Adorable board book. Introducing shapes through the beautiful illustrations we all know and love from the Chicka Chicka world, this one brings joy and excitement with its use of a mirror image through the pages. A perfect grab for any occasion.
Thank you Simon Kids/Little Simon for my free advance copy. My opinions are my own.
What a fun addition to the Chicka Chicka books! This baby and toddler board book has mirrors throughout, helping learn about shapes while talking about how loved and special the little one is. The colors are bright and the prose is playful, as we have come to expect from the series. It doesn't have the same rhyming cadence or beat as the original, but it doesn't need to. It's lovely and perfect for the little one in your life.
Chicka Chicka You You by Bill Martin Jr and John Archambault bring together positive self talk with shapes in this toddler board book that's illustrated by Daniel Roode. I thought the messaging was positive, the mirror was clear within each shape so little ones can see themselves, and I liked how the ending reinforced the shapes learned throughout the book. A great book for every little one's library.
My twin granddaughters loved CHICKA CHICKA BOOM BOOM from a very early age. They loved hearing it and I loved reading it. I wish this book had been around four years ago. It’s a fun introduction to shapes, and is made extra special with a mirror on every page (which babies love).
A fun way to learn about shapes for the littlest readers. The mirror is the shape for littles to see themselves as you read. A must-have for all libraries!!
Can you ever go wrong with a Chicka Chicka book? This one introduces shapes and talks about different moments to see like giving snuggles in the mirrors. My toddler loves tracing the shapes and my baby loves looking at herself in the mirror.
I like that my toddler can enjoy the book without me reading it because the mirrors are just as engaging as the words. This would be a good book for Valentine’s or an Easter basket!
