Desired By The Lumberjack: Sexy Lumbersnacks Series

Rate this book
LAUREL

I shouldn't have been out on the road that night. I knew it, my co-workers knew it. My mother definitely knew it. But when I believe in something, I will stop at nothing to do what needs to be done. And the shelter I interned at last summer needs the charitable donation my boss promised to make. At least until he decided that a ski trip was more important and took off without signing the final paperwork.

Which is why I was creeping up an unfamiliar mountain road, went around a curve and slid into a tree. I'm fine, but my car isn't, and help is a long, cold, hike away.

Until a man pulls up and offers me a ride. He's big, grouchy and irritated, but there's a warmth hiding behind his defenses. And maybe, just maybe, the heat I see in his eyes means something I never expected.

MERRITT

I came to this mountain to get away from people and their constant need to hurry through their lives. All the racing around and constant pressure chased me away from the city to the peace of a home surrounded by nature.

Finding a stranded woman in the middle of a snowstorm, I do the decent thing and offer her a lift into town. But when she has nowhere to stay and refuses to leave without accomplishing the task that brought her here, I find myself opening up my own home to this stranger.

It's supposed to be a temporary situation. Wait out the storm, get her car fixed, and send her on her way. The only problem is, the more time we spend together, the less I want her to leave.

I'm nobody's hero. But maybe, just maybe, I could be hers.

Desired by the Lumberjack is a grumpy/sunshine, curvy woman, mountain man, small town romance where the wounded veteran hero falls first. It's a short instalove romance with no cheating and a guaranteed HEA. It's part of the Sexy Lumbersnacks series, featuring standalone books from 15 of your favorite steamy instalove romance authors!

Sometimes love doesn’t arrive with flowers or fireworks—it crashes into a tree on a dark mountain road and shows up shivering on your doorstep.

Laurel is driven by compassion. She’s the kind of woman who will risk a late-night mountain drive in bad weather just to make sure a donation reaches a struggling animal shelter. When her car skids off the road and she’s stranded in the middle of a snowstorm, help arrives in the form of Merritt—a towering, gruff, broad-shouldered lumberjack who’d rather be left alone than deal with anyone’s chaos.

Their first meeting is all frost and friction. Merritt’s quiet mountain life doesn’t leave room for stranded do-gooders with stubborn streaks and city determination. But Laurel’s warmth seeps into the cracks of his solitude, and soon his cabin isn’t just a place of refuge—it’s a spark waiting to catch fire.

As they share space (and simmering tension), Laurel’s determination to do good in the world reignites something in Merritt he thought he’d buried—hope. She’s chaos in bright mittens, he’s calm in flannel and flannel again, and together, they find something neither of them were looking for: belonging.

Kelsea Fox’s storytelling shines in the quiet moments—the crackle of the fire, the hesitant touches, the way Merritt’s protectiveness turns into something tender and consuming. Laurel’s optimism doesn’t just thaw his heart; it reminds him that kindness and connection are worth the risk.

By the time the snow melts, both have to face the question they’ve been avoiding: is this temporary—or is it home?

Desired by the Lumberjack is a cozy, steamy, emotionally rich read that wraps you in flannel and faith in second chances. It’s about a woman who won’t stop believing in good, and a man who learns that love doesn’t have to mean losing yourself—it can mean finding where you truly belong.

If you adore grumpy/sunshine, snowed-in intimacy, cinnamon roll lumberjacks, and heroines with hearts too big for the world, this story will melt you faster than a fire on a cold winter night.

WOW!! Fab*u*lous Absolutely love this one!! I couldn't put this one down. This was a nice quick, short read.

Merritt and Laurel met when she gets into an accident during a snow storm. Merritt just happened to be driving and sees Laurel's headlights hit a tree. Merritt helps Laurel out of her car and puts her into his truck. When Laurel wakes up she's in a comfortable bed with high beams. Merritt is there to let her know she's alright. Merritt asks Laurel is she's hungry, they sit at the tiny table bumping into one another Laurel tells Merritt the reason she was on the mountain road during a snow storm. Laurel's boss promised to donate to a charity she feels passionate about. Laurel's boss didn't sign the check and she needs to get it to the charity by the weekend. While Merritt is talking to Laurel's her lips brush against his, and she tells him she wouldn't mind kissing him Merritt starts kissing Laurel, then he tells her they need to stop. Merritt makes it clear that Laurel doesn't have to do anything she doesn't want to do. Laurel tells Merritt she wants him, so he takes her to his bedroom where he pleasures her then they make love. Laurel wakes up to Merritt rubbing her back, then they take a shower together. Merritt tells Laurel to get dressed they need to leave soon. Laurel asks where they're going. Merritt tells Laurel that he's taking her to get her check signed. When they arrive at the resort Laurel walks into the room and gets her boss to sign the check. When they leave Merritt gets Laurel to a fax machine and the documents are sent. On the way back to Merritt's cabin he tells her he had her car towed but she tells him she could have done that. Merritt pulls over and tells Laurel that he wants to take care of her because he loves her. Laurel tells Merritt she loves him too. Two years later Merritt expanded the cabin to include an office for Laurel. Laurel left her job in the city three months after her accident and moved in with Merritt. Laurel now works at the charity she loves so much. Laurel is pregnant and they will soon have a son, Gabe. Merritt knows he has the most important things in the world his family.

"Desired by the Lumberjack" by Kelsea Fox is a delightful addition to the Sexy Lumbersnacks Series that truly charms with its heartfelt romance, authentic characters, and cozy mountain setting. WHOA, talk about stumbling into a ready-made HEA. Good for Laurel!

🪓🪵

POV:
You’ve GOT to get to your boss—before this storm takes you out—and get his signature! This donation could make a world of difference to both animals and veterans in need.
So, in what may not be the smartest move of your life, you go for it.

Fortunately when you wreck, a large, grumpy but chivalrous mountain man finds you and …

Well, you can imagine the rest—but don’t! Totally read this book, it’s super sweet. This is a very steamy, and very sweet read—if you’re looking for a plot, but also lots of steam; relative to the size of the book, I’d rate it pretty high on the ‘pepper’ scale.

❄️🌲❤️ Snowstorm, small town charm, and a lumberjack with a heart of gold ❄️🌲❤️

Desired by the Lumberjack delivers everything I love about cozy mountain romances with a dash of winter magic. Laurel’s determination and big heart pulled me in right away — she’s the kind of heroine who doesn’t back down when something matters, even if it lands her stranded in a snowstorm. Enter Merritt, the rugged, quiet mountain man who just wants peace… until fate puts Laurel in his path.

Their instant connection is tender, a little vulnerable, and truly sweet. Merritt’s protective, gentle nature — paired with Laurel’s optimism and fire — makes their chemistry feel warm and comforting like hot cocoa on a snowy day. Watching him slowly open up and realize he wants more than solitude made this story especially heart-melting.

This short read is the perfect blend of grumpy-sunshine, snowy setting, found shelter, and heartfelt attraction, all wrapped up with a satisfying happily ever after. A wonderful treat for anyone who enjoys small-town charm, strong heroines, and heroes who fall hard once they let someone in.

I totally need this book in paperback! When I read the synopsis and saw it was about Laurel and Merritt, I just had to grab it. After meeting this awesome couple in "Coveted by the Mountain Man," I really hoped the author would write their story. And wow, she totally delivered.

While I was reading, I kept thinking that if Laurel hadn't decided to go to the resort, she might not have had that accident and gotten rescued by Merritt. You know how they say things happen for a reason.

What I loved most about this book was how open Merritt was about his feelings for Laurel, how he took care of her the second he found her, and how he just put his heart out there, no regrets. Laurel did the same. Their chemistry was off the charts, the spice was super spicy, and the love was just overflowing. It was so great to see how Merritt and Laurel met and found their happily ever after. I'd totally read this one again.

Great Story to End this Series!!

I absolutely loved this. I’ve loved all of the characters and their storylines so much. Laurel travels in a blizzard up the mountain and crashes her car. She was trying to get to the Timber Ridge Creek Lodge so her boss could sign a donation document for Rescue and Restoration. A Shelter that helps Animals and Vets that are having a difficult time acclimating to life after war. Merritt, Lumberjack, Medic and Investor is the one who opens up her door to see if she is okay after the crash. She’s disoriented and he ends up carrying her as she falls asleep to his truck. He knows he wouldn’t make it down the mountain to the hospital so he turns his truck around and goes to his cabin. He lays her down in his bed asleep and… 😊😊😊😊😊💜💜💜💜💜🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰

Lumber snack indeed by MeemsAngel82

I absolutely love that term. A snack, a lumberjack. Fitting, lol! This was s cute read with a man who doesn't necessarily do people and a determined lady getting herself in danger because of a good cause.

She got stuck in a dangerous situation and her very own mountain man comes to the rescue.

I do wish they had more time together but if you want a quick read this mountain man story is right on time. The two had some great chemistry and I love that both are into helping. There is a lot people can do to make this world better and it doesn't have to be monetary. Kindness can cost you nothing for example. They make a great match.

This is sweet and steamy love story.

Laurel is on her way to find her boss when she is stranded in the mountain, and that is how she meets Emmit. He has isolated himself from the world, but he is captivated by her the moment he sees her. He brings her home to keep until the weather get better, but her sweet disposition, his attraction, and the close proximity will bring them together in explosive passion.

HE knows she is it for him, and after hearing her story of why she was stranded, he decides to open up completely to her.

THis is a short sweet story!!.

This is such a good read for the length of book I was surprised and impressed with how much I got a feel for Laurel and Merritt, their personalities and just overall background..totally different walks of life that suddenly run into each other. I just love how they meet …talk about adorable! ❤️ They have a pretty instant connection but it’s subtle in a refreshing way that they actually talk and get to know each other first ..very tasteful! This is a story about finding your person at the most unexpected time.l think this is a good “break book” if you are wanting a break in between big books.

Stretching Won’t Help With This!
Incredible. Laurel needs to get her boss to sign some papers before the weekend ends. Ones that he should have signed before he left. Unfortunately for her, the blizzard hits sooner than expected and she spins off the mountain road. Merritt finds her and takes Laurel back to his cabin. It’s the only safe route on the mountain. He puts in his bed to sleep after she passes out. Now, he wants to find a way to keep her there. Forever.

This was a quick and engaging read with a charming small-town romance vibe. The plot is pretty simple and not unusual, but the chemistry between Laurel and Merritt is warm and appealing, and while the story keeps things relatively light, it flows smoothly and remains entertaining throughout.

Overall, it’s an enjoyable romance with a cozy feel and a premise that keeps you turning the pages. I've been enjoying books from this set of the Lumbersnacks series - short sexy stories of lumberjacks. I've also discovered some new authors from the previous series, some of which I enjoyed a lot. I'll definitely be reading more from this series!.

Quick and spicy is a good description for this book. The MMC rescues the FMC from a crash in a snowstorm. Then he helps her get what she was driving in the storm for. That’s where their story starts. Great spice and sweet HEA.
