Single dad and rugged rancher Leo Halligan needs a nanny he can trust with his precious baby girl. Widowed English heiress Ella Staunton-Hawes needs to escape her world for a while and keep her toddler son safe. A live-in nanny role on Leo’s Montana ranch seems like the perfect fit.
However, Leo has trust issues and Ella hasn’t been completely forthcoming about who she really is, nor why she’s estranged from hers and her son’s families. The more time Ella spends with Leo, the more she wants to confide in him. But will her subterfuge destroy the spark of romance between them? That perfect feeling of belonging?
Leo knows Ella’s hiding something. But the children are perfect together and Ella’s winding her way into his heart and maybe they’re a family in the making. Everyone has secrets—how bad can Ella’s be?
This emotional tale of second chances, hidden secrets, and small-town charm weaves passionate cowboy romance with heartrending stakes. A must-read for fans of single parent love stories and ranch-set drama.
The final installment in this absolutely awesome series and it ticked all of the boxes for a beautiful romance, being back on the Halligan’s Ranch was fun and fabulous, it is time for Leo to hire a Nanny for his daughter Mia, who will that be?
Leo needs someone he can trust with his daughter, he has interviewed a few but not found the right one, when widowed Ella Stauton-Hawes arrives on the ranch with her nearly two year old son, Benny and his family recommend Ella and he interviews her and the only problem is that there is a spark between them which shouldn’t be there, so some rules will have to be made.
Ella is loving looking after Mia and Benny things are going really well except for the fact that Leo is continually hovering, he seems to have trust issues but then Ella has secrets that she is holding close for good reasons but the spark between them is growing daily, how much longer will they be able to ignore that and keep their relationship professional or maybe more?
Leo feels that Ella is keeping something from him and when it starts to came out he is stunned to learn about her past can he keep her on as his Nanny there are so many questions that need answering, will they find a way?
This is a beautiful story it is emotional, moving and witty, the banter between them made me smile and chuckle throughout. Ella is witty, strong and so very caring and loving still after all she has been through and Leo and Ella make the perfect couple, he is there for her once he gets over his trust issues, I loved him, strong, fun, loving and caring. I loved this one so much, I didn’t want it to end, I do highly recommend this one and the series, awesome reads that will bring happy tears to any reader.
My thanks to Tule Publishing for my digital copy to read and review.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book, given to me by Tule Publishing via BookFunnel. All thoughts and opinions are my own. A cute romance between two single parents, “The Cowboy Takes a Nanny”, by Kaz Delaney, blends attraction and passion with caring for the little ones while showing each lead dealing with emotional baggage and a past loaded with secrets. Leo and Ella are lovable, caring people. I liked watching their interactions between them, and with the family and the little ones. Both leads have reasons to be wary of romance, but the heroine is really full of intriguing secrets. There’s a lot of telling, internal thoughts about the attraction, and admiring physical attributes (her beauty, his virility), which didn’t captivate me.
A rugged cowboy, a widowed heiress, and two adorable kids… what more could you want from a small-town Montana romance?
When Leo Halligan, a single dad with deep trust issues, hires a live-in nanny to help with his baby girl, he doesn’t expect someone like Ella Staunton-Hawes. Elegant, mysterious, and clearly running from something, Ella fits into ranch life surprisingly well—but she’s not being completely honest about who she is or why she’s there.
As the walls between them start to crumble, sparks fly and hearts open, but secrets always have a way of coming to light. Ella’s past could unravel everything they’ve built—unless love is strong enough to hold it all together.
This book delivers a perfect blend of tender moments, slow-burn chemistry, and the kind of family warmth that leaves you smiling. If you love second chances, hidden identity, and small-town charm with emotional depth, this one’s for you.

Rugged rancher Leo Halligan is stuck between a rock and a hard place. He desperately needs a nanny to care for his baby daughter, Mia. Hope, Mia's mother, had died of cancer. It was only after her death that Leo learned about Mia.
He's not had much success in finding a nanny to care for Mia who meets his standards. Of the current candidates, the obvious choice is the English widow, Ella Staunton-Hawes. He senses she's not telling him everything, but she is qualified, and she can care for her young son, Benny, at the same time. He had hoped that his sister, Joey, who has been helping with Mia's care, would immediately dislike Ella, but both she and Mia instantly accepted Ella. Ella seems to be perfect for the nanny job; that's what worries him—she seems to be too perfect... His family is beginning to mention that he's the problem.
Ella is hired, and she and Benny fit seamlessly into the lives of Leo, Mia, and his extended family. Mia and Benny become immediate best friends. Two-year-old Benny even shifts into Big Brother protection mode.
Ella and Emile, Benny's father, both came from old-wealth families and had been childhood friends. Both had fathers who found it impossible to honor wedding vows, and both had been serial grooms until they decided to forgo the additional marriages.
Although Ella and Emile loved one another, they were never in love with the other. When Emile needed to protect Benny, Ella stepped in and married Emile.
Ella was just about to confess the secrets she's kept hidden from Leo and explain everything when her father, Lord Thorvane, shows up at Leo's door with Alicia Wallace, a distant cousin of Ella's mother. Thinking Ella has already explained everything to Leo, he drops a bombshell. Leo feels gutted and flees. Will he calm down enough to even listen to Ella's explanation? Or will this betrayal be too much to ever excuse?

The Cowboy Takes a Nanny follows the journey of Ella and Leo. The characters are well developed and beautifully executed throughout the story. The chemistry between the main characters is undeniably irresistible to the point where neither one of them could no longer ignore the feelings developing between one another. I absolutely enjoyed getting to know both Ella and Leo as well as seeing their feelings for each other grow stronger as their story progresses forward through the pages of this incredible Montana Cowboy romance. The characters are quite entertaining, interesting and intriguing all at the same time. I do love that Ella and Leo have a happy ending to their story with them being happy together as a couple raising their children together. The Cowboy Takes a Nanny is beautifully written, amazingly balanced and phenomenally executed by Kaz Delaney. She continues to showcase what an incredibly author she is with each book I’ve read by her thus far. She creates and writes phenomenal cowboy romance novels that I absolutely LOVE reading. I’m looking forward to reading more phenomenal romances by Kaz Delaney in the future. I would HIGHLY recommend this book for anyone who is looking for a new Montana Cowboy romance novel to read.

The Cowboy Takes A Nanny ~ The Halligans of Montana #4 by Kaz Delaney.
Message to the Family of Kaz Delaney
Please accept my sincere condolences on the passing of Kaz. I only recently discovered her work through The Halligans of Montana series, and it has been such a joy to read. Her stories brought warmth, heart, and so much enjoyment. She was clearly a talented and special writer.
My Review – The Cowboy Takes a Nanny (The Halligans of Montana #4) by Kaz Delaney
I thoroughly enjoyed this final book in what has been a brilliant series. The chemistry between Ella and Leo was electric, and I was hooked from the very beginning.
Ella’s past and the secrets she carries add so much depth to her character, leaving the reader to wonder: Will her history tear them apart? Will she return to her old life in England—or will she and Leo find their happily ever after together?
The Cowboy Takes a Nanny is beautifully written, and the characters come to life on the page. I was completely engaged from start to finish. I highly recommend this series to all romance readers—it’s heartfelt, captivating, and unforgettable.
This was an exceptionally written novel with a beautiful story that had all the feels. It’s an emotional read filled with past grief, loss, both Leo and Ella have trust issues, but Ella has secrets she holds close to her heart and fears for her son, Benny’s safety but sparks fly the moment they meet. Leo needs a nanny for his daughter, Mia, and his family all think Ella is perfect for the job. All the candidates he interviewed left him wary. When he hires Ella, he has a tendency to hover, but Ella proves to be a very caring, loving and protective mother and nanny. A slow burn between the main characters, but will her secrets destroy the bond between them. I highly recommend this book.

What an emotional story! So well written with great characters. This is Leo and Ella’s story. It is also the last story in the Halligans of Montana series. I am sad to see it end. But I know Kaz will blow us away with her next book. Leo and Ella have a lot of baggage. But Leo needs a nanny for his daughter Mia and it looks like Ella is the one for the job. They get off to a rocky start because Leo is hovering. But I absolutely loved the banter between the two of them and watching their relationship grow. This is a solid 5 ⭐️ read! Thank you Tule Publishing for this ARC in return for my honest review.
Single dad Leo Halligan needs a nanny for his daughter Mia. Ella and her son Benny need a place to stay. Leo gives her the job and it comes with room and board. The more time Leo and Ella spend together the stronger the chemistry becomes. Leo has this feeling that Ella is hiding something from him. The question is when Ella's secret comes out will it change everything for them? I loved their story. From the moment I began reading it I was draw in and I honestly could not put it down. I highly recommend. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
The Cowboy takes a Nanny is book 4 in the Halligans of Montana series by Kaz Delaney and the final book in the series 4.5 stars
Leo needs a nanny for his baby daughter Mia, Ella needs a place to hide with her son Benny. He knows she is hiding something or from someone.. with sparks flying between them, there are trust issues, emotional, grief, secrets, mending broken hearts but when it all comes out can they find their HEA. Only time will tell…
Side note: Thank you for sharing this final book and condolences to the Delaney family, may you find peace and comfort 🩷

Leo needs a nanny to look after his baby daughter, Mia, Ella needs a job where she can have her son, Benny, with her, trouble is they're both trying to ignore the chemistry between them! Ella is hiding secrets, she trusts Leo but doesn't want to burden him with her problems and, anytime she starts to tell him they're interrupted! When Leo finds out what she's been hiding how will he react? Ella is a really strong, protective mother trying to provide Benny with a life and love that she never had. Leo is supportive and protective.

A great end to the series from Kaz, may she rest in peace.
Oh this story is so heartwarming. And Leo and Ella are such wonderful characters, that really belong together, if any couple ever did it is these two. Such an engaging storyline as more and more of Ella’s history is revealed. I highly recommend this one.
This was a wonderful emotionally charged read that i absolutely loved. Leo and Ella's story was one of surprising sarcasm and hilarity, emotional connection, and love that is strong enough to cross any boundary. I loved how Leo's daughter, Mia, and Ella's son, Benny, brought them closer and became each other's "sibbling". They were so sweet. This book was well worth the emotional rollercoaster you're going to go on. It was wonderful!
The final book in the Halligans of Montana Series with single father, Leo, getting his HEA. The Cowboy Takes a Nanny by Kaz Delaney has lots of surprises and unexpected twists though there are clues along the way concerning a major one. Two likable characters struggling in their relationship, Leo and Ella, have two precious little ones that have no problems getting along. Witty, sassy banter between the adults, an attraction that refuses to be ignored and family that loves to meddle, this story is a pleasure to read.
The series is one of my favorites by Kaz Delaney. I recommend to all who enjoy a story where all is right by the conclusion.
A heartwarming small town romance. I loved the characters, the banter and the slow burn chemistry. I enjoyed Ella and Leo’s journey as they let their guard down allow themselves to get past their trust issues and help each other to heal. It’s an emotional well written story.
Great addition to this series and saying goodbye to Halligan Family. Wonderful story, sweet romance with hilarious dialogues will bring the smile on your face. Enjoy reading and keep this books in your library.

Elle knows this job is important to her and her sons future, but even though she can't dismiss her own worries. Starting over in America protecting her son and grieving her son's father was all taking its toll, and looking at Leo and his gorgeous daughter Mia she knew this job it was the right move. Leo was at a loss his family blamed him for all the previous nannies networking out, but this is his daughter and finding the right nanny was important. He'd made a promise to protect her alwaysand she was his main priority losing her mother he was all she had. Both characters have chemistry which they ignore from the outset. Can Elle maintain her hidden secrets. Can Leo let himself trust again. Can Marietta work its magic and mend their broken hearts. Or will Ella's biggest fear come knocking with both her worlds colliding. This is yet another brilliant story that just draws you to the kindness and love Ella has for both children and maybe the annoying cowboy. But will love be enough or will her secrets prove to much and shatter all trust.
Excellent read with a lot of heart. Tragedy and some unsettling circumstances changed the trajectory of both the lives of Leo and Ella leading them together creating a beautiful story. Adore the characters, their stories and their growth
I voluntarily read an advanced reader’s copy of this book for an honest opinion.
The Cowboy Takes a Nanny by Kaz Delaney. A great book four in The Halligans of Montana series. I enjoyed everything about this book great character development, dialogue that pulled me in from the first chapter, and likable characters.
A perfect and final conclusion to Kaz Delaney’s fabulous series, The Halligans of Montana. Book four is Leo Halligan’s story. We’ve met him in the previous three books. He is a single dad, former rodeo champion and now living and working on his family’s ranch. Leo has been looking for a nanny to take care of his sweet baby daughter Mia since the loss of her mother. Through his family’s recommendations, he interviews and hires Ella Staunton-Hawes. Ella has a toddler son named Ben and seems perfect for Mia’s nanny. Leo is concerned because he immediately notices chemistry between them and believes he needs to only focus on Mia.
As time passes, they all four fall in routines and everything is going well. Ella shares a little about her past with Leo. She’s a young widow with family in Europe that had wealth. However, he feels there is more she’s not telling him and he worries what it could be because he doesn’t want anything to endanger his daughter. He shares about tragedies in his past relationships and his trust issues. Ella fits in great with his brothers’ significant others and is happy in her new life. She is afraid to share everything about her and Ben’s past with Leo for fear it will drive him away. Ella continues to wrestle with the decision about disclosing everything to him. She doesn’t want to do anything to jeopardize her and Ben’s current situation. Ella starts developing strong feelings for Leo and he feels the same, but they keep this to themselves until it becomes apparent.
This is a beautiful love story with lots of angst, romance and past heartbreaks. Leo and Ella make a lovely couple and with their children form a perfect family. I so enjoy books set in Marietta, Montana as this series is. The Halligan family as created by Kaz was a great group of people with lots of interesting stories. The characters are all very genuine and I was glad to see them in all of the books. This book had secrets, intrigue and lots of surprises. I am a huge fan of books with secret babies and other surprises as this series has.
I have read many books by Kaz Delaney and loved them all. I was deeply saddened to learn of her passing and so thankful that this book, her final one, was able to be published. As with all her others, this is a five star book that I’m honored to recommend to everyone. My condolences to her family on their loss.
I was fortunate to receive this ARC from Tule Publishing in exchange for my honest review.
The Cowboy Takes a Nanny is the fourth (and final) title in The Halligans of Montana series. This is a difficult review to write, because it was Kaz Delaney’s final novel, as she passed away not that long ago. My sympathies to her family and her audience. I have loved her writing, and this series in particular, and I can frankly say as a reader, her voice, her imagination, and her stories will be missed greatly.
Ella isn’t exactly on the run, but she is keeping a very low profile. She has secrets that she cannot trust anyone with, and protecting her son, Benny, will always come first for her. Leo is in desperate need of a nanny to care for his daughter, Mia. He hires Ella, invites her and her son to live at his ranch as she cares for both children. The attraction between them cannot be dismissed, although each is trying very hard not to acknowledge it.
Trust isn’t easily given for either Ella or Leo, but once given, the pain of learning the entire truth after that declaration of love is too much for Leo, and he’ll lash out. Watching this couple work through that difficult time was both heartwrenching and heartwarming. They really do fit so well together as a couple and as a family, that eventually, hearts will be mended. It’s just going to be an emotional journey to get to the happy ending.
If you love a well-written, emotional, heartfelt romance, then The Cowboy Takes a Nanny by Kaz Delaney would be a perfect fit. I will be rereading this series, often, it’s that good.
*I received an e-ARC of this novel from the author or the author's team via Booksprout, and I sincerely thank them for their trust. It is my choice to leave a review giving my personal opinion about this book.*
We have come full circle in this series with the story of Leo and Ella ... and Mia and Benny. Mia was the catalyst in the first book for Evie to come looking for Leo who was the babies father. Hope, who Leo had a romance with that resulted in Mia's conception, has passed away. Needless to say Leo wasn't around and romance ensued for Evie and JD, the eldest Halligan. Now the other family are settled, Leo has taken responsibility for Mia and is dedicating his life to his little girl. He does need a nanny, of course, and Ellie is looking for work that will allow her to keep her son Bennie with her. Ellie is a bit of a mystery. English by birth and Bennie's father was French. She's keeping a low profile while living in Montana, determined to prove herself a good single mother to Bennie. It was inevitable that the two single parents would connect. After all they have common ground. Except that the attraction goes a lot further for both of them. Because of Leo's vow to prioritise Mia and Ellie's similar dedication to Bennie, a relationship is forbidden. It's especially hard for Ellie who finds herself drawn into the larger Halligan family, making friends with the other women. She could see herself staying in Montana but her circumstances make it tricky. I really enjoyed seeing Leo (and Mia) get their happy ending with Ellie and Bennie making a perfect inclusion to their little family. The whole series is nicely rounded off with that conclusion. This will be the last Kaz Delaney book, I understand, so it was lovely that she managed to finish this series with a little help at the end.

A Heartfelt Blend of Secrets, Second Chances, and Slow-Burn Cowboy Swoon!!!
Kaz Delaney delivers a truly touching romance in The Cowboy Takes a Nanny—a story about healing, trust, and finding love where you least expect it. This book hit all the right notes for me: heartfelt, honest, and packed with emotional depth.
Leo Halligan is the kind of cowboy hero you can't help but root for—gruff, protective, and a devoted single dad doing his best to raise his baby girl. When Ella Staunton-Hawes, a widowed English heiress with a few secrets of her own, arrives at his Montana ranch to take on the role of live-in nanny, sparks begin to fly—but so do suspicions.
Ella is kind, nurturing, and determined to protect her son at all costs. But as she and Leo grow closer, so do the stakes. The chemistry between them is undeniable, but the emotional tension keeps the pages turning. Will secrets unravel everything they’ve built—or reveal something even deeper?
What I loved most was how real these characters felt. Their hesitations, their fears, their tenderness—it all wove into a beautifully layered love story with a strong sense of place and a hopeful message about family and forgiveness.
This book is perfect for fans of small-town romances with emotional depth, charming kids, protective cowboys, and women who are stronger than they know. The Cowboy Takes a Nanny is more than a love story—it’s about building something lasting, one moment of trust at a time.

Leo Halligan needs a nanny for his sweet little girl and when Ella Staunton- Howes applies for the position, he is not sure if this English widow with a young son is the best idea, but he will give it a go. Even with his trust issues, Leo feels the pull of attraction to this young mother, because he knows in the back of his mind that Ella is keeping something back and when he finds out the real truth will he let her go or will she earn his trust as she has earned his love.
I loved Ella and Leo as a couple, they both had so much in common. They loved their kids and would do anything to protect them. But once Leo learns Ella's secret, could they still become the family they both want and need.
This book is so full of emotion and heart you will be cheering for Leo and Ella and little Mia and Benny to have their HEA. It brings together all the Halligans and their future partners and kids to give Ella and Benny a real home and most of all family. Once again the magic of Marietta brings couples together and gives them a home and love.

First I would like to tell the family of Kaz how sorry I am to hear of her passing. I have enjoyed her books for a number of years and they will be missed. She had a way of writing that just drew you into the story as if you were right there with the characters. All of her books are so good and Kaz brought me many years of enjoyment. This book was no exception and I highly recommend it to all. I enjoyed reading it and I know you will too.
This is a book about single dad Leo Halligan and how he is in dire need of a nanny for his precious baby girl, Mia. And widowed English heiress Ella Staunton-Hawes needs somewhere where she and her two year old son Benny can feel safe. What better place then a ranch in Montana so she get the live in position.
Benny just adores Mia and the feeling is mutual. Mia is learning a lot from Benny and Ella adores them both. Ella and Leo are growing close as well. But she is keeping a big secret from Leo and she wants to tell him but can never find just the right time to confide in him.
We are back in Montana where single dad Leo Halligan gets his story. Leo is in need of a nanny for his 11 month old baby girl. A baby he’s been taking care of since her birth. Meanwhile, single English mom, Ella Staunton-Hawes and her young 2 year old boy, recently moved to Montana. She knows she can do the job . Even happier when it offers room and board for her and her little boy. As the four of them spend time together, feelings develop between the adults and the children seem to be happiest together. But Ella is full of secrets and those will likely break the idyllic life they have created. What happens when Ella’s past comes to Montana and she’s forced not only to see them, but to face Leo with the lies of omission? This was an engaging story filled with heart, love, family or lack thereof, and second chances in life and love. I was entrusted a copy of this book by Tule Publishing . The opinions expressed are solely my own.
A runaway heiress turned Nanny and her son. A surprise single dad and his daughter. Can these two lower their walls and become the couple that everyone knows they can be?
A wonderful story of learning to trust, learning to love again, and letting the truth of their pasts become known to each other. I laughed out loud when Emma had a comeback for everything Leo said. Their attraction to each other was evident from the beginning. The kids, Benny and Ava, were just so lovable.
I enjoyed this book from beginning to end. This is the 4th and last installment of this series. My condolences to the family of Author Kaz Delaney who passed away earlier this year. She was a bright light in the book world and will be missed
This is the first book from this series and from this author that I have read and it was sad to read the news about the author. I enjoyed getting to know all the characters and trying to guess Ella's secrets. I loved the way Ella stood up to Leo and how well she fit into his family, I did want to shake them both at times for what they did and didn't say and for how they reacted to some things. I believed in the connection between Leo and Ella and thought they made a good family, I enjoyed seeing them, Benny and Mia together.

I enjoyed reading "The Cowboy Takes A Nanny' by Kaz Delaney. Leo lost his significant other, Hope, to cancer and Ella lost her husband in a tragic accident. Now they are both single parents. Ella agrees to be a nanny to Leo's daughter and as a bonus she and her two year old son have a place to stay. On the surface, this looks like a win-win for all parties, except nothing is ever that easy. Leo and Ella are highly attracted to each other, and Ella appears to be hiding something that could impact both of them.
