Flash: “…I’m telling you! I can move within a picosecond!”
Sonic: “Aw, your speed can still be measured? That’s adorable!”
Dang I am starting to resent how good these issues are because I am reading them way too fast!! Which I guess is quite ironic because of the characters included in this crossover. As we left off the last issue Flash and Sonic almost immediately found the power mad Thanos…I MEAN…Darkseid with the first of the infinity…I MEAN…chaos emeralds. What can I say, darkseid has that Thanos itch this issue for collecting powerful stones, lol. So of course as two good speedsters do, they run into the fray without thinking of the danger and immediately try and take on darkseid themselves. This immediately backfires and Sonic gets a first hand understanding of what an omega beam is. Luckily with Flash’s experience he was able to direct sonic so the two beams going after them would crash into each other. But that gave enough time for darkseid to get away with the chaos emerald.
No one else has gotten close to one and cyborg and tails are still working on a way to track them. But it seems that darkseid is having similar issues. Right as he gets back to his floating head, he finds out from Desaad that the chaotic energy of the emeralds are actively trying to hide their location. So darkseid does what any tyrannical ruler would, and sends out all of his troops to rip the world apart and find the emeralds. Tails and cyborg notice this behavior and use their troop movements to generate search coordinates for the rest of the league to use to find the emeralds. But they are also starting to consider what would happen if the emeralds fall into Darkseid’s hands. Cyborg has a boom tube prepped to get them back to the watch tower, but that is not enough for a full world evacuation.
As the hunt for the chaos emeralds ignites around the world, we see as our Justice league x sonic friends duos get into fights with apokolips finest. Wonder Woman and Amy vs lashina. Green lantern and Solver vs Mantis. Superman and knuckles go round two with Kalibak. And Batman and shadow run I to Steppenwolf, who has happened to find a chaos emerald. Luckily this is a chaos emerald Shadow is familiar with and he is able to get close enough to activate chaos control and go full Jojo punch mode on Steppenwolf.
But that victory doesn’t last long as the entire world begins to erupt in chaos, as Darkseid begins to harness the energy of the one chaos emerald he has. He realizes that he could mutilate the entire world with just one, if he has all of them he could take down universes. It is now imperative that they get up to darkseid and stop him, which is where they will have to hitch a ride with a dear friend: Dr Eggman and his giant floating war ship!! Hilariously they hitch a ride and he immediately smashed the ship into Darkseid’s giant floating eye!! As they beach the ship they are able to quickly make their way to darkseid as everyone is gathered to fight him. Superman goes blow for blow as silver and GL uses their powers to distract him, giving WA a chance to lasso him up. Unfortunately shadow made the stupid decision of bringing the chaos emerald he saved right to Darkseid’s front door, so he gets the very terrible experience of trying to stop time with chaos control…only for darkseid to overpower it and move at his same speed. Luckily I do t see anywhere where darkseid actually gets his emerald, but the teams then resulted to distracting darkseid while flash ran up to Darkseid’s machine and attempted to phase through to destroy it. But after fishing around inside of it for a bit, he finds that the machine is not playing by any known rules. They are fixed to pull the flash back as the machine goes haywire. Darkseid are Tod to regain control but the Justice league try and hold him back. As the entire world starts to deconstruct around them, Batman makes a gamble. As GL grabs all of the Sonic friends into a bubble, Batman orders cyborg to open a boom tube back to the watchtower and throw them in. In an insane then of events, the sonic group is thrown into the main universe onto the watchtower as everyone is left behind! They immediately run into the best person possible to run into: Mr Terrific. But he does not have terrific news for them…he can’t send them back as there are no coordinates to send them back to…there world is gone. The JL, darkseid, everyone the know…gone. Omg…

It's incredible how well Ian Flynn writes the Justice League, despite mainly working on the main Sonic comics. Every pairing here works so well (though maybe Green Lantern and Silver are a bit underutilised?), the fight against Darkseid was great, and I wasn't expecting that cliffhanger!
