the premise of this book was so so sweet, and i adored our main character Andy, but i just don’t think this book was for me.
it read beautifully and i found the story and setting to be very entertaining (as well as me having a soft spot for books about celebrities for some reason), and the side characters were fab, but the romance in and of itself didn’t work for me sadly. it felt as thought it moved a lot too quickly, and i personally found it lacking in chemistry (maybe from how quickly we went from enemies to lovers). i wasn’t rooting for them to end up together, which is usually my sign that a romance just isn’t clicking. i don’t think this book was bad whatsoever, it had a lot of things that i loved, but i think the tropes surrounding the romance in this book specifically, just weren’t to my taste.

Sometimes the rule of not going for a book based solely on its cover is true.(Will I make this mistake again? Absolutely.)
This was… not good. The idea was really good, but I don’t like the execution.
Almost everything boils down to the fact that I personally don’t think you can get better and heal if you are constantly around someone that reminds you of the worst part of your life. Especially not that soon and that fast after reconnecting.
The first 30% of the book was really fun, I have to admit that, and the characters' chemistry is fire, no doubts about that. Around 50% is when I started to get bored. 60% is when I realised they definitely shouldn’t be together and this would work perfectly as litfic and not romance. There’s a certain part where one of the characters says they are regressing to toxic behaviors and they are better off without being in a relationship and I have to agree.
I loved the part where we actually got to see a passage of the book, I wish we got more of that. It could really use flashbacks or something that gave us a better understanding of their situation, it’s a lot of telling and not enough showing.
I hate not enjoying arcs but I’ll always be truthful, and this one was definitely not for me.

The miserable wanting when you shouldn’t want. The yearning for what once was. The gut wrenching guilt of knowing it ended for a reason, and yet, you still want, still need, still crave them. The chest constricting weight of it all…
Anderson in Bloom is that and so much more. It is angsty in that special way that only a second chance romance can really be.
I think I could read a hundred more pages of Anderson’s yearning. Actually… can I get a bonus scene of yearning from Nikki’s pov?
This is single pov and it is the absolute right choice. The not knowing, but like, come on, we know whether Nikki yearns the way Anderson does is *chef’s kiss* and don’t even get me started on that ending. MY GAWD it was perfect.
Sigh. Please go read this book if you like angsty wanting, don’t mind when the pov FMC is down bad, cause poor Andy is so f-ing down bad.
Oh, and another thing I loved?! The reason for their original break-up is super valid, will have you thinking, “no! you broke up for a reason” and yet… You’ll be rooting for them in the end.

YES YES YES to the audiobook! 10/10 no notes. I felt like I was listening to my bestie tell me her most angsty inner thoughts and I loved it. Adding Rebecca Mozo to my “ABSOLUTELY” narrator list! Pacing was just a bit slow, but consistent so easy to speed up!

This book was really not for me.
The little dances these two played around each other left me with nothing but annoyance.
To preface, the cover of this book is the cutest. It was chosen off of cover vibes alone and nothing else.
Now onto the problems.
First of all, these two were toxic from the start. I found no redeeming qualities in their relationship, and I found that the sheer lack of growth was plain annoying. These two would never fit together. They couldn’t talk or function with any basic emotional awareness, instead they just bought each other coffee and PINED.
Only one thing can pull that plot off, and that would be Gilmore Girls.
Secondly, I somehow hated both of these characters and knew nothing about them.
Nikki, for starters, was just plain annoying with an appalling lack of boundaries.
Andy, was so frustratingly emotionally idiotic and self centered that my eyes spent most of this book rolling instead of reading.
Our side characters Regan and Johnny (?) carried, however, providing a nice refreshing reality check and a lot of cute moments.
Tysm netgalley for letting me give this one a shot!! Two stars.

Anderson in Bloom is a messy and raw sapphic romance following Andy, a famous teen actress turned small-town florist, and Nikki, her ex, who happens to show up in her town, looking to write a tell-all memoir about her career and their relationship. This was such a beautifully combative romance! I loved that Nikki and Andy had so much history, and their connection bled over into all the easy chemistry and banter between them. While the drama of their second chance was so driven, I also appreciated how all the emotions held their own and brought on so much pining and yearning. The two could not stop thinking about each other and it was so sweet how they reconnected despite all the things pulling them in different directions. This sapphic romance is well worth the read, wrapping all that angst and longing into a story that balances beautiful vulnerability with tender infatuation.

“That’s a first,” I say. “Since when have you ever wanted to be anywhere you actually were?”
“Since I found you again,” she answers honestly.
4 stars, or like 4.25 stars? I'm SO glad I stuck with this author. The first book I read from her was fine, a bit disappointing in some ways. The second was good, significantly better, though I still had nitpicks. And this was my favourite so far; so romantic and thoughtful and intense. The trope-set is far from my favourite (second chance romance combined with enemies to lovers just doesn't sound like my thing) so I originally wasn't gonna read this. I'm so happy I ended up trying it out, because I loved Andy and Nikki's story.
Andy and Nikki were co-stars on a kids' TV show years ago; they were also each other's first love. Then Nikki got caught up in the fame, in drugs and alcohol, and did several things that completely destroyed Andy's trust, and Andy left. Now, years later, Andy is living incognito in a small town, and Nikki has gone on to become even more famous and successful. Then, when Nikki announces a book, a tell all about her early life, the TV show, and relationship with Andy, Andy impulsively re-establishes contact.
I was wary of this for a few reasons. Like I said, second chance romance isn't my favourite trope, especially when the characters are this antagonistic towards each other at first. I'm also not the biggest fan of celebrity romances. Also, in plots like this, where one person has wronged another, authors tend to slip in a plot twist that was like "It was a misunderstanding! Character A never wronged Character B at all!" And that tends to leave me with a bad taste in my mouth. Nikki DID do a lot to break Andy's trust, did not treat her right in the relationship. And I was really relieved that while Andy does have to look at things from Nikki's POV, and Andy does have to realise that not everything happened the way she remembered, the story never minimises her hurt, and what Nikki did.
I started off this book thinking that it would be really hard to root for this couple, and it first it was. Their history was really painful. But Nikki was persistent in a really appealing way, and she gave SUCH good grovel. Even when Andy was still resistant to reconnecting with her, you still felt their chemistry and past love. And there came a crucial point where I was like "Okay, Nikki, STAND UP," and she did! Andy had show some much-needed reciprocity. Even in a second chance romance that has a lot of grovelling, I don't want to see one character on their knees ALL the time, you know?
The ending chapters were some of my favourite; I was legit kicking my feet at times. This was a single POV, third person romance, and it gave me one of those moments I LOVE to see in romance. Even though we never get Nikki's POV, you felt every inch of her adoration and devotion. It was so lovely and romantic.
Listened to the audiobook as read by Rebecca Mozo, and it was really good! A new-ish voice to me, and pretty fitting for the characters. Really glad I gave this a try, and I look forward to the author's other adult releases!

I definitely need more flower shop romances in my life! Andy was on a really popular TV show and fell in love while she was on it, but that relationship ended badly, so she ran away to a small town and is now working in a flower shop. When she hears that her ex is writing a book about her life, she calls her to tell her to stop. Little does she know, her ex has come to that same small town to get away, and they finally see each other and have to confront what happened. It was a lot of miscommunication when they were younger, and I will say I do not know if I believe this couple will last beyond this book because they had A LOT they still had to work through, but I appreciated them addressing their own wrongs and trying to be together again. They're a bit messy, but I just found that realistic and I really enjoyed their story!

What she doesn’t expect is a response…or for Nikki to randomly show up at the floral shop she is working at the next day, asking for her help.
Once to two reconnect, they must decide if they can fix everything- or if some things are better left broken.
I loved this. I just loved it.
I love Andy, I love Nikki, I love Andy and Nikki together.
This had all the intensity and tension that I would expect from a story like this one.
I was actually thrilled by their reconnection, and I was on the edge of my seat every time they had an almost-romantic encounter.
Their fights? Devastating. Consider me heartbroken.
I was begging two fictional characters to please just love each other again.
I love their stories and reading about their struggles with their previous relationship and individual Hollywood experiences.
This is one of those books where I really felt bad for both of them equally.
They both were hurting, being hurt by other people, and hurting each other all at the same time.
I was so glad they were able to get some healing.
Overall, this is for me. This is my thing. I am SO happy to have gotten to read and review this early. I will be patiently waiting to get a copy of this in March. Always looking forward to reading more Jennifer Dugan in the future!

Let me be upfront with you: I went into Anderson in Bloom with cautious expectations and came out the other side delightfully surprised. Jennifer Dugan wrote something here that is funnier, sexier, and more emotionally resonant than I was prepared for — and I am so glad I gave it the chance it deserved.
Former child star Andy Ducharme has been hiding in a flower shop in coastal New England for six years, and honestly? Mood. But then her annoyingly gorgeous ex Nikki Price shows up with plans for a tell-all memoir and suddenly Andy's carefully reconstructed quiet life has very loud feelings all over it. The premise is delicious and Dugan executes it with real wit and charm.
Let's talk about Nikki first because she absolutely deserves it. Patient, loving, funny, and genuinely one of the most well-drawn love interests I've encountered in a trad pub sapphic rom-com in a while. Watching her show up — literally and emotionally — for someone who is doing her absolute level best to win her ex love back was both swoony and quietly moving. I adored her completely.
Andy, bless her heart, is a whole other story. Her inner monologue is a masterclass in self-destruction and there were multiple moments where I genuinely wanted to reach through the pages, put my hands on her shoulders, and say — honey. Stop talking. Stop talking right now and just LISTEN. But that's the point, isn't it? That's the character arc. And watching her slowly, painfully, and FINALLY get out of her own way is ultimately so satisfying.
Now — the steam. BABES. Jennifer Dugan showed up here more than in her previous novels (imo). The simmering physical tension between Andy and Nikki is chef's kiss from the moment Nikki walks through that flower shop door and it absolutely delivers when it finally boils over. I was not prepared and I was not complaining.
Rebecca Mozo's narration is a genuine delight. She brings Andy's chaotic, self-defeating inner world to life with such perfect comedic timing and warmth that I think this is genuinely one of those books that is better in audio. Mozo kept me hooked even through the moments where I wanted to throttle the main character, which is no small feat. An absolutely fantastic performance.
Now. The Third Act Breakup. You know I have to address it. The TAB is my least favorite trope in sapphic romance — I am on record, I will die on this hill — and this one is very much present. I originally landed at three stars because of it. But after sleeping on it, I came back to four, because here's the truth: Dugan earns it more than most. It isn't miscommunication for the sake of drama. It isn't a cheap contrivance. It fits the character work that has been laid down across the whole book and if Andy is going to grow, she has to crash first. I still wish the genre would evolve beyond it — but within the tradition, this one is handled with more care than average and the payoff is genuinely lovely.
A warm, funny, sexy second chance romance with a narrator who absolutely elevates the experience. If you're a TAB sceptic like me, go in forewarned — but don't let it stop you. This one is worth it.

I still wish the genre would evolve beyond it — but within the tradition, this one is handled with more care than average and the payoff is genuinely lovely.
A warm, funny, sexy second chance romance with a narrator who absolutely elevates the experience. If you're a TAB sceptic like me, go in forewarned — but don't let it stop you. This one is worth it.

The description had me very intrigued, and the first third and last third had me engrossed in their story. In the middle I was getting a bit tired of their lack of communication and started skimming some because I still very much wanted to know how things would end up. With the story being singular pov I was really glad we were able to understand Nikki’s side of things. To be honest, Nikki was the stand out character for me. The growth she had was incredible and had me rooting for her. Overall, I’d give this one 3.5 stars.

I devoured this book. I read it and annotated it fully in less than 24 hours. I simply could not put it down. Andy and Nikki's story is one that I believe will truly stick with me. Yes, this is a second-chance romance, but it is also a story of healing and finding oneself. I really resonated with Andy, our main character. She is an avoider, it's hard for her to take criticism and see two sides of the story, and girl... me core. Andy's friendship with Regan and Johnny was so so special and hilarious. Andy's support system!!! I loved it. Relating to Andy made her and Nikki's journey touch me even more. It is so beautiful to read about two flawed people who messed up, heal, and find their way back to each other. This story is absolutely beautiful, and I am so proud to display it on my shelves.
The audio of this book is incredible as well. I simply cannot recommend any form of this book enough! I did find the narrator for the audiobook a little monotone at first when she wasn't engaged in dialogue, but overall, you get used to it, and the story will simply take you away!

Anderson in Bloom by Jennifer Dugan is a contemporary second-chance romance between a former child star and her ex, a celebrity from a particularly toxic period in their lives. The novel is angsty, spicy, and ultimately satisfying. It is now on my list of favorites.
As other reviewers have mentioned, second-chance narratives can be challenging because the reason for the initial breakup has to be addressed and resolved for the relationship to succeed believably. Andy and Nikki have been through the Hollywood ringer, and they have harmed one another. The amount of time that passes between their breakup and the present makes sense to me. The steps to resolve the issues work for me as well. They embark on a painful journey to let go of the past and learn about each other in the present if they are to embrace any kind of future together.

Anderson in Bloom is a second-chance lesbian romance between two young women who fell in love as girls... only to be torn apart by the dark side of Hollywood.
It's not an easy story to tell, as getting a second chance at love is never simple. However, the author managed to keep me fully hooked, waiting for the crucial details of their breakup to slowly surface. Well played.

You know the thing about second chance romances is that the book has to convince you that the characters should get back together and unfortunately this one did not. I like the first 20-30% of it, I think the author did a good job at capturing the love yet betrayal and anger you feel when you're hurt by someone you love, and I liked the whole getting closure part but once we got past that it seemed to just go downhill.
I did not find the lack of boundaries sexy or romantic, neither did I think Nikki was justified in how she went about everything. I was just mad throughout and it truly could not be saved after that I fear.

Anderson, “Andy,” isn’t quite hiding, she’s just trying to escape the former celebrity lifestyle by escaping to a coastal New England town and taking up a job at a flower shop. She is running from the chaos of LA, including from her ex and former TV co-star, Nikki. As luck would have it, Nikki announces a tell-all memoir about her side of the story, and shows up in Andy’s flower shop for more answers. But as Andy lends support for the memoir manuscript, secrets come out, and Nikki isn’t letting Andy go. Can their relationship survive another bloom?
This was a cozy sapphic romance novel set in an idyllic coastal New England small town, and even better that it contained floral elements. as an absolute lover of second chance romances i am extremely bummed to say this was NOT for me at all. in all honesty i spent the majority of the book wanting to dnf it but decided to just stick it out, i cant say im happy i did but i can say that i did like the ending.
i liked the way this book started but it quickly lost me after nikki was introduced. these two were so toxic and not in the fun way. as a lover of toxic romance reads i think that says a lot lol. these two should not have tried to be together again, after all the time spent apart and what seemed like growth on both ends as soon as they tried to talk about anything real is was like they were completely different volatile characters. and this lasted through out the entire book… so when they came back together after the 3rd act breakup and everything was poised and mature it felt extremely unbelievable (no matter how much i liked how it ended, it wasnt believable).
the cover is beautiful, the writing is great, however the characters were just too immature and toxic which is a shame because i was so excited for a sapphic second chance 😭

While there were definitely sweet moments and themes I appreciated, the story overall felt a little flat for me. I found myself wanting more development — whether that be deeper emotional stakes, stronger character arcs, or a bit more tension to fully carry the narrative. The ingredients were all there, but it didn’t quite come together in the way I had hoped.
That said, it’s still an enjoyable, heartfelt read — just not one that fully lived up to its promising concept for me..

I think I’ve already said most of what I need to say in some of my updates, but wow I hated Nikki and Andy together. I might revisit this review when I have more coherent thoughts, but I generally believe that these two people should not be together. This book follows a very familiar plot structure, which is about building up a set of questions and mysteries that only are revealed and answered once the third act conflict is over. Unfortunately, this plot structure works horribly for second chance romance, because how can I believe these people are supposed to be together if they can’t even discuss the very basics on why they broke up in the first place? Using Nikki’s struggle with not only alcohol but also hard drugs as some sort of revelation about an issue that plagued their relationship felt very weak to me. There was also a very simple, in my opinion, miscommunication that just pissed me off because that could have been explained away immediately. Basically, this book does not work because their miscommunication and understanding of each other does not develop naturally over time, but in an info dump during the last 10% of the book, making the other 90% obsolete and frankly annoying to read. If you cannot have a real conversation on why your relationship was not working, what business do you have hooking up on the kitchen floor like you cannot control yourself? On top of all of that, there are two instances in the book where Nikki is seen “drinking” alcohol, and it is suddenly explained at the end that she is sober and did not drink either of those drinks. Dear lord girl why didn’t you say something???? You’re trying to win back your ex, who hated your relationship with alcohol, and you neglect to mention the fact that you’re sober until it is plot convenient? Second chance romances get interesting once they have the real conversations and start to rebuild their lives. This book is just a waste of time and then suddenly everything is good and they’re in love and they’re going to get married. I simply cannot comprehend how we made these jumps. All of the most real, raw, human things were skipped over in favor of jokes about how much they want to have sex but shouldn’t? I am truly, completely baffled by this book and extremely disappointed, maybe I need to just stop reading second chance romance lol 1.5🌟 (rounded up because the writing was actually solid lol)

former child stars turned girlfriends turned enemies have a second chance romance in a Maine flower-shop setting. I enjoyed the listen, the narrator's voice was low-pitched, good at narrating the spicy stuff, and lovely. At times I did have a bit of an issue differentiating the love interests, but overall they did a good job making each character have a different voice.
what downgraded this a little is that it began to feel a bit repetitive. This is a very close, single POV story and most of it is talking between the two characters. It was a lot of explaining their history (not showing it), and I didn't quite get the same angst as things felt more or less distant, like I was buying into their story. Also, everything felt a little careful, especially since Nikki is a recovering addict and both of them had trauma from an industry they were in at such a precocious age.
That said, I would read more from the author!

This was 3/5 for me. Very cute sapphic story. Rebecca Mozo did a great job narrating the audiobook. Andy is a former child-star that disappears from LA after facing difficult things, and settles in a cozy town, working in a flower shop. Nikki was her co-star on the Nikki and Andy show. But she wasn’t just her coworker. Andy discovers Nikki is essentially writing a biography and flips out. One drunk text turns into something more again after that.

The sharp blade rips the thorns and leaves off with a satisfying slicing sound that almost lets me forget the truth of it all—which is that my job here is to smooth out all their wildness, file down their rough edges, and make them more palatable. The plant version of what I’ve been trying to do to myself my whole damn life, with mixed results.
God forbid anybody ever appreciates anything in its natural state—thorns and all—and saves me some scratches.
Now this is a successful second chance romance. I really really enjoyed it.
For me to love a 2nd chance romance, it needs to do these 3 things
- I need to see or understand how they fell in love originally
- The original split needs to be for a valid reason
- Both characters must have gone through the development and change needed to make the relationship make sense for a second try.
And this blew these out of the park IMO. (And to get all that in just a short little book is impressive!) - not to mention, in Andy’s POV I truly didn’t think Nikki could be redeemed at first.
So Andy and Nikki were childhood actors together. Andy left the scenes years ago (abandoning Nikki) and has been living a normal life away from Hollywood, and Nikki continued acting. Andy sees Nikki announce that she is working on her biography on a TV show, and given how intertwined their lives were, she rightfully freaks out.
“The truth is, I’ve made a hundred bad decisions, I’ve made a hundred mistakes, but loving you was never one of them.”
Leaving out lots of details, basically we have Andy and Nikki reconnecting over this book. They can finally talk about the past, and I think the single POV is so successful here - Nikki has already done her self work, and Andy has a lot more to do. But the way they are working through their lives for this book feels like a very natural way to explore their history, and learn about what went wrong. I appreciated that they both have gone through so much growth. There was so much toxicity when they were first together.
(There was also alcohol and drug abuse going on)
They definitely struggle to communicate, but they’re TRYING!! that effort makes all the difference. Their dynamic felt messy in a very real way, especially given everything they’ve been through.
This is an exes to FwB to lovers progression, and it can feel a little wishy-washy, but it worked here because Andy is actively working through her feelings. The emotional beats felt realistic to me.
🎧: I definitely recommend the audio! I absolutely flew through it. The narrator did a great job.

It’s messy. It’s angsty. It’s filled with drama and yearning. It’s a story about healing and forgiveness and second chances. And it captured my heart from start to finish!
I typically prefer dual POV stories because I like getting to see both sides, but this is one of those situations where I think the single POV was needed and I’m glad for it! Andy is a mess. Yes, she’s come a long way in 5 years, built a new life for herself with a new identity and hidden away from the life and world that just about destroyed her. She might have even thought she was in a better place than she was before finding out about her ex-girlfriend/costar’s tell all memoir. But that’s the thing about running from your past without truly dealing with it - at some point it’s going to catch up with you. And catch up it did!
Nikki, as we eventually learn (but I won’t share spoilers), spent the last 5 years very differently than Andy did. And it shows! In more ways than one. Andy is clearly still very hurt and holding onto her grudges like a liferaft. She wasn’t ready to face the past, figuratively or literally. But then her past, in the shape of her ex-girlfriend, shows up at the door of the flowershop where she works and forces her to.
I know Andy couldn’t see it, but I could feel the genuine sincerity and care in all of Nikki’s actions. I could tell there was remorse and longing and hope and worry driving every action, even though I knew Andy was holding too tight to her pain to notice. Their journey is not a sprint. It’s not even a marathon. It’s a series of races and hurdles, of stopping and starting and trying again. It’s clear that Nikki knows what she wants, but instead of pushing her actions are more of a constant gentle urging. And Andy kind of puts her through the ringer with her wishy-washy feelings and inability to see the present as different and distant from their shared past.
But oh the longing!! The love and chemistry between these two is beyond evident. Andy truly yearns for Nikki while constantly trying to stop herself from wanting her. I understand where Andy’s hesitancy and fear comes from but she is still unbelievably frustrating at times. Her refusal to hear Nikki’s story or to even entertain the possibility that things didn’t go down exactly the way she thought or remembers. Her inability to see herself as anything but the victim in their past. Her constant avoidance of real communication and having hard conversations. Like I said earlier…this story is messy!
But it’s also beautiful. Finally getting to hear what Nikki’s journey was like after Andy ran away, uncovering the truth about the myriad things that led to the inevitable breakdown of their relationship, and listening to them finally putting it all out on the table and talking…my heart!!!
I do wish we had gotten to see a little bit more than just kind of a “highlight reel” of Andy’s healing journey after she broke her own heart and finally faced the past head on, but I was so glad to see her actually confront things instead of running away. It was 5 years past due, but it’s never too late to seek healing.
I felt like Dugan did a great job of balancing some heavy topics (the commentary on Hollywood, addiction) with a sweet, albeit messy, second chance romance. And I of course can’t forget to talk about the adorable and slightly judgmental (warranted) cat, Gouda. Plus Andy’s best friends, Reagan and Johnny. Johnny was a bit much at times but it’s sweet how protective he is of his friend. And I love how Reagan is the kind of friend who is both supportive but willing to call you on your bullshit too. Andy needs that in her life.
If you are looking for a sapphic romance with a messy but wonderful MC that is equal parts angst and yearning with a side of healing, look no further! I truly enjoyed this one and I know it might not be everyone’s cup of tea but I was completely hooked by these characters and their story!

It’s messy. It’s angsty. It’s filled with drama and yearning. It’s a story about healing and forgiveness and second chances. And it captured my heart from start to finish!
I typically prefer dual POV stories because I like getting to see both sides, but this is one of those situations where I think the single POV was needed and I’m glad for it! Andy is a mess. I know a little bit about having to choose myself after an entire life of putting others first & escaping across states. While it’s difficult, I highly recommend.🫶
I’ve had “Love At First Set” on my wishlist for what seems like centuries so I hope to read that one too!

This book was everything I could’ve wanted and more! I love love love Andy so so much! I love how she was able to find something she loves to do outside of acting. I felt like her and Nikki’s relationship was so messy from the start I’m glad at the end they were able to communicate and figure it out.
I’m so glad Nikki was able to get help, not just for Andy but for herself. I haven’t really seen that before in a romance novel and it was very refreshing. Nikki and Andy couldn’t have been together any longer when they had their break and the book shows a good job at showing that. Nikki had to get help and Andy needed to figure out what she wanted from life.
Also side note, I loved how Nikki learned the language for flowers for Andy 🥹 that got me so much ugh I loved it.
Overall this was a very fun read and I recommend it for anyone who’s a fan of second chance romance, celebrity romance, and small town romance.

I read this for my bookclub and loved it!! perfect for spring. The story follows Andy Ducharme, a former child star who walked away from her chaotic Hollywood life and now lives quietly in a small coastal town, working at a flower shop. She’s clearly trying to escape her past, especially everything tied to her old show and her ex Nikki Price, her former costar and first love. But when Nikki announces she’s writing a tell all memoir, all of Andy’s unresolved feelings come rushing back. One impulsive text later, Nikki shows up in town, determined to get answers and maybe more.What I liked most was the dynamic between Andy and Nikki. The enemies to lovers and second chance romance elements worked really well together, especially because you can tell there’s still something there under all the tension and resentment.Andy was also a great main character. She’s flawed and a little avoidant, but that makes her real to me she feels human. Watching her try to protect the life she’s built while being pulled back toward someone who once meant everything to her adds a lot of emotional weight to the story.The small town setting was another highlight it contrasts nicely with the chaos of their Hollywood past and makes everything feel more intimate. At the same time, the looming memoir adds pressure and stakes, since it threatens to expose things Andy would rather keep buried.Overall, this was a really entertaining and emotional read. It’s funny, a bit angsty, and full of tension in the best way. If you like second chance romances with complicated exes, strong chemistry, and a mix of humor, this is definitely one I’d recommend
