Raleigh West works in an auto shop day and night, trying to put his broken past out of mind. Never got a chance to apologize. And never forgave himself, either.

When brave, beautiful Mia Wentworth returns to the Florida coast for the first time in what seems like forever, it’s not to see Raleigh. Even so, the moment she arrives she can feel his presence like a gust of wind that gives her goose bumps. Opening her heart to him again seems impossible. But staying away? That might be harder still. Lucky for them both, Mia’s never been the kind of woman to take the easy way out.

2 stars!

Seven years ago, Raleigh West and Mia Wentworth met during summer and had a story, that unfortunately didn't end well. Indeed, after a car accident, Mia ended up in hospital and Raleigh in jail.

Mia doesn't blame Raleigh for what happened that night. After spending all her life battling with cancer, Raleigh had been the only one who could make her feel alive.

Now, seven years later, Mia returns to Florida, but she soon realizes that her feelings for Raleigh are still there. Raleigh has never stopped loving Mia, but he feels guilty for what he put her through and he tries his best to stay away from her. But will they be able to stay away from each other and deny their feelings?

This book had potential. The plot was intriguing and I was really excited to read this one and to discover a new author.
Unfortunately, right from the start, I couldn't connect with the story.

There were a few twists in this story that I didn't like and that ruined my reading experience.

However, Raleigh and Mia together were really cute and lovely and I really liked reading about their moments together.

I would have preferred if the story focused more on the main characters instead of concentrating too much on adding twists to the plot.

I wish I could give you a more positive review. With that being said, I hope that you like it in case you decide to pick it up!

I typically read a book in about two days. The fact that it took me four days to finish this book is a reflection of the incredibly slow pacing. The basis for this second chance love story is heartwarming; however, the execution is flawed. Right from the beginning Mia forgives Raleigh for his part in the car accident that left her disfigured. Placing this so early in the story leaves nowhere for the plot to go. Raleigh finds it difficult to belief that he’s worthy of absolution, despite Mia’s continued reassurances to the contrary, and it grew rather tiresome.

There’s very little conflict and what there is feels drawn out. The author throws in a little drama at the 75% mark but it isn’t enough to salvage the story.

For my tastes, alternating point of view stories written in the third person are a hard sell unless extremely well executed. Unfortunately with the cliché writing style this book just didn’t resonate with me.

When Mia was 17, she went to visit her grandma in Florida. While she's there, she meets 19 year old Raleigh and falls in love. She is the first person to make him feel like he's worth something and he's the first person to make her feel alive. After a horrible accident, Raleigh and Mia are separated. Fast forward 7 years and Mia returns to Florida following the death of her grandma. No matter how much time has passed, some things stay the same and seeing Raleigh again awakens the old feelings they had for each other. I really enjoyed this story, it was a beautiful second chance love story that kind of reminded me of the Notebook but with more drama. I really liked these characters and can't wait to read the next book in this series.

This was a bit slow for my liking. The story-line was intriguing but it just never escalated above my "ok" marker. The author did a good job at building the characters. If you're looking for a book with a lot of "sexy" time then this isn't the book to read. This book had a little more depth to it and focused on the character's story. Both the hero & heroine were very likable. I do think many will thoroughly enjoy this book, and its powerful messages of healing and forgiveness.

3 Very Conflicted Stars.

This book was soooooo sloooooow. We're talking sloth levels here. The inevitability of Mia and Raleigh getting together meant that there was no conflict in the entire book. Yeah, her parents don't like him. Yeah, Cassidy is shady. None of that created any conflict in their relationship.

Boring.

The reason I am giving the stars though, is I can see how this is just not my cup of tea, and it could very well be someone elses. It also isn't written poorly, it's written well, but the story itself needed some kind of something to get it going. It just seemed like it never got started and just stalled for the entire length of the book.

Wow! I'm not sure what I expected from this book but I must say I was totally blown away! It was a great mix of a sweet second chance love story and suspense. This is one that was impossible for me to put down right from the beginning. Raleigh and Mia were great characters and the way the author deals with their past and getting them beyond it was great. Raleigh's relationship with Cody, his much younger brother, is so touching you just know his heart is huge. I definitely recommend this one to everyone!

A number of years ago I read a book by this author and when I saw this one and the very good price (which I don’t remember now, it might even have been free) I thought I’d try her again.
Mia and Raleigh were teenage sweethearts. While she didn’t live in town, her grandmother did and she spent quite a bit of time in the small town. She was the good girl that survived a serious childhood illness. She came from a rich family but was quiet and shy and didn’t have a lot of friends. Raleigh was the bad boy who came from the wrong side of town, worked in a garage and did a lot of road racing. Her parents hated him. They hated him even more when he and Mia were in a bad car crash while racing and she was badly burned. Her parents took her away and made sure there was no contact between the two young lovers. The book opens seven years later when Mia comes back to town after her grandmother’s death to settle the estate. Neither Mia nor Raleigh have ever forgotten the other but Raleigh is almost crippled by guilt over what happened to Mia and has never been able to forgive himself. When the run into each other while she is in town, the old feelings arise but Raleigh doesn’t feel worthy. The story is whether these two will be able to get back the love they once had.

I really like both of them. I found their conflict believable. Raleigh has never really had it easy. He spent a while in prison as a result of the crash and now that he’s out is working at the same garage. The owner who is almost like a second father to Raleigh is planning on retiring and wants to sell the garage to Raleigh tbt Raleigh doesn’t have the money. While Mia has recovered from the injuries, she’s very self-conscious of the burns. She’s falling in love with Raleigh but has plans for her future that don’t include him. And things aren’t helped that her parents still despise him and want her to have nothing to do with him.

Although the book read kind of like one of those tragic 1960’s songs, but I have some of those songs because they ‘got’ to me, And this book ‘gets’ to me too.

Falling Fast was a wonderful, heartwarming, and emotional second chance romance. Mia has endured more than any one person should ever have to during her young life. She had cancer as a child but was in remission when she was involved in a horrible car accident that left her burned and scarred, not only physically but mentally as well. Raleigh was the boy she fell in love with one summer while visiting her grandmother. He was driving the car that completely changed his and Mia’s life. Not only did the accident almost kill them, but it destroyed their young love and drove them apart for many years. Now, Mia is back for her beloved grandmother’s funeral. Both are anxious and scared to see one another again. Will there be feelings of anger, forgiveness, most importantly, will the passionate love still be there after all this time apart?

The book was fast paced. Readers didn’t have to wait for the inevitable reunion between the characters. They see each other not long after the story began. Yes, the feelings of passion and love are still there, but I enjoyed the friendship between Mia and Raleigh too. Each character was well-developed and not your typical characters in most romance novels. Each is carrying a secret they have hidden from one another that has greatly affected how each has lived their lives and the decisions they have made. Honestly, discovering some of Raleigh’s secrets were incredibly hard to read, but they made me love him even more. I loved seeing Mia grow from an insecure woman to a woman who not only beliefs in herself but one who helps Raleigh believe in himself and move on from his past. Speaking of characters, Wainscott did an awesome job of developing the character of Mia’s grandmother. Even though she was deceased, she was just as vividly alive in this story as all the other characters. I have only read one other writer who was able to do this successfully, and Wainscott was just as successful. There was some suspense and mystery that also made this book great as well. I won’t get into all of that because I don’t want to ruin anything. The only thing I will say is, “Read this book!”

Fallling Fast was my first novel I have read by Tina Wainscott, but it definitely won’t be my last. It was a great romance filled with passion and emotion, and it was also a book filled with love, forgiveness, and the importance of second chances. It also illustrates the important lesson of looking beneath the physical appearances of people and finding out what’s inside…that’s what really matters! Great job, Tina Wainscott. I can’t wait to read more from you in the future.

This story opens up seven years ago, when Mia first met Raleigh -- a car mechanic who fought hard to lose his 'southern'. While we don't get to see it, we learn that after the first meeting, the seventeen and nineteen year olds, respectively, fell into a whirlwind romance. One day, one that Raleigh feels was a mistake but Mia swears it was her doing... one day changes everything and their worlds are thrown apart.

Now Mia's grandmother has passed and she's coming back to town for the funeral; she's afraid to see Raleigh again, for fear of what he'll think when he sees her, but equally a part of her is excited because he was her teenage love.

Raleigh knows that Mia will be back in town and as much as he wants to, needs to, see her, he has an unhealthy dose of guilt riding his conscience. Add that to the fact that Mia's parents never thought very highly of him... He doesn't feel they'll accept him at twenty-six any more than they did at nineteen.

But like moths to a flame, two magnets drawn to one another, Raleigh and Mia will learn that what was considered teenaged, puppy love, may have been the real deal. Mia's family doesn't accept Raleigh, but her grandmother did -- and I do love my meddling grandparent stories, even if this one was slightly different in the fact that she had now passed away and was still pushing these two together.

I loved both Mia and Raleigh. I loved that Raleigh had his insecurities, but he was still a man's-man. Most of his insecurities circled around Mia, as well as what others thought about him. As he thinks to the readers, his best friend's southern accent doesn't get two looks simply because the man comes from money; but the same southern accent on Raleigh showcases him to be a southern fool, so he works hard to keep it covered.

I loved that Mia had her obvious, very legitimate, insecurities... but they didn't stop her from wanting to see Raleigh again. She didn't necessarily want to hide from him. She didn't want him to feel guilty or to look at her and see his mistakes, either, but she doesn't blame him for anything.

While the lust and want returned as quickly as seeing the other, I liked that these two took the time to get to know the adult version of their teenage love -- makes things more believable because we all know people change over the years. Young love can change to be nothing, or it can change to be great, and what these two had, and have, is certainly great.

A beautiful story of redemption and second chances.

I enjoyed this story because it involved important themes, strong emotions and a bit of angst and tension too, toward the end. I liked how they slowly went from trying to pretend it had only been a summer romance to opening up their hearts, challenging their differences and facing obstacles along the way. It wasn’t an easy path to their happy ending, and I liked how, through all the tough times, neither wanted to give up and take the easy way out.

I liked Raleigh’s selflessness and his determination to be a better man, even though he came from the wrong side of the tracks.

I liked Mia’s hunger for life, how she wanted to live without regrets and her devotion for Raleigh. She could’ve gone back to Minnesota and forgotten about him, but she stood by him even when her parents gave her grief for loving him.

Raleigh’s little half-brother, Cody, was adorable. He was super cute and I really liked his interactions both with Raleigh and with Mia. I didn’t like Rose, his mother, very much, but she only has few and short appearances, so it’s no big deal.

There were a couple of things that didn’t work too well for me. Call me a prude, but I could’ve done without the descriptive sex scenes, as a couple of them took me a little away from the story, especially the one toward the end of the book, when the tension was at one of the highest peaks.

I also felt the ending was a little rushed and it left me hanging. Don’t get me wrong: there’s no cliffhanger and you get the whole story, but when I reached the last page I wasn’t sure if the author left that small unresolved issue (can’t say what) because it’ll be continued in another book. I just wanted to know what was going to happen to Rose.

All in all, I enjoyed this story and up until the end I was curious to know how things were going to work out for these star crossed lovers.

If you like second chance and stories of redemption, this book is a good choice.

3 stars...
Mia Wentworth has battled cancer most of her childhood. She's lived under the constant eye of her wealthy parents who attempt to shelter her every move, and the constant doctor appointments. Now in remission, and seventeen, she visits her grandmother for the summer on the coast. Mia desperately wants to be a typical teenage girl rather than be seen "as the girl with cancer". She walks into an auto garage to pick up her parent's car, and meets Raleigh West.
Raleigh West grew up :on the wrong side of the tracks". His mother died when he was a child, and Raleigh walked out on his alcoholic father at the age of fifteen. He's been as a mechanic for years, and has built quite the reputation for working on high-performance vehicles. In walks Mia, and as much as he shouldn't get involved, he can't walk away.
Mia adores that Raleigh doesn't know her as "the girl with cancer", rather just as Mia. He makes her feel alive and happy. There's a horrendous car accident with Raleigh and Mia, and they're separated because of it. Seven years later, Mia's grandmother passes, and she heads back to the small coast town for the funeral. She meets up with Raleigh with a little help from her grandmother's Will, and they pick up where things were left off.
The story revolves around Raleigh's guilt for the accident, Mia's forgiveness, and her parent's hatred of all things Raleigh.
There were some very touching parts, but in general it was a slow-moving story. Nothing really jumped out at me, and I didn't find myself completely gobbling it up. The story is great, characters are good. Mia's parents were a bit much considering she's now an adult (still treating/acting like she's a child), and Mia was sugary sweet.

Mia and Raleigh have a past. A tragic past. The two have been though some horrifying events that tore them apart for 7 years. After Mia’s Grandmother passes away, fate crosses their paths again. They are forced to either relive those memories, or ignore them and what their hearts are telling them to do.

This story ended up taking a completely different turn than I had expected. The book starts off as a forbidden love story and it ends up taking a suspenseful turn. The author transitioned the two themes very well by blending Mia and Raleigh’s love story together with a ghost from Raleigh’s past.

I really liked both of the main characters in this book. Mia has been through so much in her life, but it made her stronger. She faced obstacles in her young life most people don’t experience in a lifetime. At the same time, the author still makes Mia very relatable to her audience. My heart went out to Raleigh though out the whole book. Every time he turns around something else is going wrong for him. It’s like he is living under a dark cloud he can’t get away from.

The author writes about several important and controversial issues. At times, these situations are hard to read about, but these things do happen in real life. It takes courage to address these issues in a novel. The author does this respectfully and at the same time with realism and honesty. There is another book in this series. I am interested to see where the next book takes the story. I give Falling Fast a four star rating.

**I received an advance copy of this book from Netgalley in exchange for my honest review.

I really enjoyed this book. The characters were well developed and deep, with pasts that gave them lots of rich detail.

Mia and Raleigh had a summer romance seven years ago that ended in a fiery crash - literally. Now she's back in town after her grandmother's death, and thanks to that grandmother, they are forced to be together. of course, that isn't much of a hardship, seeing as they've both spent the last seven years thinking about each other and trying to deal with the regrets they have over how things ended.

The story was rather believable, sweet and sexy. What I really enjoyed was that the characters were not your typical, perfect hard body romance characters. They had some real physical flaws, and that added a different depth to the story that I didn't expect.

Another pleasant surprise for me were the secondary characters. They were very well developed as well, and had histories of their own that make me hope they'll be the focus of future novels in the Falling Fast series.

There were enough hints of the secondary character's stories that have me looking forward to the future books, but it would also work just fine as a standalone. If I never got the chance to read the rest of the series, I wouldn't feel as though I was cheated out of anything.

This was my introduction to Tina Wainscott, and it was the perfect book for this. I loved her writing style, I loved the storyline and the characters, and I definitely want to read more.

Deep. This book was really good. A sweet, beautiful and emotional second chance romance story that will gives you tons of smiles and feels. This book was really good. Intense, edgy, and beautifully written, this author captivates you from the beginning. The words and emotions in this book just flowed off of the page, drawing you in and devouring you.

The first in a new series, this is a Raleigh and Mia's story. Torn apart by tragedy, Raleigh and Mia were scarred and permanently marked never being the same again. Now, years later, they are thrown back together in each other's lives. Two hearts that beat as one. They will find that the heart wants what the heart wants and sometimes things are just meant to be. They will face demons along the way. They will face obstacles. It is not going to be easy but together they can heal and find strength. Get ready for an epic love story that will be with you long after it's over.

I loved these two together. From the prologue, I was drawn in by Raleigh and Mia. I was rooting for them, even when it was tense and unpredictable. Their love was wholesome with tons of emotions. I love a book where characters can evoke feelings out of me and tears along the way. I connected with Raleigh and Mia on a deeper level. We all deserve second chances, especially these two.

I highly recommend this book.

There is a lot to commend this book - the characters are interesting, the writing is good, and the outcome is as one would desire. That said, for me it threw in too many things - there are so many subplots that it is difficult to determine what is important and what is peripheral. It may well be that some of these are important in future stories, so it was world building, but it slowed the story's pace, and bogged down the important parts of the romance. I guess I kept waiting to see what relevance there was of 'x' when 'y' happened, and instead 'z' was introduced.

I will look out for the next book, as I am keen to see the series develop - and Raleigh is always welcome to grace my page!

This was a second chance at love romance. The characters deals with forgiveness and redemption. The story progressed very slowly. It took forever for Mia and Raleigh to "get together". So not much went on. The story picked up around 60/70 % into the book. The couple meet as teens but a tragic accident separates them. There is also interference from her parents. They reunite after 7 years. The tragedy is told in flashbacks and or conversations. The majority of the book takes place in the present. Raleigh feels guilty about what happens and does not feel her deserves forgiveness. The first part of the book deals with him and Mia working out there feelings. Just an ok read for me. A little too slow moving. The next book is about the friend Pax. It seems interesting.

Falling Fast was a very heartwarming and enjoyable read.

I was drawn into the book from the beginning and I couldn't put it down.
Loved seeing Raleigh and Mia together, you could feel how much they loved each other and how hurt they both were over the years they lost by their forced separation.

Overall this was a touching and heartfelt read, highly recommend Falling Fast.

I'm not sure where I've been but I've been missing out on an author to read. Falling Fast has hooked me onto Tina Wainscott and I can't wait to read whatever she is writing and releasing next.

Falling Fast is a winner. I love a good second chance love story. Toss in a couple of surprise twists, and I'm done in. The pace is fast, the story pulled me in quickly and I couldn't wait to see how Mia and Raleigh were going to act at that moment they meet again.

Wainscott delivers complex characters, a dynamic plot filled will emotions. I can't wait to see for the next read by Tina Wainscott.

The rating of 3.5 is exactly what I would give this book. Well written but lacked the intensity of a second chance at love novel because the author gave it up so early in the plot. They both were still in love after 7 years apart therefore there was no plot there. The murder plot was easily guessed and didn't make sense. The wrap up was rushed and abrupt. Not my favorite read this summer but will look forward to this author's next work.

This story has a lot of elements involved, such as past history to judgments to mystery. But, the part that got to me most was about young love, and all the things that work to tear it apart. It also tells about how young people are often labeled by others, and the internal damage that can do to someone so young. It takes a whole lot of Love, introspection, and Forgiveness to realize, to yourself, that you are Not who you were made out to be.

Good, but not for me

All in all, this was a cute book, but cute isn’t really my preferred style of romance novel. I like my women a little snarky, my men alpha, and lots of steam.

Still a good read.

My star rating for FALLING FAST is: 4 out of 5 stars! :)

My ‘Blogging Reader’s Review’ after reading
an ARC Copy of ‘FALLING FAST' (The Falling Fast Series book #1)
(via:BooksMoviesFandoms.wordpress.com):

I was given the opportunity to read and review the first novel of the Falling Fast Series titled “Falling Fast” by author Tina Wainscott. I previously read another novel by this author and was looking forward to seeing if this one would be enjoyable as well. I will say -it delivered and was a gripping story about survival, growing as a person and finding happiness regardless of any obstacles. Falling Fast is of the New Adult and contemporary romance genres. This novel is written from the two main character’s P.O.V.’s(point of views), Mia Wentworth and Raleigh West.

From the outside, Mia Wentworth could be seen as a loner and a precious rich girl but that would be an outsiders perspective about her. She’s also lived her young life feeling often over-protected by her parents because of something she has no control over. This something has threatened to make her want to give up sometimes because she can’t completely live like most people her age. At seventeen years old, she’s been living with cancer for practically half of her life. When her parents decide to visit her grandmother in the small town of Chambliss, Mia has no expectations of the vacation except to have a nice visit with her fun and feisty grandma Nancy. When Mia is given a tiny piece of freedom to drive into town alone, she happens to meet a very attractive local named Raleigh at the garage working under a car. That summer would become a memorable and unforgettable time, in both good and bad ways, for both Mia and Raleigh.

Raleigh West has had a tough and difficult life but regardless, he’s pushed through the troubles and has focused on his favorite hobby -working on cars. With a father who is known as the town’s drunk and loser, Raleigh has found it hard to keep from having his dad’s reputation become the way they perceive Raleigh sometimes. When he meets the new and intriguing girl Mia at the garage he works at, he can’t help but instantly want to get to know her better. It’s just something about her that isn’t like other girls and that causes a mutual attraction between the two -to become something irresistible and in a way, dangerous. They spend time that summer learning about each other, feeding Mia’s hunger to experience new things and live like she’s never lived before. It was dynamic, romantic, and mind-blowing but after one terrible accident, their lives are twisted up and changed. Soon after that, they are torn apart, never to speak again.

For seven years they both lived their lives separate. Surviving the accident that threw their lives into a darn-ward spin and picking up the pieces of themselves after. As far as Mia is concerned, she never heard from Raleigh again: no phone call, no letter, nothing. Now after seven years away, Mia must return to Chambliss once again with her parents to bury her grandmother Nancy and handle her personal business. No matter how hard she tries to keep her cool and stay calm, Mia can’t seem to get the boy she knew and loved long ago in this same small town she was going to return to after all of these years? Would Raleigh remember her or was it just a summer fling to him? Has he moved on with someone new and has a family now? Will Mia’s insecurities keep her from ever allowing anyone to get close to her like Raleigh did so long ago?

Raleigh has been carrying so much guilt for the accident and the results that left Mia in the hospital. Will Mia forgive him? Will Raleigh ever forgive himself? This story is a bit different because we don’t get to read how the two main characters’ relationship grows during that special summer they spend together. We don’t get to see their relationship flourish right off but we get to read when they met and moments that were special to them from that time. This was a beautiful and emotional kind of story about a young girl who has so much strength, drive and a need to live life beyond the limits placed in front of her. And it’s also about a boy who comes from a tragic background but somehow fights hard enough to overcome it and become a man with a caring heart and a loving soul. I recommend this gripping story for readers who love a great story with romance and some suspense as well. This seems to be the start of an amazing new series! Heads up: The topics of dealing with cancer, child abuse and murder are a part of this intense story. I still do recommend it because it’s well written. Make this your next exceptional story to dive into. :)

Falling hard

Once again Tina Wainscott has delivered.
I was totally hooked right till the end.
I had to see if love really could overcome anything.
A must read.

I love second chance romances and I love stories about cars and racing, so the moment I saw this book reviewed on another blog I knew I had to have it! It's been quite a while since I spontaneously bought a book and immediately read it, and although I couldn't class this book as 5*, it was still definitely worth the read.

Raleigh was the perfect man for this story, and actually a perfect book boyfriend (and that's not something I say very often!). He was part bad boy but also a family man, devoted friend and all round nice guy. His guilt over the car accident that scarred Mia is ever present and very much defines the way he lives his life all these years later. But he also allows himself to dream, and it is heart breaking for us to watch him struggle to make these dreams come true after all the hard times he has already been through in his life.

"I don’t want you to hurt because of me, Mia. Never again."

I really like Mia too. As the girl who lived her teenage years riddled with cancer only to recover and end up in a car accident that leaves her badly burnt and scarred you would be ok with her being at least a little bit sad about how her life's ended up. But instead she has picked herself up and moved on with her life and I really liked that about her. Ok, sure she still covers her face in a ton of make up and makes sure all her scars are covered, but she doesn't let them stop her from living her life and that's why I loved her.

"I know why it’s like this for me…why being with you is like flying. Because you make me feel alive. I’d never felt truly alive until I met you seven years ago. I haven’t felt this way since I left. And I know when I leave again it’ll go away."

As I said above, I really like second chance romances and Mia and Raleigh have to be one of my favourites. It's been seven years since they were together and since then there has been hospital times and jail times. Both have gone their own separate ways and moved on with their lives, but then they see each other and everything comes flooding back. The attraction and the pull they feel to be close to each other is just as strong as their initial relationship but I like how they don't just jump straight back into bed together immediately. Instead we get this beautiful friendship that develops, and then when they can't deny it anymore we get the relationship we have been waiting for the entire book!

One tiny thing that I have to point out is that there is a lot of conversations about their previous relationship but I would have really liked some flashbacks. Intertwining the past and present development of their relationship would have made this book perfect.

"There are a lot of things in life that aren't fair, Raleigh. But loving each other is one of the things that's right and good. We aren't losing that."

The story has great possibilities, but sadly not all of them were fulfilled. The pacing of the book felt quite slow, which could have been because of the lack of conflict. The romance was great, but it all felt a little bit too easy. Mia was very quick to forgive Raleigh for his part in the crash that changed her life, and they seemed to be fine just moving back into their previous relationship. There was one surprise thrown in there around the 75% mark with threw a spanner in the works, but it just felt a little bit too late, and so didn't make much of a different to the pacing of the book as a whole.

I received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Yay second chance romance!!!!! Who doesn't love a good "we are older and wiser and huge idiots for letting the past rip us apart" story. Of course it's not always as simple as that and this book is a doozy.

Raleigh and Mia spent a wonderful summer together. As a child Mia was diagnosed with cancer and fought it for 7 years. The summer she met Raleigh she in remission. She intentionally didn't tell him about it because she didn't want Raleigh to treat her any differently. Unfortunately for the both of them, that summer ended when a car accident put them in the hospital. They were both badly injured and then Raleigh ended up going to jail as well. The accident happened during a drag race and despite the fact that it wasn't his fault, he was the one who got punished.

It is now seven years later and Mia returns to bury her grandmother. Raleigh is out of jail and working on buying the garage he now works at. Their reunion is less than stellar, but mostly because Mia's parents blame Raleigh for the accident and try to keep Mia away from him. Sure Mia is a healthy adult and can make her own choices, but her parents don't see it that way.

At the reading of her grandmother's will everyone gets quite a shock. She left her house to Mia AND Raleigh. They are to fix it up, sell it and then split the money. Sounds easy enough right? And she even comes right out and says that this isn't a ploy to get them back together and I couldn't help but laugh.

As Mia and Raleigh start to fix the house, they start spending time together. They find out that Mia's parents had been preventing the two of them from reconnecting. They both had been living on the notion that they just didn't want to see one another and they couldn't have been more wrong. They start to grow close and they just cannot deny the fact that they both still have feelings for each other.

I loved Mia and Raleigh's relationship. Even when they were young they just clicked and seemed to understand one another. But I find their current relationship so much more interesting. They have so many obstacles to get over throughout the course of this book, the biggest being themselves. Raleigh doesn't feel worthy of a second chance with Mia. As much as she tells him the accident wasn't his fault, Raleigh still blames himself. He knows that Mia struggled in her recovery and she had to do it without him by her side. They met when they were young, but the love they felt for each other was as real as it gets. And now that they are older and wiser, they can make things work.

There was a whole secondary story line involving Raleigh's father. I'm not really sure that it was needed, but late in the book it did help prove a point that Mia was committed to Raleigh and was willing to stand by him no matter what. I loved that Mia stood by him when things got super complicated. Nothing says "I love you" like "I don't care if you might go back to jail, I'm not going anywhere." Intrigued yet?

I look forward to the future books in this series. For the most part, this book was a light read. There was some drama, but enough to take away from the story. I believe the next book is about Raleigh's friend Pax who I really liked in this book. He has an interesting story and can't wait to learn more about him as well as maybe checking in with Mia and Raleigh to see how they are doing.

This is a great second chance story it was a very touching read with some major issues. Mia goes through so much at a very young age. My heart really went out to her. She has over protective parents that have a hard time letting her grow up. That is understandable with all that she has gone through.

All Mia wants is to be treated normal to forget what her life has been like up to now. Raleigh gave her that but as we all know things can turn on a dime. Raleigh has faced years of guilty for his part. They had no closure with her parent budding in and keeping them apart. When Mia aunt dies she comes back town her parents do everything they can to keep them apart. Mia said she just needs closure. The last words of a will might just do that. Two people, who just want to get over the pain of their first love, just to be normal people. Who are they kidding not me they are still very attracted to each other.

Mia is a wonderful sweet lady who handle some things badly. She always puts others first when she could have pulled into herself she lives life to the fullest. She has always wanted the chance to tell Raleigh that it wasn’t his fault. It has been years, it is hard after all this time to face the one man she has always loved. She has spent most of her life in some kind of treatment , she has scares she hides well but the deepest ones I think are in her heart.

Raleigh I loved with his bad boy past which isn’t true he is just a wonderful loving man who I adored. He has had a hard life born on the wrong side wanting the beautiful lady he has always loved. He found out more about her after the fact which has made him love her more. With her parents in the way he has never been able to tell her he is sorry. He has spent so many hours with her aunt, now that she has past he feels lost. With Mia return to town he is having a hard time staying away from her. Mia aunt has put a twist on things now they must come face to face and deal with the past.

The author gives a well told story that will touch you heart of young love, and a second chance at getting it right. She throws in some murder which could put Raleigh back in jail. Their second chance might be over before it even begins. For me I loved this story I did feel the pace was a little slow, I did find it to be a wonderful read with lots of humor. You are so going to love the will Mia aunt wrote, oh and when the parents walk in on a very touching scene. I totally loved it. I did not like Mia mother which the author wanted, her father was touch and go but he came to be a likeable character.

I did love the supporting characters however I would have like to know more about a few but feel sure they will turn up in this series as the author takes us on an enjoyable ride with her next books. Mia aunt is my kind of women I hate that I never got to know her. She is a character that would make an outstanding read with her fast wit, outspoken ways.

Tina as always writes a book that reaches deep in you this one has some day to day issues that she writes in style. Tina has been one of my favorite authors from the very first book I picked up of hers. Her writing style always keeps me guessing as she gives me some thrills and suspense.
