Love this soft padded board book. The illustrations take me back to when I watched Bambi as a child bringing a nostalgia element for me, so enjoyed seeing my son see these pages as he loves Bambi too. The soft backgrounds allow the animals to remain the focal point, ensuring the pages aren't overwhelming for young eyes.

The story itself holds a seamless transition from morning to evening with a focus of enjoying day-to-day things together.

My littles and I love the beautiful, loving words and the gorgeous illustrations of parent animals (found in North America) and their young. This lyrical board book stirs up warm feelings and reinforces activities that children and caregivers do together and the love that they show for each other while doing them. It is a beautiful book that we'll re-read again and again, and is very giftable.

My Heart Knows Love by Yuli Yav uses animals to show the love between a parent and their child. The parent animal is never assigned as mom or dad and I really like that because it feels more inclusive and perfect for every family structure. Illustrated by Sydney Hanson, the animals are realistic and the colors palette is soft and soothing.

This book does have a soft cover with cardboard pages so it is perfect for toddlers.
