Little ones who love lawnmowers will also love these sweet animal friends. From author-illustrator Breanna Carzoo comes a cast of landscaping critters who snip, clip, and mow the day away!
The grass has grown tall. Too tall. That means it’s…lawn-mowing day!
Gear up with a cast of friendly animals as they get ready to snip, clip, and mow the lawn! And when the grass grows too tall again...they’ll be back for more! Little ones who love lawn mowers and other tools will love this sweet story from author-illustrator Breanna Carzoo!
There's apparently a severe lack of books about using lawn mowers so, yeah, I'm excited to see something fresh. The illustrations are super fun, lots of textures and layers. What lost me was the part where we were supposed to make diamonds and then circles with the lawn mowers. The actions and images did not seem to fit together, and they abandoned the visual cue that light green grass is mowed, dark green grass is unmowed. That was necessary, since we're seeing the grass from above and can't tell the height otherwise! I often see books for babies and toddlers abandoning logic and clarity for the sake of being whimsical or fun or something, but I think that's unfair because these books are their building blocks for making sense of the world. Make the lawn mowing patterns make sense, is that too much to ask?
This was such a fun book to talking about mowing the lawn. It talks about recognizing the length of grass, but it also introduces different shapes, sounds, and balancing rest / play time. Bonus is that the main characters are animals!

Thanks Simon Kids for my free book! These opinions are my own:
What a fun, colorful celebration of a quotidian landscaping task! We get to join three adorable animals as they celebrate and enjoy mowing the lawn and the cycle of growth during the verdant months. Super fun board book for little hands who may want to "help" out with this chore.
I love this board book! I wish it was in picture book form because it is so good. There's movement and fun with a dash of mowing information. Great for little or big book listeners.
