Five years ago, I disappeared with his parting gift— Now that “gift” is five, fierce, and gives him the same look I did the night he broke me.
Lesson never trust a man. Especially not the sinfully hot alpha your dad tried to trade you to— The one who kissed you like a fever dream, then proposed to your sugar-coated snake of a sister. I left with a secret in my belly and a No more begging. No more bonds.
Now I run an herbal empire, wear silver daggers like jewelry, and a daughter who bites. And him? He’s back. With roses, blood oaths, and disturbingly good dad instincts. Trying to charm the kid he doesn’t know is his.
He wants redemption? Sure. Let him survive my witch bestie, his unhinged ex— and the one girl who means everything to me.
3.5 (possible spoilers ahead) Woah, there was a lot that happened in this story. The spice level was a 2. It was kind of vanilla
h had a shite family. Her half sister is awful and abuses her. H came to town to make a treaty. He was an alpha.
H and h meet and they know instantly they are fated mates. He doesn’t believe in fated mates. Due to his parents, he thinks fated mates are a curse/weakness.
H decides evil sister is the better choice (dumb arse) H publicly rejects h and it’s so sad. The poor h is so heartbroken, especially considering he is marrying her evil sister.
A few weeks later after a party, H sneaks into h’s medical tent and they shag all night long. Ummmm, the next day he’s mad as hell because he was drugged and thinks h drugged him. He said some very harsh things to her (I wanted to smack him)
h decides to leave after a maid told her about a witch who could break her mate bond. She wandered for about 5 weeks. The witch is nice and tells her she can’t break the bond because h is pregnant.
During all this, H realizes he may have made a mistake. Duh! He overhears evil sister admit she’s the one who drugged him that night. He is searching for h everywhere.
5 years later and h has a daughter 🤪
Now for the strangeness- evil sister shows up at H’s place and puts some type of dark curse on him. He’s mated to her now??????? Not sure, but he takes off and wanders in the woods for a few weeks, then meets his daughter. The good witch took him and cured him??????
He literally ignores his pack for months trying to grovel to h to take him back. h is stubborn asf. (I was confused by this point) So H is doing everything to win h back. He keeps showing up at her medicine shop.
Eventually evil sister shows up and poisons all h’s medicine. It’s worked out quickly when other good witches help her out.
Then evil sister kidnaps the daughter. The war breaks out, and it’s over quickly. H is wounded, but the “mate” mark heals him. It never really explains what happens to the evil sister, but I guess she was killed by her sister aka h. 🤷♀️
A few months later is the wedding between H and h. HEA
I feel like this book should have gone into more detail about the bad people’s deaths. h’s dad- what happens with him? No brutal death? He deserved it
Y’ALL. This book? It reached into my chest, pulled out my heart, stomped on it in boots, then handed it back wrapped in a baby blanket and laced with fangs. And I ate up every single word.
Reclaiming His Lost Mate gave me everything I didn’t know I was starving for: second chance romance with actual weight, a heroine who glowed up and got savage, and a single-mama storyline that had me fist-pumping through every scene her daughter growled at people. Flora R. Leigh wasn’t playing—this is a story of heartbreak, rage, survival, and finally reclaiming what was yours all along.
The tension between them? SCORCHING. I mean, five years of pain, betrayal, secrets—and the moment they see each other again? I felt that slap of emotional whiplash. He’s over here trying to make amends like “I brought flowers,” and she’s like “I brought daggers.” And I loved her for it.
Our girl did what she had to do—walked away pregnant and alone, turned her grief into power, and built her own damn queendom with herbs, grit, and the cutest little wildling of a daughter who absolutely stole the show. And him? Oh, he’s groveling. Like, real grovel. Alpha wolf style. And honestly? He earned my forgiveness, but she made him work for it, and that made it all the more satisfying.
This isn’t just a spicy reunion romance—it’s a story about strength, boundaries, and learning to choose yourself before you let anyone else in again. And the magic? The sisterhood? The protective mama instincts? 10/10.
Reclaiming His Lost Mate By Flora R. Leigh was a good read. I love the rejected mate-secret baby trope. MFC, Selina, was easy to like. She was kind but didn't take MMC Alexis's crap. Did she try to work things out? Yes, but she refused to be put down. Selina wasn't a pushover and made him work for it. Alexis was a jerk. I know most male characters in this trope aren't framed in the best of light, but he could have handled things a lot better. His only saving grace was that he put in the effort with his apology.
The plot was enjoyable. Selina had a successful business as a herbalist and made a great life for herself. Once again, Flora included some of the indigenous culture in this book. I was also pleasantly surprised to realize that this book was set in the same world as a previous book (different series) I read of Flora's. I enjoyed the natural remedy aspects, and the magic is always interesting. The villain wasn't surprising, but still a good choice; this character caused a lot of my rage. The height of the conflict didn't occur until the end, but justice was served. This was a really enjoyable read.
Wonderfully written and keep my attention from the start.
Nightwing Pack, Selina, 20, b@st@rd daughter of the Alpha with an evil witch of a half sister, Marrisa. Shadow Moon Pack’s Alpha Alexis, 25. Selina has been tormented by her sister when their father brought Selina into his pack after her mother passed away and their father doesn’t really care about her only as a pawn to secure an alliance if the Alpha picks her. Turns fate made Selina and Alexis fated when they first scented each other but Alexis won’t fall into the fated trap that killed his parents and refuse to let history repeat so after a single dance with the evil stepsister, Alexis rejects Selina as his fated mate and agrees to marry and make the stepsister his new Luna and basically tells Selina forget about anything and stay away. Tunes out Alexis didn’t follow his advice and a drugging incident changes Selina’s life and the words he spewed didn’t help, so she ran away to find a witch to help her and the bond and after her departure not a single person came to look for her, for 5 years….
The constant misuse of vocabulary (I believe in this book one example was smothering vs smoothing) is distracting. I did read another book by the author that was worse with continuity and actually repeated a full paragraph with different phrasing, flipped a characters hair color, completely swapped out names, etc. The books could really use a thorough edit.
Also, the setting is confusing. They’re in the middle of the woods in a village tucked away in a valley, hidden by magic, and it’s impossible to find this witch! But by the end of the book, they’re video calling each other on laptops. How is there electricity out there? The heroine runs an herb shop to supply healing draughts and beauty potions, but the alpha gets a text message from his beta. There’s cell service? The herb supplier in the middle of the forest is wearing white sneakers?
A great story full of fated mates, romance, betrayal, poison, magic, second chances and love, with a strong willed FMC, a few twists and a HEA.
When Alexis rejects Selina for her evil sister, seeing her as a better choice and not believing in fated mates, he breaks Selina's heart. But a few weeks later after a party he finds her tent and they spend the night together, but in the morning accuses her of drugging him so she leaves to get magical help to break her bond with him.
Five years later she's made a life and business for herself when Alexis finds her again and she finds herself still drawn to him as their bond is still strong. But can she forgive him and how will he react when he realises he might be a father?

Selina's father is the Alpha of their pack and he's trying to make a deal with Alpha Alexis of a neighbor pack. To make the deal Alexis will marry either Selina or her half sister Marissa. But Selina and Alexis are fated mates. But due to a bad experience with his mom and dad's mate Bond he chose to reject her in front of her pack and choose her sister. What doesn't make sense to me is he's all about his Pack's welfare and after choosing the sister he witnessed her cruelty first hand that he was still going to go through with marrying her that doesn't make sense to me. All In All I thought it was a really good book I think the intimate scenes should really use some work because they were kind of flat.

Truly heartbreaking at the beginning. I couldn’t stop wiping tears away. Alexis fought tooth and nail to remedy his biggest mistake. He accepted his fate with open arms and embraced the love he has for Selina.
Selina is strong fmc who doesn’t cave in to Alexis at the first sign. She makes him grovel so much I am so proud lol. Alexis never gives up and understands every time she shuts him down.
Couldn’t finish so I read a summary. Drama for the sake of drama. Of course a Fated Mate situation might be hard if you already fell in love with someone else first. But Alexis your situation is different. For an Alpha he’s not very smart. He’d rather marry someone who is cruel than the woman he admits is kind just because of the fated bond?!? Make it make sense. And why did Marissa wait 5 years to trap him? Also the witch is hard to find but in the end, everyone finds her.
I loved it… Selina’s fated mate Alpha Alexis, rejected her and instead decided to marry her evil stepsister Marissa. Unable to endure the constant ridicule and caustic comments Selina decided to move on. However, it’s not as easy as she had hoped and she’s left with more than just trust issues… I received a free copy of this book. This review was posted voluntarily.
The characters are believable and it is a nice easy read. I recommend reading it as part of the series. There are a few steamy scenes but they go with the story and just aren’t thrown in there .
Not good. I couldn’t get into the story! Too much drama, I couldn’t get into the story, both mains characters were infuriating and not relatable. I skipped too many bits of the story because it annoyed me so much.
I’ve read quite a few of Flora Leigh’s books, I am a sucker for a rejected mate book I can relax with, and not have to think to hard, but I really truly want to know who Elio and Stella are because I don’t know what book they are from!!
Love Flora R Leigh books!!! You laugh and cry and feel love and despair but always Hope! Love seeing the solutions to relationship problems and of course the sex is mind boggleing!
I did want to put this novel down. It a Cinderella story of half sisters one kind and giving, one who strives for power and position. An Alpha with inter conflict, about belonging love and the meaning of why his need for her is so great
