This is a Romantic Suspense, and this is part of the Dakota K-9 Unit series. I have read some of the other books in this series before picking up this book. I read this book by listening to the audiobook for this book, and I really enjoyed this audiobook. I loved the characters in this book. I really got pulled into the story and the characters so much I did not want to put this audiobook down. I loved the action and suspense in this book, and I also loved the romance in this book. I received an ARC of this book. This review is my own honest opinion about the book like all my reviews are.
There’s a striking immediacy in a story that draws you into danger, hope, and courage all at once, and this novella does exactly that. Dangerous Holiday Manhunt opens with a cold wind, a brewing storm, and a federal marshal who walks her assignment with grit and conviction. I connected with Lorelai immediately … the courage beneath her quiet resolve, the way she steps forward even when an unknown path stretches out in front of her.
Lenora Worth gives the story a clarity that fits the snow-covered landscape … crisp pacing, vivid scenes, and characters who feel genuine and worth cheering for. I loved the emotional warmth tucked inside the suspense, the honest humanity shaped by responsibility, loss, and a steady strand of faith. The Christian elements are woven with sincerity, offering reminders that God is present in danger, in uncertainty, and in the choices that require strength.
This novella also offers richly immersive descriptions … the kind that pull you directly onto the ranch with its storm winds, its shadows, and its relentless cold. It’s a story full of tension, mystery, and the quiet possibilities that rise when truth finally comes into view. The K-9 partner brings a calm vigilance to the danger, a presence that heightens the story in meaningful ways.
Callie Beaulieu delivers this story with a strength that fits the tension beautifully. She gives each character a grounded voice, lets the danger breathe, and brings the emotional moments forward with just the right touch. It made the whole story feel sharper, closer, and more engaging.
For readers who appreciate suspense shaped by conviction, faith woven through danger, and characters who walk forward with courage when the path turns uncertain, this novella offers a satisfying and heartfelt read.
I received a digital audio ARC of this book from HarperCollins via NetGalley. I am not required to write a positive review in any way or for any reason. My honest and unbiased opinions expressed in this review are my own. I focused on its faithfulness to Christian themes, the writing style, the pacing, the characterization, and the quality of the narration, ensuring transparency and reliability.
Dangerous Holiday Manhunt is a faith-based, romantic suspense holiday novella by Lenora Worth. It’s connected to the Dakota K-9 Unit series but can also be enjoyed as a standalone. U.S. Marshal Lorelai Danvers is tracking a dangerous fugitive whose trail leads straight to widower Drake Corbin’s North Dakota ranch. Drake is gruff, private, and keeps others at a distance, still living under the weight of grief caused by the very man Lorelai is pursuing. Lorelai’s presence forces him to confront more than just the storm outside. As danger closes in, will they be able to rely on each other to survive until help arrives?
I enjoyed both Drake and Lorelai as characters. Lorelai is strong and confident without veering into reckless independence, and Drake is a kind-hearted man determined to protect both Lorelai and his sister. Their romance builds slowly and naturally, with a pacing that feels more realistic than many romantic suspense novellas. A twist toward the end was easy to spot coming, but it didn’t make me enjoy it less. The audiobook is narrated by Callie Beaulieu, who does a great job immersing the listener in the story. While I wasn’t sure at first about her portrayal of Lorelai’s voice, it quickly grew on me. Her narration is clear, steady, and engaging, making it easy to get swept up in the unfolding suspense.
Recommended for readers who enjoy: -Grumpy, protective MMCs -Stubborn U.S. Marshal FMCs -K-9 officers -Slow burns -Opposites attract -Found family -Family secrets -Themes of faith and forgiveness
Thank you NetGalley and Harlequin Audio for the ALC. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Dangerous Holiday Manhunt is written by Lenora Worth. The audio book is narrated by Callie Beaulieu. This book is packed full of action and suspense. This is also part of the Dakota K-9 unit series. However, they are all written as stand alone stories. US Marshal Lorelai Danvers ends up on Drake Corbin's ranch chasing a dangerous fugitive. She has heard that Drake is not so easy to deal with - so she and her K9 partner, Bixby take a deep breath and hope for the best when she knocks on his door.
What she does not count on is being trapped in a snowstorm and being two steps behind Booker. Booker escaped while he was being transported and all clues had pointed to him coming back to the ranch where he first worked. However, she learns that there are family secrets and that Drake has not been completely honest with her.
I really liked the character development in this story. The chemistry between Drake and Lorelei is palpable. The author has done a great job in writing the scenes, where you feel you are also trapped in the snow storm.
The narrator's tone matches perfectly what is going on with the book.
I loved this story. It's a quick read/listen and you will be lost within it as soon as you start.
Thank you to the author, publisher and Netgalley for allowing me to listen to a copy of this book - all thoughts are my own.
We are taken back to North Dakota in another suspense, clean romance that is part of the Dakota K-9 Unit series. It’s where through a snowstorm , US Marshal Lorelei Danvers is determined to find a fugitive. The storm leads her to the ranch owned by widower Drake Corbin. Needing help and information, Lorelei approaches the ranch . Drake is well aware of the fugitive who once lived in his ranch and likely was the one that trigger the events that caused him to lose his wife. As the danger intensifies with shots, fires and personal turmoils, it’s obvious there is an attraction between Lorelei and Drake. Will these two and his sister survive the invasion in their lives and the ranch? What happens when old secrets are revealed? This audiobook was engaging from beginning to end . One that will keep the listeners on the edge of their seats. The narrator, Callie Beaulieu, brought the story to life. I was entrusted a copy of this audiobook by Netgalley and Harlequin Audio. The opinions expressed are solely my own.

Dangerous Holiday Manhunt puts us back in the Dakotas at Christmas time. Lorelei is a US Marshall who transferred from Savannah Georgia. She’s not really prepared for winter. Lorelei was on the task force searching for gun smugglers. Now she is searching for a fugitive. Drake owns the ranch where Lorelei suspects the fugitive may be hiding. It’s a tense 48 hours as a storm moves in, and the fugitive is indeed on the ranch causing havoc. Lorelei and Drake catch feelings for each other. The suspense is good. The romance is sweet. The Australian shepherd K-9 is such a good part of the story. I enjoyed listening to the book. The narrator does a great job. Thanks to Netgalley and Harlequin Audio for the opportunity to read this book.
Loreali Danvers and her K9 partner are tracking a convict when a sudden blizzard comes up and traps her in the big ranch house of Drake Corbin a cantankerous gentleman, and his sister. Lorelai soon finds out why the convict came to this area and Corbin makes no secret of the fact if he gets the chance he will just kill him. Another great K9 mystery. This to is fast paced and action packed. The characters are well conceived and mesh together really well. The narrator is awesome and brings the story alive. I can’t wait for more.
Dangerous Holiday Manhunt by Lenora Worth follows US Marshal Lorelai Danvers who's trapped in a snow storm on Drake Corbin’s ranch—where a dangerous fugitive is hiding. This read was a "litter slower" than I am used to with the Love Inspired Suspense but still a good read with 3 stars!
Can be read as a standalone but may have characters that overlap. She's trying to catch a fugitive. His ranch might be the destination. Opposites attract Family secrets
Christmas K-9 Patrol by Lenora Worth, narrated by Callie Beaulieu. Faith filled mystery suspense is a must read. Didn’t want to put it down. Great characters and plot. Thank you to #NetGalley and #Harlequin Audio for this arc. This is my honest review. Releases Nov 25, 2025
