Joy Ride
Joy Ride is a standalone novel by the ever-talented Lauren Blakely! I haven't read a book of hers I haven't fallen in love with. One of my favorite parts of her writing is the connections between her books. If you read Full Package then you might remember Chase's gear-head brother Max. Well...this is his story. He is about to sleep with the enemy and she is one talented, feisty, and sexy one...
Five years. That's how long it has been since he has laid eyes on Henley, the young and fiery woman that he fired. She was his apprentice at his Custom Car shop. And now they are enemies. She is the lead builder at his rival shop. He still finds her sexy as sin but he doesn't mix business with pleasure. It's a good thing he has no reason to go to John Smith Rides. He doesn't need the distraction in his life. But when he gets a deal of a lifetime, he is forced to work with her. To build a badass car. He knows this is a bad idea especially when he feels the spark between them. That hate/lust spark that is heated with dirty innuendos, sassy comebacks, and glances that say fuck you/fuck me behind killer eyes. Can they keep their business professional or will the distractions cause them one of their biggest clients?
I do love a great enemies to lover romance. And add in a little bit of a second chance and it's a party! Lauren has a way of making the perfect recipe with just the right amount of banter, humor, sexiness, and heart. It's something I can always count on when I open one of her books. I do love each of her books for different reasons. There is always a meaning to them. With this one I loved that Henley was not a customer, assistant, or new hire. She is an equal. She is a woman in a man's industry. She demands respect. She doesn't want to be known as the girl at the shop but as a kickass builder. She doesn't want to be treated any differently. I love that Max understands this but he also can admit that he can make mistakes as well. Together, they know they have their flaws and insecurities. But they also have that connection they can not ignore.
Overall...it's a hot, hilarious book full of sexiness, gear head talk, fun banter, and sexually charged innuendos. I laughed, teared up, and it made me want to pounce on my mechanic husband.
P.S I want to go ride in a sports car along the coast.

Hard Wood is a standalone by the amazing Lauren Blakely! At this point I think she could write a rom-com in the male POV in her sleep and it will still make the Bestsellers list. One element I love in a Lauren book is the connections. I have been waiting for this story. The story of Mia (Max and Chase’s sister) and Patrick (Evie’s brother). They met a few months ago while Mia was traveling to NY on business and staying with his friend and neighbor Max. He wanted to get to know her then and falls deeper and deeper each time he sees her...
Patrick is at the point in his life where he wants to settle down. His adventure touring business is booming. His sister and his friends have found their match and now it’s his turn. Except he knows he has found is but she is off-limits. Not because she happens to be his buddy’s sister but because she lives three-thousand miles away in San Francisco. He knows that if he gets one taste of Mia while she is visiting NY than he won’t be able to let her go. She could not be a fling. She would be his everything. He would want her in his arms every night. Pitch a tent with her on the weekends. Walk his cat Zeus on a daily basis. He doesn’t know how she feels but it would be hard to watch her get on that plane if they tried. It would hurt if it ruined what they have now. A fun and flirty friendship. Well...that friendship kicks it up a notch with one night of passion. Now what?
Mia has wanted Patrick since the moment she laid eyes on him and more and more with each visit. She likes that he is a normal guy with an easygoing attitude with a good head on his shoulders. And it’s a bonus that his other head is just as amazing.She likes him. She also knows she could fall for him. That is why she hasn’t gone there. The distance is too much. His friendship with her brother could be on the line. What if they go there and it not only hurts them but Patrick as well. She told herself she wouldn’t do this but after one night with Patrick, she wants more but how could it possible work?
I love this couple!! Their relationship is easy but difficult at the same time. They just fit but live in different time zones. They click and feel comfortable with one another but have some difficulty communicating their feelings. That is what made it feel more real to me. The way they question themselves. I am not a let’s talk about our feelings type so I got it. Anyways...Patrick is a man’s man. A gentlemen with a roughness. A swoon-worthy bearded hottie who knows his way around a campfire and can make a mean s’mores after it’s built. Mia has a simple beauty on the outside and is a extraordinary beauty in the inside. Together they are fun, sexy, and have their obstacles to conquer. Oh!! I can not forget about Zeus, the most kickass cat ever. I would seriously read his story if Lauren ever went there.
Overall...it’s another Lauren book that you must read! I laughed, cried, felt the tingles. It also made me want to go for a hike and put a harness on my cat.
P.S. Their nicknames names for each other are the best. Unique and so them.

It was only an hour of time but these two leave a lasting impression and I have here for it. Easton is the perfect amount of cocky to Bellamy’s spitfire attitude. You could feel the chemistry from across the game room filled with beautiful and fun patrons in costumes. Easton is loving her challenging ways while she is loving his charming ways but will they end the night with a happy ending?
If a happy ending means she walks away only to see him again a few weeks later, unexpectedly. Then yes. And that is when the real games begin…
Games of flirty banter. Enemies in romance duels. There is even an assassination. These two are red-hot in their dirty games and I am here for it. Easton and Bellamy’s story is one of my all-time favorite love stories Lauren has ever written. It’s a page-turner that had me all in my feels. Bellamy is one of my favorite heroines. Ever. She is witty, smart, tough, flirty, and knows exactly what she wants. She kicks ass and takes names. And Easton may be cocky but oh, Lord is he charming, sexy, and swoony, and so funny. Together, they are explosive.
I can’t wait to read more about Easton’s friends and family. This New York is crew is so much fun, supportive, and creative. Oh, I can’t forget about Coco…she is the best. I want to be her when I grow up.

The first two stories were decent. I'd give those three stars. I DNF the third one. It got boring and lost my attention. Not her best work.

I enjoyed reading and listening to all three of these stories! I liked Hard Wood the best, because Zeus the cat his commentary was just funny. 5⭐️
I really liked Come Again too with his grandmother, Coco and her views on love 💕 5⭐️
Joy Ride was also a good story and all three stories are standalone reads that end in a HEA 💕 4.5⭐️
