Hope’s Cape of Courage by Heather McGlauflin is a children’s book about a joyful, perceptive girl who creates a village for the fairies she believes live in the woods. After someone destroys the village and leaves her hurt, Hope retreats from the world. Her recovery begins when she returns to the woods, rebuilds what was broken, and chooses love and forgiveness over anger.
The story gives difficult emotions real weight. Hope’s bitterness changes how she sees everything, and her eventual return to the fairy village feels like a meaningful act of courage. The fairies explain the book’s ideas quite directly, with lessons about wounded people, gratitude, unconditional love, and giving others better treatment than we’ve received. That approach makes this picture book especially suited to shared reading, since its bigger concepts invite conversation between children and adults.
Sawyer’s hand-drawn illustrations carry much of the emotional journey. Hope’s early world glows with sunny yellows, lively greens, flowers, tiny fairy dwellings, and playful details involving her cat, Remus. When grief takes hold, the pictures shift into gray and black, with heavy clouds and stark spaces surrounding Hope. Color gradually returns as she begins healing, culminating in bright gold light and the sweeping pink cape. The visual progression makes her inner transformation easy to follow.

I would rate the story as 4/5 as The story “ Hope ‘s cape of Courage “ revolves around the children story that taught us to be remain calm and patient during the difficult time of life.The story was the great art of work of our author Heather McGlauffin,Jean Sawyer. The author said when there is hope,there is life so the person shouldn’t lose his hope for ever .hope can change the life of any person through strength and courage one can gain wisdom .
The author draws a very vivid picture of hope,courage,strength,wisdom all are related to each other .there we finds a reality which men and women faces in their life .so there is no negative points .
The title of the story was appropriate as the story relates with a young girl named Hope ,dancing ,rejoicing with her forest friends fairies,who knew magic and changes the life of little girl making her happy .some people might be jealous of hope’s happiness.but no one can spoil girls life when there is courage and strength to face .
One day ,Hope was playing with her car Remus,near the woodsof village an idea came to her mind to build a house for fairies, But when a shadow moves over the village and destroys her magical creation, an angry Hope decides she will never love anyone .

so she lost completely gave up hope but in the story the author gives a metamorphic picture that hope never dies when there there is strength and courage to face the reality and changes everything .so at last the girl realised her mistake and learnt to forgive everyone.

Hope lives with her parents and her cat Remus. Hope loves to wear her favorite pink tutu, her crazy socks, and tap shoes. There is always something happening in Hope's magical world, and people in her world make her happy. (My mom used to say I hope you're happy in your little world - my head, because my mind would always wander off on some new adventure). She loves to dance. Hopes parents made her a stage. How amazing is that?
Hope always has a way of making others feel kind and special. She would soon learn that you will come across people who will be envious of that. (The world is full of jealous people. Never let people change who you are.) While in the forest , she heard a voice say, " fairies need homes." ( A child with a great imagination). Hope built a village. It is Unbeknown that someone who is jealous of Hope was watching. A dark shadow appears, and Hope blacks out for a short moment. When Hope awakes, she finds the village destroyed and becomes angry. Someone had intentionally hurt her and her friends. She became angry and didn't want to love again.
In the following days, Hope has a dream, and her fairy friends visit her to convince her not to let evil win.
