Wicked Winds (Bonus Book) Pulp Friction 2014

Rate this book
Wick Templeton and Ned Harris have grown quite comfortable in the life they've built together. So comfortable—in fact—that when Ned decided to go cross country to check on an old friend of his, Wick can't bear to be apart from him and tags along.

Yeah, that's the story Wick gives. In reality, Wick doesn't share and he just wants to make sure this old friend understands that.

Three days to spend not jealously watching over his lover's every move—at a campground in Flagstaff, Arizona, no less. How much trouble could Wick possibly find?

What have you done to me, Havan Fellows?

This book was epic. That's the only word I can use to describe it, and even that seems weak. Wick meets Rowe. Rowe does something to Wick (and Wick deserved it). Wick does something to Rowe (and after what Rowe did to Ned, he deserves it). Ned is the logical one. Well, some things never change.

OMG. I think I need more.

Oh Baby, Havan Fellows this newest Bonus Book Wicked Winds you have written reduced me to mush… all my expectations for this were exceeded to the max.…Reading this newest story, my mind raced as it had e.v.e.r.y.t.h.i.n.g .

Trying to write a rational review is difficult after the scorching read, so I will start first with Wick. I hope everyone remembers this brilliant man from Atlanta, Pulp Friction 2013, along with his lover Ned. Our author brought them to Flagstaff to check out an old friend of Ned’s and a drop in to see Cannon. It was great to again have the repartee with their IT guy Banyu ever present in their ears.

Even though we got to see most of the gang at Mountain Shadows and learn some important secrets that we were aching to learn, Wick stole the show. His internal dialogue was my downfall and added the much needed humor for the seriousness of what we learned.

Wick’s mental names for the inhabitants at the campground: Curley Sue, Badass. Ginger and Tarzan were soooo perfect, I about died laughing. As always, Wick can come up with a myriad of sexual ideas to shower upon Ned and the steamy scenes inside and outside of the bedrooms about burned up my Ipad.

I cannot imagine what the outcome of this visit has done to the residents of the campgrounds and cannot wait for Havan’s next in her book 4 which should be out shortly and we can see what this visit has done as the dust finally settles literally. As always it keeps you wanting to go back for more as these four talented authors Laura Harner, Lee Brazil, Tom Webb and Havan Fellows just love to torture their readers.

These Pulp Friction 2014 bonus books are killing me, I tell you, killing me. It's such a phenomenal idea to have the characters I love so much from PF 2013 popping up in Flagstaff. Although I do have to admit that the oh so evil Ms. Havan Fellows, has outdone herself with this book. I mean, seriously? Who doesn't love Wicked Templeton? And Rowen Smithe?

When Ned tells Wick that he has to travel to Flagstaff to check up on someone, Wick isn't about to let his lover go meet with anyone without him. Although why on earth Wick could possibly think Ned was looking at any other man, when the sex between them is off the charts, is beyond me. (Psst, way to go Havan on the sex scenes. Scorching!) Wick doesn't take too kindly to Rowen threatening them with a crossbow, so in typical Wick fashion, he… Oh, wait, I can't tell you. But leave it to a Wick to inspire anger from every resident at Mountain Shadows! The names that Wick comes up with to call them are so apt I was giggling at every turn, i.e., Curly Sue, Badass, Tarzan, and Ginger.

Havan has outdone herself with this bonus book and I sure wish it was longer. I can never get enough of Wicked. Never.

While Wicked Winds is an extra for Pulp Friction 2014, I think it is an integral part of the series. You gain a lot of background on Rowen here. So, do yourself a favor and read it before moving onto Blown Chance.

I definitely need to read last year's Pulp Friction. I suspect that this story, or rather the characters, will make more sense with some background. It was still pretty good even without that background.

And I think Rowen talks more here than the last dozen years combined. It's a sight to behold.

Holy Moly ! Holy Smoke! Holy Cow! Ned is going to Arizona to check on his ex Rowan, and jealous Wick is not letting him go alone. This has one of the hottest sex scenes ever! If that isn't enough, we get Rowan's back story.

Hooray for us, we get two of the quirkiest lovable characters ever in the same story. I give it the whole state of Arizona full of stars. Yeehaw!

Can I have more hearts please? I LOOOOOVVVVVVED this book.
This is the third bonus book in the Pulp Friction 2014 collection. In case you don’t know what the pulp Friction Collection is it is 4 authors that each have a series that sort of blends with the others. Each series is set in Mountain Shadows campgrounds in Flagstaff. Each series can be read alone, but works better if you read the entire collection in order for full impact. Each Author has included a bonus book this year also.
Haven’s Bonus brings us more Wick. In case you haven’t read any of last year’s pulp friction you should read Wicked Ways. I absolutely loved this book, but I may be biased since I adored Wick so much.
Ned is going to Mountain shadows to check on a friend. Wick is tagging along on the pretext of watching Ned’s back but in a way he may be a bit jealous since Ned isn’t divulging anything. Al he is saying is that when Banyu checked on the Cannon situation for Chance he noticed a friend was there he needed to see about.
This story is full of action, and some hot sex, from the trip to Mountain shadows, to the very end. I love how it is almost like watching a movie the descriptions are so good.
If you like sarcastic, full of them self, sexy and dangerous men, burn the page man-sex, drama, suspense, and super-secret agents this book is for you.

A Joyfully Jay review.

Wicked Templeton is Atlanta’s badass motherfucker with a heart of pure gold. Okay, well, it’s not exactly pure, but there’s gold there. Quite possibly one of my favorite characters of all time, I was ecstatic that Wick would be part of Flagstaff and the Mountain Shadows cast for however brief a time. And yes, Ned’s here too in all his calm, level-headed glory, keeping an eye on Wick and taking names.

Ahh… this author had me going for a minute. I refuse to give you the juiciest of details, but I was teetering on the edge of a breakdown at the mere thought of no Wick and Ned, because let’s face it, Wick as awesome as he is, needs Ned as much as Ned needs him. But my anxiety attack in the midst of this story is a very minor detail compared to the other happenings. This happy addition to Pulp Friction 2014 is a critical tale in Rowen’s history, and kids, has Rowen got a sordid past and terrible story to tell. All the better to love him for, I say.

'Wicked Winds' felt like a quick stop over to check in on Ned and Wick. Now if you've read my reviews for the Pulp Friction series than you know I adore Wick. We're talking seriously adore this character. He is hard-core badass, but also unflinchingly loyal and when he does something he goes full tilt. Whether he hates your or he loves you there's no mistaking how Wick feels about things.

So needless to say when I discovered there was a new story about Wick, I was quick with the credit card and Wick was mine. Was it as long as I would have liked...no, but I'm not sure that any story about Wick is ever going to be long enough to make me happy. What did make me happy though was the ending or should I say the possibilities that the ending left for there to be more...yes, more Wick, more Ned and Wick. After all there can never be enough Wicked Templeton in my world.

And in case your wondering, yes I am purring like a happy kitten right now.

OMG I have to grovel at the feet of Havan Fellows in complete adoration for the characters in this little novella: Rowen and Wick.

In an explosive (literally) meeting, Wick shoots Rowen for shooting an arrow at.......and then we get (for me) unmanageable tears, and laughter. Tears for Rowen, and for all he's gone through (already thought PTSD, but THIS is worse!); and laughter for Wick who applies his snarky, sarcastic wit to deal with his own problems as well as Rowen's. But there are tears for Wick too, where we see a little of his insecurity.

The skill, with which this little story is written, is totally outstanding, and is incomparable.
So many, many thanks to Havan for making me laugh and cry at the same time! Wonderful!

Holy Hell, this was a hot one!! That car scene......**coughs**, moving swiftly on...Wick and Ned have gone to Flagstaff to see Rowen for reasons which will become clear.

Lots of background info about Rowen and how the Organisation tried to get rid of him in this instalment (most of it extremely unpleasant), and we are clued in as to why he is like he is...poor guy. Wick is jealous as hell of what little relationship Ned had with Rowen when they worked together, and his temper tantrums lead to some more scorching sex between 'Wick, honey' and 'Neddy, baby'...**snort**.

We finish the story with Wick actually admitting that he's in love with Ned (yay!!) AND Rowen discovering that he just might have found the family he's never had with the good folks at Mountain Shadows campground. 4.5 stars from me. No such thing as too much Wick!!

From that review: "This is a short story and almost anything I can say about the plot falls into spoiler territory as the shocks start immediately when we find out just who Ned's friend and partner was. Didn't see that one coming. The implications are huge for all and the guns and knives are out the minute Wick's opens the doors on his and Ned's rental car…"

Wow! This is the longest, most scorching (car scene w/Wick and Ned!!!), most fast paced and exciting read of the series--and it's a bonus book! It's also a highly relevant bonus, revealing info I've been curious about since the first Rowe/Mick story.

Love, love, love this book--oh, and the series too, of course!
