I loved book one, so I was excited for this, but it just didn’t hit as hard. Nova and Clay were still likable and the chaos was fun, but the romance didn’t have the same spark and some parts felt rushed. Not bad, just not as strong as the first.

OMG. I loved the first book but this book blew me away. I absolutely loved Clay and Nora. Their connection was undeniable and I loved the journey they took to taming his wolf and becoming mates. There was a lot of action going on and was here for it. This series is so much different than I thought it would be and I love every minute. I can’t wait to read Hunter’s book next.

I'll be honest I didn't know where this one was going when I first picked this book up. I wasn't certain I was going to enjoy the pitting of 2 brothers against each other. Love triangles are just not my thing.

But this isn't a traditional love triangle. There's never anything romantic between Nova and Hunter, despite the weird claim Hunter's wolf has made over Nova in the beginning. On the other hand, the chemistry between Nova and Clay is far more palpable long before they cross lines and become more than friends.

And I enjoyed the complexity created between the couple as we learn more about Clay's "insane" wolf - the supposed reason he and Nova can never be more than friends with benefits. I loved that Nova was the one to help him through his past trauma and reconnect with his wolf (and his brothers) again, that she didn't give up once she'd decided to make Clay her mate.

There were other things too in this story that did a good job of keeping me glued. Nova's sister showing up (and being the future FMC for Hunter) was a nice surprise. And the stalker stuff was a wild ride, while it lasted. I wish we'd been given a little more of that - but it very quickly became obvious that that wasn't what this story was about. The stalker was just a tool to get Clay's wolf engaged with Nova. And that's okay- because while I might have liked this part of the story to go a little further, it did what it set out to do.

Anyway - This story's much better put together and much better paced than book 1. This is the sort of storytelling that I expect when I pick up a Lola Glass work.

While there was a tiny bit of a love triangle, it was sorted out quickly and there wasn't any lingering ick. The suspense plot of the stalker was a nice addition, not usually found in Lola Glass books.

Also, the authors notes mentioned that it usually takes her 2-3 weeks to write a book and holy heck that surprised me. No wonder this is my 25th Lola Glass book this year!

I admit I had some troubles in reading this second one.

I am usually very fast but This took me a fully week to finish it... I did not like the fact that at first it was Hunter who was interested in Nova and then Clay's wolf claimed her but Clay was afraid of this bond and did not want to give in.

Nova was an interesting character, i loved her spirit and kindness. The relationship with Clay only worked because of her strong attitude, she did not fear his wolf and showed him he could trust his nature.

Such a fun and easy read!
These are quick books, no real drama, packed full of swooning moments and spice.
I thought for the two book build up the stalker thing was swift and anti climactic, but as I just mentioned these books aren’t for suspense. Lola has proven herself to be a good time and this book was no different.
I will be reading the next instalment as well as other books from the author!!
I loved that Nova was the one saving Clay, their connection was gorgeous, the banter so enjoyable, just a great, speedy read!

alrighty, I liked Nova as a main character, but this dragged a bit for me. I feel like we got more intrigue with her stalker in book one that wasn't even her book. We barely have that in this one until of course the big scene. Which occurs around 50 percent. So the big bad thing ends at 50 percent and we are sucked into the will they won't they drama.

Now I know this author wanted to take a shot at the love triangle or close to it, but Hunter just came off childish, and it makes me so doubtful of mate bonds in this world now. If the mate bond is something you can just ignore it isn't that strong. Now if he was actually meant to be with her twin sister and we had that bond snap admittedly I to place I could hold out hope for the base of mate bonds but we don't get that so it cheapens the whole thing.

Aside from that, I did like these guys together and I loved Clay. when we had Enzo and we all had to learn grunt language to keep up I wasn't a huge fan, but having clay being a fully functional adult that could talk through feelings and express himself was super nice.

Overall, it was good!

This book was such a fun read and I finished it within a few hours. I love Lola Glass writing style and her ideas. The story was interesting with a lot of humour and wolf action. I love a cliche shifter romance with a dangerous male and a shy but brave female.
Nova and Clay were heartwarming together. The saying „opposites attract“ matches them perfectly. Their banter was funny and I really liked their dialogue. The tension was chefs kiss and the smut was hot.
The pages just flew by while reading and I laughed a lot. This book is a guarantee for a fun and carefree time. Thumbs up, well done Lola Glass.

The Wolf Prince’s Mate by Lola Glass is OUT TODAY!!!
It is book two in her Marked Beneath the Moon series.
This is the story of Nova and Clay. They definitely have obstacles standing in the way of them being together but I loved reading about them getting through them. This is only the second book where I felt a connection with not only the human MCs but their wolves too. Their wolves brought me to tears, happy tears. I don’t want to say anything to spoil their story but if you’re a fan of wolf shifters, mates, and friends to lovers than you will love this book like I did. And while you don’t necessarily have to read book one, The Wolf King’s Mate, I definitely recommend it because it gives you backstory that will make this book even better!
Another Lola Glass book read, another Lola Glass book loved! I don’t know if book three is going to be a full book or a novella but either way I’m looking forward to whatever comes next from Lola!

Whew, what a ride!

‘The Wolf Prince’s Mate’ was complex, engaging, and even raw, at times. Author Lola Glass has her writer’s hooks firmly embedded in this reader’s imagination. Clay and Nova’s story was so good, I read it it one sitting. Their HEA was hard won, and well deserved. I cannot wait for Hunter and Olive’s story!

Clay and Nova’s story was absolutely beautiful! I particularly enjoyed the banter and humour between the characters ( and ofc Clay being an overly protective and possessive man!!). I really enjoyed the multiple POVs and getting to know the characters in a lot more depth. Also I absolutely loved that Nova was a tattoo artist and that all the female characters were super independent!

I do think there shouldn’t have been as much of Olive’s life story as there was in this book (maybe it’s just me!).

This is 3 stars graded on a curve because werewolf books are often unreadable. I thought it was entertaining even though the characters fell into that “I like this it’s my passion and I like nothing else” kind of caricature of a person (or wolf I guess) and by the end I was just skimming smut scenes. It was silly but fun 🤷🏻‍♀️

Another quick, fun werewolf book. Clay was great, even if a bit dense, and maybe his story wrapped up a little too neatly at the end, but it is what it is. Nova was a solid female lead, and their dynamic totally worked—her submissive wolf to Clay’s scarred one. The pacing was spot on. Overall, a fun addition to the series.

Lola Glass is my go-to author to read when I need a mood boost or something to cozy up with. I would recommend all of her work, especially “Wildwood” and “Survival of the Mated.” Her books, unless specified as a series, can be read as interconnected standalones (so together or even just one) within universes that I am calling the “Glass-iverse.”
This book played out like a soap opera, and I was tuned IN! This is the first sentence of the synopsis: “I accidentally screwed the Alpha’s brother—and not the one whose wolf is determined I’m his mate.” When I read that, the first thing that came out was, “GIRL 💅👁️👁️” then after a brief moment to process, it turned to, “HOW.” I was immediately invested. When I was finally realizing how, all I could say was, “ah, yeah, I get it now,” and immediately returned to my televised reading to watch the drama continue to unfold (before I go further, she did not cheat).
“The Wolf Prince’s Mate” is book two in the paranormal romance series, “Marked Beneath the Moon”. It takes place about fifteen months after the events of “Wolf King’s Mate” and stars the female-born werewolf, Nova. Amidst the drama that is Nova’s romantic life, her stalker has returned with a vengeance, leaving gruesome art in her car with no means of tracking him as he gets bolder in his attempts to take her. Although some events may be considered gritty, including: a stalker, kidnapping, and a car crash, I would not identify it as “dark romance.” Also, it does not include a trigger warning page. It is an open-door romance with 🌶🌶🌶 of spice (in my opinion), but this book is not a “why-choose” novel or a love triangle. Hunter’s wolf has claimed Nova, but Hunter the human is not interested in her. Clay is interested in Nova, and Nova (despite resisting) is interested in Clay.
When I said I was tuned in, I meant it. If I weren’t reading the words myself, I could have been convinced it was a daydream or a movie with how vivid the book was (in particular, emotionally). The pacing for the events of the book is well done and very reasonable. The pacing when everything falls apart? Chef's kiss 👌. I was deep in my feelings when Clay left. I felt like a spectator watching these events unfold, and it hurt to watch when Nova woke up alone (not a spoiler). I almost cried when Clay said, “Please,” and he cried. I did a little pout to see how disheveled he became, and proud to see Nova become so strong and resolute in herself and her plans.
The epilogue made me cackle. I had a feeling I knew who the two characters would be in the next book, and when THAT part hit, I felt vindicated. I kicked my feet like a 5-year-old. When I read Clay say the equivalent of, “so that happened, anyway…” I cackled.
All in all, I loved the book. It was AH-MAZING. This book has successfully found its way into my Top 5 books in the Glass-iverse, and I am so ready to read it again!!.

One-liner: Ok, my second Lola Glass and it was a lot of the same fantasy-lite meh.

- I will admit, the premise of Glass' novels are interesting and unique, at least based on what I've seen. The confusion with Hunter and the stalker and then Clay. Mind you - I didn't read the blurb before beginning to read the novel.
- The rejection/yearning/hurt feelings tension was quite good. Bit cliche, but we can move past that.
- Idk if I missed this, but I don't believe there was ever any explanation of how mates work and whether they're fated or not. To my memory, it wasn't ever explained. I don't expect writers to explain their whole world, but a few clarifying moments would be nice. I guess I learned to assume that mates were more of a choice.
- I like the tension between Nova's human personality that's very strong and capable, juxtaposed against her wolf personality that is timid and easily dominated.
- I don't like how the men in Glass' novels seem to be troubled and it's the women that have to be patient and guide them through their feelings. Why a girl gotta put so much work in? Why do decades old dudes not have self-awareness? Don't get me wrong, I understand why this has been done for character-building and to establish their dynamic, but I can't help see it in the context of real-life relationships where women do the heavy emotional lifting for emotionally stunted guys. To me, nothing is more of a turn-on than self-awareness. Feel free to fuck up, just recognise it afterwards, thanks x.
- Honestly, the more I read these books, the more I realise how 'simple' they are in the way they treat the fantasy genre and, in particular, powers. Aspen and Nova have simply popped out of nowhere (it's never directly addressed or explored or pursued in any way - they're just a freak phenomenon that no one even really investigates except for one doctor in Book 1) and they have this goated ability to create more women with a bite (which we also don't know how this came to be because the males were literally made in a petri dish apparently - not to mention this isn't even explroed) and then apparently it gets rid of cancer, too?!?!? Like you could be saving people's lives out here but you're just prioritising people already in the wolf community. Where did the humans go? Anyways, very much fantasy-lite which I don't have any gripes with, I just think it undervalues the importance of some of what it suggests is possible in this world and doesn't necessarily treat it with its due weight.

All in all, pretty average fantasy-lite novel.

while i was hooked while reading this book and finished it in pretty much one sitting, it wasn't a perfect read. here's what worked for me and what didn't:

what i liked:

- no manwhore hero here. clay was celibate and sought out company every couple years. and nova was very much experienced. i loved that.

- om drama. i'm not normally for ow/om drama but when H is pushing h away and claiming he can't ever properly mate with her?? hell yeah give me alllll the om drama and make him jealous!! nova went on dates + kissed one om while trying to find herself a mate. the H at this time was NOT offering her that and only had friends with benefit in mind.

- clay was not a jerk to nova. they started out as sort-of friends and it developed from here. compared to the first book in series (which i DNF'd) that had H barely spending any time with h.

- i'm glad hunter was involved in helping find nova a mate and was a lil too efficient in setting up those dates for her, lol. that helped in showing her how much he did NOT want to mate with nova.

what i didn't like:
- too much time spent on hunter's wolf thing and the almost love triangle thing between the hero, heroine, and hero's brother. i personally would have wanted that wrapped up sooner than it actually did. it was starting to hurt MY feelings that way H (clay) kept pushing her away. i get his reasoning and the only reason it didn't upset me more was that it was not malicious at all and he was truly scared for her life and thought he was protecting her. but it would've been nice to see some balls on him and effort on his end too, ya know?!

- while it helped that hunter was adamantly against mating with nova despite his wolf thinking she's his mate, i did NOT want to hear how he would've helped her out with her heat if he had known how much pain she actually was each time. i'm going to assume by "help her out" he only meant let her spend heat with someone else.

- there was no explanation on how/why TWO wolfs are able to claim the same person as their mate. the mate bond does not seem that special imo in this universe.

- hunter's mate is nova's TWIN sister. i will need convincing that she is not second best bc the wolf couldn't get the first sister. i'm hoping them being twins had the wolf confused or something. lola glass did say it won't be as drama filled so fingers crossed!

Ohhh my gosh, The Wolf Prince’s Mate by Lola Glass had me absolutely feral from page one. You know when you can feel the chaos brewing in the first few chapters and you’re just grinning like a maniac because you know you’re about to watch a beautiful disaster unfold? Yeah. That was me the whole time. And let me tell you, it was glorious.

From my very human, deeply nosy, and terrible-at-life-choices heart, this book hit all the right spots. Accidentally sleeping with the wrong wolf? Check. Forbidden feelings blooming where they absolutely shouldn’t? Double check. A mate bond hanging over everyone's heads like a ticking time bomb while a stalker lurks in the background? Triple, messy, delightful check.

I was so in this poor girl's shoes. The pressure to choose a mate when your heart is already tangled up with the one guy you're not supposed to want?? Ugh. It's the exact kind of romantic disaster I live for. Watching her try to fight what was so clearly inevitable (because, hello, Hunter is basically irresistible) was both hilarious and painful. I wanted to shake her and hug her at the same time.

And Hunter. Sweet, obsessive, possessive Hunter. I did not expect to love him as hard as I did. His spiral into absolutely unhinged, ride-or-die obsession? Chef’s kiss. I was on the edge of my seat, eating it all up like it was the last dessert at a buffet. (And if loving a borderline-crazy wolf prince is wrong, I don’t wanna be right.)

But what really got me? The heart underneath all the heat and chaos. Yes, it's spicy (thank you, Lola Glass, you magician), but it’s also about trust, about choosing love even when it’s messy and terrifying and so not what you planned for. The tension, the chemistry, the "oh my god, are they finally going to admit they’re obsessed with each other??" moments—it was just everything I needed.

Bottom line: If you're like me and you love your romance wild, a little dangerous, and dripping with longing and forbidden feels, The Wolf Prince’s Mate is your next guilty pleasure. (And trust me, you won’t even feel guilty about it because it’s that damn good.)

Well, Nova didn't turn out to be nearly as cool or fun as she seemed to be in book one. Which was a huge bummer tbh.

While I appreciated that there was no real love triangle, or even a hint of one, there were a lot of complications involved that I guess was easily explained as something similar but truly it never was even close to a love triangle.

I did like Clay a lot. He was fascinating and I always wish we got to be in the MMCs POV more than we ever do. I found his relationship with his brothers and his wolf so intriguing and the book truly didn't pick up until about 70% when it redirects and becomes more about solving Clay's traumatized wolf and his own trust issues with him.

Otherwise I think the book dragged in the middle. Came across a bit repetitive with how wishy washy Nova was about her feelings about Clay, mating someone for protection and just her life in general. Eventually that became a tired record I got bored of hearing.

I felt like her history with her twin sister was sort of just dropped in the story and then forgotten until it became convenient for the plot. There was no real meat or purpose to it, not really. It felt like it was summed up within a few paragraphs really so it was a bit of a wasted plot point for me. It just wasn't fleshed out enough for me to care about their messy childhood or how distant they were as adults.

I think the back and forth and forced angst of the situation with Hunter's wolf being protective and possessive over Nova just took all the air out fo the story for me. All the endless forced angst of Hunger being blind to how his actions were affecting Nova's life, how Nova wouldn't speak up for herself and fight for more freedom even considering how screwed up the situation was, and even how Nova kept trying to play the martyr card by not wanting to come between Clay and Hunter. Yet she was deeply unhappy with how the last year had went with Hunter's wolf acting like she belonged to him but neither her or Hunter wanting to be with one another. I didn't understand how she could just accept that kind of inconsiderate behavior from Hunter and not ever say "hey asshole that doesn't work for me!" but instead she just liked to say she was "fine" and tough it out but it was exhausting to experience esp when it only lead to her whining about her issues because she kept not doing anything about them. Round and round it went. It should have never been dragged out as long as it was tbh. Because by the time Clay and Nova truly spent time together and finally stopped dancing around them being "friends with benefits" it was just about 70% through and then we just get a few scenes of them together and then the next few weeks were merely summarized before the sister drama occurred and allowed for the separation and Clay's trauma with his wolf to emerge.

I think that was the biggest issue for me that ruined quite a bit of my enjoyment of the book. I really did like Clay and Nova in the last 25% or so. Nova almost seemed like a different woman, close to how she seemed in book one even. She wasn't whining or moping or just being miserable about her situation and never doing anything to fix it. She seemed cool, determined and focused by then.

And sure, there was the stalker nonsense but it kind felt a bit pointless other than to move the plot in the direction for Clay's wolf to lose his shit over her being hurt. Otherwise it was alot of talk, then they attacked and it was over. Not that I minded it wasn't drawn out but it felt weird in the entirety of the story.

I also found the intense submissiveness of Nova's wolf unnerving. Like, it seemed almost borderline pathetic as if she was afraid of her own shadow. And that just didn't fit with the idea of a wolf shifter for me, even a generally submissive female one at that. And yeah, her stalker I know played a part to some degree but I got the vibe she had always seemed terrified of everyone and everything. Which just felt weird to me.

Anyway, it was interesting but obviously had it's issues for me. The end I thought was really cute and I did enjoy the last 25% far more than the first half of the book tbh.

Loving this new series by Lola Glass and have been eating them up as soon as they are released! This one was my favorite in the series so far as well as Nova and Clay being my favorite couple.

FMC Nova has a stalker, an estranged twin, and an unwanted wolf who is trying to claim her. To add more drama to things, she sleeps with his brother, MMC Clay. She is Clay’s tattoo artist and they have been friends, and I love that that is how their relationship started.

Clay is the nice one out of the Savage brothers and in contrast his wolf is the scariest and he believes his wolf to be insane due to an incident from their past. He will not let himself shift because he is so worried about his wolf hurting one of his brothers or someone else that he cares about.

I was onboard with both the rejected mate theme and the brief love triangle. They were both resolved very satisfactorily in a way that moved the plot along nicely and made sense. I also really like the found family theme in this series and how the pack takes care of their own, whether biological family or new members.

Nova and Clay had some things in common that I think helped bond them together and make them be compassionate with one another, the main thing being that both of their fathers had pitted them against their siblings in different ways, which had been affecting them all for years. We saw character growth and resolution here and it was beautiful. I love how much healing happened in this book. Healing from new trauma, healing from old trauma, healing relationships, and healing cancer.

I love how unendingly patient these two are with each other and how they like each other so much as friends that they easily come around to being able to communicate so well with one another. And they have amazing chemistry together! This is a great read and I cannot wait to read book #3 which is about Hunter and Olive.

And I have to make a mention of the Alpha Enzo and his gift baskets LOL

Nova enters the Savage Pack through her bond with Aspen, another rare female werewolf. She isn’t looking for a mate, but after meeting the Alpha brothers, her walls start to crack. I’ll admit, I was initially nervous this might turn into a dramatic love triangle with heartbreak and betrayal. Thankfully, while there’s tension and emotional turmoil between the wolves, the human choices are clear, respectful, and satisfying.

One of the most rewarding elements of this story is the friends to lovers dynamic. Nova and Clay begin with a deep, trusting friendship that they both lean on heavily, especially as the world around them starts to spiral. That bond becomes the foundation for everything else, and it makes the eventual shift into romance feel natural and earned. It also raises the emotional stakes in the best way.

This book definitely delivers on the spice. Lola Glass writes love stories full of heart and healing, but she never skimps on the passion. The chemistry between Nova and Clay is scorching, and their connection hits on both the emotional and physical fronts.

While the stalker subplot exists, it remains a background thread. Honestly, I was fine with that. The heart of the story is in the characters and their healing journeys. Nova’s occasional habit of misinterpreting situations did frustrate me at times, but in the context of her trauma, it’s understandable. Her struggle to believe she’s worthy of love, and her eventual growth into self-acceptance, is beautifully done. Clay’s development is equally powerful as he begins to unpack his own trauma. Watching them face it together was moving and meaningful.

And then there’s Oli. Completely unexpected, but a great surprise. I’m really excited to see where her story goes in future installments.

Nova is a born female werewolf as well as awesome tattoo artist. Now, that it is known what she is and Hunter’s wolf decided that Nova was his. However, Hunter doesn’t want a mate, so when it is time for Nova to go into heat, Hunter takes him to his mansion and he stays in his rooms, and she suffers through it in the basement. Seeing her go through that, made me want to cry and to yell at Hunter. Clay is very friendly with Nova and calls her Gorgeous. Nova has a group of protective bodyguards when she leaves the compound that belongs to King Enzo and his brother’s (the Princes). Her heat starts early which forces Clay to take her away, but it comes on even faster and things go crazy for them. Her heat causes Clay’s rut and things get totally steamy quickly as Clay finds out exactly what she goes through during her heat, which the pain, etc. is getting worse. I felt so bad. Aspen & Enzo are funny and adorable together (& annoying), Fletcher, Aspen’s brother is with Sydney, although they aren’t mated yet. Trying to find a way for Hunter to get his wolf to stop being possessive of Nova through the book is crazy and weird. I love how Nova tries to deal with it all. She is an inspiration on how to deal with the craziness of the sitch. I always thought Clay was hot, (& Hunter) but in this book he blew me away. We find out so much about Clay, his past and Nova’s too. Just wow. I cried, laughed, needed the AC, for the freaking out plus the steam. Nova also has a stalker that was thought to have gone away- but nope. That was scary! Egads, I felt sick at that section. I love how Nova handles Clay’s wolf, whom everyone else is afraid of. The book was awesome and I can’t wait for Hunter’s.

Another fantastic, spicy romantasy by Lola Glass; full of drama, the hint of a love triangle, wonderful characters with brilliant chemistry, family, friendships, sexy wolf shifters, overly protective alphas, heaps of humor, banter and spice💖. Another that I couldn't put down and would strongly recommend.

Hunter had found Aspen (in The Wolf King's Mate) but she wasn't the wolf he'd sensed in the woods and that his wolf was hunting. But after realising that Nova is the one, his wolf claimed her but he didn’t want the bond so is in a difficult position. But while he's away from the Lodge, she needs help and his brother Clay realises she's been hiding her pain.

Clay is the third triplet, but the brothers all worry about his wolf being insane so he's sure that he can't get attached to anyone. But Nova has a stalker and Clay just wants to ensure his friend stays safe. His feelings for the woman his brother's wolf has claimed are getting stronger, but his own wolf is too violent for him to risk being near her.

Nova is a wonderful character, seeing Clay's wolf when others don't. She knows she needs to find a mate to get Hunter's wolf to back off and realises that her feelings for Clay go beyond friendship, but can she convince him that his wolf isn't a danger to her?
