Harry, buddy, that A.I. is a problem and you should definitely consider changing it ASAP before you use all those weapons on yourself instead of others.
I don't know who's more messed up, Harry, who wants to save lives, but has his father living in his head, or Gwen, who is one of the 5 Mysterios. Can't spoil who the other two are, but wow.
Things are starting to ramp up as Harry and Gwen make their first move against kingpin. It’s interesting to see Gwen take charge here, this version is just as hot but kinda scary. Norman’s voice still in Harry’s armor spells bad news.
Fantastic continuation of the new Gwen reveal, it maintains the intrigue provided by the last issue and moves the plot forward, I only wish it was moving a little faster. I shouldn’t be complaining though, I’ll take as much of this run of Spider-Man as I can get. I also got the Ivan Talavera variant for this issue, if you haven’t seen that then look it up! Some of the best MJ cover art I’ve seen in a while.
Ultimate Spider-Man #17 is a riveting character study that shifts the spotlight—and the stakes. Harry Osborn returns from the presumed dead alongside Gwen, as the couple forges a powerful alliance with Mysterio and Kingpin, setting the stage for a brewing war among the Sinister Six. The issue dives deep into Harry’s emotional growth, his bond with Peter, and Gwen’s increasingly pivotal role. Messina’s art captures the drama and tension perfectly, while Hickman lays intricate groundwork with shocking revelations and bold world-building.
A side-character-driven chapter that feels more like Mr. & Mrs. Osborn than a Spider-Man tale—in the best way possible.
We learn not only some of the machinations of the various Mysterios but we also learn a few more identities of these Mysterios as well. Otto needs some expensive equipment and a mission more or less goes off as planned. Peter hears a voice on the phone he never thought to hear again while he Hides out with his family asking him to come back to NYC. Things are ramping up in a big way. And it doesn’t bother me that Spider-man isn’t even in the issue because Hickman writes such great supporting characters.
Basically a Gwen and Harry issue that revolved around them working together. I really love the idea of Gwen being Mysterio and seeing how Harry is still bewildered by the thought of it. Also, the whole Harry and Norman dynamic is so unsettling, but also fits how much of a dick Norman was
Ultimate Spider-Man issue #17 was another good entry in what's been a long-running series so far. While it felt more like a building block than offering big reveals or anything too special, the last page definitely hooked me for what's coming next. I'd give it a 3.5 out of 5.
Ca pourrait n’être qu’un tome de transition, mais Marvel creuse ses marottes habituelles: rapport à la famille et moyens à mettre en oeuvre (violence ou non) pour lutter contre le crime. Un peu rapide cependant
A good continuation from the last issue, kind of wrapping it up a setting a new stage. I like Gwen’s characterization, and the overall book is very tense. Not sure anybody is trustworthy.
Harry and Gwen are clearly evil. They’re causing mayhem behind the scenes. Harry reveals himself to Ben, and ultimately to Peter as being alive. Also, Robbie is in on Mysterio.
