Her family took something precious to me and now I'm going to take their most precious possession from them. The problem is that I've become addicted. I've been watching, and waiting for the perfect time to take her and make her mine. She won't have a choice. Her purpose is now to replace what they took from me and I'm going to enjoy making them pay.
A dark mafia romance with an unhinged, possessive hero!

Emilio’s Addiction By Indi Marie is the final book in the Devious series and my favorite so far! This story follows Serena (Marcello and Gio’s sister) as she is trying to be an independent career woman who owns a wedding planning business- and is waiting/avoiding her brothers to arrange her marriage to some mafia leader in the future. Serena is a bad$ss without being a black cat FMC. She is funny and defends herself no matter what she goes through she preserves without becoming resentful or bitter (keep her away from scissors and forks, lol). Emilio wants to use Serena to get revenge on her family and ends up obsessed. This story has action, dark romance aspects, suspense and a hard fought HEA with lots of spicy scenes. Love the cameos with Gio and Marcelo’s family. Check the authors TW before reading. There are a few tough subjects.
Tropes- Enemies to lovers, revenge, forced marriage, mafia/cartel, Pregnancy, $talking, unhinged and jealous MMC, kidnapping x2
“What started as revenge and hate transformed into something more - a feeling that consumes me and occupies my every waking moment. My obsession has spiraled into addiction.” — Emilio
I love Indi Marie and Gio + Marcello's books were so good, so I expected Emilio's Addiction to be just as amazing. But unfortunately I DNF at 65% 😭
This one just seemed to be all over the place, I felt like I was reading and missing parts. Like the book was trying to gaslight me 😵😵
For Example: One minute the FMC can't leave the house and then it skips to weeks later and she's visiting her brother? The brother who she's been trying to escape too? And she just chats with him and leaves?! Then the MMC says he is going to slit her throat and kill her, then on the next page he loves her and she doesn't even question him threatening her like this?!
I loved the tropes and I loved the OTT-ness of the MMC, but having to go back and re-read pages as I thought I missed parts, wore me out. And I started to question myself and my own sanity.
The book just jumped through scenes too quickly for me and was too choppy, so I was left baffled by this 😞
Like I mentioned above I love Indi Marie's previous books, so don't write them all off.
I like a good revenge trope just as much as I like a forced marriage. I've been teased and waiting months for this book and it was everything I was hoping it would be. That man is FINE! 😍
DNFed both of them were jarring and the FMC was a typical doormat with no backbone I got second hand embarrassment with how she was acting what do you mean I will embroidery my name on all his underwears as a revenge so any whore he fucks knows that he is married like that would fucking matter after he kidnapped you drugged you and also raped you and when you tried to escape he banded his name on you with hot metal rod that is the best you can come with.
And what do you mean lying to your brothers to avoid war like bitch its there fault that you were targeted in the first place. Got I am so mad rn why did i even picked this book. 😭😭😭😭
Easily Indi’s best yet! It’s all the obsessed stalking, kidnapping, and forced marriage that her mafia MMC’s are notorious for taken to new complicated heights as Emilio’s addiction to Serena is at odds with his need for revenge on her family and his plan to use her as the match that lit the flame in a mafia war, it adds a new element when no matter how much she tells herself she’s not, Serena is equally obsessed, just as possessive, and totally willing to pull a gun on a girl if she doesn’t back off her man, and then it just devastates you with how close Emilio and Serena come to losing it all, and it’s good, it’s really, REALLY good. I love seeing authors as they grow in their writing and this one feels like Indi finding her groove! This is hands down THE book in her author career that gets you on a gut level and gives you that emotional connection with her characters that take this from a good time stalker romance, which I love and am a huge fan of, to a novel that has depth, invests you completely in the plot and the relationship between the characters, and delivers a story that you’re still thinking about days after your done. It has that dark mafia vibe, it has that so wrong but it feels so right thing, lots of touch her and die, and Emilio sitting by her bedside day after day, manning up and coming clean with his original intensions and how his feelings have changed, his man to man sit down with her brothers and willingness to own his mistakes and work towards what’s best for his wife, total chokehold, all the swoon, and so fantastic.
Okay, well, I finished it but I was hanging by a thread with the whiplash this book gave me. It was choppy and missing things off and on. Some scenes dragged on and others were on fast forward. The relationship felt like I was reading two different books and lacked a lot of necessary scene building. We go from normal conversations to "I screamed" this/that at him/her but it didn't "feel" like the tone or scene matched that. The nurse at the doctor's office repeatedly flirts with Emilio even in front of his wife, says disrespectful things about the wife's body, after being told to stop more than once and instead of just offing her like they should have, the wife eventually puts a gun to her head and threatens her. Then the wife says "my mama didn't raise no b*tch" but in other scenes she's a sensitive emotional crybaby. The only part of this book that felt even close to being believable was the traumatic birth story the author drew from experience. Most everything else felt awkward and disjointed. Parts of this book felt like they were written by a teenager and other parts, an adult.
Woah. Well freaking done, Indi! This was incredible. Emilio was everything I could want in a MMC. He was obsessed and possessive of Serena. It all started out as revenge, but he quickly became obsessed. Serena was my favorite heroine from Indi so far. She was an absolute badass. She gave Emilio a run for his money. She fought and fought and drove him up a wall. I loved it. I loved that they both didn't have all the warm, fuzzy feelings for each other at first. Yet their chemistry was off the charts hot from the start. From the cover showing my favorite cover model to the end, I was captured. I couldn't put it down. The way their relationship evolved and turned into love was absolutely perfect. And the end was so heartwarmingly excellent.
I received a complimentary copy and am voluntarily leaving my honest review.
Oh boy… she did it again, dragged me through every possible emotion, from laughing to crying and all of that curtesy of Emilio and Serena. I was waiting for Serena’s story, I was wondering how Indi saw her life mapped out. I wasn’t disappointed. Serena is little spitfire, she does know how to keep Emilio on his toes, even after everything she has been through, she is full of life. I loved all the books in this series and I definitely wasn’t disappointed with this one. Mind you, check the trigger warning at the beginning, as there is a chance some may find it’s not for them. I won’t be spoiling the plot here as I feel I would rob readers of the joy and that special feeling when you discover there is another twist in the story. So go, read it yourself!
I think this is my favourite book of the series so far. The main character, Emilio, is set on revenge and Serena plays a key part in his plans. However, not all is as it appears and misconceptions and secrets are gradually revealed. The relationship between Emilio and Serena is fiery but develops throughout the book. I was pleased to see characters from the previous two books in the series make an appearance in this book. Also, that they have a role to play too and not just a fleeting appearance. Although it isn’t necessary to have read the previous books in the series, I would recommend doing so as characters and events are mentioned.
Oh my, this man is fire!! I have to say that Emilio is definitely meant to be part of the family! He is so possessive and completely consumed by his addiction to Serena! The push and pull between them as well as Emilio's back and forth within himself kept me glued to the pages. Once he realizes he needs Serena like he needs air, things get even more intense. One thing that I absolutely loved was how Serena gave Emilio a run for his money. And can we talk about Serena's possessiveness when it comes to Emilio? She is definitely related to Gio and Marcello, no doubt. If you love j/p heroes and the strong women who fall under their spell, get your hands on this book and the whole trilogy!
Delivering once again on crazy hot OTT stalker psycho MMC. Honestly these stories could be crap and the MMC’s are good enough to save them. Fortunately the story and writing are solid make this book a great read. I like Serena a lot but didn’t really get his pet name for her the character didn’t seem to fit. This book is broken into three parts almost like an incredibly short trilogy. I would have preferred for the book to be more intertwined with the subplots all running together. There are a couple plot holes, but honestly who cares this book is hot 🥵 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️
Started amazing with his obsessionfell flat I loved how forceful he was but other then her sewing project she didn’t do much resistance and she fell in love with him way too quick. Like he brands her and she forgives him and falls in love with him no she has to hate him until something happens towards the end that makes her forgive him
Also him letting her go back to her job and life made no sense she is your captive act like it
Also she is a monster for doing a hit and run what a despicable human being.

Well, this book absolutely wrecked me in the most wonderful way! I have been (not so) patiently waiting for this story, and it was so much better than I could have imagined. So great, in fact, that I read it TWICE before writing this review. It was deliciously dark and steamy with a plot so fantastic that I didn't want to put it down (hence the reread)! I honestly didn't think anyone could knock Gio and Marcello off their pedestal, but then here comes Emilio storming in breaking all the rules, taking what he wants, delivering all the goods, and lighting up my heart and panties 🤣
I almost didn’t write a review, but I forgot I’d already read book one with Gio and Everly—and didn’t like it much. This time it’s Emilio and Serena (Gio’s younger sister), and while I usually enjoy a possessive, slightly unhinged hero and don’t mind stalking in my romance, I was done the moment Emilio started starving himself to match Serena’s meals. Like… why would the author think to write that? It just felt odd and unnecessary. I kept going because I rarely DNF, but even the spicy scenes didn’t make it worth it. Just meh overall.

The writing and flow of the story was better now and I love the characters. I like that the death of the antagonists wasn’t as brutal as the others because I couldn’t even blame them for the reason of their revenge, and I’d like to think that what happened to the FMC was sort of the consequence of her action. She didn’t deserve it and I’m glad she survived, but what she did to the antagonist was still wrong. I still love the ending though.
This was SUCH a rollercoaster of emotions. Please be aware of triggers, there are a few. Damn though, this was SUCH great book. I was honestly a bit concerned with how it started but damn. It played out SO well! Indi has really started to find her writing groove and her books just keep getting better and better!
LOVED IT! It’s a little bit more darker than the other books from that series but I was obsessed with Emilio. It started off as revenge but he ended up falling fast and hard for her🥹 If you like the following in your books this might be for you It has st9lking, Bc tampering, ladynapping, somno, and more!
Emilio starts off certifiably unhinged. His obsession knows no bounds. Serena is a spitfire but she doesn’t take long to give in and just roll with what her hubby did to secure her.
This is insta lust/love with non-con in the beginning. I clocked the bad guy / stalker right from the start but it didn’t take away from the overall story.
Love the craziness of this series. This book was no less wild. Deepest shade of red flags from the very beginning. Touch her and....... well you know vibes all the way through. Loved seeing the previous couples too, always a plus. Fun little psycho read
WOW. I honestly don't know what to say cause this book goes one way then twist into another direction. The way they meet, how he takes her the same way her brother took his wife is astounding. The stalker so close to home. The struggle of survival. It's all excellence. If I could give more stars I would
Not the best. Yes, I love toxic books like these, but this was honestly too much even for me. The whole first 50% is honestly pretty messed up, with nothing really connecting the characters at all besides him treating her like cattle. Once the pregnancy began, it went by super fast. Basically skipped by months to the end drama. READ THE TRIGGERS.
I think that I liked this one more than the previous two books. There were emotional bits that had me tearing up, and the fmc had me cracking up at her antics. She certainly gave the hero a run for his money, but not in an over the top way. The mystery bit felt too forced to me, and thought it could have either been cut out completely, or written differently to fit the storylines.
I'm a huge fan of Indi Marie's, and she certainly did not disappoint with her latest book. If you like hot, jealous, possessive, so far over the top that gray runs right into black obessed alphaholes, this book is for you!
I was not expecting this to be finished in a day. Really great drama, angst and spice. If you have triggers for noncon, this isn’t for you. Knowing the birth story is the author’s experience, well it is riveting.
The beginning was super spicy non con but it turned into insta love with unbelievable plot suspense and silly angst. It seemed like a totally different book.
Loved the push and pull between Emilio and Serena. Deliciously dark and possessive and not for the faint hearted, but if you're into j/p morally grey hero's this one's for you.
Book three in the Devious series. Emilio believed that his father was a good man. He believed that Serena’s family killed him. So he takes Alice for a life. He takes the princess. Only problem he can’t get her out of his mind. It’s like she’s all he can’t think about. Serena’s doesn’t want a war. So she ties to make it better and lies to her family. He crazy and red flags but she’s falling hard for this man. It started with revenge and ended up with love that never ends.
