel style," that the author stated was their writing style, is just not for me. Words used during spicy scenes just really turned me off - examples being: phallus, core/aching core, manhood, swollen gland, slippery/engorged nub, her womb, presenting, mounting, hungry channel, nether lips, st@b... I just... No. Absolutely not for me.

I don't think the book is represented correct. Basically have such a good reviews on the FB and such a disney cover that i though it will be fated mate think and he would feel when she is in distress and stuff like that. Yes author said is dark and have TW once you open the book but i though it will be like all different type of TW and story telling and changing by the chapter. Problem was in every chapter there is R**e basically to different woman's never to the main FMC get it she calls her self HIM but she is in heat she wanna go to him but he doesn't feel it ? really ok than he doesn't feel danger but he eat only when she feeds him real didn't get that fated mate perk there not so much story until 50% off the book where i basically shut the book and left it at that. I just feel is miss represented and the cover of the book should be something darker not walt disney princes style.

Witchcraft, brainwashing or simply a well placed Facebook ad, I was lured from a tale of regency era yearning into what I can only describe as torture porn. I truly lost all control, dropped all pretences of being a refined reader and devoured this book like a man possessed. I’ve never gotten the appeal of books like this, couldn’t really get down with the monster fucker community - thankfully that remains true. If I had experience a moment of thrill or, god fucking forbid, desire - I would simple have to kill myself.
I can only describe my desire to read this book to completion as an actual act of insanity. Did I like the characters? No. Did I like the plot? No. Do I like rape centric pornography? Fuck no. Did I find some redeeming moral queries to ponder with a friend? Again, no.
It was simply like watching a train crash - awful, torturous. And yet I could not look away. I fear I have to continue with the next book - to sate whatever psychotic compulsion has gripped me.
I can only describe my desire to read this book to completion as an actual act of insanity. Did I like the characters? No. Did I like the plot? No. Do I like rape centric pornography? Fuck no. Did I find some redeeming moral queries to ponder with a friend? Again, no.

Meh... The storyline was fine. The editing was rough and the character development was fine. I finished it because I was curious how the story was going to end. Not sure if I will ever read another one of the books in the series... I wish the writing were better because it's an interesting story idea just not executed well.

CHEATING!
After finishing this book (and series), I found myself frustrated. Let’s get into the reasons behind the 1-star rating.
I checked trigger warnings in the books, Zon, AND the author website. I did not find ANY warning that these books involve cheating. BUT THEY DO!
Potential s p o i l e r s for some people.
Here are some of the examples of cheating so you can decide if you’re into this or not:
The H, Daemon:
Pokes it to a worker of the oldest profession WHILE the h is there, and this is AFTER they’ve formed their bond.
The bl00dhost is in love with him and in one of the books he touches her, she does things to him, and he tries to poke at her.
The Heroine, kissy faces with the worker of the oldest profession in another scene and is touchy time with her. While the H watches and then joins.
The H does the deed WITH HIS BL00DH0ST when he’s in beast form while the host is in both beast form and human form! This is not okay. The h is preggo at that point in the series. But apparently no one thinks it’s a big deal because he’s mentally unstable at the time.
The H’s species has mates, bondmates, (Along with Soulbond’s, extremely rare supposedly and that is what the h is to the H), AND bloodhosts. The mates and hosts are NOT the same person. BUT the males apparently feed from the females and the females experience a big O every time they’re fed from, and it also gets the males ready to go. Some do go at it and some don’t with their hosts, but the female host is always doing the big O while it’s happening. For whatever reason this isn’t an issue for the heroine or anyone apparently. Sorry, but that level of in ti ma cy is cheating in my opinion. It makes no sense for the h not to be the H’s host too.
ALSO, the H in his beast forms also gets it on with the sister of the h in the first book before he meets the h. And that’s like never mentioned again, like somehow it doesn’t even cross the h’s mind or bother her.
Basically, the whole mate and bond thing is wacko and all over the place. It’s seems like there’s a complete inbalance in the series between couples being possessive but then it’s completely wiped out by the in ti mate acts with others.
-And the h is constantly referred to as 'he' when he's still disguised as a guy. It was horrible for the A to use he instead of she. Because we all know as readers that the h is in disguise. It's STILL A SHE! So, the use of he did not help the hidden identity. It just because unorganized.
-The Zon description does NOT state that books 1-3 DO NOT HAVE HFN’s.
-The POV is 3rd and all over the place. It’s unorganized.
-The romance does not begin until BOOK TWO! The h is only with the H in beast form in book one. It was heavily focused on the additional plot, which seemed like the main plot in this series. There just wasn’t a good smooth and in depth development of the relationship between the two mains. You actually get a lot of mention of the H’s previous mate and family. The sister and her guy, V, are actually the way better couple.

In my opinion, the romance was in the background for the second half of the book, and it was hardly present in the first half. Unless you consider Nessa finding him attractive.

Her powers are taking way too long to develop. And by the finish of this series, I’d say her powers are still weak and what it is kind of disappointing. Like, there should have been more.

Because of the cheating, and there being no warning about cheating that I found when I looked, it has to receive a 1 star rating.
After finishing this book (and series), I found myself frustrated. Let’s get into the reasons behind the 1-star rating.
I checked trigger warnings in the books, Zon, AND the author website. I did not find ANY warning that these books involve cheating. BUT THEY DO!
Potential s p o i l e r s for some people.
Here are some of the examples of cheating so you can decide if you’re into this or not:
The H, Daemon:
Pokes it to a worker of the oldest profession WHILE the h is there, and this is AFTER they’ve formed their bond.
The bl00dhost is in love with him and in one of the books he touches her, she does things to him, and he tries to poke at her.
The Heroine, kissy faces with the worker of the oldest profession in another scene and is touchy time with her. While the H watches and then joins.
The H does the deed WITH HIS BL00DH0ST when he’s in beast form while the host is in both beast form and human form! This is not okay. The h is preggo at that point in the series. But apparently no one thinks it’s a big deal because he’s mentally unstable at the time.
The H’s species has mates, bondmates, (Along with Soulbond’s, extremely rare supposedly and that is what the h is to the H), AND bloodhosts. The mates and hosts are NOT the same person. BUT the males apparently feed from the females and the females experience a big O every time they’re fed from, and it also gets the males ready to go. Some do go at it and some don’t with their hosts, but the female host is always doing the big O while it’s happening. For whatever reason this isn’t an issue for the heroine or anyone apparently. Sorry, but that level of in ti ma cy is cheating in my opinion. It makes no sense for the h not to be the H’s host too.
ALSO, the H in his beast forms also gets it on with the sister of the h in the first book before he meets the h. And that’s like never mentioned again, like somehow it doesn’t even cross the h’s mind or bother her.
Basically, the whole mate and bond thing is wacko and all over the place. It’s seems like there’s a complete inbalance in the series between couples being possessive but then it’s completely wiped out by the in ti mate acts with others.
-And the h is constantly referred to as 'he' when he's still disguised as a guy. It was horrible for the A to use he instead of she. Because we all know as readers that the h is in disguise. It's STILL A SHE! So, the use of he did not help the hidden identity. It just because unorganized.
-The Zon description does NOT state that books 1-3 DO NOT HAVE HFN’s.
-The POV is 3rd and all over the place. It’s unorganized.
-The romance does not begin until BOOK TWO! The h is only with the H in beast form in book one. It was heavily focused on the additional plot, which seemed like the main plot in this series. I read “The Princess in a ‘Prince’ Disguise,” Book 1 of the Beasts of Wrath and Madness series by Kiss Leilani and it is FLIPPING FANTASTIC 🤯! (FYI, this is an unbiased, genuine recommendation of a book I loved and there are NO spoilers! 🙌🏻)

But it is NOT an Omegaverse! And it’s loaded with steam 🌶️ ! Lots of steam between the first two books in the series 🥵🥵! And guess what? Book 3 is out next week, and Book 4 is out next month! Not too long of a wait 🙌🏻!

Let's put it plainly: Sodomy, rape and brutal abuse dominate the entire scene. Interpersonal relationships are almost lost in terms of content.
Book #1
is about the arrival of the two human princesses Emeirel and Aekeira in Urai and their terrible, incredibly cruel fate that awaits them there as slaves, in a land where humans are deeply hated and loathed (see content summery below).
The story is quite interesting at the beginning (therefore 2 stars) and the language, despite being based on the court language, is simple and easily accessible. Unfortunately, I personally can't say that the characters captivated me and took me away.
I also struggled to create this world in my imagination. There was a lot of information, but I was somehow missing what was really necessary to immerse myself in this world. Too bad!
IMPORTANT:
One should be aware that all, let's say erotic scenes, are rape scenes including sodomy, as the beast mounts young Emeriel several times. Well, generally speaking, all males let their beast have the upper hand during sex - from that point of view, it's always sodomy...
It should be said, that the erotic language is not particularly well developed and is rather banal and 2 dimensional (well, this may be due to the fact that an animal can only be mounted).
Overall: you can read it, but it's also not a masterpiece that needs to be read.
Content summary:
Women are considered rarities and are treated and traded as breeding animals - raped, abused and treated like dirt.
Out of fear, Emeriel is raised as a boy, while her sister Aekeira has to endure all the negative aspects of their society. As Aekeira is sold as a slave to the Urai by her foster father, her 'brother' Emeriel decides out of fear for her sister to accompany her into slavery.
In Urai, the home of the overpowering creatures - a mix of werewolves and vampires..., they learn their destiny: while the 'boy' Emeirel has to do hard manual work, Aekeira is supposed to serve as a sexual offering for their king. Who is after a trauma, trapped in his beast form and lacks any humanoid appearance or sanity. Sex with girls calms his aggressiveness and stops his rampage - and the Urai don't care whether their human offerings are killed or survive the brutal mating of their king's beast.

Since both siblings are extremely beautiful, they attract the attention of various men, all of them just want to (forcibly) satisfy their sexual desires. Although this book had dark themes and the trigger page warned that the book was pitch black... meh. It wasnt that bad to me. But, I also like reading DARK romance. What I think is mah, may be too much for others.
I almost didnt read this due to some of the reviews I read before downloading it. Im really really glad I gave it a shot. The world is unique, the storyline is unique, the "magic" is unique. The family bonds, the friendship, the strength and courage in the face of danger, the hopefulness in the darkest days, it was all there and strong.
I loved the fmc Em, although the secondary fmc Kiera was also well loved. The bond these two sisters had was inspiring. Ride or dies, run into the fire to save the other, action before thoughts, being eachothers safe space. The two mmc's (although one was a beast) were also well developed.
The yearning in this book was well written too. It was there but also ignored, fought against, pushed down. That added another element to me rooting for each character.
The only think I wasnt a fan of was the pronoun switch for Em at certain times. It primarily happened during scenes when she was clearly a woman while every other instance Em was referred to has he/him. Even with their own inner monologue. I think its because the inner monologue was also viewed as male for 90% of the scenes, that suddenly referring to themselves as she/her threw me for a loop. It also took a little bit to catch on the that fact that it only happened at certain times. Thankfully it didnt throw me out of the story because the author does a really good job maintaining her womanhood even while Em is actively pretending to be a boy.
Now, here's my own take (remember I said I read DARK romance). I kind of wish that some of the situations that Em and Kiera got themselves into werent so easily resolved. The tension was built up high and it was quite nail biting, but it was always miraculously fixed right before disasterstruck. Obviously some situations couldnt have gone all the way through or it would have ruined Em's cover, but there were some things that could have gone all the way. After reading the trigger warning page and some of the reviews, I was expecting more trauma and things they had to work through to get a HEA. Who knows, maybe in the future books this will happen, but its doubtful with the allies they have acquired this far in.
The book ended on a major cliffhanger and I downloaded the second one so fast there was barely a pause in my reading haha.

I have no idea how this is so highly rated. DNF at 52% (I gave more than a fair chance to improve).
There are so many issues with this book. First, if women are not born as often (because of some vague "illness" hundreds of years ago), then should they not become more valuable as a precious resource? I struggle to understand how it makes any sense to treat them as free-use sex slaves, when the human race is bound to die out without a concentrated effort to produce more women, and have them live at least well enough to have children. If the author wants women to be devalued, then there should be more of them... At the very least, if men are that much more valuable in this world, why would the king "sell" the crown Prince as well as the Princess?? Shouldn't Emeriel be worth more than a free inclusion? This basic premise just threw me off the story from the beginning.
The writing was the second issue. Quote from chapter 1: "'Not just money, there are gold coins too,' the non-scarred Urekai said. Everyone gasped, including Emeriel. Gold coins were rare and highly valuable." Like... Is gold not currency in this medieval setting? Gold being rare and more valuable is not a new concept... Also see point one on the value of rare things. There are many times that strange items or phrasing is used to try to increase the drama, but it feels so juvenile that it's jarring: The King conveniently has a gavel to smack on the throne during this scene when he sells the princess(es) to the Urekai; Also, "He had bruises, some bleeding profusely, while others were light scratches"; using "it/he" pronouns in the same sentence but referring to the same character. Typos are present, using "licking" instead of "leaking" in two separate places when referring to the FMC's vagina. There is also a general misuse of end quotations when characters continue to speak through multiple paragraphs.
Third, the apparent freedom of slaves... "Eventually, Emeriel decided to step out and explore, wandering the halls aimlessly." A new human slave can wander around, and apparently openly address the Lord's of the castle however and whenever they please, with no consequences, having the ability to choose their jobs, and a very unclear policy on purchasing slaves for personal enjoyment.
Save yourself the annoyance and avoid this one. Perhaps the plot improves over time but without some serious edits I don't think this is worth the time to ever try reading again.

so bad 😭 i have so many thoughts about this book but i’m also momentarily speechless.
why is the best character in this the guy who bought the main character and forced her and her sister into slavery? 😭😭 and he’s not even close to being the most evil person compared to the rest of these people😭😭😭 this book has such an evil aura 😭😭 how does it have above two stars 😭😭 it’s so cringe 😭😟😭 even if you’re into the stuff in this book, it’s still so poorly written idk how people can just ignore everything wrong with this book (which is everything). at least the story itself is somewhat interesting but there are so many inconsistencies and contradictions that so many things don’t make sense and are never fully explained. literally the first major plot point in this book is completely pointless. 😭😭 emeriel has been pretending to be a boy her whole life to avoid how women are treated in this world, but is still treated pretty much the same way as all the other slaves once she’s out of the human world. the only point is to drag out the storyline of other characters not being able to understand why THE BEAST is so interested in her (since everyone thinks she’s a boy and there’s NO WAY the grand king could like men 😟) ALSO WHY WOULD VLADYA BUY EMERIEL IN THE FIRST PLACE???? he literally spends extra gold on a “boy” he doesn’t need because emeriel said she would follow her sister wherever she was taken to BUT VLADYA DOESN’T THINK SHE’S GOING TO BE ABLE TO MAKE IT THERE SO WHAT DOES IT MATTER TO HIM WHAT THIS HUMAN PRINCE DOES 😭😭😭 it just doesn’t make any sense from the very beginning 😭😭😭 the whole plot is insane but it’s also so insanely predictable 😭😭 (is anyone even going to read this review hello if you are)😭😭😭 i will say, one part of this book made me tear up a little so at least i felt something reading that one page

why is the best character in this the guy who bought the main character and forced her and her sister into slavery? 😭😭 and he’s not even close to being the most evil person compared to the rest of these people😭😭😭 this book has such an evil aura 😭😭 how does it have above two stars 😭😭 it’s so cringe 😭😟😭 even if you’re into the stuff in this book, it’s still so poorly written idk how people can just ignore everything wrong with this book (which is everything). at least the story itself is somewhat interesting but there are so many inconsistencies and contradictions that so many things don’t make sense and are never fully explained. literally the first major plot point in this book is completely pointless. 😭😭 emeriel has been pretending to be a boy her whole life to avoid how women are treated in this world, but is still treated pretty much the same way as all the other slaves once she’s out of the human world. the only point is to drag out the storyline of other characters not being able to understand why THE BEAST is so interested in her (since everyone thinks she’s a boy and there’s NO WAY the grand king could like men 😟) ALSO WHY WOULD VLADYA BUY EMERIEL IN THE FIRST PLACE???? he literally spends extra gold on a “boy” he doesn’t need because emeriel said she would follow her sister wherever she was taken to BUT VLADYA DOESN’T THINK SHE’S GOING TO BE ABLE TO MAKE IT THERE SO WHAT DOES IT MATTER TO HIM WHAT THIS HUMAN PRINCE DOES 😭😭😭 it just doesn’t make any sense from the very beginning 😭😭😭 the whole plot is insane but it’s also so insanely predictable 😭😭 (is anyone even going to read this review hello if you are)😭😭😭 i will say, one part of this book made me tear up a little so at least i felt something reading that one page
anyway i’m definitely gonna read the next book to see what happens

This cover is so misleading. It appears to be an innocent YA book. There is a lot of SA and brutal rape in this book. This book is not for the faint of heart. If you have triggers, it is not recommended.

The premise is interesting.. In a land where women are scarce, our heroine has hidden her identity her entire life. Born as a female with an older sister, the mom decided to raise her as a boy to spare her the horrors of being female. Females are raped and have no power.
She and her sister are royals. Their parents died, and their uncle is King. He easily barter's the older sister to random men. He ends up selling her to the Beasts, shiftshapers that take on a beast form. Our heroine goes along with the Beasts to protect the sister.
They are slaves in this new land. Aekeira was aquired as a sex slave to satiate their previous King, Daemon. He lost his human form to save his people. He no longer has control and is in a ferel state and usually kills all the sex slaves. Aekeira is the first exception. She survived because Daemon scents Emerial on her arm while he is raping her.
The storyline gets really predictable once they are in the land of the Beasts and it moves SO SLOW!!!
Daemon meets Em, gets obsessed. Saves her a couple times. One of the high lords develops an obsession with AeKeira. Daemon finally shifts back to human form... end of book 1.

This book has me very conflicted. I definitely had to take a very big step back when reading this, it's honestly a rape/torture book. And if you're uncomfortable with that I highly recommend you don't read this. The world the characters live in was quite frankly disgusting. Women were nothing more than....holes. the men get off on power and torture and abuse in the worst ways. And all of it was described and downright encouraged in this story. All of which left a nasty taste in my mouth. I'm still not sure why authors who are trying to write in the extreme always feel like abuse in the worst ways towards women is always the answer. But it's really not necessary.

5/5!! MUST READ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I recently finished reading The Princess in a Prince Disguise series by Kiss Leilani, and overall it was definitely a rollercoaster. Books 1 and 2 completely had me hooked from the start. There was always something happening, the storyline was exciting, and it kept me wanting to keep reading! I literally stayed up till 3 AM reading and had to work at 8 AM lol 🫣 The twists, drama, and character interactions made those first two books really hard to put down.
However, around book 3 I started struggling to stay interested. It felt like there was so much happening at once that the story started to feel repetitive, and I found myself waiting for things to finally get to a clear point. By the time I got to book 4, I slowly started losing interest and unfortunately couldn’t finish it ☹️ I think the series may have become too stretched out, with multiple storylines happening at the same time, which made it harder to stay connected for me 😣
Even though I didn’t finish the last book, I still truly enjoyed the beginning of the series and I’m glad I gave it a chance. Books 1 and 2 alone made the journey worth it because they had me invested and excited to see what happened next. I hope the series ended well for the characters because I definitely cared about them by the time I stopped reading! ⭐️

This feels like it was written by AI. Or written by a Catholic school girl trying to be naughty (before the internet). It’s clearly meant to be racy, however, it uses words like private parts, crotch, and manhood, womanhood. And for some reason, the author’s idea of arousal is an itching sensation. The author likes to go back-and-forth referring to Emeriel as he or she, it was a bad choice to refer to Emeriel as he when rubbing “her” clitoris trying to get off. The author can’t make a decision on which pronoun she wants to use for Emeriel. Even with third-party observation, the pronouns change back-and-forth. It is frustrating. Emeriel wishes she could be a girl, wear dresses and not have to hide so why would her internal thoughts use he/him pronouns? This isn’t an identity that Emeriel wants but requires to survive. And yet when Emeriel’s sister, Aekeira, has internal thoughts about Emeriel, it is most often “she” pronouns. But not consistently. By the end, I wish the author got help writing this book because the storyline is decent but the writing deserved three stars. If the writing was better, I probably would’ve given the book five stars. The authors use of “huh?” often is annoying. Though this is fantasy, I’m just wondering if those with a monarchy are cringing at the lack of royal protocols.

Not great but not bad either
I’d actually rate this more 3.75-4 stars. My reasoning being is although this a dark themed book with many TW’s, it was way too repetitive. The repetitiveness took away more of the plot, and the story, it was getting a little too exhausting. To the point that it didn’t bother me anymore like yup here we go again, let’s get this over with. I had to skip a lot to get to the end. There’s not much world building at all. Some descriptions of rooms but that’s about it. Plus, I didn’t like the way we portrayed Em whom is a girl hiding as a boy but their POV was him/he. I don’t understand why the author kept writing “he knew” “he is” etc… we all know she is a girl, the character knows she is a girl, she wants to live as a girl. Stop confusing me with “he/him” 🤣🤣 but that’s just me. Plus Cliffhanger!!
Anyways, I hardly call this a Romance. Like not at all. The only remote feeling of love is being forced by “a connection”. There’s more abuse and r**e than anything, there’s also human/non-human sex. The TW’s are all on the authors website. So be warned, it’s not fluffy at all. Strangely enough though, I want to keep going lol.

I’m really not sure what to say on this one.
I can’t believe I actually kept reading. It is not written well. I felt like I was reading something that a teenager wrote. Very much wattpad writing. It has so many issues. The head hopping was so annoying. We would be in one person‘s mind and then suddenly be in somebody else’s. Just whatever was convenient for the author. But of course that wasn’t even close to the only issue. It could’ve used a few more passes of edits for sure. And yet it still kept me entertained. Knowing how badly it was written, I’m a little embarrassed to say that, but even through all its flaws, I kept reading. So I have to give it four stars. I’ve read books that are much better written but boring as hell. This one at least wasn’t boring.
I’m a little upset about the ending and I almost knocked a star off for that but I’ve rated too many much worse books three stars. So I don’t think it’s fair to put this book in the same position. I have to end up giving it four stars. Overall, I enjoyed it even with so many issues.

The author warned me. Multiple times. In writing. I saw the warnings, acknowledged them, and proceeded anyway because I needed to know , that’s on me, I accept full responsibility.
Was I prepared? No. Could I have been? Also no, some things just have to be experienced to be understood, even when the person who created it is standing at the door going “are you SURE.”
I went in out of morbid curiosity and morbid curiosity was indeed served. I skimmed a lot, I still know too much, the timeline was 24 hours and I will not be discussing the implications of that. To the author: you tried, the warnings were there, I just thought I was built different and I was not. To anyone else eyeing this series: the warnings are real, they are not decorative, heed them or don’t but you cannot say nobody told you. I don’t regret it exactly. I just need a moment.
