"This is how I die. Harlow Johnson, found frozen stiff in her car because she was too stubborn to stay in a town where everyone thought she wasn't woman enough to keep her man satisfied."
I laugh, but it comes out as more of a strangled sob.
"The universe has a sick sense of humor, doesn't it? Twenty-seven years of playing by the rules, and what do I get? My fiancé screwing another woman while I'm planning our wedding. My parents taking his side. The entire town treating me like I'm the villain."
I really enjoyed this book. Harlow being cheated on by her crappy gaslighting fiancé, a well loved sheriff, and being the talk of the town pissed me off. Almost hitting a moose, losing control of her car, and nearly freezing to death was just another punch in the face from life. Brothers Malachi, Auten, and Zeke find her car half buried in the snow in a ditch and bring her home- too far from a hospital in blizzard conditions to make it there without her dying of hyperthermia. I liked the guys. They were kind, attentive, and apparently have more sense than her parents, so-called friends, and the people in her town somehow blaming her for Davis' cheating. They open their home to her without hesitation. I liked the way their relationship with her develops. There's some drama and suspense from the ex (always love a bit of drama!). A fun story.
Just to note- this story is MFMM not MMF as the three men are brothers. This isn't the first time I've read a story labeled MMF that isn't because the men are related (and no incest obviously). I really hate when that happens because I love MMF and when I go in expecting it and there's no MM relationship or intimacy because the men are family members, I get really disappointed. Authors please be careful not to use the MMF label if there's no MM romance in it.
