The title story features the relationship between a pushy doggy type and an anxious cafe clerk, there're also other stories that deliver how stupidly painful and earnest, love in high-school can be!

Im Debut Ogeretsu Tanakas wird bereits deutlich, welche Art von Charakteren sie gern erschafft. Ich liebe es, dass sie Seiten, Eigenschaften und Makel, die nunmal zu den Menschen gehören so natürlich in ihre Protagonisten einfließen lässt. Das führt wiederum dazu, dass nicht alle davon Sympathiebolzen sind. Etwas, das ich großartig finde, denn dadurch beweist sie, dass man nicht jeden Hauptcharakter mögen muss, um die Geschichte selbst gern zu lesen.
Dass sie es selbst in Kurzgeschichten schafft den handelnden Personen ihre Essenz zu einzuflößen und diese lebendig wirken zu lassen, ist bemerkenswert.

In ‚Love is a Studpid Thing‘ thematisiert sie in drei kurzen Geschichten die Themen Jungfräulichkeit, Schikane, Lügen und in allen dreien sind Misskommunikation, aber auch Verständnis und teilweise Reflektion zu finden.

Hätte nicht Tanaka darauf gestanden, wär ich wahrscheinlich nie auf die Idee gekommen, diesen Band zu lesen, da Kurzgeschichten in der Regel keinen Nerv bei mir treffen.
Dennoch war das Lesen kurzweilig und unterhaltsam und das obwohl ich viele der Charaktere eher als unangenehm over the top empfand. Gleichzeitig muss ich sagen, dass ich glaube, dass gute Short Storys auch nicht ohne extreme Charaktere oder Plottwists funktionieren. Jedenfalls werden sie mir dadurch im Gedächtnis bleiben.

1st couple : 2 stars, dislike the selfish uke
2nd couple : 1 star, hate the asshole seme, a potential abusive hubby in the future
3rd couple : 2 stars, dislike both seme and uke

Story about idiots fall in love with idiots. If you want something different like story about idiots, read this one, because you might appreciate it as 'realistic' (because there are idiots in RL) and refreshing (because they are different from the usual).

Von den drei Kurzgeschichten im Mange fand ich vor allem die erste und zweite super gut. Vor allem die zweite brachte nochmal frischen Wind herein und war sehr emotional.
Alles im allen ein schöner Manga mit tollen Illustrationen, lesenswert. ✨

This manga is a compilation of 3 different stories. If each of them were made into separate books, the stories would probably be more interesting since the author would have more opportunities to explore the plot and characters in depth.
