A "NEW YORK TIMES" BESTSELLER
In celebration of Batman's 75th anniversary, DC Comics is proud to present a special box set collecting three of the most popular and critically acclaimed graphic novels starring The Dark Knight at a special low price. This box set collects trade paperback volumes of The Dark Knight Returns, Batman: Hush and Batman: The Court of Owls. Frank Miller's The Dark Knight Returns was hailed as a groundbreaking moment in comic storytelling. The Dark Knight Returns opens ten years after an aging Batman has retired and Gotham City has sunk deeper into decadence and lawlessness. Now as his city needs him most, the Dark Knight returns in a blaze of glory. Facing off against his two greatest enemies, the Joker and Two-Face for the final time, Batman finds himself in mortal combat with his former ally, Superman, in a battle that only one of them will survive. This collection is considered a comics masterpiece and was responsible for the launch of the Batman movies.
Batman: Hush is a thrilling mystery of action, intrigue, and deception penned by Jeph Loeb (Batman: The Long Halloween) and illustrated by comics superstar Jim Lee (Justice League, Superman: Unchained) in which Batman sets out to discover the identity of a mysterious mastermind using the Joker, Riddler, Ra's al Ghul and the Dark Knight's other enemies - and allies - as pawns in a plan to wreak havoc.
Following his ground-breaking, critically acclaimed run on Detective Comics, writer Scott Snyder (American Vampire, Swamp Thing, The Wake) alongside artist Greg Capullo (Spawn) begins a new era of The Dark Knight as with the relaunch of Batman, as a part of DC Comics--The New 52!
After a series of brutal murders rocks Gotham City, Batman begins to realize that perhaps these crimes go far deeper than appearances suggest. As the Caped Crusader begins to unravel this deadly mystery, he discovers a conspiracy going back to his youth and beyond to the origins of the city he's sworn to protect. Could the Court of Owls, once thought to be nothing more than an urban legend, be behind the crime and corruption? Or is Bruce Wayne losing his grip on sanity and falling prey to the pressures of his war on crime?

Batman: The Dark Knight Returns collects issues #1-4 of the original miniseries.
Batman: Hush collects issues #609-619, as well as the 6-page segment from Wizard #0 and a 2-page origin story that originally appeared at dccomics.com.
Batman Vol. 1: The Court of Owls collects issues #1-7 of Batman.

Pre-review:

(1) The Court of Owls

Bruce Wayne v.s. Talon fight scene and the artwork is so brilliantly fucking awesome! Did I die and go to heaven!?

But I have a question here...the Talons in the Court of Owls comic can use explosive, so I wonder why they never use guns...although sword fight looks really badass, by the way.

By the end of the story, everything gets so damn good! The comic provides us with nightmarish psychological horror! Mind fucks! Breathtaking fight scenes in a mother fucking underground maze! Harper Row! Lovely artwork and a rather adorable Damian as Robin (although he only shows up briefly)! I'm like...super happy!

(2) Hush

Another Gothic melodramatic Batman tales...and it works out quite nicely! It's still one of my favorite Batman's stories.

(3) The Dark Knight Returns

The artwork is impressive and the story is interesting, yeah!

I am ashamed to admit that I did not own a single good Batman comic, considering he is my most favorite superhero ever. Now finally I have a box set of his comics. Out of these three comics, I have already read one (many years back) and I am eager to read the other two.

Excellent collection of mostly modern Batman tales. Even though it's now 5 years old, you can still easily find this set on Amazon and other retailers, surprisingly still affordable usually.

The different art styles are a treat if that's what you look for in a comic. If you ship batman and catwoman like I do, rejoice! In one of the volumes they get together, ehe. Content-wise, the most of the plot wasn't stale and did not drag. Overall, worth the purchase.

Composed of "The Court of Owls", "The Dark Knight Returns", and "Hush".
Hush was easily the most gripping and interesting. The other 2 were well done but CoO (ha coo like a bird) was gimmicky at times, and I wasn't a fan of the art style in tDKR.

Convenient buy of 3 well written stories in one.
