Very little happens in this book. The characters are bland, not even given token personalities, and the plot is nothing, with little happening and even less explained.

OMG!!! WOW!! Fab*u*lous Absolutely love this one!! I couldn't put this one down. This was a nice quick, short read.
Hayes and Elise have known one another for a while, he's her father's best friend. Elise decides to go to Alaska where Hayes lives. Elise has wanted to know about Alaska since when her father went he never took her. Elise is out on a hike when an unexpected snow storm hits and she gets trapped in a cave. Elise's father calls Hayes to come rescue her. Hayes takes Elise back to his cabin where he gets her warmed up by the fire. Hayes lets Elise have his bed for the night. The next morning Hayes has breakfast made for Elise when she wakes. With nothing to do Elsie wander around Hayes's cabin and looks at his pictures. Hayes gives Elise a coat and they head outside, where he takes her snowshoeing. Then Hayes and Elise have a snowball fight then head back inside to warm up. With nothing else to do Elise decides to pay a game with Hayes. Hayes and Elsie start drinking, then she kisses him. Hayes puts a stop to it because he doesn't want to take her like this, he tells Elise to get some sleep they'll talk in the morning. The snow storm picks up overnight, Hayes tries to avoid eye contact with Elise. Hayes finds an old flannel shirt and gives it to Elise to wear. Elise looks for board games to play but Hayes doesn't have any. Elise finds a checkers game and set it up for them to play. After dinner they sit by the fire and Hayes asks Elise if she's ever whittled before. Hayes teaches Elise a simple heart, and she keeps it for the memories. Hayes then kisses Elise, then he pleasures her then they make love. When Hayes wakes the next morning Elise is in his arms. Elise asks Hayes to show her how to chop wood, so they head outside. When they come back inside Hayes makes them lunch Elise asks him if he's ever thought about the future and if she's in it. When evening comes they're curled up on the sofa when there's a knock on the door. Hayes answers to find Elise's father. Elise's father asks Hayes to step outside so that he can have a word with him. Elise's father asks him what he's doing, she's his daughter. Hayes tells Elise's father she's not a kid anymore, but he tells Hayes that people will be talking. Elise's father tells Hayes he's taking her home, when Hayes heads inside he sees Elise is already getting ready to go. Hayes doesn't fight for Elise, and lets her go. Elise is back home in her apartment, the days blur together. A few weeks after Elise returned home her father came to visit her. Elise's father asks her if she's mad at him, she tells him she gets it he's her dad. Elise tells her father she knows he was protecting her. Elise's father tells her he knows she misses Hayes, he just wanted to make sure she was making the right decision. Elise's father goes and opens the door and Hayes is standing there. Hayes tells Elise her dad and him had a talk, then he kisses her. Hayes apologizes for letting her go, Elise tells him she's sorry for not trying harder. Hayes tells her he loves her and Elise tells him she loves him too. Hayes asks Elise if she wants him to come in and she tells him no she wants to go home to his cabin. A few hours later, Elise is in Hayes truck headed to his cabin. A few months later, Elise is busy baking. Hayes has carved a surprise for Elise. Hayes asks Elise if she can come outside for a minute, then when she sees what he's been working on she's shocked. Hayes then pulls a ring out of his pocket, and asks Elise to marry him and she tells him yes. Elise tells Hayes he's stuck with her now and Hayes tells Elise he wouldn't have it any other way.

The story was entertaining and the plot and characters were well-written.

Intriguing story with characters that captured my attention and interest. Elise seems to be struggling to get put from under her father's protective thumb, yet she lands herself in a situation where she's all to glad for his overbearing ways when he sends help. Oh, and what help he sends! Hayes, his best friend and former military team member, knows how to keep her safe, among other things. The connection and attraction were overwhelming and the storyline built the tension as their forced proximity kept the atmosphere thick. Will the spell break when the storm passes?

Homem Da Montanha Possessivo
Eu confesso que esperava mais desse livro. Não que ele tenha sido de todo ruim, mas não foi a melhor história de mountain man que eu já li. Não gostei muito da forma como eles não lutaram um pelo outro na reta final, foi bem decepcionante isso. Fiquei com a impressão de que o relacionamento deles era ditado pelo pai dela. Terminaram porque ele assim determinou e só ficaram juntos porque o homem resolveu juntar os dois de novo. Um pouco mais de atitude do casal e iniciativa própria pra ficarem juntos teria sido apreciado. Mas vida literária que segue.

Love how this series takes you to mountains all over the country. This story takes place in Alaska where even in the summer snow is a threat. Hearing about the Alaskan wilderness from her dad, Elise decides to take a trip there before she starts teaching. Getting stranded in a cave during a freak blizzard her father sends his best friend to rescue her. Hayes will do anything for his best friend, but when he rescues Elise the heat between them is hot enough to melt the snow and his heart.

When summer storm roll in to the Alaskan wilderness Elise's dad calls in Hayes to keep herself! This novella has a great storyline, with wonderful characters. Possessive Mountain Man is sultry seduction in a novella. Elise and Hayes have intense chemistry, each fighting the pull since her father is his best friend. Stranded in a blizzard with just one bed? Oh yes, the tension ratchets up with each turn of the page and the electricity zinging between these two is dynamite. I loved every moment of this short and hot romance.

Hot Mountain Nights story for Elise and Hayes. Hot dog that was a delicious treat of romance and older man younger woman love story with a twist. But this story makes me smile at how these two meet and the way Hayes tries so hard not to fall for Elise.

I was totally surprised by how much a secondary character ended up shaping the story! He shows up towards the end, but he really becomes the key to changing the relationship between our main characters. Absolutely loved that twist!.

An entertaining addition to the Hot Mountain Nights Anthology, it can be read as a standalone story. The storyline flowed well and was entertaining. The dads best friend storyline was cute and steamy. I liked both Elise and Hayes. They had plenty of chemistry between them to keep them warm on a stormy night.
