Christy Martinez may have been a nerd and the number one victim for the mean girls in her high school, but she’s since grown up, gone to college, and carved out a successful career for herself. Now in her late 20s, she’s put high school behind her, only to be blindsided by a blast from her past.
She and her friends have planned a much-needed vacation, but she finds out at the last minute that they’ll be joined by uber rich and gorgeous Kyle Quinto. He just happens to be the guy who played a cruel trick on her in high school, breaking her heart and making her a target for bullying in the process.
Can Christy forgive and forget? Because Kyle is a whole lot of hot.
Kate Sebastian has been crafting stories since she was tiny. She spent her childhood reimagining classic fairy tales and inventing new ones, then having her dolls and stuffed toys reenact them in elaborate sets she built by rearranging the furniture in her house.
She loves reading and writing romance and fantasy—especially when the two genres collide.
Short, steamy and sultry, Old Enemies Make The Best Lovers is the perfect thing to read on the beach -- you'll get a nice tan by the end of the novella, and hot and bothered enough to want to cool off with a nice swim.
Workaholic Christy's vacation plans change at the last minute when her best friend Tracy and Tracy's boyfriend Vic get an all-expenses-paid vacation in a high-end resort. The catch? It's run by Vic's friend, and Christy's old enemy, Kyle.
Christy and Kyle's beef is the kind of high school trauma that scars a person for life, and Christy's prickliness is earned. Kyle's side of the story is well-explained too, and the
hot reconciliation they reach doesn't come out of nowhere.
My only issue with this novella is that, with such a cheeky title, I wanted more sparks and passion to fly between the leads...more of that anger-fueled, 'I want to kill you but I want to bone you senseless too' attraction, I guess! (LOL). But that's just my take--we do get to see Kyle's caring side, and that's welcome too.
Tracy and Vic have a will-they-won't-they dynamic too, although it was a little obvious what Vic was planning before Christy figured it out.
Overall, stash this in your e-reader of choice for a quick and steamy beach read -- might make you want to take up diving as well!
Hot and Sexy. A short-good read and perfect when you're actually stuck in the middle of a carmagedeon traffic while on the way to the beach/province or anywhere really. I'm not an expert at writing at any level- yet. But, as a reader. Here's what I got to say...
It was a pleasant and refreshing read.
loved the visual-imagery of the story!
I just had to point out the snorkeling and scuba diving parts. It really does feel very inviting to suddenly pack up your things and enroll for the next scuba diving class or just roll with the summer heat for a snorkeling session.
I also enjoyed the banter between Christy and Kyle. I think this part was somewhat relatable to an experience I had in real life. It felt raw and honest that I just had to keep going and read it all the way the end.
I hope I'd be able to see more of Kyle and Christy's relationship development though, so I suppose writing something like a fanfiction privately would make me want to do it too.
Anyhow, thank you for the book and story Ms. Kate!
Cheers and hope to read more of your stories.

I thought Old Enemies Make the Best Lovers by Kate Sebastian was an enjoyable read. It was short and sweet, but at the same time, it was like reading two love stories: Christy's and Kyle, and her best friend Tracy's and Vic's.
My favorite part of the story is that high school flashback... Christy's and Kyle's angst-ridden prom date best buried and left in the past. Oh, high school life! <3 *grins* This story made me remember my rather dull high school but that's okay, I'd hate to be humiliated in any way, be it due to misunderstanding or otherwise.
With that said, I feel like Tracy, I always say I'd love to learn how to swim someday but I never get around to doing it. At least I was able to snorkel, but only because I had two licensed diver friends, two doctors, not to mention my hubby with me when I did. Otherwise, I'd never ever brave it out. Maybe I really should learn how to swim. I'd love to try diving next.<3
