In the thirty-first book of the Critter Club series, can Liz find the perfect home for some senior animals?
When Liz visits her grandma’s senior living community, she notices many of the residents share a love for animals. So, when a nearby shelter starts looking for a place to host an adoption event for their senior animals, Liz knows just the place. With some luck and some art skills, Liz sets out to find the perfect home for these lovable, elderly pets...and maybe even a pet for her grandma.
With easy-to-read language and illustrations on almost every page, The Critter Club chapter books are perfect for beginning readers.
This book, and this series, are the the perfect examples of "Feel Good" stories. It's a pleasure to read each book, and I am always in such a positive mood during and after my reading. I love how the these girls have a bond of friendship that is characterized of cooperation, respect for each other's feelings, and willingness to help others. The illustrations are an additional plus. I strongly believe this series should be read by adults as well as children as a way to feel good about yourself and about the world in general.
So sweet, and what a great idea for a story. Having an adoption event at the elderly center seems like a lot to handle, "Folks here like their peace and quiet" T-Rex the turtle is a vegetarian, (ahahahahah perfect name) Fun the playfulness of using the puppy's name that is Match. A great read-along family moment for grandkids and their grand"family" for animal lovers as well.
If your kiddo is an animal lover, this one is a total winner. Liz heads to her grandma’s senior living community and realizes that senior humans + senior pets = a match made in heaven!
The Vibe: Heartwarming, community-focused, and sweet.
Why we loved it: It teaches kids that old doesn't mean forgotten and shows how one person, even a small one, can make a huge impact.
It wasn't my favorite book. But it wasn't bad. Both my daughter and I agreed it was three stars. I feel like this is a book that would be really enjoyed by a dog lover child.
