Enigma of Kadhir is a time-bending, heart-wrenching journey through wormholes, memory, and sacrifice—where science and love collide in a mother’s impossible choice.
The mystery begins at the end… and loops back to love.
Venkatesan Subramanian is an Indian author whose writing blends science, memory, and the timeless weight of love. A self-taught storyteller with a deep curiosity for time, loss, and legacy, he debuted with Enigma of Kadhir—a speculative fiction novel.
When not writing, Venkatesan explores human behavior, physics, and the subtle power of quiet moments. His stories come from a place where the mind wonders, and the heart remembers.
For a long time, I have believed that Sci-fi is not my cup of tea because it's too technical and may not be for me but this book proved me wrong.
This book is a blend of science and emotional touch, a mix of magic and myth. An amalgamation of everything is awe inspiring that it sets the stage for more thrill and adventures.
The story is about Kadhir who finds himself confused as he constantly shifts between past, present and the future. The events that were traumatic for him, somehow he is drawn to that time, only to witness it again and again. His Wife Nisha and his friend Arjun can't see Kadhir dealing with this alone, they set out to unveil the mystery behind the strange occurrences happening with Kadhir.
When these strange experiences begin to surface, Kadhir often finds a mysterious woman hiding in the back, silently observing everything. Who's that woman and what possibly her intention could be remains a suspense.
The story is narrated smoothly, there was no confusion even when the story was quickly moving through past and present, between Kadhir's life and that of his Mother's. There's so much happening in the story that it's difficult to put it down. As a reader, you will be lost and confused and you will turn pages after pages because every twist will leave you wanting for more.
The Author has done a great work on the research part. Everything was explained in a simple way even if you don't have much knowledge about wormholes or time travel, this book won't feel like a jargon.
As Kadhir, Nisha and Arjun try to solve the mystery, they come across more revelations that shocks them. They desperately try to undo everything but life has a different plan.
I am eagerly waiting for the sequel to come out as the book ended on a cliffhanger. I can't wait to find out what happens next. There was so much tension building towards the end and the last few pages were hard to put down.
The writing style was smooth and easy to get into the story. In my opinion, the book cover could be more appealing to draw readers into it. Over all, it was a great experience reading this book.
This was my first sci-fi book. While reading it, I felt like I was watching a sci-fi movie. Enigma of Kadhir is a perfect blend of science, love, and sacrifice.
It explores concepts like quantum physics and time relativity, intertwined with themes of love and sacrifice. The story follows Kadhir, whose mother died in a tragic accident. In an attempt to bring her back, he experiments with parallel dimensions. Nisha, his wife, and her friend Arjun help him unravel the mystery. While Kadhir puts in every effort to save his mother, she ultimately sacrifices her life for her son.
The author has clearly put a lot of effort into researching for this book. The time travel aspect keeps you hooked until the very end. It’s fast-paced and very well written.
The best part of the book was the bond between Kadhir and his mother—her love and protectiveness towards him truly made me emotional. If you enjoy science fiction with a heart-touching story, definitely give this one a try.
This book is a blend of science and emotional touch, a mix of magic and myth. A fusion of everything sets the stage for additional thrills and adventures and is awe-inspiring.
The main character in the story is Kadhir, who is lost in thought because he constantly switches between the past, the present, and the future. The events that were traumatic for him, somehow he is drawn to that time, only to witness it again and again.
Because his wife Nisha and friend Arjun don't think Kadhir can handle this on his own, they set out to solve the mystery of the strange things that are happening to him.
The author has clearly put a lot of effort into researching for this book. You won't let go of the time travel element until the very end. It's written very well and moves quickly.
This captivating novel explores human reality, reminding readers that love remains our truest anchor. Highly recommended for its emotional depth and philosophical insight.
This book begins with quantum energy and time peculiarity which soon shifts into some deep emotion: pain, longing and the unbreakable bond between a mother and her son.
Kadhir isn’t a typical Principal. He’s a scientist chasing time for love — trying to undo the tragedy of losing his mother. Alongside his wife, Nisha and friend Arjun, Kadhir embarks on a journey. As timelines shift and sides blur, his journey becomes a layered puzzle of choices, sacrifices and “what ifs.”
Through it all, his mother, remains the emotional heartbeat — a quiet force of resilience and devotion that had me engrossed more.
🌀 What I loved:
The blend of mythology with quantum energy. The emotional core — mother-son dynamic — was raw and real. Some scenes unfolded in my head like a film.
"Enigma of Kadhir" by Venkatesan Subramanian is a gripping literary gem. Blending Tamil mythology, quantum physics, and spiritual reflection, it crafts a narrative both intellectually stimulating and emotionally resonant.

Somewhere outside of time, a mother's love warps the rules of science—and never releases.
Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (5/5)
Enigma of Kadhir: Where Science Ends, Love Begins by Venkatesan Subramanian is a powerful blend of speculative science fiction and emotional resonance. Ultimately, this is not merely a novel about time travel—it's a novel about love: strong, haunting, and unyielding. Kadhir, a brilliant scientist grieving the death of his mother, tests the limits of quantum mechanics in an eleventh-hour bid to reverse fate. But what starts as a quest for science gradually transmutes into a search for the soul.
Through changing timelines and parallel worlds, the story challenges the very basis of cause and effect. Kadhir's wife Nisha and their friend Arjun bring emotional depth and moral guidance to the narrative, anchoring the metaphysical concerns in human relationships. The book's emotional peak—the sacrifice of a mother—resounds long after the last page, making a heady read an emotionally resonant one.
Why This Sci-Fi Love Story Works: • Emotion-Driven Sci-Fi: Time travel isn't a gimmick but a means to navigate grief, yearning, and the intricacy of release. •Accessible Yet Intelligent: Subramanian skillfully expounds on ideas like alternate realities and quantum time cycles without diminishing their philosophical heft. •Powerful Mother-Son Bond: The emotional trajectory between Kadhir and his mother is the heart of the book—a tender depiction of sacrificial love transcending time. •Narrative Fluidity: The narrative circles and spirals with movie speed, but never sacrifices emotional logic. It's as if viewing a sci-fi movie coated in poetry. • Timeless Themes: Logic versus love, memory versus truth, and the agonized beauty of acceptance all meet in one stylish narrative.
Final Thoughts:
Enigma of Kadhir is not only science fiction—it's science with a heart. Venkatesan Subramanian writes with accuracy, passion, and understanding, and so this book is at once a mental puzzle and an emotional epiphany. For all those who think that love can resound across lifetimes—and that certain truths are sensed, not solved—this is a precious gem. A must-read for dreamers, thinkers, and those who still hold on to the belief that some enigmas are meant to be experienced, not explained.
Venkatesan Subramanian’s Enigma of Kadhir is a bold and emotionally resonant fusion of speculative science fiction and metaphysical romance. It explores the boundaries of time, memory, and maternal devotion through a narrative that is both intellectually provocative and deeply humane. The subtitle, "Where Science Ends, Love Begins," is no mere flourish—it encapsulates the novel’s central tension: the reconciliation of rational inquiry with emotional truth.
The novel follows two principal figures: a scientist named Kadhir who is unraveling the mysteries of time travel, and a woman—central to the narrative's emotional core—who seems to communicate through dimensions, leaving traces of herself in ephemeral whispers. Their connection spans temporal and spatial dimensions, tethered by loss and a shared yearning for truth. The story is structured in non-linear fragments, mimicking the very wormholes and temporal loops the characters navigate. This form is particularly effective, drawing readers into the disorientation of time-bending travel and memory shifts.
Enigma of Kadhir operates on two intertwined thematic planes: the philosophical limitations of science, and the enduring nature of emotional bonds. The novel raises epistemological questions—how do we know what we know, especially when memory and time are unreliable? But it also grounds these questions in the very real, raw emotions of parental love and human sacrifice.
Subramanian writes with poetic clarity, often imbuing scientific concepts with lyrical resonance. This balancing act—rendering theoretical physics accessible while maintaining narrative momentum—is a notable achievement. The prose carries both emotional depth and intellectual curiosity, which makes the book appealing to readers of both speculative fiction and literary drama.
At times, the complexity of the temporal mechanics may challenge casual readers, but these are offset by strong emotional cues and reflective passages that ground the story in affective reality.
A thought-provoking, emotionally intricate novel that transcends genre - Enigmatic Of Kadhir is not just a story about time, but about what we choose to hold onto when time slips away.
This book took me by surprise. I honestly went in expecting a typical science fiction plot with maybe a bit of time travel or parallel universe stuff, but what I got was something completely different. A story that’s quiet, emotional, and deeply human.
The main character, Kadhir, is a physicist dealing with the loss of his wife, Nisha. The grief is not over-explained, but you feel it on every page. He’s broken, but he’s not dramatic about it. It’s this quiet ache that really lingers. I felt for him, especially in the way he tries to make sense of his pain through science. He’s not trying to be a hero or change the world. He’s just someone who misses his wife and is desperately trying to find answers.
The concept of using time travel and parallel universes isn’t there just for sci-fi thrills. It’s more emotional than technical. Kadhir’s journey is less about where or when he goes, and more about why. I liked that the story wasn’t rushed. It takes its time, and you slowly start to connect with Kadhir’s thoughts, his confusion, his guilt, and his hope. His inner struggles feel very real.
What really stood out to me is how the book talks about the clash between logic and emotions. Kadhir is someone who’s always relied on facts and science, but now he’s dealing with something that doesn’t fit into any formula. That conflict was so relatable. How do you hold on to someone you love when they’re gone? How do you keep living when you can’t let go? These questions keep coming back throughout the book, and they really made me think.
Some parts were a bit slow for me, but I understand why. The pacing allows you to actually sit with the emotions, instead of being pushed forward by plot twists. And by the end, I realized it’s not really a sci-fi story. It’s more of a love story, or maybe a story about loss, faith, and the limits of what science can explain.
It’s not for everyone. If you want fast-paced action or traditional sci-fi drama, this might not be your thing. But if you like emotional, reflective stories that deal with grief, love, and second chances in a subtle way, this book will probably stay with you for a while. I’m glad I read it.
Enigma of Kadhir is one of those rare literary gems that quietly grips your soul, gently unravels your emotions, and leaves you with lingering thoughts long after the last page.
What begins as a story shaped by grief—a tragic accident, a mourning mother, and a man torn across timelines—evolves into something so profound and layered. The novel blends Tamil mythology, quantum physics, and spiritual reflection, crafting a narrative that is both intellectually stimulating and emotionally resonant.
The author’s writing is poetic yet cinematic—like reading a screenplay written with a poet’s sensitivity. The prose flows effortlessly, weaving themes of time, fate, love, and sacrifice with an elegance that is rarely found in sci-fi literature. Even readers who don’t typically gravitate toward science fiction will find themselves moved by the deeply human emotions at the heart of this novel.
What makes Enigma of Kadhir truly stand out is its ability to merge the cosmic with the personal. Time is not just a backdrop—it becomes a character, a force, both villain and healer. Kadhir’s journey through timelines is emotionally gripping, and the mysterious presence of The Observer adds an intriguing, almost mystical suspense.
The characters—Kadhir, Nisha, and Arjun—are written with depth and relatability. Their struggles, their questions, and their persistence to uncover the unknown make the story thrilling yet intimate. And that final chapter? Utterly unforgettable.
The science in the book—wormholes, time travel, and theoretical physics—is explained with clarity, making it accessible to all readers without losing its complexity. There's no unnecessary jargon, just pure storytelling brilliance. And beneath the scientific layers lies an even stronger message: where science ends, love begins.
This novel doesn’t just explore time travel or alternate realities—it explores human reality. It reminds us that no matter how vast the universe may be, love remains our truest anchor.
💫 A breathtaking, mind-bending, and heart-touching read. Highly recommended to anyone who enjoys emotional depth wrapped in thrilling mystery and philosophical insight.
The story begins with Kadhir and his family in their car, driving on the Chennai-Bangalore highway. There’s so much happiness — his wife scrolling through her phone, stealing loving glances at him. Only Kadhir’s wife notices her, but when she looks again in the mirror, the woman is gone. Before they can make sense of it, a truck crashes into them, shattering their world in an instant. Amid the chaos, the mysterious woman reappears, her lips moving in a silent prayer. It’s eerie, unsettling. In the hospital one of them dies, changing their family dynamics forever marking the beginning of a story that spirals through time, where love, loss, and fate intertwine in ways he never imagined. Infact I as a reader never imagined!
So,Enigma of Kadhir left me deeply moved. The story blends science fiction with Tamil mythology. A heart touching story that explores love, sacrifice, and the nature of time. If you are into fictions that lets you explore many possibilities of alternative realities, you gotta read it. Its one time haunting and another time beautifully written. What struck me the most is how the author mixed quantum theory and metaphysical philosophy together. His journey through time and space felt both surreal and intensely personal. I found myself questioning the boundaries between reality and illusion, science and faith.
The emotional depth of the story is also cery noteworthy to be honest. It shares a mother’s desperate choice to defy time itself for the sake of love. It made me reflect on what I would do if faced with a similar choice. The writing is simple which I liked the most, and the chapters are short yet evocative, making complex scientific concepts accessible without losing the emotional impact. Enigma of Kadhir is a perfect pick for those who love stories that linger in the heart and mind long after the last page.

The deep bond between the characters and their shared struggles make it more than just a story of time travel; it’s a testament to the enduring nature of love and sacrifice.
What stands out in this book is its ability to seamlessly blend complex scientific theories, such as quantum mechanics and time travel, with deeply philosophical and emotional themes. The characters’ journey is not just about solving a mystery but also about understanding themselves and the true nature of the universe. The author’s writing keeps readers on the edge of their seats, as every twist and turn in the story challenges the characters' perceptions of reality.
This book is a must-read for those who enjoy a mix of speculative fiction and heartfelt drama. The exploration of time, sacrifice, and love is handled with such nuance that it transcends the genre. The emotional depth and philosophical underpinnings elevate the narrative, making it a thoughtful and captivating read.
Rating- 4.2 Can we really escape what’s destined, or are we merely players on a stage set by fate?
This story isn’t just about science—it’s a tale of sacrifice, love, and discovery.
* The time travel journey begins when Kadhir visits the famous Nataraja Temple in Chidambaram with his wife Nisha and his father Ravi. Suddenly, Kadhir feels a strange ripple in the air and collapses. He experiences unsettling flashes of different moments in time. One moment, he’s in the present; the next, he’s back in his childhood classroom, talking to a teacher on the very day he first met Nisha. Then, he's pulled into another memory—one involving his mother. He knows what tragic moment is about to unfold and desperately tries to change it, but his efforts are in vain. Soon, he's back in the present.
*Determined to understand what’s happening, Kadhir confides in Nisha and his friend Arjun. Together, they begin researching these strange experiences. Their search leads them to a mysterious book on theoretical science.
*As they piece the clues together, they uncover truths beyond imagination. Someone is tampering with the past—but who, and why? What they ultimately discover is far beyond anything they could have expected.
After reading this book, I learned about several fascinating scientific concepts: • Quantum Entanglement • Superposition • Wormholes • Time Convergence • Chronological Imbalance
Each character was thoughtfully written, and their roles were portrayed brilliantly. I truly enjoyed how complex scientific ideas were seamlessly woven into an emotionally powerful narrative.
Enigma of Kadhir by Venkatesan Subramanian is a stirring blend of science, philosophy, and emotion that delves deep into the mind and soul of its titular character. Venkatesan Subramanian weaves a tale that is both intellectually rich and emotionally resonant, exploring the fragile boundaries between logic and love, fact and faith.
At its heart, the novel follows Kadhir, a scientist who embodies rationality, reason, and empirical thought. His life's journey, however, takes a dramatic turn when he meets Meera, a free-spirited woman whose perspective challenges everything he has known. Their growing bond leads him into a labyrinth of questions about consciousness, karma, and the cosmos that science alone cannot answer.
The story’s strength lies in its philosophical undertones. Subramanian does not shy away from tackling big questions: What is the nature of reality? Can love transcend time and scientific reasoning? As Kadhir grapples with these, readers are taken through compelling dialogues, cultural references, and metaphysical reflections that elevate the narrative from a mere love story to a profound spiritual odyssey.
The prose is elegant, with a meditative tone that suits the novel’s introspective theme. While some sections veer into dense exposition, they ultimately serve to enrich the narrative, especially for readers interested in the convergence of science and spirituality.
Enigma of Kadhir is not just a book it’s an experience. It urges the reader to reflect, question, and most importantly, feel. A must-read for seekers of both knowledge and meaning.

The author has mentioned that Ai tools played a significant role in the completion of this story, as it assisted the author in transforming his initial thoughts and rough drafts into a polished and readable version. It became a creative collaborator in the author’s imagination, making it possible for him to bring his story to life.

His writing is thoughtful and layered, filled with moments that carry depth and meaning. It’s not just a story—it’s an experience that invites the reader to think deeply.
I genuinely appreciate how he managed to maintain a delicate balance between complex scientific ideas and an emotionally rich storyline. It never felt too technical or too sentimental, just the right mix of both.
I feel the character Observer is inspired by Marvel’s Watcher, who performs a similar function. The Observer is a mysterious entity that appears to exist beyond the constraints of time. Its presence remains elusive and puzzling, often emerging during moments that defy logic or explanation.
From the very first page, this book grabs your attention with a life-altering crash—Kadhir, the main character, is rushed to the hospital, battling for his life, while his wife Nisha clings to hope, praying desperately for his survival. It’s a gripping start that instantly pulls you in.
As the narrative unfolds, we’re taken back into Kadhir’s past—his struggles, the deep grief of losing his mother, and the strange presence of something… or someone. An apparition, perhaps? The mystery deepens with every chapter, and you're left wondering who or what is lurking behind the veil of time and space.
But this book isn’t just a mystery or a thriller—it’s a beautiful blend of science fiction, emotional drama, and philosophical depth. The concept of time travel through wormholes is explored in a fascinating way. It’s written in a cinematic style, with short, punchy chapters and vivid descriptions.
One of the most touching aspects of the story is Vega’s sacrifice. That moment brought tears to my eyes. It’s rare to find a book that balances science with soul, logic with love, and suspense with sentiment so seamlessly.
There are numerous twists and revelations, but everything comes full circle by the end. All the pieces fall into place in a satisfying way. This book will titillate your mind with its clever plot and time-travel mechanics while filling your heart with emotion and tenderness. It’s one of those rare reads that keeps your brain racing and your heart full. Whether you're a fan of science fiction, mystery, or heartfelt drama, this book has something for you.

Enigma of Kadhir is one of those books that makes you pause—because every chapter leaves you with something to feel, and something to think about. It’s science fiction, but more than that, it’s a story about love, loss, memory, and time—the kind of time you want to hold on to rewind, or even rewrite if you could. Kadhir, a physicist, is pulled into a loop of timelines, haunted by tragedy, desperately trying to find answers in the one thing he understands best—science. But what he’s really searching for is peace.
As a reader, I was drawn in right from the beginning. The initial chapters already had that emotional pull—the urgency to understand what was happening, and more importantly, why it was happening. But what made the story truly stand out for me was the bond between Kadhir, his wife Nisha, and his best friend Arjun. They never left his side. Through all the chaos, the questions, the pain… they were there. Constant. Loyal. Steady. It felt symbolic—the kind of love and friendship we all hope for in life. And then comes the writing—poetic and cinematic. The science—wormholes, time travel, quantum physics—it never feels too heavy. It becomes a language for emotion. A metaphor for grief, love, and the lengths we go to for what matters."

A must-read for fans of stories like Interstellar, The Time Traveler’s Wife, or Dark (the Netflix series). I closed this book feeling both intellectually stirred and emotionally full—and that’s the best kind of read.
From the very first page of Enigma of Kadhir, I was drawn into a hauntingly poetic world—where time isn’t linear, and memories echo across lifetimes. The prologue itself is a beautifully written invitation into a story where time bends, fractures, and flows into love, loss, and longing. Book Review: Enigma of Kadhir by Venkatesan Subramanian
Enigma of Kadhir, the blending of science fiction with raw emotions, and then the whole thing woven together with philosophical wonder, is just brilliant. Venkatesan Subramanian crafts that hauntingly beautiful tale where wormholes, time fractures, and fragmented memories are just backdrops for a narrative that actually can go about love, sacrifice, and truth.
More than just time travel, this story reflects on the emotional impetus behind decisions and their full worth when it comes to knowledge acquisition. The author is an expert in balancing intricate scientific concepts with lyrical heart-felt storytelling making complex theories feel intimate and accessible.
The characters will find themselves feel most like Kadhir, Nisha, their children Arjunan and Divya, and their wise grandmother. Each chapter pulls readers a little deeper into this maze between science and sacrifice.
Yet lushly written, immersive, and deeply touching, Enigma of Kadhir is rare in that it really stimulates both the intellect and the heart. Definitely recommended for readers who liked Interstellar or The Time Traveler's Wife, it will certainly leave an indelible impression of love's continuous power over the confines of space and time.
"Enigma Of Kadhir" by Venkatesan Subramanian is a story of sacrifice, love, loss, pain, and hope. But what makes the story unique is the theme of science fiction that the author blends into it.
You will be hooked to the story from the very first chapter, as the scene is hauntingly devastating at the same time. There is quite a bit of back and forth in timelines, which will make your reading speed a little bit slower, but the story itself is fast-paced and very gripping.
In the two timelines, on one side we will follow Kadhir, a scientist trying to discover a way to change a tragedy in his life, and on the other side, a woman trying to fix some situations by going back in time. It sounds confusing, but the way the author connects all of these, it would seem so easy. It is easy to read even if the author uses hard themes like relativity and quantum physics.
Apart from the plot, the characters are also going to make a significant mark on you through their emotions and intellect and their relationship with each other. There are good family dynamics, romance, and friendship.
Lastly, the twists in the book are really surprising, and I enjoy reading it. So I recommend this book to all; even if you are someone who does not feel like reading science fiction, you would enjoy this too.
What happens when the human experience transcends space and time, yet emotional roots remain tied to home? Enigma of Kadhir masterfully weaves theoretical physics with the complexities of human emotions, crafting a poignant narrative of love, loss, and the pursuit of truth.
This novel is fundamentally about emotional gravity, not time travel. Kadhir’s journey through time is an emotional reckoning, not just a scientific pursuit. Nisha’s presence lingers, transcending logic, and her bond with Kadhir is a poignant, fragile yet unbreakable connection that makes the book ache. The characters are not mere plot devices, but living, breathing beings that break and invite the reader to feel with them.
This writing is an immersive experience, rich in symbolism and infused with a quiet sense of wonder. The narrative effortlessly incorporates scientific concepts like memory mapping and wormhole dynamics, using them as metaphors to explore emotional journeys, fragmented memories, and the various versions of ourselves we leave behind.
If you’ve ever pondered the enduring power of love or the sacrifices required to reveal a deeper truth, this book will resonate with you. The Enigma of Kadhir is an immersive experience that evokes profound emotions and may even transform your perspective.

𝐖𝐡𝐲 𝐈 𝐝𝐞𝐜𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐨 𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬? I choose to read this book because I was interested in the synopsis. The plot sounded very interesting. Also this book is being praised a lot in my circle.
𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧: The book cover is quite simple. I personally feel that considering the intensity of the story, the book cover could have been a little better. The title is very appropriate.
𝐍𝐚𝐫𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧: The narration is direct and straight-forward. The story telling is streamlined. Overall pace is medium, keeping a balance between fast pace and slow pace. The languages more or less lucid.
𝐎𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐨𝐧: ✓Have you ever read a story that blends timelines and narrates a saga of love and sacrifice? No? Sounds interesting? Well this is the book for you then. ✓I personally found the story to be very interesting. I was absolutely hooked till the very last page and the book was very difficult to be put down. ✓All the characters mentioned in the book, be it the main character Kadhir or the side characters like Ravi, perfectly complimented the plot. ✓The story is moreorless an emotional roller coaster that will take you through the ups and downs of different kinds of interpersonal relationships. Having said this I need to mention that I particularly enjoyed Kadhir and Nisha's bonding. ✓I would not like to recommend this to the beginners because the story might feel complicated and a little lengthy, but for the frequent readers this is a must read and this should definitely be on your radar.
"Enigma of Kadhir" by Venkatesan Subramanian is a novel that beautifully and seamlessly blends the themes of love, emotions, pain, and heartbreaks into science fiction. Which is quite surprising for me!
The story starts with a devastating yet suspenseful scene that will hook you to the story from the very moment. In the next chapter we will go back in time and meet with young Kadhir and all the mysteries that surround his life. And also Kadhir's fights to rewrite his life.
The story is fast-paced mainly, but in between it slows down, especially when the science theories are given. But I still think the whole theories around relativity, time travel, and quantum mechanics are simplified by the author so that the flow of the story does not break. And the way the author puts the emotional and philosophical parts with the science part is remarkable. I thoroughly enjoyed the story.
Another thing I like about the book is even though it is a science fiction book, the author did well in fleshing out the characters and not just the main protagonists, Kadhir and Nisha, but also Arjun, Kadhir's father, etc. Overall, the story is a good one and can be a good, thrilling sci-fi romance read.
Book Review: Enigma of Kadhir by Venkatesan Subramanian
Enigma of Kadhir is an emotional sci-fi novel that really stayed with me. Big shoutout to the author, Venkatesan Subramanian, for writing such a unique and touching story.
The book follows Kadhir, who loses his mother in a tragic incident. What I loved most was how the story beautifully balances science with strong emotions. Kadhir’s love for his mother and his efforts to save her across different timelines are deeply moving. And no matter which version of reality they’re in, his mother always ends up sacrificing herself to save him. That really got me emotional.
Kadhir’s wife Nisha and their friend Arjun also play a big role in helping him solve the mystery. Their support adds a lot of warmth to the story.
The author clearly put a lot of research into quantum physics and time anomalies. Some parts were a bit hard for me to fully understand, but it didn’t stop me from enjoying the story. The science adds depth, but it’s the emotional side of the story that makes it special.
If you enjoy sci-fi stories with heart, love, and emotion, this book is definitely worth reading. It also gives off a total movie vibe—I could picture every scene while reading.
Enigma of Kadhir by Venkatesan Subramanian is a touching mix of science fiction and human emotion. The story follows Kadhir, a brilliant scientist who is heartbroken by the loss of his mother. His journey into time travel is not just about science, but about love, sacrifice, and the deep desire to hold onto the people who matter most. Kadhir’s love for his mother and the support he receives from his wife Nisha and friend Arjun give the story a lot of warmth. Even as the plot explores mysteries of time, it is the emotions—grief, longing, and hope—that really stay with the reader. The way the author blends scientific ideas with personal struggles makes the story both emotional and thought-provoking.
What I found most powerful was how the novel balances the complexity of time and physics with the simplicity of human feelings. The language used is rich and lucid, easy for the readers and even beginners to understand. The simple writing style, fast-paced narration, attractive book cover, gripping plot creates an amazing reading experience. It's a short yet interesting read which took me only few hours to finish. The characters are well developed and crafted in such a way that the emotions felt raw and real. Highly recommended.
Enigma of Kadhir is basically what happens when science, time, and a slight existential crisis walk into a bar—and drag you along for the ride.
Kadhir, our overthinking genius with a PhD in “Why is everything so weird?”, stumbles into events that make reality look like a badly programmed video game. Spoiler: nothing is as it seems, and your brain willhurt (in a good way).
Then we have Nisha—part emotional support human, part detective, all badass. She’s the kind of character who calmly decodes the chaos while the rest of us are still Googling “what is fate?” If Kadhir is the brain, Nisha is the backbone. Together? Chaos, but make it intellectual.
Arjun is the “I only believe what I can measure” guy, and watching him try to stay logical while reality dissolves is… satisfying. And Ravi? Quiet, wholesome, and low-key the emotional anchor of the whole thing. He’s that character you underestimate until you realize he’s been shaping the story from the sidelines the entire time.
If you love books that twist your brain, question everything —Enigma of Kadhir is calling. It’s trippy, smart, and kind of makes you wonder if you’re the one being observed.
