All your Marvel favorites in swimsuits! I am only basing my rating on the art. I think that issues like this connect with long time comic readers in a way that is fun. Nice to think that even SH take time off and go to the beach to have fun...time to unwind before being called upon to save the world yet again. See you next summer!
An attempt to return to glory of old, with a new Marvel Swimsuit Special. Unlike the previous efforts though, this issue does use a bit of a narrative to explain why your beloved superheroes are in bathing suits and beachwear. It's not a sophisticated story by any means - Tim Seeley and Tony Fleecs basically compile a meta-narrative that takes into account the modern realities of corporations, consumerism and the social media landscape. It's funny and silly, and works well enough. The pinups are of course the main draw, and they're mostly just fine. Nothing salacious (not that the original issues were either), but nice enough.
I really liked several of the pictures. And while I appreciated that there was a Dory giving a reason for the existence of the book, there was way too much story it did not need more than a couple pages at the beginning and end. but it seemed like it was over half the issue. That's a waste. I'm here for the pin-ups. I'd love a greater variety of artists as well. so a nice try but could definitely be improved.
This was very humorous. I wasn't really sure what to expect, having not read any of the previous swimsuit issues, but I liked the art interspersed between the story.
The story itself was interesting in the fact that it talked about AI imagery and it was funny to see the avengers jumping to different teams locations to ask them for help.
Całość perfekcyjnie puentują ostatnie zdanie i kadry.
it was a little embarrassing handing this to a worker to pay for but…
honestly really good for a swimsuit issue! i thought the storyline was actually pretty funny and topical for the terrible world we live in now with ai. i was on the fence about buying until i saw the rogue + gambit illustration and the captain marvel one. such good art! oh waiter!! more of these please!
The story takes up a good chunck of the book and is only explaining the existence of the issue in the loosest possible way. The art is the main reason people pick up issues like this. There is a decent variety on display here. I really enjoyed the pages that showed our heroes having a good time just relaxing and partying. The are fun little details to look for in those pages.
I mean, the story barely held together, but usually weren’t not interested in the stories for a swimsuit edition. So the art was hit and miss for me, but at least it was fun.
